@Delta44 Alright. I do want to mind that I'm going to give a bit of consequences whenever someone attempts doing two moves at once, or they might make it a habit, but for this one it kind of makes sense. But, still, something to keep in mind. My reasoning behind why something specific happens might be "this Pokémon tried to do two things at once, and hence wasn't as strong as this opponent who only did one". Might be. Anyways. I'll count it as Tackle first, Flash second, and then see where it goes from there. Haha. Well posted.
@Joshua Tamashii Of course~
@Joshua Tamashii Alright. Tactics. Now to convince myself of the physics with which Smog works. Haha. Nicely posted.

@Pikmin Eye Yeah, given the circumstances, not much else you can do. Haha. Anyway. Nicely posted.

@Eklispe I will note the average Aron is 0.4 meters tall. It's not exactly as if Dawkin can hide behind him if he charges, unless he's crawling right behind the headbutting Pokémon. That said, not saying getting to the middle is impossible. You can still attempt forcing your way through, or however you plan to.
@Pyromaniacwolf Gotcha.

@Eklispe *throws hands into the air* Sure! Why not? Haha.
@Pyromaniacwolf So, tell me if you want to post something and do anything, but I keep on posting for now because, well, you're currently not in a place where you can do a lot. But yeah, tell me if you have something you wish to post about, and I can wait you in next time.

@Pink Madness No, that Cooltrainer didn't spawn out of nowhere because I wanted someone to praise Donna. What are you talking about? *cough*

But yes. Captured Pokémon are now entirely under the player's control, though with the details as I formed them before you captured them, like level, ability and gender. So there ya go.

@Eklispe@Pikmin Eye So, yeah. Dawkin will be arriving after the swarm, so likely the approach is going to look a little different. Buuuuuuuuut... yeah. Dawkin can still have said the line. Or he could have taken a different action. Hahaha.

Gosh, you guys have been fast. I'll note, I do not necessarily intend on posting every two days, but right now I don't mind, I slightly prioritize getting somewhere somewhat fast right now to not leave @Pyromaniacwolf standing there for an excessively long time waiting for the battle to end. Haha.

*reads through own post half a dozen times* Ya know, I get the feeling I could keep proofreading this forever. It's probably fine. I can hit the post button. Hahahaha.
@Delta44@Pyromaniacwolf

‘Huf.’ Oaken made a noise with his eyes closed as Ren used something one couldn’t tell without sight. The noise felt like “as if you could fool me”. He felt underestimated. As if he could be fooled by something so simple. Every single detail was etched into his mind!

‘Horsea. Left side. Bubble!’ He commanded, and dutifully Horsea spun in that direction and unleashed the bubbles, blowing in and blowing out a spray of bubbles that actually came kind of close to Amelia and Joshua’s battle before bursting, a bit out of the way. … However, clear to anyone who could see, Oaken had given his command too fast. Shyn hadn’t been hit and could easily just wait out the bubbles, before dashing forward again at the now recharging water-Pokémon.

‘HORS!’ Horsea made a startled sound as he was pounced, suffering a tackle to his lowered defense, recoiling from the impact as he floated away from Shyn. He was already considerably damaged now, making up for the damage Shyn had suffered at the start of the battle.

‘... Back away. Keep a slight distance. Bubble it. … Try predicting where it will dodge and intercept.’ There was distinct disappointment in Oaken’s voice as he gave his instructions. The damaged Horsea quivered, hearing the tone, but followed the orders. Showing off his ability to be turned in any direction while swimming any other, Horsea floated off while always directed roughly towards Shyn, accuracy still decreased, and tried to attack using Bubble, spraying them where he’d predict his enemy to be.

Nincada used Harden, increasing his defense while Martin stained himself with a bit of dirt. Quite indeed, the sweet smell remained ever present, barely hampered by the dirt he had applied to himself. And, given that the smell had reached so far that so much of the swarm was heading here, the smell likely stuck to the dirt he threw on himself as well. Maybe not as heavily, but.

So, the swarm of shining lights arrived, the front covered by an uncountable amount of Volbeats. A number engaged Nincada, simply because Nincada was there, though due to limited space only a few could Tackle at the same time. Nincada was doing fairly well, Harden meant the bugs were doing barely any damage, but given the sheer amount of Volbeats his little stings didn’t do much to the swarm in turn, either.

Nincada wasn’t enough to hold back the swarm, that flew straight over him towards the source, Martin. By now, even if he tried to escape, the Volbeats would be faster. They flew straight for him, and… well, they didn’t attack, but numerous of the creatures DID attempt to land on him, two feet tall creatures that actually weigh a considerable amount each (17.7 kg official weight) trying to grab onto him and try to sniff out the source of the sweet smell (his head currently) while other Volbeats swirled around him trying to get in but could not due to others of their kind, and settled for simply flying around in circles as close as they could get.

Spinning around him, some going higher in order to avoid the others, the Volbeats were creating a swirling tornado of light flying around him, the wings buzzing loudly in all directions as more Volbeats arrived and just joined the circle, spinning around the source. Quite a pickle.

Ledyba didn’t actually react to Claire’s words, just staring blankly up into the air where his companions had vanished to. Then, Ralia sounded out, startling him, but causing Ledyba to snap out of it. He gathered his courage, and responded to the challenge with determination.

‘Ledyba!’ He took speed, his wings flapping into motion as he charged, aiming a flying Tackle towards Ralia. Ralia would be able to tell her he was still frightened, but determined to overcome it. This was the action that he came to the conclusion that he was supposed to do.

Now, Joshua could have just had the two of them exchange blows, but it was clear to any onlooker that Litwick’s fire was more powerful than Pichu’s lightning.

‘Use your speed! Dodge the fire!’ Joshua commanded, smiling happily at the battle.

'Piiich!' With the new command, Pichu jumped aside, only lightly burned by the fire that flew past. The new movement meant that Pichu’s Thundershock also went largely awry, only small sparks actually hitting Litwick.

‘Alright! Be wary of fire, but use your speed, close in and Thundershock! You can do it, buddy!’ Joshua encouraged his Pokémon, and Pichu excitedly nodded, taking off towards Litwick at considerable speed, prepared to dodge.

Flame successfully dodged the Tackle, and then Donna threw the Pokéball. Cherubi gave a surprised noise as it was hit, and then the Pokémon was taken inside the Pokéball with a bit of red light. The Pokéball landed on the ground in front of the bush, and the pair watched as the Pokéball started shaking, a little back and forth as the Pokémon tried to get free…!

Then the Pokéball gave a final ‘click’ sound, and the ball stopped moving.

Donna caught Cherubi!

New Pokémon caught! Donna earned 1000 P!

Would you like to give a nickname to Cherubi?

‘Niiiiice.’ A completely random female Cooltrainer that was just walking by gave her a thumbs up while grinning, before proceeding to just continue heading down the road, having just briefly noticed the battle. Donna was still on Route 2, the flowers and vegetation growing happily around the sides. There are wooden bridges over multiple rivers running through Route 2 into Infested Woods. Some trainers appear to have taken to standing at the bridges and challenging those who try to cross, but you could avoid those if you desired to.

Pureplain City is right behind you, perhaps a quick visit to heal up Cherubi at a Pokémon Center wouldn’t be a bad choice. Infested Woods lies basically to your right at any time, just walk off the road and you’ll be there. To the left is the wet grass that has been moistened by the nearby lake that could contain any number of Pokémon. Further along the road to the left, right by the lake stands numerous huts, the bridges seem to imply fishermen’s huts. If you just head forward along the road you will eventually reach the mountains standing in the way between Route 2 and Lakewatch Town, the road starting to rise into a steady climb until finally ending with the dark entrance into the Wet Caverns…

A choice of what to do falls onto Donna once more.

‘Alright! Um. What can you do? Do whatever you can do!’ Karlos called to Cascoon energetically.

Cascoon stood immobile, but the silk around it tightened. Cascoon used Harden!

‘Um. Okay. But, do you know any attacking moves?’ Karlos asked, his enthusiasm fading a bit.

Cascoon silently directed its spikes forward, and shot them out towards the enemy. They were a bit more purple than they had been. Cascoon used Poison Sting!

‘Alright!’ Karlos looked happy again, as the Pokémon had showed off a reasonably cool move.

The spikes bounced off Atlas without penetrating in the slightest. It did not affect Atlas.

‘Er, um. Anything else?’ Karlos asked hopefully.

Cascoon stood silently, making no move, staring forward at the unhurt enemy.

‘Aw, maaan…’ The Bug Catcher grinned sheepishly as the rest unfolded as could be expected. Atlas mud-slapped the creature, dealing nearly no damage as it was not very effective on the highly defensive bug, but enough tackles after that and victory eventually inevitably was obtained.

‘Man. Bringing a Steel-type to Infested Woods. You ARE prepared. Haha.’ Karlos joked, laughing a bit.

Dawkin was victorious! Dawkin gained 322 P for winning!

Atlas grew to level 7! Atlas learned Headbutt!

‘Thanks for the battle. Good luck!’ Karlos gave his reply before Dawkin took off.

Following the stream of light to the source was now extremely easy. Just head towards the brightest concentration of light, as the rest of Infested Woods was now considerably darker as the Volbeats had taken off. He’d find a glowing tornado of light, uncountable amounts of Volbeats swirling around a single individual in the middle, and a couple of the Volbeats engaging a Pokémon a bit in front. Way, waaaaaaaaaaay above on a branch near the crowns of the trees, he might catch a glance of an Illumise with golden details, giggling and looking down at the scene in amusement, if he for some reason looked straight up.

He might still identify Martin standing in the middle, maybe. Dawkin’s voice might be hard to hear through the cloud of buzzing wings, but he could still offer to lend a hand.
@Joshua Tamashii Kalmia saw no need to instill the "us VS them" mentality of the "my trainers could beat your trainers" thing that Kalmia and Jacques had going into Amelia. Especially when Joshua was being so friendly about it. Their little rivalry honestly seemed so childish to her right then, no need to disturb an actual child with it. Sorry about being treated as a child. Haha.

@Eklispe I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're not going to arrive before the swarm does. That said, that line still works. He still needs a hand. XD
