It was nice traveling with people again as the caravan paced along this mountain pass. Company was sort of a rare commodity for a Dunedain Ranger due to the fact that there was just so much ground to cover in Eriador and areas far beyond. The exception came whenever tackling an assignment that required more hands, namely assaults, but even then your company was sparse and definitely not like this. Gweniera felt like people were everywhere on this trail as kids scurried past playing a game. Gwen had been in caravans before but for some reason, this one felt the ever more lively. Whether it was just her imagining or not, she did not know. However, she appreciated the ambience as they moved along. It was a great distraction for the occasional bout into her worrisome depression. It was a rare thing for a Ranger to quit but that was the least of it. Gwen felt like she had betrayed her comrades and guilt came and went as the tides of a shoreline do. Not only that, but she felt a whole myriad of emotion concerning her betrayal. It was often too overwhelming for her, but at the very least, she could at least coach herself that it was probably for the best that she left for now. She was distracted and if something happened to a comrade, or herself for that matter, she couldn't afford to be distracted.
Regardless, she was here now and hopefully she could figure herself out. Interacting with some of the travelers had really gone a long way in boosting herself. The children were charmingly affectionate to the notion that Gwen was a Dunedain and had often sought her out for stories. Many of the their parents and adults in general were also pretty thankful for having her around. They felt safer and in turn, that made Gwen feel better.
Still, she was a bit peeved with some of the other members, like that orc hunter, Darcyn. Of course everyone hated him and despite Gwen's hidden desire to just be rid of that man, she couldn't do it. She was secretly afraid of his posse, still getting flashbacks to the band of bandits who had taken her only months ago. Thus, she tended to avoid them and their general harassment. She had been occasionally harassed and while it did shake her up a little, things didn't escalate. Perhaps due to her reputation as a ranger or perhaps just due to luck. However the case, she definitely got off better than some. At times, Gwen wanted to step in on the victims' behalves but again, she was pretty shy now. Although she promised herself that she would step in if they ever went too far, but even still, she wasn't sure.
At the moment, Gwen had been riding Collie, her horse, just down wind from Darcyn and his crew, hovering towards the back of the caravan. She preferred it this way as she was provided a better view of the caravan ahead but could know if things happened behind her. She kept her head down for the most part, though. Cloaked under her hood and cape.
Appearance: Gweniera stands close to six feet but just under. She possesses a slender, girlish frame with small curvature. Her hair is a brilliant blonde, almost bordering a white color and her hair is often kept loose, lazy bun. Her eyes are perhaps even more vibrate than her hair with an almost glowing green color to them. Her face, adorned with small features, and skin has a creamy white tone and looks soft except for a large scar that runs from the top of her left cheek down to her chin with a slight outward curve to it before continuing across her shoulder. There are a few other pinkish scars elsewhere on her body but none as impressive.
Equipment: Gwen is dressed in a loose, white, cloth, long-sleeved shirt and form-fitting dark brown leather pants. She wears around knee-high leather boots, a brown color slightly lighter than the pants, and wears tight leather gloves that stretch up to her mid forearm. For protection, she wears a similar dark brown, sleeveless leather cuirass. Around her waist is a belt with a holster for sword, on her side, and dagger, across her backside. All is usually partially hidden under a forest green cloak, held around her upper body with a Dúnedain star broach. A quiver of arrows and a hunting bow can usually be found slung around the woman’s back with a small pack of basic equipment, like a sleeping roll. Basic equipment includes tobacco, pipe, tinderbox, hatchet, small cooking pot. Has a coin purse with little money. Finally, has a brown horse with white patches named Collie
Personality: Gweniera is considered by comrades as warm, approachable, and very sociable with the exception of a very dry, sarcastic humor that takes one several encounters to understand she isn’t serious. In fact, many first impression consider Gweniera to be quite cold and pessimistic but the reality is she is quite the opposite. She falls into the role of a protector very easy, although recently she has become distraught with recent events that have left her shaken and distracted. You’ll find her a bit slower to trust and perhaps a lack of interest at a companionship, at least at first.
Story: Gweniera has recently recalled her service to the Dunedain Rangers and fled stating that she “quits for good” after a near miss had almost costed her life. The truth is, she had a bad run in with some bandits, betrayed by a friend to be in such a compromised position. Those people are still out there and while Gwen has sworn revenge, she fears that she isn’t well enough to face them.
Biography: Gweniera was born in the region of Eriador to a small family of what seemed like lowly bar owners. It was their preferred patrons that set them apart from establishments, however. The Dunedain Rangers had always called the Barbed Bee a home and it became a sort of front, or headquarters, for Dunedain affairs. As a child, she loved hearing the tales that the regulars had told and always wanted her chance, one day. As she aged, her life of simply being a barmadien would soon turn to becoming an ranger's apprentice, being passed from ranger to ranger as they accomplished tasks of varied difficulty. From then on, she became a full-fledged member, claiming her birthright that her parents had given her, extended life.
Decades later, Gweniera would face a near death experience that came from a betrayal. On a routine response to a familiar town's call, she was lead into an ambush by a friend in town. Outnumbered by human assailants, she became wounded and disarmed, but instead of a quick death, her captors had plan on dragging things out. Plus, they had some other more nefarious things in mind. Thankfully, Gwen escaped early in her capture, only after a day., but the damage had been done and she quietly abandoned her position in the Dunedain. She fled east and has become a drifer ever since, failing to find strength in her quest for revenge.
@LadyRunic So I'm super tired right now, otherwise I would finish it but I think the only thing that needs work is the Bio. I'll add the specifics of her training and the recent events concerning her betrayal and walking out on the whole Ranger thing. Let me know if everything else is okay, though. The shorthand bio below is just like an abstract.

Realistically, claws probably do not have the power to cut through armor, though. In fact, tougher leathers will be resilient but not impenetrable for that type of weapon.
