Walnut had half a mind to ask the woman talking about what this was meant to be how she envisioned the end result of this all to be. All of the murder and intrigue that had occurred so far was escalating, with the first death of someone not invited to be a part of this masquerade. All of the other deaths so far had been people invited by the blackmailer presumably to come here to Shadowell Manor. Had the blackmailer killed the Lord? Or was it simply one of their number, irritated by the man? One woman was being particularly loud about this and Walnut could not help but roll her eyes. "Shouting will get you nowhere," she muttered, darting a glance in Rave's direction. She was altogether even more annoyed, noticing that the woman had her almost-minion tending to her slightly. At the very least, all of this seemed to have shut up the Chanteuse - Walnut was grateful to whoever had accomplished that.
A funny thought then struck her - the Lord had thanked the individual, whoever they were, that had killed Kindle with the chair, as he had one less mouth to feed. Would he appreciate his own death then, since it reduced the number of people needing to be fed and housed? The corners of her mouth twitched slightly as she tried not to smile at the slight irony.
Unfortunately, Swamp was not similarly silenced as Amaranthine had been. He offered to do an examination and Walnut found that to be fitting - the man had killed his last patient, at least there was not much harm he could do to a corpse. It wasn't like Swamp could kill the man again. There was then some changes as to who was in the room, with Walnut's new least favorite person, a chatty nurse, adding herself into the mixture. Knowing better than to go up to the corpse right now, Walnut glanced around the room, before approaching the woman she had heard talk before - Blush.
"It appears I missed a great deal... Might you inform me as to what happened?" Walnut asked the woman. "I would owe you a debt."

Ultron couldn't help but laugh, staring at the two girls who had torn off its chest plate. The arc reactor core that powered the robot was exposed and a decent target now. Ultron hadn't planned on killing them just yet, but an exception could be made. Leaving a metal manipulator alive was a risky move at any rate. "You know what another word for an arc reactor power source could be, Agent Abercrombie?" Ultron taunted. "A bomb," he clarified.
Since its arms were free, Ultron took advantage of that. The pulling on his circuitry and chest plate done by Novikova and Abercrombie had brought back online Ultron's left arm. Extending its arms, Ultron sent a repulsor blast at Novikova. The first one missed. The second hit her straight in the chest, the momentum sending Novikova flying backwards and she crumpled down against the wall like a rag doll. Her glasses fell off of her face and hit the floor, but it didn't matter anymore. Ultron had killed her.
Raynor was breathing, but his skin was still ashen grey and he wasn't conscious. Bonnie anxiously checked his pulse again, before she went off at a sprint over towards Novikova. She did the same thing with her, finding that she had no pulse. Her clothing had melted into her skin where Ultron's blast had hit her and Bonnie knew there was nothing she could do for her - and nothing Tempest could do for her. There was a killer robot between them anyways. "Time of death - 3:15 AM," Bonnie whispered, having checked the clock and she closed Novikova's eyes. Tinley had told people to protect the injured or attack the robot.
"Get my parents out of here," Hope said, using the neural transmitter to control the bugs. All of the bugs started to crawl over to the robot, taking advantage of how Abercrombie and Novikova had exposed Ultron's internal wiring. Unfortunately, she was using a neural transmitter and the robot simply started putting out a signal of his own, interfering with Hope's control over the bugs. The bugs fell off of the robot in confusion. Ultron then shot forward, using its thrusters and the robot grabbed Hope, before throwing her against a wall and knocking her unconscious.
Janet Van Dyne wasn't about to let everyone else do the heavy lifting. Pym was unconscious - understandable, as he was old and had been set on fire by Flynn and choked by Ultron - so she grabbed her husband and started helping him over to Tempest. She didn't know what Tempest was going to do for him, but her gut instinct told her to trust the girl. Her husband clearly had, at any rate, and she had gotten Ultron to release him. "The burns are bad - and his throat is a bit crushed," she explained quietly, having medical expertise herself.
Spider-Gwen had gotten up without too much trouble - she was young, teenagers bounced back quickly - and she shot some webs up at the ceiling. Using them to swing around, she started sending as much webbing as she could at Ultron's arms, trying to anchor the robot down that way people could get a clean shot at the arc reactor. "Boom!" Spider-Gwen cheered, figuring that she was successful.
However, Ultron's arms started to rotate rapidly, spikes coming out and destroying the webbing with ease.
"Cheater!" Spider-Gwen complained.
Barton was a bit annoyed with the Spider-Child, wondering if it was part of their job description to be young and whiny. "I've got him," Barton said, nocking an EMP arrow and letting it fly. EMPs disrupted electronics and had been used before by various groups, such as the X-Men when they were dealing with O.M.E.N.'s sentinels. It looked like the arrow was going to hit the arc reactor, but Ultron let out a repulsor blast, splitting the arrow and rendering it useless. "Nice try," Ultron quipped. It then sent a blast at the wall, making a new exit. The robot was going to try to escape.
@mattmanganon Actually, we are going to be at a timeskip soon. If you are still interested, please get in contact with me via PM. You would be joining us after Ultron has taken over the world.
Frost International isn't too far from the Waterfront - it's located in the downtown portion of Washington D.C., approximately fifteen blocks away from where they are currently. They can walk there without too much difficulty, though it's rather humid outside at the moment and not that pleasant. Another option would be to hail an Uber and hope that the driver isn't a Purifier (and doesn't realize they're mutants!) Of course, there is also the metro but do you really want to get packed into a car without functioning air conditioning right now? Gross! At any rate, no matter what choice they make, they'll be able to get to Frost International at the end of your post.
The Morlock Tunnels - Washington D.C. Sewers:
Erg grimaced slightly - there were reasons why he had issues with Stretch and his brother was one of them. Unlike the rest of the Morlocks, Stretch lived a double life - he continued to go and act on the surface, as if the people up there could accept him. His elasticity meant that no mark could stay on his face even if they tried, and his ability to change his appearance made him ideal for getting the food and medicine the Morlocks needed to survive. "I agreed with you once, Leighton," Erg said quietly. "I used to fight for... for tolerance but people can only tolerate something they hate. The world is not ready for mutants. If I can minimize contact with the surface, my people are better for it. Stretch's crusade after his brother was foolish. He tries to live in both worlds and it will kill him one day."
He let a moment of silence pass, before he picked up an empty beer bottle. "Freeze the bottle - and just the bottle," Erg instructed Leighton. He needed to more or less see what they were working with. He imagined that she would have some trouble getting her powers started, but a lot of difficulty with keeping them contained and manipulating them to do exactly as she wished. He'd take her to see other mutant talented with ice that evening, once the supply run had concluded. Blink was the go-to method for Morlock's to travel around the city.

"Negasonic - can you give call to Stretch?" Colossus asked. The teenager nodded, rolling her eyes as she went off and dialed Stretch's number, waiting to see if he would answer. She figured that Colossus more or less wanted her to tell him that Veil and Sapphire had made it back safely, so there would be no need for him to look into finding them. She would have asked Colossus to just do it himself, but it was an excuse to be on her phone and away from the adults, so hey, she wasn't going to argue against that.
Havok had shot a glare back at Spark Plug for her comments about him not getting every single woman. He had half a mind to remind her that his on-and-off again girlfriend was Magneto's daughter and that his older brother used to run the X-Men, as a way of arguing that both the Brotherhood and the X-Men would come smack Spark Plug around for him if he wanted them to. Of course, he knew better than to say things like that - since he doubted either event would actually come true.
Veil shook her head at Spark Plug as she was offered the pain killers. "No, those are yours. I'm fine," she insisted, giving her friend a slight smile. She was glad to see that Spark Plug was okay. She had been really worried about her, since the last time Veil saw her, she had been shot and they were practically surrounded by cops. She then gave a nod towards Moonwalker, holding out a hand to him since Glimpse seemed to be thinking things over. "I'm Veil. Good to meet you," she said, introducing herself.
She was a bit curious as to why Glimpse had gone to them - she had connections if she was related to the Braddocks. Why would she go to the cash strapped and barely functioning Mutant Underground with this sort of information? Veil guessed that it might have been in order to ask them to pass it along to the X-Men, but if she was rich, wouldn't Luna have a phone? There was something just weird about this entire situation, but she wouldn't know what to do until Luna explained to her what was going on and why she needed to meet with Veil personally.
Sunshine and Spirit Box
Location: the Warehouse (K2 -> I7 and I2 -> G9) Skills: Mediumship
Make sure to put in your header each time where you are on the map.
So far, they were lucky - security hadn't come by this portion of the warehouse just yet. James would even be able to find a detailed copy of the warehouse's manifest, with keyword searches making it easy to find the locations of just about everything he would need. Crimp wire connectors, wire nuts, wire strippers, one alternate generator, and volt regulators were all indicated as being stored on the first floor of the warehouse - where they currently were. He would need to check the manifest for items stored on the other floors in order to see if they had the rest of the things he needed here.
Casper stared at James for a few moments after he explained everything they were looking for. He wasn't even certain what language that had been - was it English? It all sounded Greek to him. Never before in his life had he really attempted to do any sort of electrical or mechanical repair. Sure, his dad's place ended up exploding a lot and needing to be rebuilt, but Casper had been too young to really help out with it - and he never had much interest in that sort of thing. "... I think I might have an easier time finding the Holy Grail - is Nick Cage around here anywhere? I bet there's some sort of National Treasure thing dealing with a warehouse," Casper mused. He had completely forgotten to answer his brother's question about why he was here.
"For once, I know as little as you do," Ben mused, as he followed off after Casper. Everyone was looking through the first row of boxes, so he decided to round the bend and go somewhere new. Of course, technically he was really picking boxes from the same shelf as all of them, but his brother was handling the top boxes so Casper went for the lowest one. Opening it up, he found the crimp wire connectors and he held them up. "Do you need these?" he called out to James.
Of course, Sunshine gave Stretch a bit of a look after he chastised her for her choice in language. She was surprised that he spoke Greek - it wasn't exactly the most common of languages. Had she been cursing in Spanish, she would have understood someone understanding it - everyone spoke Spanish in the United States (well, she didn't but that wasn't the point). She committed James' descriptions to memory easily, walking forward to go start looking through things. She wasn't too far away from Tome when he started going off about how he found boxes and she rolled her eyes.
"Congratulations, you found a box. Now just take some markers and you can make yourself a friend, Max!," Sunshine told him, rolling her eyes. "Though being friends with you might qualify as cruel and unusual punishment," she quipped, picking on him for really no reason at all. He struck her as weak and an easy target. Smirking slightly, Sunshine then turned her attention to the box closest to her and she opened it up. Her eyes widened in surprise, finding a dead rat inside of the box. She then picked it up and held it out to James by the tail.
"Would this help?" she asked, giggling.
Blink had been looking through boxes on her own, using her portals to grab the ones from the top of the shelf she was dealing with. She didn't exactly appreciate the way Sunshine was talking to Tome, and she looked over just in time to see the kid holding a rat carcass up like some sort of sick trophy. "Kid, don't touch that! You don't know where it's been!"
"Sometimes quite literally chosen," Leda chimed in, adding onto Kristin's comment. She, Zeke, and Kristin had been handpicked by Apollo for a quest a few years back. That was a rare occurrence, since most of their Quests happened because the Oracle gave a prophecy - though being the god of prophecy, Apollo had been able to make an exception for himself. She couldn't help but agree with Kiera's earlier comment that Zeke would have his hands full with the two little kids, as the symbol of Hades appeared above both of them. Leda would've been a bit nervous, seeing children of the God of the Dead (not Death, that was Thanatos) but she had been in a serious relationship with a daughter of Hecate named Rebecca. Dark and spooky demigods didn't scare her.
Leda's eyes did flicker over towards Mary, however. Demeter's beef with Hades was legendary - since he had more or less kidnapped and then married her daughter, Persephone. The little girl started talking so much that she couldn't help but imagine it would give Mary more reason to dislike her and her brother. Of course, no one had spit it out and said it yet, so Leda figured that she would have to. Her job at Camp Half-Blood was ensuring all of the gods were recognized and not left out, so she figured this fell under that. "Congratulations. Your father is Hades - God of the Dead. Not Death," she informed the two. She then glanced at Des, nodding a bit in agreement at her comment. However, there was an irony to this entire situation... There wasn't a counselor for the Hades Cabin. These two little kids would be in there by themselves.
Virginia was slightly confused by Ny's words. She had grabbed onto his arm and started attempting her very best to assist him, in order to get him out of the way. At any rate, it wasn't the immediate problem, the intricacies of his perception of her and awareness of what she was doing. They needed to find a way to stop the runaway carriage. It wasn't out of the kindness of her heart or for the poor soul stuck to it, but rather from practicality. If they let the carriage keep on barreling around, then others were potentially standing on Death's door. Stopping the horses in the carriage also might give them insight onto who the carriage had belonged to. She really hoped that it wasn't a matter of a Soulless attack sending the carriage off like that - though if she needed to shed more blood with her axes, then so be it.
She started to look for something that would allow her to stall the horses quickly, since the only thing she had thought of thus far was throwing her axes at them and trying to kill the horses, but the idea struck her as rash and hasty. There had to be a better thing to do. Maybe Ny would think of something but she was a Crypt and she was certain that she could come up with some sort of solution. "Do you have any idea of how to stop it?" Virginia asked Ny, still mulling the entire thing over and knowing that time was of the essence.

Maeve Brennan
Location: House Kirkpatrick - the Parlor Skills: N/A
Maeve watched the Lady Kirkpatrick with care, pausing slightly as the topic turned to the potential that she could learn this set of skills. Instantly, however, she found a slight problem with it - she didn't know how to read. She didn't know how to write. In order to forge a letter, both of those struck her as necessary skills to obtain. But as much as she wanted to learn these skills for her own trade, she also saw an advantage for Roisin. Her daughter was going to be in Rome, training and growing up in as normal a life as Maeve could give her. If she learned to read and write, she could communicate with her daughter while she was abroad. "I would need ter learn ter read an' write, but... I would be pure keen ter learn these things, m'lady," Maeve answered respectfully.
At the very least, she would be able to learn the art of carving potatoes in order to fake a seal. That much didn't seem to require needing any sort of familiarity with reading and writing. And it was understandable to her if Lady Kirkpatrick didn't want to put in the time or funds or resources into teaching Maeve how to read and write. Not very many people in the lower classes these days were literate, much less women. "Is there anythin' else I can do for yer?" Maeve then asked politely. She really was enjoying her time with Lady Kirkpatrick. It made her wonder how her family back home would have reacted to this news - though she recalled the words about the Soulless attacks and her heart faltered slightly. Roisin was fine and that was all that mattered - but what of the others?
No matter how much she thought, she wasn't going to be able to solve this case in a vacuum. Even as she tried to think on who could have done this, using comic book rules, she wasn't able to come up with it. It could have been a Grim thing, could have been a Justice thing, and it could have been some combination of the two. For a moment, it reminded her slightly of orbital hybridizations but she shoved that thought out of her mind pretty quickly. She gave Roy a nod as he similarly came up empty. Whoever had done this... they were at the very least clean and experienced. It added a little bit to the profile she was coming up with for this killer.
"Alright," she said, getting into the car. She figured it would be a slightly safer place if anyone was going to go and shoot at her. She glanced at her phone, wondering if Keystone was ever going to get back to her last text, but she doubted it. She more of wanted to hear from Riley now anyways. If Riley was here, she was almost certain they would've been able to get to the bottom of all of this. Or maybe if she had had access to a proper crime lab, rather than just sort of wandering around a police station and then hiding in a car. She wondered if the sidekicks of superheroes ever felt like this.

Andromeda had been intending on sorting through her things quickly and getting ready for an abrupt move. Giouse had told them to go get some sleep, but with the end of the world seeming imminent and all, she wanted to be prepared to move at a moment's notice. It helped that she didn't have very much in the way of items. She glanced at her telescope, film projector, and tin of old films. As much as they had been comforting to her when she first arrived, she only really was considering bringing the telescope along if things went dire. It was a concrete connection to her past and something that could also prove useful. However, her mind was shocked out of those thoughts as she felt a small quake.
She had some friends in her old life that had lived in earthquake country, claiming that they could sleep through the smaller earthquakes. Her initial response to feeling it was fear and panic. Was this how the end of the world started? She clutched onto the frame of her bed for a moment, trying to reassure herself that it wasn't just one massive quake that would crack the world like an egg and end everything as they knew it. She didn't know where it was coming from, so Andromeda hurried back to the sitting room where the others had been. "Did you guys feel that?" Andromeda asked. She was really hoping Giouse would say that it wasn't a sign of the upcoming apocalypse, but from what Siduri had more or less said, the Emendators knew as much as the Paradoxes when it came to all of this.
