The Port of Tortuga: April 4th, 1719 - 2:17 PM Local Time

@Dark Light@FantasyChic -

This time, the men don't push back. They allow you to proceed and leave the docks. In town, the crowd is still gathered around an entertainer. The woman is juggling fire, from what it seems, without any sign of burns or injury. Quite understandably, people are visibly impressed and are clamoring at her to spill her secrets. Beyond that, the port town is as it usually is--active, boisterous, and a bit charming to some. Rumors are flying about some little thing that vanished from the gallows the day before, with the rumor growing grander and grander each time it's told until the gallows have become the hangman's noose.

Harlianne James

Location: Near the Bellona - Port of Tortuga Docks

Quite understandably, none of the men stepped forward to sail under Mad Eyes. Whether it had been from stories of Harlianne's unorthodox methods, her gender, or the simple fact that she had murdered their previous captain, it wasn't clear. However, luck hadn't entirely abandoned Captain James, as none of the men directed their pieces towards her. Instead, the quartermaster stepped forward, hat in his hand.

"We disbanded, miss," the quartermaster explained, not even looking at the corpse of the former captain. "All the wares a been sold. Got no more reason to fly th' colors."

It was the smart move for them, of course. With the captain dead, that meant more loot for the rest of them. By the Code, the captain received two shares. And given his present condition, those shares didn't matter anymore. He couldn't possibly claim them. There was no reason to stick out their necks and risk death, when they could easily double their own take by simply taking what's theirs and leaving. It was bad luck to sail with a woman onboard anyways.

"Right then. I understand. Plunder yor black slimy guts out. It's keen," Harlianne replied, about to climb up the rope ladder when a shrill voice called out for her to wait. Harlianne let out an exasperated sigh, swinging around to face the offender. It was none other than Alice Blackwood. Typical peer. Harlianne scowled.

"Wot the hell fire do yer want, eh?" Harlianne asked.

"Would you be so kind as to escort us to Γ‰douard Riviere? I can reward you for your troubles," Alice requested, completely oblivious to the way Jean's eye twitched. Jean had worked with some odd ladies before, having worked in the Crypt Household for a few years, but Alice seemed to have the least common sense of any noble she had ever encountered. She was asking pirates for help, after all.

"'ow much brass are we goin' on about?" Harlianne replied after a pause, a bit of a smirk on her face. She didn't want to leave her ship unattended, but one of her girls should be back soon. And she wasn't one to pass up a potential profit.

Aravis Zacharia

Location: the Faithful Bride - Port of Tortuga

The walk to the Faithful Bride was relatively quick. Compared to the other taverns in Tortuga, it was an oasis of peace and serenity. Sure, people were sitting around laughing and drinking, but relatively few things were being thrown and hey, you could even see the floor! It was clean and pleasant, one of the main reasons it did well as an inn. They rented out a few rooms, though the best two were inhabited by Miguel and his sister, Catalina.

Once inside, Aravis headed up to the bar and exchanged a few quick words with the barkeep. Anastasia's sash was doing a decent job at keeping her from losing more blood, but she'd still need stitches. The sash was just a temporary solution. But fortunately, Catalina was upstairs and from the barkeep's expression, this wasn't the first time someone had come to Catalina for help.

Heading back over towards Elissa and Anastasia, Aravis explained what the barkeep had told her. "Catalina'll do it, apparently. It'll be at least five shillings." Of course, the Faithful Bride was owned by two Spaniards, but with the mixture of people in the area everyone took about just every currency. It was practically custom to explain prices in shillings, francs, and reals. "She's upstairs. Last room on the left."

Nora Kingston

Location: Cairo - Headed Towards The Museum

Nora enjoyed the side streets and the less traveled paths through Cairo. While she herself was not a native to the land, the tourist attractions struck her as gaudy and off putting. It was a shame how the tourist thoroughfares clogged up the main streets of Cairo, but Nora also supposed that the real joy was the journey. Nora's gentle pat of her hand was a comforting one, though her eyes widened slightly at the news that Neema had been at the dig in Bubastis. The more she learned about Neema, the more it struck her as odd that they would meet by chance. Nora did not believe in fate or destiny, yet for this to have been purely coincidence felt so strange.

"Lady Munn did discover some tiles in the archives last night," Nora replied, giving more information to Neema. "I am sure she would be more than willing to allow us to search for more items of interest." Yet Neema hadn't just mentioned tiles. She had mentioned that other items were donated as well. How much of this puzzle was collecting dust in the museum, pieces that they had not thought to examine the previous evening? It would be a cruel twist of fate if everything they needed appeared to be in the museum already and an expedition to Bubastis was not needed.

She giggled slightly at Neema's words about the cats. They did appear to be everywhere in Cairo, a fact that amused Nora's dog, Spot, to no end. It struck Nora as a bit odd that the cats seemed to be watching them, though she supposed that could easily be explained as paranoia. There was no reason to believe that the cats were watching the pair of them in particular, was there? And while Nora did favor dogs over cats, she could not deny how adorable the little felines were.
Oh Chloe's gonna be piiiiiiissed.

Will get a post up tonight or tomorrow

Hello, children. It's been a while since we spoke, but I figured that it was time. You see, you're all such trusting and innocent souls...even those of you who claim to be stained with darkness. But my friends, this is Coventry. Why do you trust those who have nothing to gain if they do not deceive you? Why do you put your faith in puppets, tangling yourselves in strings? This is the most that I can do to help you, you must understand.

There is a traitor in your group. I myself do not know who it is, but I know that only more horrors await you. Did you really think one demon could be responsible for so much pain, for so much tragedy? No, no my dears, you have not yet become acquainted with your final foe, a foe that even Death herself cannot see.

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Cirque Anomaly, Main Tent - December 28th, 2016 - 6:31 P.M. Local Time
Interacting With: Faust and the Demon Elimination Squad (@BlueSky44@Nallore@Witch Cat@FantasyChic)

Andromeda and Fairfax had rushed into the tent along with Eudora and Emmie, just in time to watch Folly soar through the air to land on top of Faust. However, Folly's appearance also brought the return of further pain to Fairfax, with the man slumping to the ground before even reaching the stage. Andromeda remained behind with him, banging up her knee slightly as she dragged the man onto a chair, hoping to keep him upright.

"Fairfax? Fairfax, can you hear me?" Andromeda asked, frantically checking the man for a pulse, but she was no doctor. She was out of her element with no idea of what to do. And as far as she was aware, there wasn't a single doctor in the tent.

"Fairfax, hold on, help is going to come," Andromeda said, noting the sweat covering Fairfax's skin. The man's pulse was feeble at best. If he didn't get medical attention soon, it was likely he would die. It wasn't the future that didn't agree with him--it was the future when it proximity to Folly that was trying to kill him. Andromeda's eyes widened, recalling the whispers between Folly and Eudora, and Fairfax's look of pride when he saw the little girl. No one else looked at the little murderer like that.

"Time is trying to correct itself!" Andromeda whispered, as everything began to become a little clearer. Time must have been distorted from all of their traveling back and forth. And when Fairfax was near his direct descendent, time attempted to fix the distortion by killing the man. The theory didn't fit all of the facts, however--Folly should have been on the brink of death as well back in the past when near Fairfax. Or was it because she didn't exist there that time didn't know what to do?

An idea may strike Eudora, however. A blood spell did require several ingredients to send a user back in time, but to stop time? The incantation itself and a bit of Fairfax's blood would do. It may just be the only way to save Fairfax's life.

"You're a time dragon, I see," Faust muttered to himself, chuckling even with Folly keeping his head to the ground. With superhuman strength he got up, causing Folly to tumble backwards in the process, before turning to face Eudora. He cocked an interested eyebrow at Boris on the ground, seemingly pleased and impressed that the madman perished. He then snapped his fingers, tossing Eudora up in the air about ten feet before dropping her. She'll survive the landing, but it won't feel good at all...

"Folly! So glad you chose to join us, shame about your father though," Faust taunted. "But don't worry--you'll see him soon enough."

Aloise Zamora

Location: The Morgue - December 28th, 2016 - 6:31 P.M. Local Time
Interacting With: Olivia Johnson @Nallore

Aloise grimaced at Olivia's confirmation. Mephistopheles was responsible for both murders, then. Andromeda had been correct in her deductions earlier. Demons were relatively common foes, but that didn't mean they were easy to take on in the slightest. It was one thing to simply fight them--another to actually win and kill them. Hell, even banishing them back to hell was a dangerous affair. She knew more hunters who had been killed by demons than ones who had killed demons themselves.

"Interesting. Two different M.O.'s but classified as the same killer?" Aloise asked, mostly to keep up the illusion of being from the CDC. She knew very well why the killers were said to be the same--the note in blood and the coordinates? It was the very same blood. Not just the same type, but the same DNA as well. It was the real M.O. of the killer, not the method of death.

Pulling out her phone, Aloise had a hunch about the coordinates. The news hadn't been released to the public, for obvious reasons, but word had gotten around the hunter community. The O.M.E.N. leaders were still classified as missing, in order to prevent a public panic, but as Aloise saw where the coordinates indicated, she felt her hunch practically confirmed. The coordinates were for Kansas--the home state of the O.M.E.N. leaders. Another search on her phone and she found a few local articles about O.M.E.N. taking over a crime scene, along with mass speculation about whether or not this would be a repeat of Altsoba.

"Thank you, Doctor," Aloise said, putting the phone away. "Now this may sound odd, but has anyone been acting strange lately?" Of course, one prime candidate would come to Olivia's mind--Gus, one of the lab techs, had been behaving oddly for a few days. He was an eccentric individual before but now, now he was just different. Unsettling, even.

October Crypt

Location: Salem Train Station - December 28th, 2016 - 6:31 P.M. Local Time
Interacting With: Carolina Reed @Nallore, Liam Matthews @Pundii, Detective Hanson, Agent Keenan

October barely held back a laugh at Carolina's antics. She bit her lips and covered her eyes slightly, though she spread her fingers so that way she could still watch Liam strip himself and begin to flirt with the brunette. She was thankful that the man wasn't facing them, so that way she and Carolina didn't have to see his member. "Not exactly what I had in mind, Carol," October quipped, crouching down to Liam's discarded clothes and fishing out his wallet. All eyes were on the naked Prophet, allowing October's small theft to go unseen.

In his wallet, October found at least half a dozen IDs. Any of them could have been genuine. She frowned slightly, before shrugging a bit and slipping them all into her purse. "He's a criminal or a spy. Maybe even O.M.E.N.," October whispered to Carolina. She then put the wallet back in the pile, just in time to watch the brunette send Liam flying.

One good kick was all it took, it seemed. The kick had been to Liam's stomach, thankfully, and not the family jewels. It sent him a few feet back as he fell, right in front of one very disappointed Agent Keenan. "Huntahs," Keenan sighed, before pulling out a pair of cuffs and cuffing Liam to the information booth. Keenan couldn't help but feel disgusted and repulsed by Liam's actions. He'd definitely write this up and send it into his superiors, which would most likely result with Liam becoming a registered sex offender. But on the bright side, Carolina wasn't controlling Liam's actions any more!

Hanson, of course, was shaking with laughter. The entire situation was so comical and he couldn't believe that anyone would actually strip naked in a train station to flirt. Taking a few steps forward, Hanson grabbed Liam's trousers and then tossed them at the man, unaware that Liam's wallet had already been pilfered. "What the hell were you thinking?" Hanson asked, wiping a tear away from his eye.

"Doesn't mattah," Keenan warned, before turning his gaze towards the brunette, who was already back on her phone. "You okay, ma'am? That was one hell of a kick."

"I'm fine," the brunette answered simply, not even looking up.
