If you're still alive, you're not struggling with depression. Depression is struggling with you.

Anyway, what can I say about myself? I like long walks on the beach, but don't like the beach much. I love spicy food even though I can't handle my spice. Oh! I tried juicy pork dumpling and holy shit my taste buds were having an orgasm.

My favorite tea is chamomile tea. Why is the English word for it so weird? Ugh, the English language is weird. Like why the silent 'T' in listen? Why not just lissen? Idk.

I got three cats. Two, Haku and Mizu, live with me and Pochita lives at my store. Pochita is the keeper of the store and it's protector. The other two are spoiled brats.

Call me Manzanilla or Fer, whichever is fine! I recently became the owner of a
photography studio in LA, so my days have been full of work. And the free time
I have, I use it to get high out of my mind.

Currently taking it easy.

Rhys grinned as soon as the door opened. “Jasmine, so glad to see you’re already here.” he stepped inside and made a beeline to the first empty surface he saw. “I got it, I have to get my daily arm workout, right?” That was a lie, Rhys did not work out on the daily. In fact, he barely did so. Only when Liliana dragged him out of bed in the mornings to the gym, her pilates class, did he work out. In all honestly, he had been blessed with the metabolism of the gods. Which he was grateful for, with all the sitting he did trying to rack his brain for any idea worth writing for.

“You’re just weak.” He heard his roommate whisper a tease as she walked past him and offered Jasmine his bag of soju.

Rhys rolled his eyes at Liliana, shimming his arms to remove any tension. He let Liliana wander around the apartment as he shot Christian a grin, “Hey man, thank you for hosting for tonight. The whole floor has been smelling so good since the morning, I can’t wait to eat finally. Practically starved myself the whole day.”

On the other side of the table, Liliana greeted Sadie, a fellow party connoisseur, and her roommate Ember. Rhys had talked about Ember before, about how she had practically run him over with her bike and then… Lili didn’t remember much of what Rhys had said after that. She had been too focused on figuring out how someone practically ran someone over without them actually running them over. No matter how hard she tried, she could not picture it. A hovering bike, maybe?

“Call me Liliana or Lili,” Liliana’s default smile surfaced, “Angel is my stage name, but you can call me that too.” She shrugged; she’d never been picky about what others called her anyway. “I’m getting something to drink; I’ll see you around.” She smiled again at Ember and Sadie before leaving for the bar.

Once at the makeshift bar that was one of Christian’s countertops, she poured some of the set-aside orange juice and tequila into the classic red cups. Well, more like poured an essence of orange juice into the cup of tequila. She had to take advantage of the empty stomach before digging into that delicious mouth-water food.

“Fuck, I’m so hungry.”

I'm not your bestie, not your sis (eww)
I'm not the one, I am that bitch
It's slow for these hoes
I got 'em mad, they so dramatic
Want my spot but they can't have it
This smoke for free though
I am jealous of the people that can exist so easily.

Liliana had gone far and beyond to prepare her the guacamole for today’s Thanksgiving potluck. Three days ago, she had spent an hour traveling by bus in Los Angeles’s godawful public transportation to Placita Olvera to find a molcajete big enough to fit enough guacamole for the whole group. She had also carried that thing for another back to her apartment, and by the end of the trip, she had decided she’d done enough arm workouts for that week.

After seasoning the molcajeta correctly to ensure optimum flavor and authenticity, she got right to work. Grinding and mashing the avocado, adding the fresh cilantro, onions, lime, tomatoes– and of course, the three chiles. Three poblano peppers, five serranos, and four jalapenos. The perfect appetizer with the right amount of kick. She hoped, at least.

She’d never admit it, but she was equally excited and nervous about today, like a little girl on her first day of school. It’d be her first holiday with this many people and people she barely knew. They’d probably only invited her out of courtesy, but still, it might be fun. She had to try at least, and the first step was her guacamole. Everyone liked guacamole, right?

“Lili, are you almost done?” Rhys walked into the kitchen, holding a grocery bag with his own offering for the potluck. Soju, for those not keen on the taste of hard liquor.

“Almost,” Liliana replied, far too concentrated on ensuring all the chips were evenly aligned and spread out around the rim of the molcajete.

“You know it doesn’t–”

Liliana raised a finger to him, shushing him instantly. “If I don’t do it, it will bother me. If it bothers me, I will be upset. If I am upset, I will mope around and ruin today. I don’t want to ruin today.”

Rhys blinked, arched an eyebrow, and did not attempt to argue with her. It was hard to get something out or change it when she got something in her head. He supposed it was just a Liliana thing he did not understand and had learned not to question her method of thinking.

“Fine, but please do hurry. You still have to change.” Rhys placed the bag on the counter, the green soju bottles clinking lightly. She was still wearing the same pair of sweats and a tank top from yesterday.

“I’m going like this.” Liliana looked up from the tortilla chips to stare at Rhys with the most serious face she could muster. He opened his mouth to protest, but before he could say anything, she snorted, “It’s a joke. I’ll change.” And with that, she returned to decorating the guacamole with the chips.

The pair arrived at Christian’s apartment twenty minutes late since they had to wait for him to get his hair to fall just the right way. Lili had changed her sweats for an orange silk dress with a low back to showcase the tattoos on her back. Rhys had convinced her to wear black kitten heels and her hair tied back, which he was sure she would let loose as soon as he wasn’t looking.

Rhys, on the other hand, wore dark brown plaid trousers, a black turtle neck(rolled up for maximum hotness), and his trusty black Docs. His hair, which had taken him twenty minutes to style, fell to the left of his face instead the right. Special occasions always called for the left!

Next to him, Liliana pulled at the hem of her dress and grimaced when it didn’t stay put. Rhys rolled his eyes, gently nudging her with his foot. “You look hot; you’re gonna be the best dressed in there,”

“Thanks, and you look… like a professor.”

Rhys pouted at her reply.

“A hot professor,” Liliana offered him a grin, which he took and returned one of his own. Rhys had to take her compliments, knowing the woman wasn't the best at them. Besides, he was usually going for the "young hot professor" look whenever he could.

“Knock for me? Got my hands full over here.” Rhys looked down at the large molcajete.

“Right.” Lili took a deep breath, and Rhys watched her slip up a smiling mask on her face and knock on the door twice.
I've been struggling for two days now trying to print photos with the new Ventura update for Apple. It is shiiiiiiiiiit. I am about to pull my hair out and eat my weight in edibles.
Pero si alguien me pregunta si te quise
Nada más sabre decir que te adoré
No hace falta interpretar mis cicatrices
Mi silencio explica tal cual como fué
