@Witch Cat I mean, there are a lot of books in this RP. It could be another book. Or it could be the witch hunting book. Who knows what John Moses meant?

Oh wait.

I do. ;)

*evil cackle*

Edwina Fairfax

Location: A Rundown Motel; New York City
Interacting With: @Din Nyt

"Go to sleep, silly," Eddie chuckled. "I'll shut off the lights and take first watch."

Not waiting for a reply from Nyt, Eddie flexed her mental muscles, plunging the room into darkness. She smiled sadly, recalling how she had done the same thing for Mercury when he had been wounded. A creature of shadows, it was the only thing she could to do help him. On occasion, her heart would crumble with pangs of sadness attacking it, but as best as she could, she would toss those emotions aside.

As far as she was aware, Mercury had survived. She doubted that he could be killed, being more of a black hole than an actual living being. They likely had him locked away somewhere, or perhaps, one of the Squad members had managed to destroy him after all. It didn't help her to dwell on it. Sighing, Edwina moved to get out of bed, when she heard a heavy thud outside of their room.

Freezing, she maintained the darkness as best as she could, hopeful that Nyt hadn't fallen asleep yet. It looked like they'd have company.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Coroner's Office

Cecily raised an eyebrow. While she was relieved that Wallace wasn't dead, she could hardly claim to care about the man personally. It more reassured her that no one had decided to target each and every employee of the coroner's office, as she had suspected for a moment.

"You've got to learn to deliver news like that better," Cecily quipped, eyeing Gregory. "You made it sound like he'd kicked the bucket last night."

However, she couldn't deny that her interest was piqued. There was always a chance that Wallace could have been muttering something important, rather than his usual nonsense. Instantly, her mind kicked into overdrive, pondering whether or not Wallace could have been pushed down the stairs, rather than fall. She shook her head slightly, admonishing herself. Not everything was attempted murder. Accidents were still possible.

Pondering Gregory's offer, Cecily instinctively glanced down into her pocket where her phone remained. She'd have to call Caesar back at some point today, but with each minute, more cases appeared for her to work on. I guess I won't be able to see Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 today either... She paused a bit, an idea popping into her head. Perhaps she could kill two birds with one stone. In all the comic books she read, it was crucial to do these sort of meetings in a public place--why not a movie theater?

"Sure, I'll tag along," Cecily answered, smiling a bit. "Maybe the old git knows something important for once." She sighed slightly, her smiling vanishing as talk went back to the gun. She shook her head morosely, biting her lip. "It's gone...But I'm positive the guns are identical, if not one and the same."

Chloe "Tuesday" Ridgeway

Location: The Hotel

Tuesday had had a sleepless night.

It wasn't due to a fear of being killed in her sleep. It wasn't genuine terror at the movies they'd watched the previous night. It wasn't even stress over Cynthia, one of the most unbalanced people in town, sleeping in the same room as her. No, it was her least favorite part of drug use, right after detoxing: the hangover. As she'd learned in pre-med and through experience, cocaine hangovers could happen up to a day after use.

Her number happened to come up around midnight. The change in her brain's chemicals felt like being hit by a truck, and suddenly, her entire world had gone dark. Unable to sleep, she spent the night in agony, every decision thrown in her face and made out to be a failure. She experienced all of the pain she avoided and more, holing up in the bathroom for a good portion, hoping to vomit and get it all over with.

Yet no such mercy was in store. Tuesday wasn't certain whether she had eventually drifted off or had truly remained awake the entire night, dark circles underneath her eyes as she quietly observed Riley get dressed and leave the hotel room. Once her sister left, she relaxed. As far as she was concerned, Cynthia could see her go through the grips of a hangover. But Riley? She didn't need the sisterly lecture. Not now, when her head had started to pound, and her sadness turned into anxiety.

God, I could go for some cocaine right now... Tuesday thought miserably to herself, her throat dry. Green tea always remedied the situation, and she got up, attempting not to disturb Cynthia. Sometimes hotels would have tea packets in the room, and she searched, her hands shaking slightly as she went.

Perhaps she shouldn't have sold her entire stash, after all.

Located in the Town of New Beginnings...

The system provided most of the support currently in terms of selling wares and goods. Individuals would be able to become blacksmiths later on, so for now, the swords and armor that could be purchased randomly spawned. The individual behind the counter always looked the same, unwilling to bargain on prices. Should you at any point interact with a blacksmith in the Town of New Beginnings, heed this! For below you may find a listing of the wares, and due to the nature of this town, all of these wares are continually restocked...

Assorted weapons and daggers are not available due to the floor level. This shop does not complete custom orders.

Sayuki Kyasarin

Location: Floor 1 - Town of Beginnings
Interacting With: Her Fellow Beta Testers @BlueSky44, KasaiSenshi @alexfangtalon, Konoha @Ojo chan 42

Kyasarin's eyes flashed with awareness as KasaiSenshi introduced himself. His guild had been rather prominent, a force to be reckoned with. At one point, another beta tester had attempted to recruit her to join it, but given that she almost never stopped playing, she didn't enjoy the idea of waiting around for everyone to log online. Crippled in real life, it wasn't like she had anything better to do than escape to a reality where walking was not only possible, but easy.

Glancing over at a new girl, Kyasarin instantly saw that she didn't belong. "Never saw your username around before," Kyasarin commented idly, she leaned up against her sword, using it practically as a crutch against the ground. Another advantage of practically never logging off of Sword Art--Kyasarin knew almost every beta tester. Only ones who never showed up in the end evaded her knowledge.

However, before she could antagonize the stranger any further, the lead beta tester handed her fifty gold pieces. Her smirk widened into an honest grin as the money was added to her inventory. Perhaps the sword she'd used during beta testing was still available--surely they hadn't deleted it and gone with something else? Already musing of the upgrades she would buy, Kyasarin hardly paid much attention to the rest of his speech.

"Right," Kyasarin confidently stated, pulling up the drop down menu and sending a friend request to the top beta tester. "I'll message you once I've got better gear, and then we should talk strategy. Namely, guilds."

Hardly waiting for anyone to respond, Kyasarin made her way to the alley she remembered one of the less popular blacksmith shops being located in. It wasn't as if the quality was bad--it was a little more out of the way than most would like. However, less people used it, causing it to be far easier to get the weapons she'd want and need. If anyone watched Kyasarin as she went, they'd likely notice the ease with which she navigated the virtual world.

It was almost as if she was meant to be there.

Starkette

Location: Floor 1 - Deep in the Forest
Interacting With: Elouviana Zashira @KabenSaal, Campanella @Jedly, Stone @sMoKe

Starkette froze, her world going dark as her worst fears were realized. They recognize me! She groaned a bit, slowly turning to face...a cat. She blinked, attempting to figure out what was going on, when the individual practically bounced over to her. From what she could tell, they also must have been on their way out to hunt some monsters and to farm.

"Erm, hi..." Starkette greeted. "My name's Starkette...I was going out to farm if you want to join me."

A much more normal looking individual came over, and again, Starkette felt her nerves escalate. How many people are going to come over here, really? she sighed to herself, hoping desperately that one of the monsters would drop some sort of mask. "Yeah, experience is going to be key to survival, it seems. Farming makes sense if you don't like dying."

Of course, another individual approached her. Starkette wanted to slap her hand against her forehead in agony, but with the death game, she wasn't going to take a chance that that action would cause her to lose some of her precious CP. Her nerves shot up once more as the boy waved at them, though his thick accent reassured her. As far as she could tell, all of her anxiety was merely baseless paranoia. No one recognized her as Guinevere Stark.

"The more the merrier," Starkette replied with a smile. "I'm Starkette."

After all of the introductions, the group set off. Heading north, they didn't encounter too many other players on the way. Starkette bit her lip a bit, pondering whether or not that was for good reason. She'd never played this game before, and while she supposed most of the players could have been freaking out still in the Town of Beginnings, she couldn't help but be wary. The forest only grew thicker and thicker, and the game began to simulate darkness. Glancing over at her companions, she attempted to keep up her composure, while becoming more and more worried.

"I think we've gone in circles..." Starkette admitted. "We've gone past this boulder before."

She looked downward, realizing that the path was missing. No matter which direction she looked, there seemed to be nothing. However, Starkette could hear the clashing of swords, the screams of players, and the screech of a monster. Someone's being attacked, she realized. "This way. Be ready, I expect there are multiple monsters--XP and items to go around."

Starkette drew her sword, and pushing through the bushes, she stumbled upon a clearing. Two players had fallen into combat with three vicious looking bats, and Starkette bit her lip. This was it....Time to learn how to fight or die trying.
A reminder that when you receive an item, you must add it to your inventory! Otherwise, we assume you dropped it and left it behind. For example, those beta testers who received 50 Gold Pieces need to add that to their inventory, otherwise it's gone.

Swords and armor available for purchase on floor 1 have been rolled for, and prices set.
@Jedly We'll be sure to check those out!

I'll be posting myself at some point tonight.
@Jedly We do not currently have a theme song

Thanks for the photos! That helps me out loads :) I'll get the shops on floor 1 stocked tonight
Swords will randomly appear at the shops. Depending on the floor they're found on, the price will vary. I'll be rolling to see what swords appear and how much they cost. All things on floor 1 cost less than 50 gold however.
