Overview


Location: The fictional town of Red Lake, Pennsylvania
Time Frame: July 4th, 2008
RP Tags: Modern, Slice-Of-Life, High Casual, Advanced, Large Group, Fantasy, Supernatural, Survival, Mystery, Romance, Murder Mystery
Goal of RP: Goal of the RP is to find out the mysterious disappearances, the random wolf attacks out on the farmlands, as well as to solve the gruesome murder, and find the killers before the full moon.
Character Age Requirements: 16 years or older.


Premise:



Red Lake Pennsylvania was originally founded in April 13th, 1773 by a man named Avery Johnson, during the early years of the small settlment it started to have border disputes with the local Native American tribes within the area. Eventually things became much worse resulting in the death of its founder. Which then resulted in a small war within the area, which nearly decimated both sides, until June 2nd 1786 which finally brought peace between the two people.

Now it is a small mountain town of 2,145 people best known for it's very beautiful view of the mountains from downtown as well as for its hiking trails however it is best known for it's lake the town is name after as well as it's fishing. At the center of town is the mayor's office as well as the very small police station and a few general stores and two restaurants and for those who are just traveling through there is a motel and bed and breakfast as well as an elementary school and a high school.

It is now the 4th of July, and usually it is the time for people to celebrate the countries birthday, however over the last few weeks there has been recent sightings of wolf attacks on the local farmlands in the outskirts of town. And one of its residents has gone missing. Three days ago Andrew Ryder the mayor of Red Lake was found brutally mauled to death just outside of the town hall. With a sign written in blood his blood. "This is our land, the next full moon more will go missing and more will die."

The Missing & The Dead

Riley Walker



She is very well known in Red Lake as the happy little sunshine of the town, she worked with her parents at the Red Lake Bed and Breakfast. Riley was most likely the only person who didn't mind living in the small town, and got along really well with nearly just about everyone in town. She was last seen at the lake before her disappearance from the town, nearly everyone was trying to search for her, her cellphone was found near the lake

Andrew Ryder



He was probably known to bed the worse mayor in Red Lake's history, he wasn't well liked among the towns people at least those that didn't vote for him in the last election. Rumor has it that he cheated in the last election with the Johnsons. However most people agree that the murder scene was very gruesome the words in his blood on the front door of the town hall.

Alphas:*
  • Immortal.
  • The first of their species.

Angels:*
  • Highest order immortal.
  • They require their host's permission for possession.

Archangels:*
  • Some of the first born angels, there are a limited number of them.
  • They are advanced immortals.
  • Each archangel has a specific purpose, a role to play in the cosmic scene.
  • Archangels are tasked with protecting Prophets of the Lord.
  • Known archangels include Sariel, the Archangel of Guidance, and Lucifer, the Morning Star.
  • Similarly to angels, archangels also must have permission in order to possess an individual.

Buruburu:
  • Ghost sickness will kill a human within 48 hours, yet will speed up the more wicked a person is.
  • It can only be cured by destroying the buruburu (the original ghost).
  • Only those with a personality trait or physical trait similar to the original ghost can catch Ghost Sickness

Crocottas:*
  • Immortal.
  • They have the ability to copy and mimic voices.
  • They feed on flesh.

Cursed Humans:*
  • Possible immortality.

Death:*
  • An immortal being, ranking on the highest order of mortality.
  • Also referred to as the angel Azrael.

Demons:
  • Highest order immortal.
  • Devil's Trap: prevents a demon from leaving
  • Holy Water: burns demons
  • Exorcism: There are several differently styles of this, but all of them remove the demon from the host. Some will send the demon to hell, others will force the demon to manifest itself so it can be killed or sent to hell permanently.
  • Flesh Sigil: If a sigil is carved into the host's flesh, the demon will be powerless
  • Ghosts: Ghosts can remove a demon from its host
  • Hallowed Ground: Some demons are unable to enter hallowed ground, such as churches. These tend to be the weaker ones.
  • Hex Bags: these can hide people from a demon
  • Holy Fire: Holy oil lit on fire, it roasts a demon.
  • Iron: Demons cannot cross an iron barrier or touch iron without extreme pain
  • Palo Santo: Stab the demon with this, the host smokes and the demon cannot move
  • Damaging the host may force the demon to choose a new host, or be slowed down
  • Purified Blood: This, when injected into a demon, is incredibly painful.
  • Salt: Demons cannot step over salt, pass a salt line, or touch salt. Touching salt results in (you guessed it) extreme pain.
  • Demons can be cured through the Demon Purification Ritual.
  • Demons can be killed by angel blades.
  • Demons will flinch and have their eyes turn black when the name of the Lord is spoken.

Deviances:
Not much is known as to how these work. Sometimes, people come out a little funny. Maybe they can see things others cannot. Maybe they have a sixth sense when it comes to healing. If there's anything that makes them a little odd, especially if it would make O.M.E.N. interested in them, it's a deviance. These will be heavily scrutinized.

Eve:*
  • An advanced immortal being.
  • The Mother of All Monsters.

Ghosts:
  • Salt and iron can stop them.
  • Burning their bones will kill them.
  • They require an anchor to the world to exist.

  • Infection can be spread by a werewolf from either a bite or scratch will turn someone into a werewolf

  • Human form is considerably weaker.
  • When weakened they revert back to human form
  • Older werewolves have full control on their transformation
  • All werewolves transform during the full moon.

Witches:
  • Near immortal--extremely long lifespan.
  • Witches can be taken down with iron.
  • They require hex bags or DNA to complete their long, complicated rituals.
  • They have sold their souls to the devil.
  • There are three types of witches
  • ◾Borrowers: They have sold their souls to the devil in exchange for powers
  • ◾Naturals: They are born with the ability to create and use magic.
  • ◾Students: Through years of hard practice and training, they are able to manipulate magic and cast spells.
  • ◾Natural witches are capable of feats known as the Seven Wonders.
  • ◾Telekinesis - this is the most common and easily accomplished one
  • ◾Concilium - also known as coercion or mind control
  • ◾Pyrokinesis
  • ◾Divination
  • ◾Transmutation - also known as teleportation and not to be confused with transmutation.

    • Gm has final say on all matters
    • Gm does check on posting and log in habits
    • If you are holding up the RP and joining other Rp's you will be called on it
  • CS Sheet Provided Must Be Used
    • Use code provided below
    • Do not submit WIP's - Final CS's only
    • Post CS for approval in OOC
    • Only GM approved CS's allowed in CS Tab
    • Change color code to one not in use
    • If you have problems with changing out the color code or any of the coding, just pm it to me and I will take care of it for you.
    • May not use default CS color, any colors currently in use by active characters or that are close to another characters color
  • This is a slice of life rp
    • Real Life cause and effect will be in place
    • Realistic Character Sheets Only
    • Things like jobs and skills must fit with characters back story
    • Don't go overboard - seriously, enjoy not knowing things and learning as you go.
  • Language - No Filters
  • Gore - No Filters - This will get gross
  • Taboo subjects will be crossed but will be maintained to fade to black if needed
  • Romance is allowed but this is NOT a Romance RP - Pg-13, then fade to black
  • Follow All Forum Rules
  • Communication is Key
  • The world is controlled by the GM - All NPC's, weather, what you see, what you find, what happens, everything. So if it isn't in my post, it didn't happens
  • If you wish your character to have "connections" please run it by the GM first to ensure it is acceptable and isn't already being done by another.
  • Randomization and LLA are used in this RP - Please refer to Lady Amalthea's tutorial for a description if you are new to this concept
  • Posting Habits
    • Minimal of 2 well developed paragraphs per post
    • Must IC post once every 7 days (It is your job to keep up with when you need to post. Your last post hits Day 8 and I remove you from the RP.)
    • I do not accept no inspiration as a reason not to post
    • Keep up with all IC and OOC posts
    • No word in IC or OOC after 7 days is grounds for removal from the RP.
    • If you need additional time to post you must notify the Gm by day 5 of your counter. Extensions will not be granted after that.
    • No spamming OOC
    • Under Extras in the CS mention your favorite fictional wolf or werewolf character so I know you at least skimmed this...
    • Minimal 2 posts between your last
    • There is no additional time granted due to forum glitches unless the forum is fully down. A week to post is plenty of time even if the forum glitches a day or two
    • Collabs may not be started after your day 5 counter
    • If you are collabing and your partner vanishes or does not reply, you must finish the collab and post it before the timer runs out
    • If your collab partner vanishes you are granted temporary minimal bunnying privileges to complete the collab
    • If your collab partner vanishes, you need to make the Gm aware so it does not count against you
    • Know your personal posting limitations before applying to join
    • If you cannot post, you must contact the GM and make me aware, you will be granted extra time to post (do not take advantage of this) - I realize real life comes first but you know your schedule better than anyone, if you join it is your responsibility to keep up and not hold up the rest of the Rpers. I will work with you, just let me know what's going on
  • Spots are not first come first serve
    • Gm will review completed CS first
    • Gm will review previous Rp's and posting habits
    • Gm will then notify you if you are approved
    • Character deaths will happen, no one is safe - it will be randomized and you will be notified when your death approaches. (This does not mean you are out of the RP, it will mean however you need to make a new character should you wish to continue - I recommend having Back Up Characters Ready)
    • I am looking for long term highly dedicated Rpers. This RP is an in the Abandoned Hope, universe which finished after eight months. Before this RP has been here much longer with earlier runs that have failed
  • Once Cs's are approved, relation sheet will go up and must be completed and added to CS
  • Rules and Cs sheet will be added to and changed as need be depending on problems or points that come up.
  • Under Extras in your CS please post a link to a post you have done in the past to show you have read the rules. If You submit a CS without this it may be declined.
  • Special - To New Comers To The Guild - Pm The Gm for a tid bit to add under extras instead

Relation/Clue Sheet

Throughout the RP, you are expected to record clues you find here. There are several mysteries to unravel in Coventry. If you believe you have solved one of the murders and disappearances of Red Lake, send a PM to the GM! If correct, you'll receive some sort of in-game reward. This can be a bonus skill, a helpful clue for the next mystery, a get-out-of-death free card...

You also will record your thoughts and opinions on other characters. To start the RP, you are required to have one relation to start with. If you're having trouble coming up with one, let me know and I can sort it out for you. There'll be periodic moments throughout the RP where I ask that you update these.

And I believe that would lean more towards cursed human. She would actually have a similar ability to Carolina Reed, though Carolina's is a deviance.

Sorry for the late reply everyone. Okay so to answer your questions.

@Bishop So talked with Morose on this, shes the one who ultimately made the Abandoned Hope Universe (BlueSky as well if I remember correctly as well). I will lean on her judgment on this, but sadly will have to still reject the half demon character you have described. Even though it is supernatural and stuff, but to me it's not going to fit well within the RP and stuff that I have planned. So I recommend him/her being a human.

@Faerah Her death would have to be very, very recent if she has been dead for a long time she would have ended up losing her sanity, and become a vengeful spirit and attack or infect people with buruburu. Morose and I suggest she could have a near death experience, a witch could have botched a spell her spirit would be recovered. But sometimes falls out of her body and she goes ghost through that way.

@LokiLeo789 Yep I remember you, were apart of an earlier version of this RP. However it has gone through a very major overhaul since the last time you have been apart of it. Just make sure you read through the rules and stuff but you are certainly welcome to be apart of this if you like. :)
