Vinnie's eyes narrowed as Greenie sassed her. She had been on her side when it came to not trusting Cal, unlike everyone else present. She hadn't done anything to treat her like a kid. It all just felt like a big slap in the face. Sure, Vinnie hadn't had a good first impression of Greenie - she was creepy. But in the few hours, days, weeks, how long had they been there? Well, however long it had been, she had gotten a little bit more used to her weirdness. And now rather than being creeped out towards Zarina, Vinnie was angry. They were in an incredibly confusing and complicated situation, her memories were coming back as slowly as pasta moved through the little slots in a cheese grater, and Greenie had the nerve to yell at her for things other people were doing!

If her anger could have been compared to a mythical creature, well, Vinnie was about to release the kraken. "Seriously? I stood up for you and this is how you're treating me, like I'm a snot booger on a teacher's nose and you just want me gone? News flash, I don't care how old you are! I care about you as a fucking human being and if you've got a stick so far up your ass that you have to belittle the person who came to make sure you weren't a freaking corpse up here, then maybe helping you was a waste of my time and effort! I'm risking my life and you can't even PRETEND to be a little bit nice? You know what, screw you, you can go to hell, I don't need to waste my time on negativity. I don't have space for toxic people in my life."

She heard a radio crackle, as well as Tessa behind her. She then heard what sounded like Sophia even farther down. Fueled by righteous rage, Vinnie hauled herself up the rest of the way, scrambling onto the catwalk. It wasn't a controlled motion at all, as Vinnie stumbled and almost tripped over her own two feet. For a brief second, she felt just the force of gravity on her and the resistance of air, as she almost toppled over the edge. Her heart stopped beating and didn't continue until she regained her balance. She didn't have a real chance to think though before she saw an extremely tall person with a radio - they looked human, but also like they had been stretched out using a torture device to gain a few extra feet. "Hey, Tall Guy, is this the way to the bathroom?" Vinnie shouted, drawing attention to herself. There wasn't really anywhere to hide on a catwalk. She might as well get out in front of this.

Raynor barely skipped a beat before he answered. "Identify yourself," he said gruffly. It was like some instinct of his. Everything had redundancies. Everything was confusing. He had no idea who he was talking to but he was worried they had the kid or something - if Raynor could confuse the Them long enough, maybe Zarina would be able to escape.

The Ruins of the Old Mutant Underground DC HQ...

"Spasibo, Spark Plug," Colossus said quietly. His voice sounded like grave. His tears had finally run out, as he slowly managed to regain composure for a moment. Colossus' grief was hitting him like waves rocking a ship - sometimes he was able to stay steady, other times he was slammed down onto the deck and left at the mercy of the raging ocean. Despite his grief, he managed to perfectly see what had happened with Max.

"...Bamf..." Colossus muttered. "Max has the gift of Nightcrawler." He sniffed the air slightly. "With less smell."

Veil quietly committed the names of the new mutants to memory as she heard them. Andy was the electricity manipulator who continued to compare her brother to Justin Bieber, most likely unaware that Echo was indeed Canadian. Had she not been reeling from the emotional shock of losing Moonwalker, she might have joined in on ribbing Echo. The young green haired technopath with the floating eyeball was vomiting words, uttering question after question without giving anyone a chance to address them. Veil couldn't even keep track of them all, so she decided to just give her the IMBD plot summary of what had just happened.

"We're the Mutant Underground. We rescue mutants in trouble and get them to safety. We were here trying to get information on M-Pox, only to come out and find some sort of brawl. The cops hate mutants and assume we're behind everything, they'd lynch us without hesitation. The Purifiers are basically humans who also want us dead. The Sentinel was S.H.I.E.L.D. property, they're mutant killing machines, specifically designed to snap our necks or imprison us without fair trial. And the other mutants who showed up are part of the Hellfire Club, basically a bunch of rich mutants who see violence as the only answer and don't care about the collateral damage."

"Polaris isn't part of them," Havok insisted stubbornly. The Mistress of Magnetism was still out cold, with Havok keeping a protective arm around her. He hadn't really thought things through, preferring to just sort of force reality to be what he wanted it to be and damn the consequences. He loved Polaris after all - he didn't believe she was evil in any shape or form. It had to be some sort of trick, some brainwashing done to her by Mastermind or Emma Frost or someone. Sometimes he honestly believed that telepathy was an inherently corrupting power.

"Sapphire is second in line to inherit leadership of our cell - Spark Plug is first," Veil added, ignoring Havok. "It's then Colossus, Havok, and... well, it had been Moonwalker next." She sighed sadly, forcing herself not to tear up at the thought of Moonwalker's life being snuffed out. Waverley seemed to be taking it pretty hard. She made a mental note to ask Sapphire if they had any medicine on hand to help her sleep, Feedback would probably be needing it.

Casper Theriot

Location: Mutant Underground: Medical -> ???
Skills: Mediumship
"At least you had the decency to do this near medical," Negasonic muttered with a sigh. She glanced around before she found a trash can and presented it over to Glimpse. "Wait," she said. There was a sharpie on one of the shelves in medical which she grabbed and brought on over. She drew a makeshift skull and crossbones on the bin, labeling it BIOHAZARD. "There. Feel free to empty your blood into there. I don't think it's recyclable."

Meanwhile, Casper found himself in the midst of what had to be either a dream or a strange out of body experience. He was standing in medical, looking at himself on the bed. He glanced to his left and his right, spotting Ben. "Hey Ben! Am I dreaming?" Casper asked. "Or is this like Avatar when Aang would go into the spirit world? They don't have bathrooms there do they? Because I think I need to pee... Can ghosts pee? WAIT AM I DEAD? Did I die?"

"Uh... You're not dreaming. Honestly, can your powers get any weirder?" Ben asked, looking at Casper puzzled. "I think... I think your soul fell out of your body or something? Maybe because you tried to channel me, you accidentally... did the reverse and brought yourself over to the other side?"

"Hmm, that sounds like some bullshit from the writer's room in a bad superhero comic," Casper pointed out. In retrospect, most of his life seemed like something out of a comic book. His father was the world's worst father and best telepath, a horrible mixture. His mother was a member of Magneto's Brotherhood. One of his brothers was missing and the other was addicted to doughnuts. His only sister was on Muir Island receiving treatment. Oh, and he had a niece who wasn't that much younger than his brother thanks to time travel mishaps.

"Well you haven't done drugs in a while, maybe your powers are getting stronger," Ben suggested. He was genuinely confused, staring at Casper as Casper walked through the door and emerged in the hallway where Negasonic was tending to Glimpse. Casper's eyes widened with delight. "I can walk through walls? That's so cool!" Casper gushed.

He ran down the hall and slammed on through door after door, walking through walls and just enjoying this sort of out of body experience. Ben struck his palm against his head, shocked with his friend's choice of activity. Casper eventually stumbled on Max and James. "Hey, stay away from my man!" he shouted. As he looked at Max, there was a flickering afterimage as Feedback's mother appeared.

"AVENGE ME!!!!!!!!" she screamed like a banshee.

Runa Johansson

Location: Hotel Valhalla - Floor 472
Skills: N/A

Runa wasn't sure whether to be happy or hurt that so many people wanted to go on this trip to Earth. She hadn't considered the possibility that they were trying to be friendly really, more feeling like they were trying to babysit her or prevent her from escaping - which to be fair, that was her plan so far. She wanted to go to Earth in order to run away from her problems. She couldn't be blamed for the destruction of the universe if they couldn't find her. And it was so much easier to run away from things rather than face them. As a teenager with depression, it pretty much was her go to strategy - her arms told that story with the scars.

She froze though as Arnora explained that she would actually have to go to dinner - and not only that, but everyone would be able to watch the most traumatic moment of her life (or death?) and learn the identity of her parents. Her blood felt like liquid nitrogen. Her nerves were shot. Her eyes darted rapidly as she tried to figure out a place to run to, a way to hide. If people knew she was the daughter of Balder, then they'd be able to blame her when the world died for not saying anything. But it was definitely too late right to come clean and say what she had seen? They'd probably all assume that she had taken Loki's deal or something and that she was working with the enemy.

"...I'm allergic to crowds..." Runa blurted, not quite sure she used the correct English word but it made sense to her. She remained rooted in place, not moving to the elevator.

Megan Pendragon

Location: Merlin's Warehouse -> Camelot
Skills: N/A

Camelot. The word sent a shiver down Megan's spine. Everything so far was seemingly real and true, and if they were going to Camelot, then that meant they were going to her birthplace. Would she meet her parents within a matter of minutes? She hadn't woken up that morning thinking the gigantic question of her life, the gaping hole in her story, was about to be answered. One of the girls - the daughter of Little Red Riding Hood - suggested that they do introductions. Beyond her brother, she didn't really know anyone there either.

"I'm Megan," she introduced herself. She didn't add the names of her supposed birth parents since she felt they didn't define her identity. She glanced at her brother and raised an eyebrow, a bit curious since he hadn't introduced himself and he tended to be the more social one of the pair. She then walked on through the portal, leaving the warehouse behind as she emerged in a quiet wood. It took a moment before she realized that she actually remembered this wood. If her memory was right, there should be a road nearby...

✨ Rebecca Eventide ✨

Location: Argo III - Upper Deck -> Crew Deck -> Upper Deck
Skills: N/A

Rebecca nodded, smiling and looked quite pleased as Mary showed interest in the various eras of her undead soldiers. "Thank you, I find it quite fascinating myself. Even as we believe we are becoming more advanced as a society, time is an illusion. The warrior of today is just as effective, perhaps even less so, than the one of yesterday," she said cryptically. The soldiers who fell in battle and served for the losing side of each war were indebted to Ares, so Rebecca's pool largely came from the victors of war. They were under Hades' dominion of course, but given that her mother was the Goddess of Ghosts, she could 'borrow' those soldiers from time to time. It helped that Hecate was so close with Demeter and Persephone as well.

"I suppose it's about my turn to take watch, then. I'm hoping the skies will be clear, it would be nice to gaze up at the heavens some, perhaps see if I can divine some information about our journey... At the very least, I could purify some water with moonlight and starlight, there are so many beneficial properties to water prepared under a celestial body's influence that it's such an invaluable and key resource. I wonder if you might find the same should you sprout different plants at the witching hour?" Rebecca suggested. Her stomach grumbled and she quickly went down to the crew deck, fetching herself a plate and a goblet - pad see ew and apple cider. It was an odd combination but she adored it and her preference, absinthe, sadly wouldn't have been possible.

She took her plate and goblet, along with a pair of chopsticks, and retreated back up to the upper deck and got ready for watch duty. She sat down, balancing the plate on her knees and the goblet was off to the side. "What is everyone's star sign?" she asked. "I was born under Taurus, the bull."

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: Argo III - Upper Deck
Skills: N/A

Leda grinned, realizing that the shift schedule meant that she could spend more time with Kiera. She happily went down to the crew deck and grabbed herself a plate and a cup, sitting down next to the ginger. "Oi Mary, come join us!" Leda invited. Her cup filled itself with her favorite drink - grape Koolaid + Sprite. It was like a grape fanta but even better. Fish and chips appeared then on her plate, one of her favorite meals from back home, something that she really missed. No one in America could make them properly. She picked up one of the chips and bit into it, enjoying the soft texture of the potato.

"If you call these fries, I'll have to throw you overboard," Leia warned Kiera, as she bit into another chip. "It would be considered a hate crime against my people." She smirked a bit, before tearing into one of the bits of fried fish and enjoying how delicious it tasted. She was convinced that the plate had to have come from a local place in Bristol or something, it was that heavenly. They had a while until it would be their turn to take watch and Leda knew that practically, they'd probably want to get some shut eye beforehand.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: New Rome - Coffee Shop -> the Senate Building
Skills: N/A

When they got to the Senate House and Madalyne pulled the bell to signal a meeting, Nancy stretched her arms out. "How much do you want to bet this meeting will somehow take an entire hour?" she asked Madalyne and Niah. If she could drastically reduce the number of meetings required for the Senate, she would have considered it her finest achievement in her time as praetor. She perked up a bit at Niah's mentioning of all the things that could happen on the adventure, her expression only souring when Niah mentioned the death of friends. The slaying monsters was amazing and fun. Losing one of her best friends... Nancy couldn't fathom that sort of pain.

Hopefully the Senate largely would be present soon. She didn't want to have to wait around forever just for people to show up. They needed to get this small trip approved, set out to check up on Atlas, and return in time for the Greeks to show up and ruin everything. And assuming they were still alive after that, their next stop would be the Underworld - well, actually, they'd go there next even if they died so she supposed that was a bit of a moot point. "I'd tell you to lighten up Niah, but you're right. We might die. And we're definitely headed to the Underworld before the week is out."

The Ruins of the Old Mutant Underground DC HQ...

Colossus looked at Spark Plug, opening his mouth to recite some words of wisdom worthy of Uncle Iroh, but words failed him. A strangled cry or sob was all that came out. It sounded like the dying scream of a goose. He generally was compassionate yet stoic, feeling deeply for others yet keeping those emotions under control. The death of his sister was like a wrecking ball, Colossus' skin constantly shifting back and forth between flesh and organic steel as he collapsed to the ground, his face contorted as he cried uncontrollably.

"I didn't know there would be people guts flying!" Havok snapped back at Sapphire. Polaris hadn't woken up yet which was likely for the best, as she clearly did not want to see Sapphire breathing. He didn't know how things would work out later on when Polaris woke up at the Mutant Underground, but she had been a fighter for freedom and equality for mutants. He assumed that whatever she was doing with the Hellfire Club was just temporary insanity.

Havok didn't really like the newer members of the Mutant Underground any more than Sapphire did, but he wasn't in a position to turn his nose on up. He carried his unconscious girlfriend on over to the car, stepping over Pyro in the process - well, more of stepping on Pyro's face on purpose - before Havok got into the back, buckling Polaris in first before doing himself. "I dare anyone to have a problem with this."

Veil felt like she was about to have one of her veins burst from stress. They had narrowly survived a sentinel attack, Moonwalker had died during the purifier attack, and now people were screaming at each other. She was sadly starting to expect screaming from Sapphire. Part of her wanted to tell Echo that it wasn't his place to discipline Sapphire or that everyone was just lashing out after Moonwalker's death. Maybe they needed to do some team building exercises - like trust falls.

Sapphire rushed off to handle some business and fortunately, Veil's natural perceptive abilities - plus the fact that she had been the one leading this mission - helped her to piece it out. "Sapphire's getting what we need from Dr. Watts," she explained quickly for the others. "He could be the answer to curing M-Pox... to making Moonwalker's death not be in vein." If they came here and left empty handed, Moonwalker's sacrifice would have been for nothing. They couldn't allow that to happen. "Have the van running and everyone who's coming get in - as soon as Sapphire is done, we high tail it back to HQ."

She then got into the car, taking the shotgun seat next to her twin brother. The fire hydrants were continuing to pump water out, creating a small little flood in the road. It was winter in DC so odds were the water would be frozen if it wasn't cleared away by the next morning, making a nice road hazard for the morning rush to George Washington University the next morning. Pyro was currently covered in water, although he was face up so he wasn't in any danger of drowning.

Veil reached into her pocket and pulled out a small bottle of extra strength Advil, popping one of the pills. "Does anyone else want one?" she asked.

Casper Theriot

Location: Mutant Underground: Medical
Skills: Mediumship
"Magik's... It wasn't natural, clearly. That's Excalibur's thing," Negasonic told Glimpse bluntly. She was keeping eye contact for once, not typing away furiously on her phone or scrolling through Tumblr. "So are you going to help me or not, Princess Fancypants?" She breathed in a little hard through her nostrils, some tears in her eyes that Negasonic was forcing to hold back. It was a gamble but maybe they could bring Magik back.

Casper accepted the small cup of water and the medicine from James. He swallowed the pills dry and took the cup of water, pouring it down on his forehead. While he was feeling a lot better, he also felt a bit feverish or perhaps just overheated, so the water helped him to cool down. "There, I showered, babes - if you want me to take a longer one, I'm going to need a buddy to help," he proposed with a smile. He preferred to take baths to showers, mostly since he LOVED bubble bath - especially if rubber duckies were available. "And the toothbrush - is that for my teeth or for something else?"

"Are you up for me talking to James?" Ben asked Casper. He didn't really know if there was much of a point in answering James, having Casper butcher the delivery of it, and then seeing James' confusion. If he couldn't talk to James himself, there wasn't much of a point in trying at all. He did want to talk to someone that wasn't Casper about what he had seen at least. Casper wasn't the best at calming people down.

"I feel greeeeeat," Casper said. "And I just popped a pill, so let's do this! Abracadabra!" He wiggled his fingers like he was casting a spell, but nothing happened. Casper's eyes didn't glow blue. His hands didn't have a soft blue aura. "Sorry Ben, lemme try that again. Maybe... Shazam!" Casper clapped his hands together. His eyes crossed and he hit the ground hard in a dead faint.

"... That honestly went better than I expected."

Bonnie Chase

Location: Roof of Steve Rogers' Apartment Building - Quinjet -> Steve Rogers' Apartment
Skills: Blessing of Athena, Perception, Enhanced Surgery
Bonnie nodded as Cass gave them their marching orders, extremely happy with Cass' intuition that she didn't really want to be around Flynn right now. Flynn hadn't even said a word or cast a glance in her direction since his screaming outburst, so as far as Bonnie was concerned, that relationship was over now. It hurt like hell, but she had too much self respect to put up with behavior like that. She'd rather be living her best life as a single woman than submit to emotional abuse. "Sounds good, boss lady," Bonnie told her friend, trying to sound lighthearted but it was clear her heart wasn't in it.

She disembarked from the quinjet with everyone and headed down the staircase, glad that it had a roof access. The apartment building wasn't what she would have expected to be the home of Captain America. The paint on the walls were peeling, the doors were covered in scratches, and the little signs indicating the unit numbers were tarnished. The carpets were a putrid orange color with suspicious stains - some of them looking like someone had done a poor job of cleaning up blood.

Bonnie tried the doorknob. It was locked. She wasn't that surprised, especially since Niah said that Rogers wasn't home. She had just been hoping there was an off chance it would be easily accessible. She reached into her bag she kept slung over her shoulder, pulling out a scalpel from her medical bag. Picking a lock couldn't have been that different from performing surgery. She inserted the scalpel carefully and listened as best as she could to the tumblers, eventually hearing a click and the door swung open.

Amelia Baptiste

Location: the Triskelion - Hangar

"Right on. Surprised he isn't an actual nutter, but I'm not complaining. I'd rather live in a world with weird wizards than fake ones on the telly any day!" Amelia exclaimed. She seemed to be perpetually happy and enthusiastic. She provided a real contrast to the rest of the Secret Warriors, as they struck her as rather cynical and melodramatic so far - especially the hotheaded one, Flynn. "And ace! I won't let you down," she promised, happy that Sparky was letting her come along.

When it came to the prospect of flying unaided, Amelia couldn't help but be extremely excited. She had tried to do sustained flights but she had trouble lasting more than five minutes. Her power was great for skydiving and breaking her fall, but for whatever reason, she just couldn't get herself to glide yet. It was frustrating, but she wasn't about to let it get her down. She had only had her powers for a few months now after all. "I can't glide - not yet, anyways. But I'll give it a whirl, maybe today'll be my lucky day! And if I do fall, I can always break my fall with my powers, so there's no worry there. This is gonna be so much fun!"

Neil Spellman

Location: Xavier's Institute - Main Entrance -> the Danger Room
Skills: N/A
Neil's head was spinning slightly as they reappeared at the front entrance. He knew that his body hadn't really moved - but at the same time, they had all moved incredibly fast in order to be in one spot and then pop up in another. It was giving him a headache just trying to rationalize the dizzying effects of Bethany's darkness infused teleportation. He had no idea whether or not there were any secret passages, but Banner apparently had been holding out on all of them, transporting Annie and some of the others away. Guin had to bring up Sara and Neil's eyes watered, trying not to think about her - maybe he needed to do another cord cutting ritual. The wounds were still so deep.

"Knowing Banner, he probably dropped them in an ocean," Neil muttered under his breath. He couldn't spend too much time being mad at Lance though, chaffing with irritation at having to be paired with him. The bugs were back and he barely put his hands up to his ears in time as Mira let out a shriek, clearing a small path. The next few seconds were a blur and suddenly, he was in the Danger Room with Carolina. He stumbled forward and ended up half sitting, half kneeling on the ground as he waited for everything to steady around him.

"...Is there a trash can somewhere... I um... I'm gonna..." Neil then hurled onto the ground, losing everything he had eaten that day and then some.

Guin Stark

Location: Xavier's Institute - Main Entrance -> the Danger Room
Skills: Telepathy (Mental Link & Mind Switch)
Guin blinked slightly, adjusting to the rapid change in her surroundings. Traveling with Bethany felt just about as fast as traveling with Pietro, only Pietro carried her bridal style which tended to give her a heads up that they were about to move quickly. There wasn't any flirty or romantic cue like that from the gothic member of the X-Men. "Damn girl, you're getting the hang of that - wrong location ignored, no one got trapped inside an indestructible box on a spaceship." She didn't notice the way Neil winced a bit at her comment alluding to his ex girlfriend, Sara Grey. "There probably is some sort of underground passageway - too bad no one has seismic sense and can stomp on the ground to find it, unless you know about one, Mare?"

From what she knew about Xavier, she figured there had to be secret passageways all over the X-Mansion. In fact, she would have been concerned for the old man's mental stability if there weren't at least three separate tunnel systems. They were able to fly the Blackbird out from underneath the basketball court if they wanted to after all. The X-Mansion was basically a glorified Clue board. Maybe they were lucky that Loki had watched Jumanji and not Clue then. Lance transported about half of the group away in a beam of light - had he been practicing his powers or googling for ideas on what he could do with them? And it was about time, since the bugs apparently had GPS tracking and had rushed out of the living room and found them at the main entrance.

The bugs were uselessly slamming themselves up against her suit. "Note to self - invest in bug spray for the Mark II," Guin mused. Pietro took Neil and Carolina off and in a few seconds he was back, grabbing Guin and Mira. Her helmet helped with the loud shrieks from Mira, preventing her from needing hearing aids like Neil. She frowned a bit though as they ran, noticing that he was significantly slower. Given his protective instincts (more overprotective ones, really), Guin would have thought he would be faster than normal. Yo, what gives? You're running like a turtle.

What are you talking about? Pietro responded, sounding a bit confused.

Either my perception of the world has vastly sped up or you're going slower than a little kid being asked to clean their bedroom.

...Wait seriously?

Uh, yeah, I wouldn't joke about this. I'm worried about you. Did you accidentally take some Mutant Growth Hormone or something? That stuff is terrible for you. I should know, I tried it once in high school and my dad almost killed me.

Nooooo I didn't... That's weird, like, really weird...

Guin frowned, looking around the group. Neil was vomiting, which she could understand - not everyone was used to running at the sort of speeds Pietro operated at. Some people got bad cases of whiplash from it if Pietro forgot to hold their necks for instance. A lot of people puked. She reached out and took Pietro's hand, the glove of her armor opening up so she could make skin contact. She felt sluggish and out of practice as she tried to use her powers, but eventually, her world seemed to shift.

She was in control of Pietro's body now. Usually, being Pietro meant everything looking like the speed of the video had been slowed down dramatically - like if someone had set everything for 10% of the ordinary playback speed. But now, things were barely distorted - they seemed to be more at 90%, maybe even 95%. "Guys, something's wrong with Pietro's powers - and mine too. Is anyone else feeling off?" Guin asked, although she was in Pietro's body, so to everyone else it would seem like Pietro was talking in the third person.

Location: Atrium -> Top of the Pipe
Skills: N/A
Vinnie breathed in and right as she exhaled, memories came rushing back to her in a flood. She could barely attach names to the faces, but two in particular knocked the wind out of her - Dad and Pops. She remembered Pops spinning her at the roller rink the night of prom. Tears welled up in her eyes as a funeral then flashed through her head - Dad. He had lost his battle with drug addiction. Vinnie swallowed thickly, hoping to remember more, but it was just mostly important people and events in her life - her college graduation, her first day at Buzzfeed, brief blurs of Tessa and Sophia who really was her cousin.

"Sorry what was happening?" Vinnie asked, drying her eyes. She was pretty used to having to ask that question by now - she was a spacey person by nature, but thus far it hadn't been due to remembering the tragic funeral for her dad. "You need someone to go into there? And swim? And nearly die like Luke did?" she asked, her eyes widening. The guys were way too big to fit in there. Tessa wasn't in a mood to do it. And the thought of drowning sent an electrifying chill into her heart, but somehow, Vinnie managed to swallow her fear. "This is why men are useless and women should rule the world - we get stuff done!"

She took a deep breath and wiggled her arms and legs, as if that could shake away the fear and anxiety that she was about to go swimming in her grave. Did dead bodies float? She had to assume that they did, so at least she wouldn't be lost in the depths... but wouldn't that mean that all the shipwrecked sailors should have floated? Would they clump together? Was there an island of floating bodies of people who died at sea somewhere in the ocean? Did birds use it to make nests? Was that how coconuts migrated, via a raft made out of corpses?

Vinnie made her way in through the opening, the cold water instantly hitting her system and shocking her. It was like a painful sugar rush and Vinnie nearly slipped, but she regained her balance. In the process she got a mouthful of cold water and Vinnie screamed, bubbles spewing from her mouth as she struggled to get her mouth to be water free. The rushing water of the pipe was extremely difficult to navigate against. With gritty determination - and wishing that she had a video so she could record this and make a video out of it - Vinnie fought her way up against the pipe, the cold water chilling her to the bone. It was probably the quietest she had been in her life, since the roaring water inside the pipe wasn't ideal for keeping her mouth open beyond gasps for air.

She thanked her lucky stars when she saw a ladder up ahead. She grabbed one bar after the other, thinking at first that she hadn't managed to get it. She then realized with shock that she couldn't feel her fingers! Her eyes widened, wondering if they were going to freeze off and just fall off - would her fingers end up floating back to everyone? Would they know they were hers? Pure grit and determination was all that kept her going as Vinnie forced herself to move herself up the ladder, each movement harder than the last, and the sensation in her hands pretty much gone. She made her way up to the top of the pipe.

"Hey uh is it normal to not be able to feel my hands? Because I think my fingers got replaced by popsicles and I am reeeeally scared of drowning so please be nice and help me up, Greenie!" Vinnie pleaded, too exhausted for her usual word vomit.

Back on dry ground, Raynor was trying to communicate with Zarina via the radio. He was too big to fit on through the opening to go into the pipe. His memories had largely rushed back to him, helping him to identify just why he cared so much about this kid. She looked so much like Lana, his missing best friend. He didn't care about protecting children after all - he just cared about saving Lana, or her near doppleganger in Zarina.
