Connor watched Kijani, content to do so, and he was more than ready to help if he was required, and as soon as the first person appeared, he helped them down, making sure they weren’t about to pass out, before getting ready to help the next, he kept an eye on Kijani, making sure she was okay as well, he shifted slightly, and with a motion, he cast light before them, to see if they could see down there. @Mistress Dizzy@Caits
Kijani thanked Connor for the light, and continued to slowly hand people up. After a while, her ears started to ring with the effort of keeping the plane together. "Connor, I might be tapped out soon." She made sure the last person was safely up before she stopped. To her surprise, the battered woman scooped her up in a motherly hug.

"Thank you, thank you so much! What's your name?"

Kijani blinked several times, before managing to croak out "Origami" in a confused voice.

"Thank you, Origami! And you too!" She waved up at Connor before going to join a small group of other rescuees. Kijani was still, staring down at her feet. No one had ever thanked her that way before. It was new.

"...she got... blood on my uniform." Kijani made a show of trying to wipe it away, taking a moment to reign in a sudden desire to cry.
  
With an unsure but quick glance at the other two new students, Magnus slides the helmet onto his head. For a moment, he thinks the helmet must be faulty, as nothing seemed to happen. He blinked in confusion, but when he opened his eyes, his surroundings had conpletely transformed. No longer was he in a posh, but very sturdy school. Now, he was amidst what seemed to be a warzone. 

  He slowly turns in a circle, taking in every detail and allowing his mind to work its magic. "The buildings all seem to have taken damage from a central source, with the capitol building being the most heavily affected. Most likely a bomb, with the origin point being that smoldering carcass of a, van, maybe? Other than smoke the air seems fine and my skin isn't blistering, so the bomb is neither dirty nor nuclear, just straight explosive. That's a relief, I suppose." He crouches behind a small pile of rubble and watches carefully as tanks roll in and soldiers stream out. "Tanks aren't usually personnel carriers, so I doubt these were sent by a recognized nation. These seem closer to a war machine built by someone like AIM or Hydra. Their uniforms seem fairly organized and their use of flamethrowers is something the Nazis loved...The fact that they seem to be attacking metahumans would suggest they're trying to take out the biggest threats first, which makes sense. Now how can I help my classmates?"@CajunRobinHood

Jin put on the helmet as well, but she took to her new surroundings much faster. "Damn... this is bad." Checking her suit and lowering a set of pink goggles over her eyes, she let the data gather from her surroundings. "We've got people working on rescuing civilians already. Some dude in a robot suit and some girl. Definitely have some fighters, and -" She hissed and swore under her breath as she was suddenly overwhelmed by electrical feedback, her display scrambling before sorting itself out. With a frown, she pulled the goggles up, ready to fight. But then she realized the interference was a friendly accident. Keeping low to the ground, Jin approached the girl who'd caused the surge.

"Hey. That was a really neat trick. Could you maybe steer it away? You're messing up my sights a little bit." She flashed the other girl a big smile, trying to look safe. Her uniform was matte black, but it seemed to pulse with pink circuitry ebbing and flowing around it. "I think I could help you get some targets to knock out, if you want?"

Jin was not in the mood to play the coward's game. They had faced worse than this and lived, and the idiot pranksters who'd started this would regret it dearly. Tensing their knife hand, Jin's eyes widened and teeth showed in an eerie grin.

"You fuck with me? It's your funeral." With only a moment's hesitation, Jin started down the right path, short legs striding toward the unfamiliar footsteps. "I'll be sure your relatives get your ashes." 

Soon the thumping step would be joined in a near silent padding. Jin had learned young how to step like a criminal, and despite living in peace for several years, the old instincts flooded back fast. Keep your head on a swivel, eyes in motion. Measure your breathing. Being afraid was smart, because being too brave could get you shot. But too much fear and you froze. Instead, use the fear and let terror taste it's own medicine.
