@Ariamis I made edits to my first part in that collab that don't seem to have made it into the post. Can you double-check the pirate-pad collab place again and edit that in, if possible? It was made at a separate computer and should be easy to spot.
@Rune_Alchemist You're not alone in sometimes feeling this emotion, and allow me to guarrantee, if there's a lack of quality in your latest posts, then I have not seen it. They're as amusing and fulfilling as ever, to me.
@Eklispe Nicely posted. Yupp, that'll do. Now's it to see if Pyro's in any situation to respond.
@Rune_Alchemist *snicker* Well, fortunately, I don't think there's mimics in the Pokémon world. Except for Geodudes and Voltorbs, that is, but at least none shaped like a chest. Or, well, suppose Cofagrigus could KINDA pass for a chest, if you don't immediately recognize it for the coffin it is... ... ... Uh. ANYWAYS! Nicely posted. Now to see what happens next. Haha.
@Card Captor@Ariamis So, I'm giving you two power over where this is actually happening and what Deni/Eli might have found out during their scouting missions. I'm also giving you the option to do stuff before this happens, just ignore me and wrap up whatever you want to have done prior to Mariette's visit if you want to. And, if you know anything that interferes with the scouting mission and make Mariette's mission impossible on account of not being able to find you, then I'll edit my post. Otherwise, I believe this is perfectly reasonable. Tell me if it isn't. Haha.
If we need to discuss things in order for Mariette to actually find the two of them together like that, then we can. I'm open to adapt for any problems we might have. So, yepp. That'll be that.
After the meeting broke apart, Mariette sent her minions to scout. Using their Darkness magic, Deni and Eli could slip around unseen under the cover of stealth magic and glide from building to building in pursuit of targets with their slimy harpy-wings. After having confirmed there was no danger, Mariette held onto the black crystal that had been given to her while the minions scouted. They had been told to locate a suitable Magical individual for the purposes that suited Mariette.
Lily and Alexander just so happened to suit this purpose.
The two of them would find themselves stalked by Deni and Eli through the night. They were capable Darkness scouts, they wouldn’t reveal themselves by some clumsy mistake unless someone with the Third Eye suddenly came hunting for them. They’d follow the two of them, and should Lily and Alexander split up then Deni followed Lily and Eli followed Alexander. They’d scout them until they figured they had learned enough, which could be as far as whenever they went to sleep, potentially. They’d eventually report back to Mariette.
Assuming that Deni/Eli wouldn’t have lost track of them or been otherwise compromised…
Mariette would then, at some point during the following day (or days if no opportunities arose) simply decide to walk in on one or both of them at some ample moment when they weren’t in the company of anyone else. It’d suddenly just be a portal that opened, and she’d walk through, transformed in her dress, eyepatch over her right eye and clutching a big stuffed bunny, with one slime harpy in tow. Eli was there with her Third Eye to ensure they were not being eavesdropped on as the portal closed. For with that, there should be no magical influences on this location. Mariette would be silent while Eli looked around to make sure of this, giving those they were visiting enough time to have the first word.
Deni, meanwhile, was holding onto the crystal while playing with kids in the park. Except for having been put on crystal-duty, she had been given the day off.
@Pikmin Eye Your interactions with Sprout amuses me. And, the contents of your post makes perfect sense. Nicely posted. Now we wait for the other two. Haha.
Speed-advantage… was something Litwick actually DIDN’T have. The big Pumpkaboo was noticeably faster than the tiny candle Pokémon, and with the opponent moving at full charging-speed while Litwick zig-zagged this difference in velocity became readily apparent and about to have consequences. While the super-sized pumpkin was slower than its tiny counterparts, that was still faster than the average Litwick.
Litwick breathed out its Smog at the opponent, which the Pumpkaboo didn’t even try to dodge but charged straight through. It had clearly taken damage from the smoke, shown by its pained expression, but it hadn’t been poisoned and it hadn’t been deterred. As Litwick was moving away, it quickly caught onto its opponent’s current position and pursued.
“Far enough away” in order to Ember wouldn’t happen, because the Pumpkaboo was about to catch up and impact. Would this cause a change in tactics?
Meanwhile, around them, the Pumpkaboo crowd, including the tiny one, had started cheering onto the battle, unclear which side they were cheering for. A strange little crowd of cheering spooky pumpkins in a spooky wood around this little battle. The stalemate of Laurinda and her Pokémon facing off against the Gourgeists was also still going on, the geists watching on intently, some still singing their ghastly song…
@Joshua Tamashii As it's mid-battle, if you post quickly enough I might just post again without taking half of forever. Haha.
@Rune_Alchemist Here's a place. Do what you feel like. Haha.
@Pyromaniacwolf@Eklispe@Pikmin Eye, you three can have conversations or agreements or just go separate ways if you want, all up to what you feel like. I will adapt as necessary.
The Confuse Ray headed for Litwick, intending on striking him head-on, angled a bit downwards where it spun in the air… when Litwick used Minimize and the Confuse Ray flew through the space where the candle-Pokémon had previously occupied to impact the ground pointlessly. The supersized pumpkin blinked in slight surprise when then an Ember came flying. Said Ember was not Minimized, and came at a speed that the obviously slower due to its size Pumpkaboo couldn’t dodge.
‘PUUUUUUM…!’ The fireball impacted with a little burst and the big pumpkin spun back in Super Effective damage. However, not to be overtaken, it spun back with a frown, the increased size also meaning increased toughness. Deciding not to waste time, it charged forth at Litwick, preparing its lungs to impact and give a startling shout as it did if it hit, using the Astonish move which also would be Super Effective in turn should it hit. It was up to Litwick and Amelia how they wished to counter this.
Claire pursued the Zigzagoon into the complex of abandoned buildings, chasing the quick little bugger carrying something shiny. In this area of multi-story buildings, abandoned after everyone had collectively agreed that living in any of the nearby cities was superior, Claire and her Pokémon would find a considerable feeling of emptiness except for the Zigzagoon they were pursuing. They maneuvered the streets, perhaps noting that the Zigzagoon had a very specific destination in mind. Soon enough, Claire would be running into…?
Abandoned Shrine
So. There’s a shrine, standing on the edge between the abandoned buildings in the southern area of Route 11 and the Silent Forest further south. It’s positively tiny, and despite the markings all over around it. A few Chinglings scattered to make way for the Zigzagoon dashing through the courtyard, the little bell-Pokémon making startled chimes as they hopped out of the way.
Pokédex Entry #433 – Chingling, the Bell Pokémon. An orb in the back of its throat chimes each time it jumps, making a ringing sound. When endangered it defends itself by emitting deafening high-frequency cries. When it starts crying, it’s hard to make it stop.
The Zigzagoon jumped inside the tiny shrine and jumped behind the podium inside. On top of the podium stood a strange mirror. It was adorned with an odd frame that had varying colors adorning it. As for what it was or what it was doing here, there were no particular answers for.
Ralia, though, could sense a large amount of hostility coming from right on top of that roof, starting from the moment they entered the pathway up to the shrine. While she couldn’t see the cause, someone or something was definitely up there, emitting an unpleasant amount of hostility. … And appeared to be waiting for something. Running after the Zigzagoon now would take Claire right underneath the hostility…
After a Water Gun from Wooper and another Ember from Houndour, this one hitting its mark, the Zubats got the idea and while damaged fluttered away from the scene. While they might be brave, they hadn’t been openly engaging in battle and taking on three trainers at the same time was a bit more than they had bargained for. However, that was just three of the cave’s Zubats. There were a whole lot more in there that hadn’t yet gotten the idea.
Participating Pokémon earned some experience, though not enough to gain any levels. The three of them could now discuss what they’d like to do now. Or, if they felt like it, just head off with their own missions in mind. The three stood in the entrance corridor of the Wet Caverns, where the road split into three. One dark and deep path in the middle, one dry and rocky to the left, one flooded and wet to the right. The smell Houndour sensed was to the right.
Furthermore, further in that path to the right the path split again, one continuing the underground river to the left and to the right was a step out of the water. Dawkin would remember he went the path right there to escape his pursuers. Houndour would feel the smell he was pursuing going both right and left there, though left more recently. That’s about it.
