Zack smiled. He liked meeting new friends. It was wonderful to have someone new to get to know. "We...well I was glad to help. Power development is starting soon. You should rest a few minutes but don't take long. You should get yourself a small misting fab so thst you can be comfortable in classs. You don't want to be late. Some teachers are ok with it but some arent. You don't ever want to be late for Mimics class. Do you need us to show you the way?"
"Oh, no. That's alright. I will find my own way. I need a quick dip, anyway. I feel a little dry." Kassy wasn't sure she would get another chance to get properly soaked, so she figured she should take a moment. "I will keep that in mind, that this Mimic doesn't tolerate lateness. Thank you for all of your assistance, Zack and Griffin." She took her shoes off, heading in the direction of the pool. Once Zack/Griffin left, she shed most of her clothing and took a quick dip. Just that was enough to make her feel better, and once she was done, she redressed and consulted her map on the way to Power Development.
Once there, she settled near the front of the class, nervously toying with a shiny bit of carved coral. She was excited and anxious all at once. What would the other students be like? Hopefully kind. Hopefully they wouldn't reject her due to her magic...
No, no. She was in a different world now. She had to have hope. Taking a deep breath, she turned to a pair of students. One had fire-red hair, and the other had just been triplets. "Ah, hello!"
It was quite strange to see Kijani flustered, more So to have her not being guarded in the things she said. Unburdened, even slightly, from her past, Kijani seemed more...open.
As she explained how she could fly, eagerly saying what she had accomplished and what she thought could be done, Connor watched her, and so caught the moment she realized what she had said. Perhaps she might have seen the quick jolt that took him at her words, but her own reaction to them seemed to be one of utter shock, and...it wasn't regret...was it fear?
It wouldn't surprise Connor if Kijani had never spoken words of love before, to anyone. But sometimes that made the thing more pure, even if it was more frightening.
So Connor did the only thing he could to reassure her. He took her in his arms, kissing her softly, "why fear Love? Why fear it won't be reciprocated? Face it, my dear, you are stuck with me."
It was, quite probably, cheesy, but since when has that bothered Connor?
Kijani made a flustered noise, and buried her face in Connor's shoulder. "It's... it's not fear. Not from you, really. But... I shouldn't have said that so casually. I didn't... I didn't know I even... felt it, if that makes sense? But... I... I guess it's true." Now that she was thinking about it, the words wouldn't pass her lips again. Funny, she could speak about five languages, six if you included ASL. But one little phrase and she was speechless. "Um. I guess we should go to class, huh? I don't feel like hearing Mimic bitch about us this early in the day, but we have no choice." Pulling back, she planted a swift kiss on Connor's cheek. "See you in class." She rushed off and headed in, setting up in the back and silently hoping Mimic wouldn't notice her.
