Yea that's fine Roze.
Hi!
You know... dealing with a dragon menace is scaled to be pretty difficult. Without Dragonrend, we cannot bring them down to the ground to deal the most damage we possibly can. Archers and mages (although dragonhide is probably resistant) would have to bip away at their wings until they can't fly anymore. Befriending a dragon would be difficult as we don't have a bargaining position. We aren't respectable in their eyes because we haven't mastered the Thu'um so we can't really hitch a ride to the portal of Sovengarde. Parthy is our best bet at an ally here. Unless we perform a capture at Windhelm. Without summoning one. Or have some other anti-Alduin dragon help us out. Whatever the case, it is going to be great fun!
If I may add a few things to some of the topics now that I am present? @ The Topic of Learning Shouts: The Greybeards themselves study their entire lives, a lifetime of practice, meditation, and harnessing the power of the Thu'um and they barely know a few full shouts. (FusRoDah, Whirlwind Sprint, and Clear Skies) Ulfric Stormcloak trained with for an undisclosed amount of time, and learned what is labeled as "a shout" which is the same he used to kill the High King. A "dozen or so words" would be one thing, but to learn to shout with those words as well would demand you spend a life-time with the Greybeards. @ The Topic of a Mammoth Mount: Oddly enough.. this isn't the first time this topic has come up in an ESRP I was present for.. I did one quite some time ago with some close friends and a random joiner wanted one, we all voted against for a few simple reasons. Even though this person only wanted it for a "Pack Mount" it is still a Mammoth. It still wields tusks, it would naturally and realistically act as one, and on top of that Mammoth Calves are roughly the size of a large cow, and in the lore they are only tamable by Giants. Of course not everything this rp does is lore-strict, but I still feel it would present OP-opportunities as it is a gigantic Mammal wielding massive ivory weapons and the strength of a titanic mound of flesh. I vote against the Mammoth, sorry.
I kind of have to side with this, but I'm pretty guilty of using that creative freedom to my advantage. The actual Dragonborn died meaning the power of mastering the Voice in a short period of time was lost with him/her. For gameplay, that means the characters have to take down dragons and all sorts of nasty creatures without the advantage the Dragonborn had. And we surely don't have several years to learn a single shout. However, I get the impression he was going to learn to interpret the language a bit. That could be useful! Deciphering between a kill command or a retreat command (just an example) could prove vital. That wouldn't take years and still have its uses! Maybe but probably not too much. As for a mammoth, you can certainly make an entrance but the Dova..group (whatever we are called) don't really have pack animals or mounts. At least I don't believe so. We will also be traversing a lot of narrow and cramped terrain which means a mammoth is not likely to follow or die trying. Similiarly, a mammoth is a massive target with all that wool/hair for a fire-breathing dragon that you might have to be ready to see your companion die. Gameplay-wise it is restrictive and kind of useless, but restrictive and useless items or flaws can make for fun gameplay so whatever the consensus decides, I'm with them! :D But take all that with a pinch of salt, as I did kind of pick an almost extinct race.
I was only going to have him learn abou dozen or so words, maybe some pronunciation, then give up, as it's way harder than dwemer or the little bit of Alliyd he picked up.
Speaking of language, Faire has her journal wrapped in hide and suspended from her belt in a secure fashion. I'm not sure that you had noticed Roze, or not. It is written in the Falmer tongue so unless Dreet-Na or anyone could read or identify it then, its usage as proof of Faire's race isn't really viable.
Haha that pick up line. Not even Sheogorath likes that much cheese. Now, I already know Niko will be quite patient in gaining friendship with Faire - and will probably become rather protective of her. Which means pick up lines like that will be fairly looked down down upon by him :) I can't see Faire liking it either haha XD
Well Faire was a fan of sappy romantic stuff back in the day.
I can see Niko working his way patiently through all the racism and showing Faire - and perhaps our Altmer friend - that not all Nords are bad. Coz y'know. He likes to make friends. :)
Oh at a time, Faire actually liked her neighbors, the Nords. Many Nordic feasts, friends and celebrations lie deep within her mind, but it is easy to forget after 4000 years of stewing on the massacre of her people, even if the Falmer were the aggressors at first. Once an outgoing gal, she now sits in silence and solidarity. Friendship is the perfect remedy, though that won't happen quite that easy.
I will defend our Thalmor friend. Having a meme bet of the Aldemri dominion behind us will be benficial in Valerions eyes.
Imagine how fun it would be to play the outsider in the group, too! Coming from Faire's point of view, she would welcome the cousin of her race. The Altmer and pre-fall Falmer are similar in ways. Falmer wanted to execute Nords and man because they thought they were superior to them, and the Altmer believe they are superior, too. Now when it comes to two egotistical races, I imagine they didn't get along so it can swing both ways. That and the Altmer would either revere a surviving Snow Elf, or discriminate against her. I personally believe the latter would happen.
For everyone else, I think we're waiting on Faire. I'm looking forward to seeing her reaction to the words of her captors. :) Oh, and in terms of the first post in the OOC, I'm going to update the character list in the weekend, so I can kick some of the others and add new ones. Although there is a new tab for characters, it's easier to just be able to click and find.

And Faire has responded. I am quite pleased with how it went, too! :D
Begrudgingly, the Nord was right. Faire was being a idiot for wandering about late at night without her wits about her. Ending up in this predicament was result of that. But Faire had to admit, all of this did seem a bit unusual. Although she had some close encounters previously, she never blatantly compromised her security like walking right into view of a large camp. The other odd thing was this camp. A non-volatile mixture of races that weren't at each other's throats? Faire hasn't been a part of this new world for very long but she knew enough that Nords typically hated elves, and Khajiit and Arogians did not mix well. And what was up with that man who nearly killed her? This Nord tells her that they aren't a vicious group but that "thing" is allowed among the group? He or it, Faire hasn't decided on which, just gave off a malicious aura and she wasn't just saying that because he almost killed her. Everything about this seemed like it was meant to happen. Curse Auri-El and this situation all together. The Nord removed Faire's belt to fully disarm her, but also took the opportunity to remove her hood revealing Faire's white locks, a calling card to help identify what race she truly belonged to. The Nord also took a gander at her Falmer dagger, which stood the test of time alongside Faire. Various chips and scars marked the blade signifying great age but Faire had none of that. Her skin remained flawless. The Nord took a long look at Faire, trying to wrap his lesser Nordic mind around the question of Who. Faire opened her mouth, about to respond, before the death dealer chimed in. He, too, leaned in an examined the captive. His dialogue was riddled with arrogance, and all he really did was made Faire feel even worse about this. She hated him, whatever he was. Again Faire was prepared to respond but the Argonian, who Faire shot earlier, finally spoke up. He had been eyeing her in silence for this whole time but finally added his piece. Much to Faire's dismay, the Argonian was educated, much like a mage should be, and he managed to deduce what Faire was even without a precedent specimen to examine beforehand. After all, how would one know what a Snow Elf looked like outside of a very few academic books. Faire watched the Argonian fiddle with the hole in his shirt. She felt relieved that he healed his wound, as did not want death for the Argonian, but now there was an issue of Faire's identity. It was very likely this group could sell Faire to the right buyer and not even look back for the amount of gold they would receive. Enslavement or anything like it, was not something Faire wanted. "You wager blindly, Argonian. The Falmer you speak of are dead. In there place, purple husks crawl about the underworld." Her steaming anger was now exchanged for a frown and brief expression of sorrow. "I am but an Altmer, hiding from the cruel racism of the Nords." She shot a glance to the Nord and scowled before turning back to the Argonian. "You have no proof otherwise.." Her tone changed to a feigned innocence.
