Monitors display colors differently. I can read black on the light grey background fine. Others cannot. I was unaware of this until I read my own black-on-grey post on my phone and it was not readable.

Also.. it looks way cool.

I noticed this with some of my signature images on my phone. The colours would be way off and over saturated. :/
Could also be the difference in the LCD these days too.

These days interest checks require a lot more information then they did on “oldguild”. The standards and expectations have changed, partially.

I've noticed that too. There's a lot more interest checks that are almost full OOC without the character sheet sections. Makes me wonder if some interest checks are simply over doing it and whether people need to get back to the basics and dumb it down a bit.
@ArenaSnow when colours could be used to aid a reader and add style, turn more into a burden and a pain in the ass. xD
@Lady Amalthea done and dusted. :)
For me music can help in some situations, but as the story goes on I find it to be less viable cause the characters eventually evolve out of that theme.

What I do find effective is rereading certain scenes and lines of dialogue, or viewing movie scenes that contain a similar sort of character to get my thoughts into that persona. That constant repetition along with imagining what my character would say is usually enough to build that identity.
Sometimes a GM has to nerf characters and players because they can see a loophole that may be exploited. The GM is simply taking control of the situation and balancing out the field so they can see everyone enjoy an even experience.

The delivery of that message however is what can change a passionate GM to a tyrant, and vice versa. Most of the time they want the best but frustrations from players or even themselves when missing details, can in fact impact their perception from others.
Going off topic from the rants, vents, and head banging... how do some of these RPs generate 40+ members with massive IC counts?
