Issue #1.03
𝗪𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗢𝗠𝗔𝗡

In a matter of seconds, Wonder Woman was flying above the streets of Paris and tried her best to listen for police sirens. Unfortunately, the traffic below caused too much noise for her to concentrate. She looked at the cars beneath her and remembered how these streets were once filled with people. There were a few automobiles in existence, but it wasn't as popular compared to the present. The city had survived two World Wars, countless regional conflicts, revolutions, and terror attacks. It was a testament to mankind's ability to adapt during dark periods in their history. And it was incredible to watch them change within a century.

Wonder Woman kept on flying while looking for the getaway vehicle. Eventually, she found the white getaway van on Avenue de New York with two police cars behind it. On street level, a police officer requested backup when one of the suspects opened fire. They managed to damage one of the tires, which caused the officer to lose control of his car. It was heading for some pedestrians before Wonder Woman managed to stop it was her hands. "Tell them to get to a safe distance. I will handle this." She said to the officer before taking off for the suspects. The other police car started to slow down as Wonder Woman flew pass it which caught the officers off guard.

Andre Le Blanc immediately saw Wonder Woman on the side mirror and started to panic. "Oh shit! Wonder Woman's behind us!" he shouted in a strong French accent before firing two shots from his pistol.

"You are getting on my fucking nerves, frenchie." Angelo Bend growled at his 'partner' before taking a sharp right turn on Rue du Ranelagh. "Just shut up and distract her."

"Branleur." Le Blanc mumbled to himself while he fired two shots out of the window in the hopes that one of them hit Wonder Woman. It was pointless to hope that, but it was better than doing nothing. Her bracelets blocked the bullets before the suspect had to reload and she flew under the van. When he returned to fire once more, he realized that she was gone and knew that they were caught. She lifted the van with ease and started to carry it towards a nearby square. Both men saw people below backing away while cheering on Wonder Woman. Le Blanc turned to Bend and said in anger, "I told that we should have done this in the night so tha-"

Bend slapped Le Blanc hard enough and said in a rage, "Shut the fuck up for one fucking second. I have a plan. So, be quiet and follow my lead."

Wonder Woman carefully approached the back of the van and torn open the door, revealing bags of money and a bomb. She looked at the people and told them to run away from the square, which caused a panic. With the people leaving, Bend came out of the van with nothing but the detonator and his Angler. Le Blanc was the last person out and decided to watch from a safe distance. "Wonder Woman, nice of you to show up unannounced," Bend said irritated about her presence while he held the detonator tightly in his hand. "It is annoying that you forced my hand and made me do this. What a shame."

"It's over for the both of you. Give up now before it's too late." Wonder Woman tried to bargain with them even if it was foolish.

"Bold of you to make that demand, lady." Bend dismissed her deal and showed off the detonator once more. "But I am the only one that should be making a deal. Leave us alone while we are making our grand escape or get everyone in this park killed over some stolen money. And yes, it's my only offer. So, what will it be?"

Before Wonder Woman could respond with her answer, Le Blanc walked beside Bend and pulled out his pistol. While Bend was asking what his partner was doing, three shots rang out in quick succession. She watched as the Angle Man fell to the ground with the Angler and the detonator landing beside him. He had been shot on the spot. Meanwhile, Le Blanc calmly stepped over the wounded man and grabbed both devices. He felt his partner grabbing his leg and cried out in pain and anger, "Why did you fucking shot me?!"

"Because you were going to ruin everything... and you're an asshole." Le Blanc explained his reason while picking up both the Angler and the detonator. Suddenly, it started to get windy enough that bench and trash bins fell over. The leaves of the nearby trees flew towards the van and Le Blanc spinning around them. Wonder Woman made her way towards him in the hopes of capturing him before he could get away. However, there was a powerful blast enough to knock her off of her feet. After a few more seconds, the leaves fell to the ground and revealed that both the van and Le Blanc vanished.

The wind calmed down shortly after leaving behind a stunned Wonder Woman. In the background, Bend started to hit the ground like an angry child and cursing Le Blanc. Despite the three gunshot wounds, he was going to be alright. As for his days as Angle Man, that was a whole different story. Under his breath, he mumbled something that caught Wonder Woman's interest. She grabbed her Lasso of Hestia, but everybody knew it as the Lasso of Truth. It was wrapped around his neck and she asked him to repeat his last sentence. There was silence.

"The Lasso of Hestia compels you."

"'I can't believe he used the wish.'" Bend answered without any hesitation while the lasso was glowing. He realized what he had said and cursed her loud enough. "Fuck you bitch."

Wonder Woman pulled the lasso harder and asked another question, "What do you mean that he used the 'wish?'"

He tried to resist the lasso but it proved to be useless in the end. "Our client sent us a letter with the locations of several banks in the areas. And at the end of the letter, they mentioned using a wish in the case of an emergency. We didn't believe him at first. Thought that they were joking around... until now."

Andre Le Blanc noticed that his wish actually worked and that he was safe from Wonder Woman. He also saw that the van was beside him along with the money and bomb. Now, the problem was that he had no idea where he was at the moment. It was too dark to notice anything besides the quiet wind. He knew that he had to be on the other side of the world. Then, he started to think that he made a terrible mistake and tried to wish to leave this area but nothing happened. Before he could completely panic, he saw that a small table appeared in front of him with a note. There was a pause to pick it up; yet, he knew that he had to. He opened it up and read it to himself:

Congratulations!

You have complete my contract. Now, your payment will arrive shortly. But, I sense that you want fortune that will last forever. I saw what you did to your "partner" and it showed me that you are capable of making the hard decisions. Bend was foolish and an idiot, but you aren't him. You are smarter than he could ever be. Now, you have to make another choice. Join my small group or leave. Nothing will happen to you if you leave with the payment. Just walk and open the white door. Of course, you would return to petty thievery and stealing paintings across Europe once more. And still not make enough to live a peaceful life. If you want to achieve greatness, then call me out.

Call my name out loud for the heavens to hear! Call out Aladdin!

Unlike the first time, Le Blanc was more open to the idea that this "Aladdin" was serious. But, he still thought of him as a crazy metahuman. Suddenly, a bag fell from the sky and landed in front of him. He opened it up and found it filled with cash and jewelry. And then the white door appeared behind him. It was incredible and frightful at the same time. Hell, he thought of running for the door until he remembered one of the sentences from the note. I sense that you want fortune that will last forever. It was the main reason why he became a thief in the first place. To make sure that he never had to live in poetry ever again. With that in mind, he placed down the note and breathed before yelling out the name.

"Aladdin!"

Well we're almost a week into the IC and already on our third page so out of curiosity, what are the driving factors and influences in your story?

For Wonder Woman, I want to focus on writing someone that has basically lived a century and seen the beauty and ugly of humanity. Now with her lover and friends gone, she had more time to work on WVF and additional media properties; however, she doesn't really have a whole network of friends nowadays. Besides Captain America and Captain Marvel, everyone that she met and befriended has died and either buried or cremated. Her new friends are just her co-workers and they only have been working with her since 2001 when she returned to the public eye. My inspirations were The Man from Earth, The Age of Adaline, and a hint of Forever regarding her immortality. Of course, I am planning on showing both the good and bad of being an immoral superhero.

Meanwhile, on the political side, I have plan on making the committee on Wonder Woman her overall arc of the season. I want to answer the question of how the governments of the world will respond to a resurfacing of metahumans/mutants that they haven't dealt with before. Of course, there were superheroes but they knew that they had it under control. Now, they are scared and afraid. So, who should be blamed for this? The World's First Superhero: Wonder Woman. I want to write out that the world might be a better place if Wonder Woman never existed. And have the committee ask the tough questions. One of the most important inspirations was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and their attempt on matter. And my other influences were Marvel's Civil War, The Dark Knight Returns, Watchmen, and (my first comic that I am going to read) Kingdome Come.

I should also mention this to y'all. If you want to do a crossover, then private message me on here or discord. I am already planning to do one with Iron Man but it doesn't mean we can't plan it. Also, sorry for my disappearance! My sister came home for the weekend before her spring break trip.

"'You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.'

This quote from Kosovar highlights the message of the twenty-ninth General Assembly, which we are opening in Paris. It is the sixty-ninth anniversary of our World Veterans Federation, seventy-four years since the end of World War II, and one hundred-one years since the end of the Great War. The WVF would like to thank Sabrina Philidor, the Secretary of State of Veterans, for being the guest of honour of the assembly. Her presence shows that she's committed to not only French veterans, but veterans all over the world. We are also committed to helping out to ensure that those veterans are able to return to civilian life.

And our presence is felt on all five continents, in ninety-six countries, because unfortunately regional conflicts are generating more veterans, which the WVF welcomes with open arms in accords to our promise.

It is important more than ever to remind the international community to promote peace and international security while standing up for those caught in between any sort of conflict. Remind them that war is the last resort that cannot be undone and will affect everybody besides their rival. And never let them forget that the World Veterans Federation will always uphold our goals of promoting social justice issues and protecting the well-being of veterans and victims of war worldwide.

I wish all of you a good time during the assembly. I thank you."

The room erupted in applause when Wonder Woman was finished giving her opening speech for the General Assembly. She had been giving the nearly identical speech (with a few minor changes) for twenty-nine General Assembles over sixty-nine years. The crowd of delegates kept on applauding while she was leaving the stage and the massive conference room. Diana learned that it was better if she reminded in the background while giving the spotlight to the men and women during the assembly. Even with the recent surge of heroes, the world still needed Wonder Woman. Suddenly, she heard her name being called out and saw Philidor approaching her knowing she had something to say.

"I just want to thank you for making sure that the WVF held a general assembly here. It means so much to veterans all over France. I hope that you have time to make it for the ending ceremony." Philidor said sincerely towards Wonder Woman.

"Of course, I will try to be there, madam secretary." Wonder Woman tried to make her way out of the room until she heard Philidor calling her name but with a notepad and pen on hand.

"I am sorry for asking, but my daughter will kill me if I didn't try."

Wonder Woman smiled, picked up the pen, and started signing her name on the notepad. "I understand completely. You won't believe how many people ask for a selfie or an autograph. The best of luck to you and your daughter, secretary."

Once she was able to leave the room, Diana saw that Etta was on her phone with her niece who was looking for a place to live in Georgetown. She was talking about finding an affordable apartment while attending Georgetown University. And Etta mentioned about living in her childhood home while she was away from work. Of course, it led to some sort of disagreement that caused her to roll her eyes. Diana watched the whole thing unfold and saw her bodyguard's eyes widening in surprise. She interrupted her niece and said, "I have to go. We will talk later."

"You didn't have to end your call so quickly, Candy."

"Work comes first, Diana." Etta responded and then handed her tablet to Diana before she could say anything. "Besides, you have more important matters to attend."

Diana grabbed the tablet and saw reports that the master thieves, Andre Le Blanc and Angelo Bend, had engaged with the authorities in nearby. So far, they managed to kill four officers while robbing four different banks across Paris. According to the live news, both criminals, were last seen driving the getaway vehicle out of the city. Wonder Woman was familiar with Angle Man after a two year long robbing spree in the early 2000s across Northern Italy. His device, the Angler, allowed him to teleport short distances and alter reality with a thought. He was finally caught with Wonder Woman's help after she managed to secure the device and used it to teleport him into a cell. Andre Le Blanc, on the other hand, was a master thief with no special abilities or tools. She never met him in person, but heard stories of his handy work across France.

She handed the tablet back to Etta and responded, "I never expected for the two of them to be working together."

"Perhaps its a one time thing?"

"Maybe." Diana said before entering the woman's bathroom and one of the stalls in order to change out of the expensive outfit. "Then again, I thought Angle Man's ego would have prevented him working with others beneath him."

Etta checked her phone for any text messages from her niece while Diana was changing outfits. About thirty seconds later, Wonder Woman came out of the stall with her dress and heels on hand while she was wearing her ironic armor. Despite wearing that armor for a hundred years, it looked like it was made yesterday with a fresh coat of paint. She looked at Etta and handed her the dress and heels while saying in jest, "Be careful with that or it will cost you a fortune."

"I will, madam." Etta responded and watched as Wonder Woman left the restroom to do her job.

Inside the old room within the Old Fox Pub, Wonder Woman was caught off guard by Aladdin's sudden appearance. She didn't know who the man was but knew that he was trouble. Her sword was still pointed at him and ready to strike if he responded with conflict. Yet, it didn't bother Aladdin at all and went towards the empty Iron Man suit.

"Isn't it impressive?" Aladdin asked Diana while he rubbed the metal shoulder.

"Where is the person inside the suit?" Wonder Woman dodged his question and asked her own towards the man.

"There never was anyone in the suit. A simple levitation spell kept it afloat before it was hit by the missile. Of course, the hardest part was making the iron suit look precisely like the real one. It won't last a single day out in combat, but it will get you first place in a costume contest." Aladdin explained and then processed to grab the mask piece. "It took weeks to make it look convincing enough. I guess it worked perfectly. However, I am here to see you."

"Why?"

Aladdin put the mask piece back into place and responded, "Because you are an essential piece of my plan. Your ruthless methods of killing the enemy never genuinely changed with the times. Almost everything about you changed except for that. While you may think and even defend your actions, the world will judge you until you are forgotten and replaced by the new generation of heroes. Speaking of which, let's see how the world is reacting to the footage of your brutality."

Aladdin shook his right hand for a few seconds until a remote appeared out of nowhere. Wonder Woman knew she was dealing with a different type of magic that she never saw before. She started to question it until the monitors began to show newscasters throughout the world. Each one of them talked about leaked footage, received from an anonymous source, of Wonder Woman excessively killing Trasnian rebels. One of the news channels, GCN, warned viewers of the graphic content before showing some of the footages. Meanwhile, news anchors from the BBC told their viewers that the footages were too explicit to display even when it was heavily censored.

Diana stood bewildered while the screens kept on playing. Aladdin grinned delightfully at the sight of a confused Wonder Woman. Before she could say anything, he walked towards and explained that he leaked the footage to the media. Then, he turned the remote into a cell phone and began browsing Twitter.

Glancing down at his phone, Aladdin began to mock Diana before looking towards her.

"Well," He began, his tone full of taunt as he spoke, "At least you're trending worldwide."

Diana looked at Aladdin's smug smile and immediately felt hatred towards him. She knew that Aladdin understood how releasing the footage was going to be used by her opponents like Senator Swanwick and Veronica Cale. In response to the mockery, Diana spat at Aladdin and snarled, "You bastard!"

"Being one is my specialty." Aladdin responded with a wink, but his time with Wonder Woman was over. For now. "Unfortunately, I have places to be and friends to meet up. I know that I will see you soon. Until we meet again, I wish you well during these troubled times."

With a snap of his fingers, the several television screens vanished as Aladdin walked out of the room. Wonder Woman tried to give chase and capture him for good; however, a familiar face was waiting for her. Doctor Poison sprayed Wonder Woman with some gas designed to slow her down for a few minutes. The effects were almost immediate and Diana felt weak before collapsing to the ground.

"That gas will prevent you from chasing us for a few minutes. But regrettably, you will be fine." Doctor Poison said coldly towards Wonder Woman before escorting Aladdin out of the pub. She was unable to move and felt severely defeated for the first time in a long time. There was nothing she could do to make everything normal again. Then, she realized that her reputation was tarnished forever due to her reckless disregard of her actions. That was when she started to cry out loud.

Diana stopped crying once she realized that she could move again and headed outside. Petrovich and his men were able to escape with all of their equipment without any resistance. She stared at the ground in shame until she heard vehicles nearby. It was when she knew that Etta was looking for her to talk about the footage. And it brought up thoughts about her friends' reactions to her brutality. She froze in place while she listened to the vehicles stopping and their engines shutting off. Diana knew that she wasn't ready to deal with her friends. Not yet. When she heard a car door opening, Diana already made her choice.

Etta left the car and headed toward Wonder Woman while fully aware of the footage. But, she wanted to hear her boss' side of the story. However, Wonder Woman flew away without hesitation and headed west. Etta tried to call out her name, but it didn't stop her. Meanwhile, Diana started to cry again as she flew towards the place that she considered safe. The place where she lived the best moments of her life with her lover.

Home.
@Star Lord I appreciate the offer. I'm happy with the plotting I've done, just having a wobble with the first person perspective I feel it needs. If it comes to it I'll just fall back on third person to get the first post up and experiment a bit more with it following that.

Well, I am here if you need anything or some help with your first post. Like a collab.

Also, what @Simple Unicycle said.
@ErsatzEmperor. I could help you out if you need an overall plan for Shazam because I like your character concept so much.

You're not sorry, you did it in both the OOC and the IC!
