@Rune_Alchemist I would like to point out that finding Pokémon is an integral part of the game design, so of course someone who isn't actually looking for the Pokémon will have a disadvantage. I warn that the gyms will not be pushovers like in the games, and they might have unreasonable challenges that'll test the adaptability of the Trainers. Maybe that'll serve as incentive to search for suitable Pokémon? Haha. Well, we'll see what happens.

@Delta44 A little dragon, eh? Heh. With only two of the rarer types as weaknesses and resistances towards four more common types, that's one heck of a type to start with. The Fairy type made their weaknesses a little more common, but that's going to be a considerable advantage at the start. Ice and other Dragon types typically don't show up until later, after all. Heh. Well, in exchange, it's not going to evolve in a LONG while! XD
@Rune_Alchemist Hey, I used that feature myself, I know what you were talking about. XD

What I meant was that I prefer that you seek out the Pokémon you want rather than influence the world with a PM to the GM in order to magically increase the chances of encountering those Pokémon.

However, your example does have its merits. It would make my players feel more rewarded for their more random searches, wouldn't it? If it is a feature that my players want, then I can implement it.
@Eklispe Aron is totally alright for starter~

@Rune_Alchemist@Eklispe That's not a realistic feature... XD

There will be means to collect the Pokémon you want. All of them. For instance, if you see a trainer with a Pokémon you want, you can ask where s/he got it. If you also have specific Pokémon in mind then the chances of locals being able to tell you where they are and how to find them will become much higher. You can always use the excuse that "a trainer I once saw as young had one" for how you know about the Pokémon, or similar. With access to information like that, the collection of your perfect Pokémon Team becomes far from impossible, an achievable goal.

As such, no, I'd rather not have that feature. Earn the Pokémon you desire, and be surprised about the Pokémon you might find before you. That's how I like my Pokémon World.

Edit: That is, assuming you're not going to Legendaries. If you are, then we have a bit of a bigger problem. Haha.
@Keyblade87 This roleplay is open first and foremost to a specific gathering of players, as I've written right below the title higher up. As the Join Status up there clearly points out, this roleplay is decreed "Full" until I have evidence of the opposite. I will open it up if I find that I do, in fact, have a need of more players. Though, thanks for your interest.
@Eklispe I can totally understand that. It's just that, this time it helps me to know how many players I have accounted for. XD

Glad to hear it~! Now that I know, I can patiently wait for a while as you finish it~!
@Lasrever Alright, very well. I'll consider it.

@Rune_Alchemist ... Huh. I don't recognize that ability, and I've used my fair share of Raltses. *checks*

Oh, dear. Hidden abilities. Er. Okay. Never had to deal with those before, but that changes now! *researches* ... Eh, pointless unlocking methods. The ability can be rather useful. EH, YOU MAY HAVE IT. Logically, there would be no such thing as "hidden abilities" in a real Pokémon World, just kinda rarer abilities! And it seems that the key for hidden abilities is "you don't obtain them normally in your region". Well, guess what? Isson is now the region all those Pokémon with hidden abilities come from! XD

Otherwise, yupp. Feisty one. Claire is accepted~!

Accepted characters may be posted in the characters tab~

... Now, lets wait for the rest. I know at least three more that intends to join, one who's not sure, two that hasn't responded at all, and one that chose the day of my PM to not return to the Roleplayer Guild for a while. Eh. Efforts will be made.
@Delta44 Glad to have you here~

@Lasrever Yupp. She looks good. Supremely normal and innocent, just the way one can imagine a new Pokémon Trainer. And Wooper's silly face looks as silly and happy as ever.

Abigail is accepted~

... Hm. That's a detail I might have overlooked. I haven't specified anything about HOW you all were picked to receive your Pokédexes. You say you tried and tried again to get a Pokédex and failed, but I'm not sure how you failed. As far as I can tell, Kalmia's just handing out a couple of Pokédexes to whoever she pleases, though yeah, it helps if they've distinguished themselves somehow. But, this certainly works. Luke had been picked to be given one of the Pokédexes, but there weren't more to pass around. Then Luke got sick (sick enough that he can't just wait a week or so? ... must be bad), and Kalmia remembered that girl that had made her attempts to be picked numerous times. ... And being who she is, Kalmia totally would have rejoiced at a chance to present a girl with her dream~

That said, it does make me wonder what's up with Luke. Huh. Am I in control of that, as the GM? XD
Noticed my first error already. Alright. Let's check the source of her name, and check every single place where I refer to her as one or the other...

@Rune_Alchemist I actually had most of it done before I sent the PM, to ensure the wait wouldn't be too long. Haha.
Note: Movesets used are ORAS, specifically. Omega-Ruby and Alpha-Sapphire.

Pureplain City

The sun shines. It's in the midst of spring, the temperature finally on a rise and plants have gained their green colours.

Pureplain City is placed on the south-west brink of Isson, with the town facing the water and spreading quite far. The further in-town you go, the higher the buildings become, but the suburbs spread quite far. In terms of sheer landmass, it might even compete with Worldedge City, although maybe not in height. Life passes normally within this city. Children grow up alongside their parents in houses in the long, friendly streets. Jobs come from the depths of the town in the taller buildings. Schools grow from the reasonably high amount of children in need of tuition. And of course, there are lots of Pokémon.

In Pureplain City, human and Pokémon work together. Be it for manual labour or just for company, Pureplain houses often contain at least one house-hold Pokémon and there are many Trainer's Schools around the city that are plentifully attended. … They were, anyway. With the recent Team Wars between Team Amethyst and Team Virtue, there was a decrease of trainers who dared set out. Pureplain City rejected any team activity, protecting its citizens, and the Trainer's Schools saw a decrease in activity due to what fearful parents might have come to associate trainers with. However, nowhere was normal trainers at fault.

While the town was so normal now that it could be described as boring, with few exciting things ever happening here other than kids growing up, but it was from here a number of new Pokémon Trainers would be embarking on their Pokémon Journeys.

'Mmmmm-HMMMmmghflnuff...' Professor Kalmia made a noise as she stretched, just having woken up from her sleep. She was inside the house-portion of her Pokémon Lab, where she lived. It was very convenient, having her lab be linked to her real home. In the bed on the opposite side of the room slept her assistant, Vivia, who was snoring way louder that she would ever admit to be doing. On the floor sat her Slowpoke, the pink creature standing towards her on four legs, wide-open mouth and large unintelligent eyes. Eh, nevermind that one.

Kalmia couldn't resist smiling. The sun was shining outside, and today was the day when she would finally be providing Pokédexes to her first batch of trainers since becoming a Pokémon Professor. She might actually be more excited than the trainers she was starting out. All because of that stupid Team War, she had been unable to start out some trainers for a while... but now, ALL THAT WAS GONE! It was time to... to... She quickly retrieved her glasses from the desk beside her, and looked at the time.

'I OVERSLEPT!' Panic took her. She must have gotten too excited preparing for this morning last night. She spun around with desperate eyes towards her Slowpoke, and...

'Slowpoke! Didn't I tell you to wake me up at-'

'SLOW!' And the Slowpoke suddenly shot out a Water Gun straight at Kalmia, who-

'HYAH!' - dodged aside at the last second, falling down into her bed and the spray of water crashed into the window behind the bed, splashing a bit of everywhere before sinking down to the floor. Turns out, the Slowpoke had apparently been intending on Water Gunning Kalmia awake for... a while.

'Wah...' Kalmia sat up slowly, staring with a stunned expression at her Pokémon, her glasses somewhat ajar. 'You were... actually intending on waking me up as I asked you to.' She said in stunned surprise, like she hadn't actually been expecting the Pokémon to do that. Slowpoke made no motion that seemed to imply that it had heard her.

'GOOD JOB!' Kalmia announced happily to her Slowpoke, giving it an excited thumbs-up and a wink. 'There! I told you, Vivia! Tell it the same thing every single night, and you're sure to get results!'

'Ueh...?' Vivia sat up slowly, having obviously been woken up by the noise earlier, but just been lying half-asleep with half-closed eyes staring up into the roof until she had been addressed. Kalmia ignored her and looked to her Slowpoke again.

'Really good job! But, start waking me up twenty minutes- no...' She looked at the watch to check. '… An hour earlier next time! That'd be perfect!' Also, Water Gun wasn't really optimal, but one step at a time!

'Thank you!' Kalmia happily jumped up and started putting on her lab-coat, Vivia wondering what all the fuzz was about before she too slowly looked at the clock and then let out a shriek at how late they were and started getting going as well. The Slowpoke was left standing staring at the soaked window without additional movement.

Now, then. You all. You were told to gather in front of Professor Kalmia's lab at 8 AM. It's not located in the midst of Pureplain where all the skyscrapers are, but it's fairly close, just where the lower houses start to become the norm. How was your morning? Did you do anything special for the occasion of intending to leave on your Pokémon journey? Any parents you want to say good bye to? Have you come from afar to be here? Anything else?

Note that travel by car is not the norm in the Pokémon World. They do exist, but you're likely not given a ride in one. Any case, somehow or elsewise, you're headed to in front of this single-floor wide building with an off-shoot that looks like a regular house, with a Pokéball symbol on the front of the lab-area, and a sign in front of it that says “Pokémon Lab”. Assuming you weren't more than an hour late, you will have been forced to wait for Kalmia here.
