Gene Benaszewski & Nora Kingston

Location: Train To Athribis
Skills: N/A
"This is all conjecture but... Given that our markings designate us as protecting the Bastet and the averse reaction of the cat earlier, her sacred animal, to those with Set... I believe we are meant to be rivals," Nora told Mahendra softly. She did not care much for the idea but it explained the pattern that had been observed. Some of those that had been branded were selected by one cosmic side - and the others a different side altogether. Whether one of these sides was inherently good or evil, she could not say.

"Theories of my own?" Gene smirked slightly, thinking for a moment. This was ultimately their quest and she wasn't too certain as to whether or not to divulge extra information. However, she decided to allow events to proceed as they would have without her - giving them her exact ideas may prove counterproductive, after all. Some things were meant to be a certain way and she did not wish to disrupt the cosmic flow. "Well, now if I had found myself branded and these strange things happening around me, I wouldn't fight them. Accept them. And if you are confused, and one area of search provides no answers.... Try another. Keep an open mind," she told him. She reached into her pockets and thumbed the pack of tarot cards that she kept on her. She then gave a little wink towards Belladonna, happy to see that there was another one here who shared her particular viewpoint.

Nora had been about to ask Gene her particular method for finding answers, when the Lord Major exclaimed that they were at Athribis - or at least, that it was coming into view. She did not pay too much attention to the talk of Constitution and Codes amongst the military men, figuring that her brain power would be better dedicated to understanding their peculiar situation. Perhaps Gene had been right. If traditional mathematics and science could not yield an explanation... perhaps they simply were not searching for answers properly. She disliked the idea of turning to myth and magic, things traditionally thought of as impossible but... The impossible had already occurred.

"Perhaps they are trying to," Gene pointed out to Mahendra, as he lamented that the animals could not pass along wisdom. "Animals are far more intelligent creatures than most realize. Pay attention and you may find something you overlooked." She had known a few animals in her time that she took to be more intelligence than most of the people on this train at the moment. It was frustrating to see these people so concentrated on an answer having to be obtained a certain way, fixing what the end result must be in their mind. The future was never so fixed and reality was ever changing in her experience. It was one of the reasons why she loved tarot readings and kept a deck of tarot cards on her at all times. They gave a reflection, a glimpse of what might be - but not necessarily what had to be.

Virginia Crypt

Location: Carlisle/Road to Gretna Green
Skills: N/A

"Oh, I see the source of my misunderstanding. Thank you," Virginia said politely, though her spirits had fallen slightly. She had assumed that in his travels, Ny had encountered him in India or that he somehow knew such things inside of the book. Yet given his explanation of how those with the abilities of India did not travel far, she understood his logical leap that her father must have been there. Virginia wished that it was how she assumed - that she could know of her mother's welfare but the Lady Dywell was strong. She knew that her mother would not go down easily. And if her father had survived, she felt it was safe to assume that her mother had as well.

Her thoughts drifted towards her childhood as the carriage continued to journey down the road to Gretna Green. She had been a little devil, as nearly all Crypt children were. She recalled once out in the countryside when her father came home with a hearse for the day and they had made figure 666's all around. It was one of her happiest memories and she wished that James would be able to have something similar. The Russian Circus seemed the closest place to a Crypt upbringing that she could attain for him, and it would have the added benefit of ensuring that he would be trained. Yet she glanced back outside the window of the carriage, the train of thought coming to an end as she wondered what she would find at Gretna Green.

Maeve Brennan

Location: House Kirkpatrick - the Parlor
Skills: N/A

Maeve nodded, absorbing the information that Lady Kirkpatrick told her. She had to wonder who the other enemy was then, if Millicent's husband to be was not the guilty party. Giving another nod, Maeve went off and fetched parchment and ink, having figured out where it was kept during her earlier assistance with Millicent. She returned and gave the requested items to the Lady Kirkpatrick, wondering what exactly she was about to do. She knew that from the sounds of it, her nephew was either going to be killed or disowned - with this woman, she had the feeling that the former was far more likely.

"If 'er fiance isn't de one ter watch for... Who is?" Maeve asked. Lady Kirkpatrick hadn't given her any indication so far that she would be kept in the dark when it came to any of this, so she didn't feel a need to hold back each question that crossed her mind. Besides, she was here to work for her. Knowing the Lady Kirkpatrick's enemies would allow her to better serve her and protect her interests. She wondered who the Gerard was that Millicent had mentioned in her letter - clearly someone that she imagined would give her aid and help, perhaps another member of the peerage? At any rate, her gut told her that Lady Kirkpatrick's approach to solving this problem would benefit Millicent in the end.

Guin Stark

Hawkeye rolled his eyes slightly at Lance, not all too amused by his argument. There was a huge difference between them and these kids - they had experience, Guin and Lance did not. "Once you've been trained and fought an alien invasion, then sure kid, you can make that argument," Barton told him bluntly. Widow nodded slightly, her thoughts having echoed his own. The kids were liabilities here. They weren't ready to fight anyone - much less the Hulk and/or Madman. "Whatever Cap, kinda just heard that speech from Bird Man," Guin said, rolling her eyes at the Star Spangled Man with a Plan.

"Guinevere," Black Widow warned, not really like the tone - she didn't care for Lance's tone either and she could see the light coming off of his hands. It wasn't like he was trying to hide it at all. "...Nice shot," she then commented, as Lance used his powers to destroy the bit of roof that was coming their way. "Now let the adults handle this, got it?"

"Ugh, fine, whatever..." Guin mumbled. The convergence had ended and since the machine was destroyed, there would be no more absorption of cosmic radiation of any sort by Madman.

Asgard - Some Time Ago....

Baldur and Nanna had been invited to a feast thrown by Odin for his children and their spouses. However, they had had a child less than a year ago and were worried to leave her alone. They also didn't quite trust their son, Forseti, with a child. He had a nasty habit of doling out punishment that they were attempting to cure the young adult of - and besides, he had been invited to come along to the All Father's gathering too. This meant that Baldur's niece, Klara, had been asked to babysit for a few hours. Baldur's grand home was secured and baby proofed, and at the moment, baby Runa had somehow managed to get out of her crib and was crawling to freedom!

Klara wasn't too sure what to do, she'd never really been around babies before, as she didn't have any siblings. She went to go see Runa and saw that she was crawling away. "Hey, where do you think you're going?" Klara asked, before she walked over and picked her up. "You aren't supposed to do that I don't think."

Baby Runa made a bit of a funny face, giggling as she looked at Klara.

Klara couldn't help but giggle slightly right back at her. She sat down in a chair, holding onto her. "You are a bit of a troublemaker," she said happily, before she created a bit of a swirl effect with water up in the air above Runa.

The baby glanced up at the water for a moment, still making that funny face, before she then let out a stream of practically projectile vomit, hitting Klara in the face. When she finished, baby Runa clapped her hands together, proud of what she had done. She just shrugged slightly in response, using her powers to clean herself off rather quickly with water. "You are so silly, why do you think that is funny?" she said, shaking her head.

"Probably because she's a baby," Forseti commented, standing in the doorway. He seemed to have appeared in a beam of light.

"Aren't you supposed to be at some party or whatever?" Klara asked, glancing over at Forseti.

"Father forgot something, asked me to come back and grab it," Forseti said, walking over. "Now give me my sister. I'm going to take over for you, since you're clearly in over your head."

"No I'm not! They asked me to watch her, and that is what I plan on doing!" she said, shaking her head. Klara didn't really care for Forseti, and was a bit annoyed with him that he was thinking she couldn't take care of Runa.

"You're not even a century old - you honestly probably need someone to watch you," Forseti said, rolling his eyes. He surrounded the baby in light and tugged her on over to him and into his arms. Little Runa then started to cry.

"I do not! And you're making her cry!" she yelled at him, before going over to try and take Runa from him.

"She's crying because you're yelling," Forseti pointed out, holding Runa out of Klara's reach since he was a few feet taller than the eleven year old.

"Give her back Forseti!" Klara said, before she kicked him in the shin.

The kick caused the God of Justice and Retribution to lose his grip on the baby, as he bent forward. Runa was crying and she was there one moment and the next, she had gone poof as a little thing of darkness appeared and swallowed her up. "Damn it you made me lose my sister!" Forseti snapped. Baldur and Nanna had warned Klara that Runa sometimes teleported with shadows when upset.

Klara just rolled her eyes, "Well you weren't being nice!" she said, before she took off trying to find Runa now.

"I knew Mother and Father shouldn't have left her with you!"

"Go away! I can deal with this even if you can't!"

Forseti huffed, before he walked to the darkest room in the home. It didn't have any natural light coming in through the windows and his mother, Nanna, had covered the ceiling in moon lilies. It was his sister's favorite place to disappear to and once he arrived, he saw Runa trying to eat one of the flowers.

Klara raced into the room and simply picked Runa up to stop her from eating the flowers. "You shouldn't be doing that," she said simply, before carrying Runa out of the room, ignoring Forseti now.

Runa started to cry, wanting her flowers back. "She loves that room," Forseti told Klara.

"I can tell." she said in response, getting more annoyed that Forseti was telling her what to do.

"Look, she's my baby sister, let me take care of her."

"No, you are a big bully and think that I can't do anything. Your parents asked me to do it, and that is what I plan on doing, so go away."

Forseti bit his lip. "If anything happens to my sister, I'll hold you accountable," he said, his eyes flashing red for a moment before he left and returned to Odin's party.

"He's such a bully... I feel sorry for you Runa for having him for a brother."

Runa just made a buzzing sound with her lips, looking up at Klara and reaching her tiny hand out.

"You are so cute little Runa..." Klara said with a smile. She loved being with her little cousin, way better than she liked being around her older cousin Forseti. He was a bit on the controlling side in her opinion.

The baby then poked Klara's nose and giggled. Klara couldn't help but laugh, and she poked the baby's nose lightly in response to that. Runa then made another buzzing sound and then wrinkled her face up as she pooped in the Asgardian equivalent of a diaper. Klara said nothing, having been told how to take care of a baby a little bit before Baldur and Nanna had left, so she went and changed Runa's diaper fairly quickly.

"Kla-Kla," Baby Runa giggled.

"What did you just say?" Klara asked, looking at the baby with a smile.

"Kla-Kla!"

"You tried to say my name..." she was still smiling at the little baby Runa.

"Setty," Runa said, before just making a lot of random cooing noises.

"Now you are talking about the completely annoying bully Forseti. I still feel a bit bad that he of all people is your older brother..."

Baby Runa just started giggling, continuing to make nonsense baby noises. Klara created a slight whirlpool effect of swirls above them, just sending it swirling around and around.
Asgard: May 11th, 12,508 - 7:15 PM

Arnora's question was readily answered - his adopted children were still with their babysitters of sorts. The twins had opted out of the wedding ceremony, as today was especially hard for them. It was the anniversary of the death of their parents and neither of them had been up to leave their dwelling that day. It was a similar answer for Antonije, and he was spending the day of mourning with his girlfriend, Sylvi.

Once everyone was seated, with Bruce's parents and siblings in the front row on the grooms side and various gods of Asgard present, the ceremony began. Arnora's mother, the Goddess of Winter, had a small circle of ice around her chair and she gave her daughter a slight wink. She hadn't reached out to Arnora yet in the week she had been on Asgard - this was essentially the first contact that they had had this week. "I may cry," Runa whispered to Lance as Klara stood at the altar, the betrothed couple in front of her. The swords and rings glittered.

"So, we are all here obviously to finally have these two get married after what happened a few weeks ago. Though that definitely would be a day to sort of remember anyway. So without further ado, let's get this show on the road already. Today we have here Myth and Bruce, two people who honestly haven't really known each other for very long, at least in the eyes of an Asgardian... Anyway, they are starting a family together now, which is something all can really hope for, and finding love is not exactly a simple task really, but somehow the two of them had found it, and now here they are, to declare that for everyone. Now, as per the usual with this sort of thing there is the sacrifice of the goat to my father Thor, though let me just say Midgardians are really weird that way... The whole thing with the goat started because I wanted a pet goat, and people kept killing them instead, so I claim it as mine and it is now named Mr. Buttons and he is my goat. Now that we have that out of the way, now you may exchange vows and swords..."
The Castle: May 11th, 12,508 - 6:15 PM

@KazAlkemi@eclecticwitch: At the Palace barracks...

"Oh, no, you can't," Apollodora said simply, as Amarantha asked if they could bring back the ExtraOrdinary Wizard quickly. "She brings herself back. I'm not sure when exactly, I always found my mother's penchant for detail to be irksome. Never really bothered listening to her when she gave the exact dates." She shrugged slightly, as if explaining why she didn't know how her mother took her tea, rather than when her mother came back from the dead essentially.

She then sighed a bit, realizing that this explanation likely wouldn't be enough for them. "Well, technically she never really comes back - as you know her now - the mind gets scrambled when in another dimension... So when she comes back, she won't really be Arya - you catch my meaning? Probably not. But essentially - she won't remember who she is. She'll just have all of this power and no idea what to do with it...." Apollodora waited slightly, imagining that the two of them would have more questions.

"Cute baby though," she commented, giving Mona a smile.

@FantasyChic: Over in the Badlands, far from the Castle itself....

Constance smiled slightly, getting a bit of an idea. "If we need more numbers... Then let us go to the Witch Country," she said. It was a country across the sea, on the same continent as the Lagoon. It was entirely ruled by witches, with the various Covens controlling different regions. One Coven would be the ruler of them all, until their Witch Mother was defeated by another, causing a transfer of power. "If you were to beat the Witch Queen - then you would have those legions to add to your numbers," Constance suggested.

"And it just so happens that we have the granddaughter of a Witch Mother from the Witch Country in our ranks - she can train you for the duel if you wish to go down that path," Bernice added. She was referring to Acantha Hex - a trigger happy witch. She was the one that had suggested robbing the Manuscriptorium in order to find a cure for the Sickenesse.

"As for the babe... We disguise Bernice and send her to them as a midwife, perhaps?" Constance mused.

Myrus Silvers

Location: the Palace - Dining Hall
Skills: N/A

Myrus nodded slightly. There was an inscription on the inside of the ring, one that made very little sense to him. "It says the Red King..." he told Luna quietly. He knew that there had been a Red Queen thousands of years ago who ruled a terrifying empire in the Desert of the Singing Sands, but there had never been a mention of a Red King as far as he was aware of. Whatever the inscription on the ring referred to... it was just as mysterious and obscured as his father's message had been. What did he mean by hellfire? How would this ring protect them?

He nodded slightly at Luna's suggestion to take it to the wizards or the scribes - he didn't think the wizards would be much help at the moment. Rowland had only just resumed the post and there was so much he had to do since Arya's death. Myrus' expression softened at the very thought. She had died to protect the Castle - sacrificing her life so that way others could live. Would he himself be capable of something like that one day? Could he do it now? He knew that he would trade places with his siblings if they were in mortal peril in a heartbeat but... for strangers? It was the noblest thing he could think of. "N-no, you aren't going to be bait! I-I can't lose you..." Myrus' eyes started watering.

As for Ahote's suggestion of an Alchemist... The only one he could think of was Selesia Rincewind and she had just buried an empty coffin. He didn't think she would be much help right now. "Valda, maybe you can use Magyk to see what it is?" he asked softly, not really sure how it worked.

Guin Stark

"Not great, I'd imagine," Black Widow commented, thinking for a moment. Hawkeye then nodded at her and he took his bow, firing off an arrow with a line connected to it. The grappling arrow hit a nearby building and secured itself. "I got this," Barton said, grabbing Guin, and he went off a run, jumping off the building and she couldn't help but scream at the top of her lungs. They went straight through a window, the glass shattering. Black Widow then pulled out a grappling hook device of sorts as well and repeated the process, this time grabbing onto Lance. She figured that Cap would be able to find a way down safely.

"Now stay here - don't interfere, got it?" Black Widow said harshly.

"But we were only trying to help!" Guin protested. She had some cuts on her from the glass when they broke the window, but it wasn't anything too serious.

"Putting yourselves in danger, making our mission more complicated isn't helping," Hawkeye told them bluntly. "Guin, you have no powers. And Lance, you have no training. What do you think was going to happen out there - that you would save the day? No."

"What do you think would happen to your fathers if you had died?" Widow then asked.

Guin bit her lip. She was stubborn and defiant, but she looked up to Nat and Clint. Having them chew her out like this... she didn't like it, at all. Tapping her foot rapidly, she just nodded slightly, knowing better than to argue with them. They were right. It had been dumb and dangerous of them. "...We just wanted to help like you guys do..." Guin said softly.

"We're Avengers. You're just kids."

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Grimm, Indiana (Police Station)
Skills: N/A

Cecily bit her lip slightly, not really shell shocked at seeing the blood on the wall. She was telling herself this was just a crime scene in order to stay calm, to not let her paranoia get the better of her. The type of killer that left behind messages like these... They were the ones that got nicknames, that the press would sensationalize. This wasn't a contract killer, not someone who did this for a living. "Once all the stars are gone..." she mumbled, feeling a lot of dread. There was a star in her life that came from Grimm - Riley Ridgeway. And for a small sleepy little town, a lot of important individuals seemed to come out of it - the deceased FBI agent, for example. "Where's Riley?" Cecily then asked Roy.

"Since I don't know about you, but is it a coincidence that the murderous hometown of a rockstar just happens to have a message like this written? Maybe it is just a coincidence but... I'd rather be careful. I don't want to risk anything happening to her..." she finished, her voice a bit soft. Cecily didn't know what her feelings for Riley were. She knew that she didn't want to sleep with Riley - but she liked the idea of having someone to cuddle, someone's hand to hold, and someone to argue over whether to get generic cereal or Frosted Flakes for breakfast. The blood was definitely fresher going this way, and she wished again that she had a sample kit with her.

Leda Storm

Location: Granite Falls, North Carolina, Outside of Crystal River School For Troubled Youth, Parking Lot

"You would be a fantastic, bitchy spelling teacher," Leda told Kristen with a fake smile. Sure, she had asked but that didn't matter to Leda. Sometimes she wanted to just duct tape the know it all's mouth shut, but somehow the daughter of Athena would continue to annoy her. They were the children of Greek gods after all - tragedy was the endgame. And having to hear Kristen drone on and on about how much smarter she was than everyone else? That was the perfect definition of tragedy. Cracking her knuckles slightly, she wished that she had some tunes to listen to as transformed her necklace into her sword, ultraviolet. It was giving off a slight orange glow - meaning that Leda was feeling impatient and restless. It tended to be orange a lot.

Combing her skills in agility and sword-fighting with her goddess given gift of super speed, Leda went off at a run, cutting down a cyclops at a speed that made her look like a blur to the others. She let out a little victory whoop as it turned into dust, jabbing her sword through another one but she only severely injured it. Leda then zipped on over to Roman and hit him with the butt of her sword, knocking him to the ground. "Are you not entertained?" she asked, slowing down enough so that way people could hear her voice and not just distorted blurbs of noise. Swinging her sword slightly, she was looking forward to the next one she got to run her sword through.

Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp - Main House - Room 101: Sitting Room
Skills: N/A

Andromeda wasn't really sure how she felt about Giouse's proposal - that they needed to face the dragon without training and hope to not get eaten? She didn't want to bring it up, but they all had faced some form of a dragon before - and they all lost. They had died. No one here died from natural causes as far as she had been able to tell. She caught the name that Faith mentioned - Miss Babylon - and it struck her as significant. No ordinary person in her experience had a name like that - at least, not when it came to the Emendators. Gilbert's words then indicated that it wasn't only Faith that would need additional training - that they all would. They had been doing so much grueling training so far, but it hadn't been specific to their abilities, that much was true.

She nodded at James, giving him a slight smile as he checked in on her. "Thanks James - I appreciate it," Andromeda said softly. His hand on her shoulder was more comforting than she would have cared to admit and she returned her attention to Siduri. Chateau de Babylon? Yes, her earlier guess was right - whoever Miss Babylon was, she was clearly powerful and important. People rarely had buildings named after them and were consulted on the apocalypse if that wasn't the case. At Siduri's words on choosing the dragon to face, the dread in her stomach grew again. The apocalypse that Siduri was here to discuss... Eve's disappearance was just a side quest on the main storyline. At the very least, like a video game, the loop gave them all the time in the world in theory.

Guin Stark

"Would you rather I shout something horribly depressing?" Guin asked Lance, a bit miffed that he had been annoyed with her cheesy line. She had always wanted to say it and it wasn't like Cap was saying it a lot these days. However, she was focusing on working with the contraption at the moment. It was a program that she had seen at least twice before and that was enough for the Stark heiress to figure out what to do. "It'll take too long to explain but basically, I'm doing the equivalent of opening up task manager and shutting this thing down," Guin told Lance. Her mind was racing and she didn't want to go through the slight time delay it would take to explain her thoughts. She typed in a final line of code and hit enter, her left toes wiggling rapidly with nerves - and then the device shut down. "There. Now he can't take in any more cosmic radiation," she told Lance. "But for safety.... Mind blasting this thing with a laser light show?"

"Allow me," Thor said with a smile, throwing his hammer up into the air and collecting a lightning strike. He then threw the lightning at the machine and fried its components beyond use. "You can get the next one," he told Lance with a chuckle.

"YOU WANT THE HULK?" the Hulk shouted at Madman, becoming angrier and angrier. Thor was throwing his hammer into the melee, making sure to target Madman and not his ally. Black Widow, meanwhile, motioned for Steve to come over with her. Hawkeye did as well.

"We need to get the kids out of here," she told her human companions, knowing that they wouldn't be much use in a battle of Hulks. Tony was the only one with the equipment needed to take on one of the monsters and Thor had the raw strength and endurance needed for it as well.
