I was waiting for anything from anybody given nobody had been saying anything for well over a week. When that much time passes and nobody says anything I feel as a GM like the players have lost interest. A dead OOC is the bane of most RP's on this site it seems. I appreciate you were ready to step up (and the only one posting in the OOC), but that wouldn't have made inactive people come back. I wasn't gonna waste your time helping get the IC going if nobody else was gonna be bothered enough to even say "yeah I'm still game."

If you guys wanna put the blame on me that's fine. I can't apologize for seven out of nine players going silent for ten plus days though.

A total of one player mentioned doing something with their character in this OOC. When I asked where we might go beyond the first arc... nobody seemed to want to give me a serious answer. Only one other person besides myself posted anything in the last ten days. Two players haven't even checked in since posting their CS's (one of which hasn't been online in 8 days).

I asked about somebody becoming a Co-GM to help me with the IC stuff... and that fell on deaf ears aside from one poster. And then nobody said anything for FOUR MORE DAYS. If anybody actually wanted to see this thing move forward, they should've made it a little more clear and said something a little sooner than ten days. If nobody can be bothered to check in, actually discuss characters and world building, etc... then why would I go on with the RP? I appreciate the initial interest, but this RP seemed doomed before it got going. I can apologize for myself, but I can't apologize for the rest of the cast.

If you guys register for the other forum let me know so I can give the administrator a heads up. @rocketrobie2 had an issue and it took him a few days before his account was activated because of some glitch on the admin's side. I wonder if this glitch is why we haven't seen many new faces over there....

And if you go on over there and build a GL from all the micro bases post them here and show folks what they're missing!

Jimmy Olsen regretted putting on a costume. It wasn’t every day that he felt this way, but right now… that’s how he was feeling. He took a hard hit from a Kryptonian female who used to be a member of the League. In an attempt to put himself between Supergirl and the beast of a woman called Solara he was knocked through several other Leaguers. Had he been a metahuman he might’ve been okay, however he wasn’t either. He faded in and out and saw his teammates take on the rampaging time-lost Kryptonian. Warden struck at her with his vines and tried remaining out of reach. That was until Solara grabbed one of his vines and threw him with it. Negative Man had left his robotic body and attacked her in his radioactive form, however it didn’t serve much more than a diversion with her heat vision once again coming into play. Supergirl went in for the attack and it seemed as if Champion and Lizard were just waiting for their next shot at the powerhouse.

“Hey kid… you gonna be okay?” asked Booster Gold trying to give the rookie hero a hand, “We need to get you out of here before the Tower takes more damage and you get buried in debris…” he continued picking Jimmy up.

“My shield… can’t leave…” Jimmy began to say as Booster grabbed the item given to the young hero by Superman himself.

“Yeah… even I know that’s too much gold to leave laying around. Let’s get you to the med bay area kid…” Booster continued.

After taking a beating from Superman’s daughter Solara finally came to. Breaking free of the Girl of Steel’s grip and throwing the half-breed, it didn’t take long before Champion finally connected with another punch of his own that sent Solara flying out of the Tower downtown towards the Hello Kitty US office building. Large Hello Kitty statues were atop of the building where gargoyles would’ve been on any number of buildings in Gotham. Solara landed at the base of the building, bouncing off of several parked cars before meeting the side of another building across the street. A group of Leaguers followed.

The Green Lantern Corps had returned from the brink once again. Their numbers had finally returned, the Guardians of the Universe were back in control, and Oa was once again orbiting a star in sector 0. Mogo, former home base of the GLC and sentient planet Lantern, was also still in sector zero and served as a new training grounds for the rookies in the Corps after taking a smaller form to conserve his energies. The Honor Guard was now headed up by John Stewart and Guy Gardner of sector 2814, and currently helping Lanterns within a ten sector radius deal with a family of Sun Eaters. The city of alien structures around the Central Power Battery was now called New Maltus, and thousands of alien refugees from destroyed planets and star systems had been offered residence. These refugees worked in restaurants, clothing stores, the Corps apartment complexes, etc. and kept the GLC honest. Some six hundred or so Lanterns stationed on Oa had even moved their families there.

On Mogo the Corps was trained under senior Lanterns Kilowog and Stel. Mogo had been sized down to conserve energy, but had the ability to change his geography, weather conditions, and other things including creating a race of aliens for the Corps to train against. The Boar Beasts varied in size but were much better to train against than other Lanterns or constructs. Aside from the roughly six hundred Lanterns stationed somewhere on Oa, the rest of the Corps actively patrolled the more inhabited sectors in the 3,600 sectors of the universe. There were sector houses throughout the universe, roughly one for every ten sectors or so. In order for the Guardians’ agents to better serve in their assigned duties, these structures were created and shaped like Green Lanterns’ power batteries which were used to hold captives in custody in order to be brought to Oa for confinement in a Sciencell. They also served as recreational centers as well as meeting places for Green Lanterns of the neighboring sectors. A warning system within these buildings notified the ring bearers of any troubles within the sector. Think of it like a space station apartment complex with an Oan rec room somewhere and holding cells.

The role-play would begin with players either stationed on Oa, training on Mogo with ‘Wog and Stel, or off patrolling their own sectors. If we do this stat based, only the larger battles would include the stat system. Here’s a quick breakdown of the system, basically a simplified D&D set-up…

STAT Breakdowns

The stats for this game will include:

I.Q. - (how strong your characters are mentally, for example Brainiac would have a pretty high I.Q. where a rookie's would be less. Average human/alien would be 2.) IQ will determine if your Signature move is worth double [IQ set at 1-5] or triple [IQ set at 6-10] hp.

Strength - (1-5 has -1 damage, 6-10 has -2 damage) Average human strength would be set at 2, only characters with heightened or super strength should increase higher! EDIT: However, one could view your strength as the strength of your attacks!

Speed - (1-3 has 3 attacks per post, 4-7 has 4 attacks available, 8-10 has 5 attacks) Speed NOW also effects Defense in the same way Attack is effected by Strength. 1-5 speed regains +1 health, 6-10 is +2 health.

Attack - (number of attacks) Players will have melee attacks that are not included on your attack stat including basic punches and kicks, an ring blast, and alien tail swipes or bites. Attack is for things like construct hammers, throw, generic alien powers like acid spit, etc...

Defense – (number of defense moves) Each defensive move can be used twice per battle. If your defense is 2 and the battle lasts 4 posts you can use 4 defense moves. If the battle rages on for 7 posts you are still limited to only 4 defensive moves total in that case. Defense can't block a signature attack!

Health - (IQ+strength+speed+defense) Health is also reset every 8 posts or during time skips in-game!

*Signature moves awarded at Level 3 do double or triple damage depending on IQ. The attack/defense itself should include your alien ability. The only defense against a signature attack is a signature defense that can also be a move based on your alien ability. Signature Defense is also the only defense you can use to help another player directly in-game from an enemy attack be it a regular attack or signature attack! At the moment you can only have one or the other, Signature Attack or Signature Defense.

Now... that's not a lot of info at all really. As far as stats go, I know once you have 6 points on strength some of you might ask "what's the point of having strength or speed any higher?" and the simple answer is writing limitations. If a character like Superman has 6 strength and a God like Zeus walks by with a strength of 8, in the context of the story Zeus would of course be viewed as stronger. Same thing applies for speed.

Power Class - you earn a stat point/level for every 5 posts in-character.

Level 1 - 16 points - 1-5 posts
Level 2 - 17 points - 6-10 posts
Level 3 - 18 points (plus signature attack or defense!) - 11-15 posts
Level 4 - 19 points - 16-20 posts
Level 5 - 20 points - 21-25 posts
Level 6 - 21 points - 26-30 posts
Level 7 - 22 points - 31-35 posts
Level 8 - 23 points - 36-40 posts
Level 9 - 24 points - 41-45 posts
Level 10 - 25 points 46-50 posts

If the game lasts long enough, and it might, we'll go beyond Level 10 and probably continue on to Level 15. Boss stats will be Level 15 to Level 20 with stats between 30-35 points making a team effort to defeat the enemy a must.

I should also go ahead and mention this will be on another site (a Green Lantern Corps forum) that I’m trying to get some more traffic in before it dies. We went from about 100 active posters down to about 66 in the last few months. If I can even get five of you guys to join those forums for the RP then I’ll have met my goal LOL.

This will also be an RP where I’ve provided over 40 microhero heads and 23 body bases so players can create their own GL’s for this RP. So even if we decide against the stat system, there’s still plenty of stuff to keep your interest. So far we’ve got around 5 or 6 interested parties, if I can get somewhere between 10-15 total I think we’ll have a great cosmic themed RP on our hands. One of the Mods of the site is also interested in joining, so if there’s ANY problems we’re gonna have a guy already on call who can help us with the quickness. Finishing the reading now, already got part of a post worked up. Sorry for the delays, just been a helluva last couple weeks. And I just found out the $4700 I was getting back during tax season was taken by the government which has kinda put me in a bind. If we need to go ahead and see the current episode end so we can divide the cast for a couple of new missions let us know!
