... Geesh, policeman. Eli wasn't actually attacking you. XD
Alright. I'll at the very least wait for an Amber post before posting, though BP can wait for whoever she wants before that. Edit: Alternatively, if someone tells me to post, I will.
On a different note, should I take everyone directly to the Overcity or just elsewhere? Elsewhere makes more sense, we're in a very confused state right now and not exactly focused for whatever Justine's immediate counter-attack might be, yet it might save us some time if we're just going to head there anyway. Hah.
@Joshua Tamashii Since you didn't complete that thought, I prioritized getting something out quickly so you can continue that. @Eklispe Give a shout if you want Dawkin to do something else during this and I can wait with my next post for you two until you've written too, heh.
@Pirouette So, I consulted my charts for this place, checked in with lady luck, and you found... this one. Not a rock, not sure if it's anything you're even remotely interested in, but hey, it's something? XD
Well, we have lost a few players. The waiting list is empty. I did feel five players to be a bit little, but I kind of didn't want more than six. I probably shouldn't actually, because it encourages ignoring the "full" status, but I'm going to go ahead and go with the easy way out and say sure. I'll still want you to start out getting a Pokémon from Professor Kalmia in Pureplain City. Ask if you want any other details. Don't post in the char section until I have approved. I'll note I'm currently exhausted as heck about to go to sleep and I'll be going on a trip tomorrow and over the week-end. I'll still have internet, but I'll be distracted, heh.
So, yeah. Sure. If it's just one more, sure. I can entertain that. Most areas around there are already written (and not just planned), so it'll take relatively little effort, hah. Could you get yourself a profile picture? It'd help give you a likable identity and encourage me that you're willing to invest, heh.
Edit: Oh, but old players returning are obviously still fine. Just wanted to add that in just in case any of them end up reading this.
Joy scoffed at Amelia, raising his chin and beak high while staring down at her with mild amusement, as if being condescending towards her words. He didn’t seem like he was taking her seriously.
Anger was simmering with irritation, probably still feeling that pain from those pecks, glaring sideways at the other two heads. Sorrow looked a bit more unsure of itself, eyes darting a bit between the other two looking a bit worried, after all, if this went south there really was no way for the three to go different ways. But, at the very least, it would appear all three heads were paying attention to her.
The miner smiled and nodded to her, and then continued with what he was doing.
Erika continued mining. She did find the gem, and then went on deeper. She might notice that the miners nearby was, in fact, finding a couple of rocks they were putting in their varying containers, but she couldn’t see what exactly they were finding from here. Anyways, she kept hacking into the ice, onwards, with what powers she had left.
It took a while, with many useless rocks found, when suddenly… huh, that’s a shape. It’s… not a shape like the shape she was perhaps looking for. That’s another Pokémon’s shape.
A meter tall and fairly ugly flower Pokémon’s shape, frozen into the ice.
Pokédex Entry #345 – Lileep, the Sea Lily Pokémon. It attached itself to rocks at the bottom of the seafloor using powerful suckers and disguised itself as seaweed until it caught prey swimming close with its tentacles shaped like flower-petals, devouring said prey whole. It went extinct over 100 million years ago, exists today only due to reanimation through fossils.
Contradicting what the Pokédex just said was the fact the Lileep in front of her was still whole and had never been a fossil, it was just frozen solid. So, how old is this ice, again? Details like that aside, looks like Erika found another Pokémon. What would she do?
@Pirouette Alright, another ball thrown, nicely posted. Now, let's see.
...
And there, I have posted.
@Pikmin Eye You did write that you were checking for Poison-types in the flavor, so I put a bit of a preference towards that. Then I checked the available Pokémon and decided this would be fun. I'm curious to your reaction.
@Eklispe@Joshua Tamashii I figure the Dodrio has some kind of system in place to avoid this exact thing happening, but that's not to say the system is unbeatable. So, how about now? Teh-heh.
@Rune_Alchemist You're free to act at any point in there, commanding another attack or so. But, yeah, if you do, add the hider below for the events that happen. I intentionally kept Anise from acting further in case you want to make a strategy with her.
Now, in the biggest and most prosperous city in the world, what kind of person would intentionally seek towards the slumiest, loneliest and diriest parts of that city? … A Pokémon Trainer looking for a Poison-type, that’s who!
The broken factories that would be the target of such an expedition looked like they had been broken due to some of their machines breaking apart due to physics working a bit differently around Mt. Edge, causing their perfectly calculated functions to go out of whack and breaking apart.
He saw more Trubbish, wild ones, which ensured that the recently released Pokémon wouldn’t have trouble making itself at home, or perhaps it had been returned where it came from? The wilder streets had Drowzees walking around like they owned the place, not even bothering to hide in any way, shape or form. They seemed to be flourishing here, with so many dreamers and Mt. Edge giving them power and all of that.
And, yeah. Poison-types, of the more common variety could be found here. Zubats lived in several factories, and here and there… A Grimer was sliding by, or a Koffing was drifting through the air smiling so happily.
Pokédex Entry #96 – Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon. It gains nourishment by consuming dreams. Fun or happy dreams are more delicious, and it can get a bad stomach from nightmares. In battle, it puts enemies to sleep and then eats their dreams. It remembers every dream it has eaten, and if you make friends with one it can show you its best dreams with psychic powers.
Pokédex Entry #568 – Trubbish, the Trash Bag Pokémon. This Pokémon is born out of a chemical reaction between garbage bags and industrial waste. They like unsanitary places, eating garbage to fuel the poison within, and will stalk people who litter. The poison it belches out can put someone to sleep for a week.
Pokédex Entry #41 – Zubat, the Bat Pokémon. It lives in colonies in dark places. It has no eyes, but when flying it is constantly emitting ultrasonic sounds which it uses to navigate through echolocation. As sunlight burns it, it’s usually only found in caves or at night.
Pokédex Entry #88 – Grimer, the Sludge Pokémon. Said to be born when the light of the moon hits sludge pumped out of factories. It drinks wastewater along with the waste of factories and loves anything filthy. Each Grimer is composed of different germs, and Grimers share bits of each other to one another to create new poisons.
Pokédex Entry #109 – Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. It fills itself with lighter-than-air gases to float, and concocts them into poisonous gases within. When agitated, it expels the gases within into a poisonous smoke-screen. However, it can fail the process and randomly blow up. At higher temperatures, it is especially prone to blowing up at little to no provocation.
Martin was walking around the emptier streets of the Industrial District watching for Pokémon. Perhaps he had just seen something that he perhaps wanted, or perhaps he had decided that he had enough and was just going to return and do something else, when suddenly he involuntarily froze in place. He found that his legs wouldn’t move as he wanted. He could still move his arms, or walk backwards, but going in the direction he intended became impossible.
Behind him, his shadow stretched, almost unnaturally so. There was a street-light that had initially caused the shadow, but the shadow was directed in the wrong angle, now. It looked distinctly unnatural, stretched out and bent. Like, something had bolted down his shadow and now he couldn’t walk anywhere because his shadow was stuck, somehow. And… just exactly where that theoretical bolt would be, stood a small shape. A small black-and-white humanoid with a purple face and two large eyes, staring intently at him, fixated on him. It stood on his shadow.
Pokédex Entry #574 – Gothita, the Fixation Pokémon. They’re always staring at something, especially trainers and their Pokémon, and can become so obsessed with watching that it doesn’t notice incoming attacks. It is said they’re watching something only they can see. Their ribbon-like feelers amplify their Psychic power.
Notable Ability; Shadow Tag - Target cannot escape should this Pokémon step on its shadow.
‘Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~’ The Pokémon was making a quiet, elongated sound as it stared at him.
Well. He had a tiny Psychic-type that had made him her latest obsession and now he couldn’t leave. Martin’s shadow currently worked as a rope tying him to that location, so he could move anywhere within fifteen meters of where Gothita was tagging it, but not anywhere away from there. What now?
Upon being approached by Amelia, two of Dodrio’s heads looked at her. The one who had sneered at them was already looking, the right head, and the left head fell to curiosity as she approached. The middle head, raised above the others, refused to look at her. From here, one could tell which was which. The one who had sneered at them was anger, the right head which was taking pleasure in their pain. The left one was sorrow, eyes dropping in a different pitiful way, who was just looking on. Then, more by process of elimination than it actually looking at all happy, the raised middle head was joy, but it looked more like the “a little less angry than anger” head.
Anger sneered more as he was praised, looking rather smug and lifted himself a bit higher, daring to come to joy’s level while cackling with pride. The other two heads gave him momentary looks before-
PECK, PECK
Joy first, unimpressed with anger’s prideful rise, pecked him and shortly after sorrow pecked him too, following joy’s example. Anger squawked out loudly, expression turning from earlier sneering to unbridled rage fitting its name as it turned towards the other two heads… and found them both facing him, staring at him purposely. Realizing he was outnumbered, anger turned and looked away, though looked a great deal more unhappy now.
Sorrow was minding his own business now, head low and just looking forward at Amelia. Joy, head pridefully raised like he hadn’t allowed anger to, looked down at Amelia and gave his own sneer. Like, he was confident he had shut down Amelia’s attempt. Though, yeah. Neither sorrow or anger looked very happy, perhaps befitting their names.
Anise simply smirked at the mention of her showing Claire nice things and probably would have responded hadn’t they then been distracted by sudden situation.
Standing behind Maple and Ellyn’s battlelines, Anise and Claire seemed to get basically the same idea. When Ralia was setting up Double Team, duplicating herself numerous times across the street, the disciple took out a Pokéball and Froakie was sent out before her.
‘Bubble at Growlithe!’ Anise commanded, and roughly at the same time Ralia’s Confusion was focused. Ellyn frowned in pain as she realized what was happening.
‘Bird, Sheep, Tree, Thing, over here!’ she commanded her Pokémon, but they were too slow to actually turn around before the attacks went off. Ralia’s Confusion hit Growly, who yelped and jumped forward a bit, surprising Maple and causing her to go wide-eyed. Froakie unleashed a stream of bubbles at the same Growlithe…
However, Ellyn herself had dashed forward and then lifted her shoulder in defense as she placed herself in the way of the Bubbles. She grunted from the water’s impact, took a number of their splashes but then fell over from the collected force of it, though she had prepared her other shoulder to take the hit to the ground. Though, yeah, she wasn’t wearing anything on her shoulders. Her four Pokémon were quick to dash and place themselves in front of her where she fell, other bubbles floating away.
‘… Sneak attacks aren’t very nice,’ Ellyn commented, sitting up, now dirty with mountain dust and clothes soaked from the Bubbles, staring at Claire and Anise.
‘Eh? E-Ellyn!?’ Maple had grabbed and calmed down Growly, but was now turning her head and blinked in confusion, rather alarmed.
‘Growly, keep Roaring! What’s-’ Commanding so and letting her Pokémon continue the battle, who almost let the next few Fighting-types get too close, Maple let go of her dog and spun around. There, she saw.
‘- Oh! Wait, you’re- you’re Claire, right?’ Maple asked, gaining a happy smile with a sudden excitement. ‘Oh, I’m so happy to see you! We didn’t get to talk earlier, but you looked like such a cool and interesting person and I really wanted to talk to you! I’m so glad we-’ -and there she stopped short, looking around and reading the atmosphere.
‘- um, what’s going on?’ She looked confused.
‘So what now? Do we fight?’ Ellyn asked, a bit of challenge in her otherwise pained eyes where she sat, scrubbing the shoulder that had fallen into the ground with one hand.
Anise next actions can be influenced in case Claire has a strategy or so. She hadn’t been the one spoken to and was a little curious to that they apparently knew her, so she hadn’t said anything yet.
Ellyn reacted instantly to the sound of Claire starting to give a battle-command, giving hers on top of Claire's.
‘Sheep! Tree! Shock and Rock! After the frog!’ Ellyn commanded, interrupting, still sitting.
At her command, the Mareep charged electricity and shot a bolt of Thundershock towards Froakie, after which the Bonsly grabbed a rock and threw at the same target, slightly after, slightly more adjusted to how Froakie was dodging.
Ellyn can only give so many commands at once, but the Natu and Cyndaquil were both ready for Ellyn’s next sentence, which might vary depending on what Claire actually said. Maple was looking so confused, hands tied as her Pokémon were still holding off the army behind her, now with half the numbers.
‘Inkay…?’ The squid-like Pokémon was calming down a bit, confident in the Reflect shields that was raised, but then another of Erika’s Pokéballs flew straight through the shields and hit Inkay straight on. The ball fell to the floor…
It shook o-
-nce, then twice, then thrice…

Erika caught Inkay!
Gender: ♀ Type: Dark/Psychic Personality: (Up to player. Keep in mind she has been frozen in ice for an eternity, and she has never seen a human before. Pokéballs are also new, and oddly comfortable.) Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: (Up to player.) Level: 9 Moves: Tackle, Peck, Constrict, Reflect, Foul Play Ability: Contrary. Stat-changing moves have the opposite effect on this Pokémon. Indirect stat-changes (as from burn, paralyzation, Reflect/Barrier) are unaffected. Held Item: None.
Currently at about 34% health.
New Pokémon caught! Erika earned 1250 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Inkay?
‘Bravo!’ the miner said, grinning a bit. ‘Sorry, I would have warned earlier, but we miners are so used to that the Pokémon we mine out attack that we don’t always think of that maybe that it isn’t obvious.’ So he says, looking like he felt a bit guilty.
So, what now?
1. Find Pokémon. Note, there are more Pokémon in the tunnels than here. Unless you’re specifically searching the ice? 2. Talk. This is basically a small settlement. They probably know a bit about mining in ice! 3. Move along. Either out of the cave, or deeper into it. 4. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 5. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Buildings. Not many, but there’s a small base here! 6.1. Miner’s Lodge. For maps, getting info or tools and learning how to mine! 6.2. Miner’s Shop. Skip all the hard work of actually mining and buy what the miners are selling! Varies every day! 6.3. Comfy Igloo. If you just want to rest, have a chat, relax, restore health. 7. Area Specific: Mining. People here mine the ice for items and Pokémon caught in the ice. You could too! 8. Wait for Joshua. He’s in there looking for an Ice-type, apparently. Erika could wait for him, if she wanted to.
Connected areas: Route 5. Exit the mines and you’ll be right there. Frozen Cave. The Frozen Cave proper awaits beyond the mine.
Common: #225 Delibird
Uncommon: #238 Smoochum
Rare:
In Ice: #321 Wailord #686 Inkay
After digging some, there is another item that seems to have a different shape than ordinary rocks. Is that a gem? … It IS a gem! A green gem! … Pale-green gem!
Erika obtained Bug Gem!
She’d probably feel the mining starting to take on her arms now, seeing how she isn’t used to mining. But she could probably continue for a bit longer, should she desire to.
@Rune_Alchemist Alright. More added to the bottom of your segment. Still inside the entering Mt. Strength hider, that is.
So, funny thing. I already knew how the teams of these two would look like at this stage from, like, WAAAAAY back. I also knew they'd be going this direction, and that the first person to enter Mt. Strength would encounter them. So, uh. Any incompatibility with your team should you happen to engage is not entirely on me. XD
@Pikmin Eye Had them talk about stuff. Maybe obvious things, but it occurred to me that Martin wouldn't have read the introductory crawl, sooooo... XD
And, hah. Trubbish was at a state where he was kind of okay with you, but since you phrased it like that. Had you asked him to stay, he probably would have without any specific feelings of apprehension. But, you put it so neutrally. Since you did, the attraction of the waste of the Industrial District of Worldedge City, as well as a certain desire for freedom, won out. ... Yeah.
@Rune_Alchemist Nicely posted. Alright, moving on. You've now entered Mt. Strength. I'm giving you the option of doing whatever you want here, though Anise has a particular destination in mind. If you'd like to be guided by Anise, feel free to just tell me, and I can go ahead and post that part, too, so you can react to it all in one swoop. Yepp.
@Pirouette Nicely posted, I am happy to see you found the time and want. I hope you'll find your energy again soon. :)
So, going by that, I simply went along as far as it would without any Pokémon necessarily fainting the other. Would you like to throw a Pokéball here? If so, I can type what happens. Or, if you do anything else, like continuing the battle, you can post about it in your next post.
First healing at the Pokémon Center. Here also lounged a few individuals, typically of the slightly older kind. The average trainer don’t have much reason to go down to the Industrial District. He probably could get information from them, but first, healing.
‘Hello, and welcome to the Pokémon Center. Would you like to rest your Pokémon?’
Assumingly, yes.
‘Okay. I’ll take your Pokémon for a few seconds, then.’
She’d then accept the Pokéballs and put them into the machine, and…
‘Thank you for waiting. We’ve restored your Pokémon to full health.’
She says as she hands the Pokéballs back. She then bows to her customer and gives a friendly smile.
‘We hope to see you again!’
Then, he called out Trubbish outside. The Trash Bag Pokémon looked around as it came out, inspecting left and right, noting how it was in a city. Martin and any nearby passerbyers would immediately feel the stench from the Pokémon, other humans frowning at the obvious cause before walking on. Trubbish turned and looked up at Martin while he spoke to it, taking a moment.
Trubbish took a few moments. It looked away, towards the factories over there, towards the buildings. There was the definite smell of trash to the Pokémon, which promised an environment it could thrive in. It then looked back to Martin, looking up at him, considering. Eventually, Trubbish came to a decision.
‘Trubbish,’ the Pokémon said in a thankful tone, before scampering off into an alley, in the direction of the factories.
It’s had a desire to be free for a while now, and was just offered the opportunity to be free. Martin’s alright, but an opportunity to be free, in such an industrial paradise? Currently, this was like heaven to Trubbish. It could but be thankful and run off.
Though, that means Martin got the ball Trubbish was in.
Martin kept the Great Ball!
Then, looking to get information, Martin would quickly find that Worldedge residents are very happy to talk about Worldedge, and not much else.
‘Huh. Trainer down here, huh. Well, unless you work down here, there’s not much to do down here. Suppose some of the factories are abandoned and have a few poison-types or ghosts, potentially. Mt. Edge draws Psychic Pokémon to it… which is why you see them around town. In the mountain itself, they’re more numerous and far tougher, heh.’ ‘The Gym Leader here’s both a powerful Major League Gym Leader and the protector of Mt. Edge… But why does Mt. Edge need a protector? Is there something inside that needs to be guarded? Are we being guarded from something within? Huh? Eh, guess that’s not important to me.’ ‘Abras are so convenient! We can teleport anywhere in Worldedge City instantly for just a little fee! Teleport systems using them should be implemented all around the world! Nevermind all the activists that don’t want to use Pokémon like that or the sceptics who fear the side-effects of teleportation, it’s for the betterment of mankind!’ ‘Worldedge City is divided into districts. This here is the Industrial District, where all the production is being done! Above us is the Information District, where all you could ever want to learn can be found! Above that is the Mystical District, which has the Gym and Stadium for amazing Pokémon battles! Then, on the other side of the mountain are the Residential, Commercial and Entertainment Districts, which I think speak for themselves~!’ ‘Careful. Of everywhere in Worldedge City, the Industrial District has the most dark corners where bad people might hide. Sure, it’s nowhere as bad as in Bigfjord, but careful. Sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong might be dangerous.’ ‘Many amazing individuals have houses here. The Champion’s villa lies in the Residential District, and Professor Dunstan, researcher of lore and legendary, lives in the Information District. … But the Champion’s never home, and Dunstan’s often at his lab in Raremine Town, closer to his work. Why can’t they stick around…? We’re left with the likes of the terrifying Crone and the insane inventor Russel…’
He had to find another trainer to talk about the outside, and he eventually found some people.
‘Hm? A young person like you? Well. If you need to ask, then I suppose you’re looking for Minor League Gyms. Freecape Town has one, and Raremine Town too has one further south, and if you cross the Mountain Valley to Stillwood Village, there should be one there, too. Of course, if you go east and then north to Gentlevale City or straight east to Witchpeak City, they have Minor Gyms, too, but I’d start in the south.’ ‘Where to go next? Pteh, as long as you don’t go to Bigfjord City, you’re fine. Don’t need to go there until you need to challenge the Major League Gym, and when that’s done, get out of there as quickly as possible. All the routes on the Southern landmass barr Route 6 are relatively safe. Caves, certain buildings and forests less so, but the Routes at least. You’ll be fine.’ ‘Why not see the sights? The Power Station up north-west is excellent if you’re lacking in Steel or Electric types, Play Park of north-east houses many rare Pokémon from all over, and then there’s plenty of heavy-hitting Fighting or Rock-types in Mt. Strength and Flying-Pokémon the southern Mountain Valley. Plenty of places to find strong Pokémon. Of course, Mt. Edge is thee place for Psychic-types, heh.’
That should do unless Martin’s going to ask about more specific things.
1. Find Pokémon. Can still search for Pokémon in cities~ 2. Talk. In cities, there are considerably more people one can talk to. Talking can give you info on local rumors and such. 3. Exit. Exit the city to any of the connected areas. 350P if you need to Abra to the other side of Mt. Edge for it. 4. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 5. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Places. Visit any of the places in the city! 6.1. Pokémon Center. Heal all your Pokémon. 6.2. PokéMart. Go to a store and buy things.also 6.3. Any of the notable places unique to the various districts. 7. Abra Teleport. 350P, and an Abra will teleport you to the other side of Mt. Edge.
Worldedge City
A rush of energy flows with the wind that breezes through the alleys of the city. Somehow, you feel lighter, like some strange weight has been taken from your shoulders. Looking up, tall, massive structures, structures seeming to defy gravity and common sense grows, stretching high into the sky and far down across the cliffs. The people look calm, focused on their duties and sprawling in their number, holding a vital position in all the businesses of Isson. The design of the streets are narrow, illogical and unstructured, feel like they would be easy to get lost in, yet it is as if you’re being guided by fate’s hand and you’ll arrive where you were intending to go. In the distance, always watching, the peaks of a distant mountain rises. You are now in Worldedge City.
Isson’s largest city. It grew into place at both sides of Mt. Edge as efforts were made to dig through the mountain and join the northern and southern landmasses, it was known as two different towns until the use of Abras as public transportation method within the city was widely adopted and the city grew to become known as one single entity. Widely accepted is the idea that a mystical energy of some form within Mt. Edge surges around the buildings, calling Psychic Pokémon towards the mountain and therefore the city. People living here have easier time feeling at ease with the world, and the laws of gravity doesn’t apply as they maybe should to the buildings around here. From this would Isson’s most successful city grow to be, at the place where two or more worlds connect. So was Worldedge City named.
It should be noted that being called a “Worldedge Resident” has some negative stigma attached to it. If you are one, you’re interpreted as a lazy individual who has it easier than the rest of the world, happiness coming naturally to you and you probably see yourself as superior to the rest of Isson, and you might not be entirely sane or yourself due to constant exposure to the energies of Mt. Edge. Of course, this is a stereotype that most people recognize and can see past, but there is no smoke without fire, so to say. There those who are very distrustful of the energies of Mt. Edge and would rather never subject themselves to it. These particular dislikes compounded and grew strong enough in some people that the Crossing was created just south of Worldedge City just so those individuals could get past without entering the city.
The city is comprised of six different districts. Three districts on each side of Mt. Edge, stapled on top of one another by the way of leaning on the cliff sides and mountain as well as giant pillars, taking advantage of the strange physics around Mt. Edge. Exits out of the city are on the middle districts of each side. Each district have their own Pokémon Center and Pokémart, but otherwise have their own unique features.
Mystical Sector
The tip and top of Southern Worldedge City, here the power the mountain provides is enough for certain buildings to float in mid-air. Assisted by Psychic-Pokémon, the upper echelons of the city contains a significant price-tag for those who’d wish to live here and so filters the more common men to the levels below, yet there are activities that draw trainers up from the depths. First and foremost is the Pokémon Gym, floating above their heads, and also the Worldedge Floating Stadium, the largest and most amazing of the multiple stadiums in Worldedge City, where the most epic of battles in the city are fought and watched. Truly, these streets so high above the rest leave a certain impression as one walks here.
Notable Places:
1. Pokémon Gym. Worldedge City Gym. It’s one of those towers floating in mid-air… You need to fly to get there. 2. Worldedge Floating Stadium. Worldedge’s biggest stadium, floating over the city. Have Minor (level 25-minus), Middle (level 25-50) and Major (level 50-plus) cups. 3. The Villas of the Rich. Not that there’s much you could potentially do with them, but they’re here. 4. Orlando’s Spiritual Dojo. A dojo focused on discovering one’s spiritual self. Often takes trips into Mt. Edge. You can join an expedition for protection, or challenge them! 5. Marilyn’s Divination. Tell her where you’re going next, and she can divine your luck and what to look out for when there! 6. Gym Leader’s Home. … So, those who can’t get to the Gym themselves are sometimes known to wait for the leader here. It’s a little frowned upon.
Information Sector
No, they’re not exclusively witches around here.
A common and calm area of Worldedge City, this district attracts those who would fancy themselves scholars. They may seek to share their knowledge at the multiple cafés spread about, read up at the library, check into the museum or any number of things. There aren’t that many things here that would keep a Pokémon Trainer dawdling around for long, and most residents here are fine with that. It is still quite the spectacle, walking on the bridges between these pointy buildings, finding the streets and wondering how you're not lost yet in this maze of stairs and bridges, never touching the ground. Far above lies the Mystical District and there are plenty of stairs up, and down below is the Industrial District… It may feel a bit enclosed. Most notable in this area is most certainly the famous Professor Dunstan’s lab and residence, which he mostly leaves to his companions as he spends a lot of his time in the other lab in Raremine Town as well.
Notable Places:
1. Gossiping Cafés. If you want to hear the useful kind of gossip, sit in among the intellectuals. Ask and you may be surprised at how much you can learn! 2. Sir Know-Em-All. A famed Psychic. If you can think of a person, Sir Know-Em-All can tell you where to go to meet them! 3. Professor Dunstan’s Lab and Residence. A legendary researcher of Legendary Pokémon, do you have reason to seek his counsel? 4. World Library. With the backing of Professor Dunstan himself, this library has all the information you could possibly seek… probably. 5. Isson Museum. Don’t feel like travelling to all the corners of the world? Don’t need to, the museum has gathered up the noteworthy things from all its corners! 6. Move Tutor Mansion. A gathering-spot for those talented in teaching Pokémon moves they wouldn’t normally learn.
Industrial Sector
There is no way this place can have screwed-up gravity and emotional influence without companies trying to use it for their own gains. The factories of Worldedge City are far below the Information District, down at water-level, where at the base of Mt. Edge countless machines tumble and toll for the continued success of man- and Pokémon-kind. Being below two other districts the Industrial District is naturally dark, even during the day, but countless lights shine it up and the workers do not mind one bit. They have their own marketplaces, their own little residences and they certainly earn enough to make their own lives when it comes to that. But, among the factories and warehouses are those that stand empty, and one might have to wonder what’s actually inside them sometimes.
Notable Places:
1. Factories. Produces everything from Pokédolls to furniture, and who-the-heck-knows. 2. Abandoned Factories. Produces everything from Grimers to street thugs, and who-the-heck-knows. 3. Warehouses. Storing items from factories, some more well-used than others. Some opens by keycards. 4. Request Center. A certain camp of individuals that can take your requests for Pokémon or items you want, and they might come back and provide them for you. Sounds easy, right? 5. Sketchy Entrances. … The heck are you doing down here? They hid these things down here for a REASON, normal people wouldn’t normally ever need to see them! 6. ???. Trigger a “random” event. Not sure why you’d be walking down here, but.
… Then there’s Mt. Edge, splitting the city in half, the ominous peaks having something unfriendly in their jagged shapes to deter any potential hiker wishing to take on its tunnels…
To reach the Northern Districts, Martin will need a teleport Abra or walk through the tunnels of Mt. Edge. But if he reads about them or teleports!
Residential Sector
On the absolute top of the northern districts, you’ll find the place in Worldedge City with the freshest air. While the building architecture still might require a raised eyebrow, the atmosphere is healthy and playful, many families making their life here on top of the Commercial and Entertainment districts, where they work. Schools and little parks for children to learn the ways of Pokémon exist, and there is nothing saying those older cannot use them too. The Little Cup stadium is here, allowing the children to watch and perhaps participate without straying too far from home. Yet, among these buildings live a few of the most noteworthy individuals in Isson. Like the rumored and powerful Crone, who has to be battled by a strong trainer every once in a while or she will stir up trouble, or like the empty mansion that supposedly belongs to the Champion…
Notable Places:
1. Practice Park. A little park in the residential sector where children can catch low-level Pokémon and train for the real thing. 2. Pokémon Day Care. For people to leave their Pokémon while they’re doing something else. Some people don’t like PCs, so~ 3. Little Cup. A small stadium for battling. Levels 15 and lower, only. 4. Champion Estate. The Champion supposedly lives in this mansion here. It looks abandoned. 5. Creator’s Apartment. You instinctively know where this place is somehow, despite nothing advertising it. It’s visually an ordinary apartment. The door is open. 6. House of the Crone. Signs say “We appreciate people challenging her to keep her from being bored, but only if you are confident in your strength.”
Commercial Sector
Squeezed in-between the Residential District and the Entertainment District lies the Commercial District. It’s a long, winding corridor of tight buildings with many bridges and storefronts, and it all leads up to the Worldedge Department Store, the biggest Pokémart in Isson. If you somehow cannot find what you’re looking for there, then you’re probably all out of luck. It isn’t all there is here, however. Among the corridors is the House of Trades, where people can sit at computers and request trades with all other people that have ever been there, as well as the Psychic Train that uses certain teleporting abilities to achieve transportation to a distant town. Or, if those don’t reach where you want, you can just call a Freecape Ferryman and s/he’ll fly you there, assuming you have the cash. Also here, lies the store where the infamous inventor Russel sells his products. Perhaps, if you’re lucky, the fool’s things actually work for you? No guarantees, though!
Notable Places:
1. Worldedge Department Store. Products from all over Isson gather, right here. The largest store of Isson. 2. Worldedge Trade Station. A place where people can come trade Pokémon and items with people from all over! 3. Pokémon Groomer. For a price, you can have some professionals treat your Pokémon like royalty~! 4. Psychic Train. Runs along spiritual tracks to lead somewhere else in the world. The trips are one-way only. 4.1. Justroad City/Gentlevale City/Witchpeak City. 500P 4.2. Bigfjord City/Freecape Town/Raremine Town. 1000P 4.3. Redcoast City/Rainrock City/Pureplain City. 2000P 5. Freecape Ferrymen Phone. A phone linked to call a Freecape Ferryman, who can Fly you somewhere in the world for a considerable price. 6. Food Stands. Hot dogs to ice creams. Pretty good. 7. Inventor Russel’s Store. Russel, crazy inventor. Who knows what he might have for sale? He’s also known to give random stuff or quests to trainers passing by, giving them cash as incentive.
Entertainment Sector
In the depths of Northern Worldedge City, common sense goes out the window. Given all the buildings on top, few actual lights come down here even during the day, but all the blazing lights in this unnatural city-scape more than make up for it. Plenty of the skyscrapers holding up the Commercial District above have some form of advertisement, and each open door opens a new possible way to spend money in these depths of entertainment, probably with some form of Pokémon logo. Down here lies the most famous and populated Game Corner on Isson, where thousands of P are being wasted every day, and houses for unofficial Contests or Battles for money and prices are sanctioned and bet upon for the enjoyment of viewers and participants. It truly feels like if one never got bored, one would probably never run out of things to do down here… assuming the wallet didn’t run dry, that is.
Notable Places:
1. Worldedge Game Corner. Only play with as much you’re willing to spend! 2. Countless restaurants, stores, cinemas, show-houses, amusement-parks, whatevs. You can waste the rest of your money here, on whatever you want! 3. PokéMania! Do battle for the enjoyment of the viewers, and have sudden strange rules applied to every battle! Fancy prices~ 4. Contest Clarity. Forget all ranks, here we do contests for the show, and the show alone! Oh, and for cash prices~ 5. Deep Dark Depths of Worldedge. This city feels like it goes on forever! How far does it go…? 6. A place you’re too young to visit…
Connected areas: Route 10. South of Worldedge. A farmland employing multiple psychic Pokémon from Mt. Edge to help with the crops. Route 13. West of Worldedge. A slightly disturbed route, which attracts electric Pokémon due to the proximity of the power plant. Mt. Edge. The mystical mountain at the heart of Worldedge’s unnatural existence. Few people actually cross its fabled tunnels, most just teleport past. Route 18. East of Worldedge. A calm stretch of land going from Worldedge to Witchpeak, part of the Allmass Cycling Circuit.
Dawkin and Amelia made their way onto the plains. A lack of Tauros made the first path easy. There were multiple times when Doduo or Ponyta dashed past, but they could be ignored. There were Bouffalants and Dodrios, but they could be avoided. As the woman had said, there were patches of grass that were on fire, but this was a plain with three families of fire-Pokémon, it couldn’t be that unexpected. They could stay clear of those. Knowing that Litleo’s would challenge them if they felt like it, they probably avoided those, too. For a while, it was going well. They left the Rapidash Delivery Service and the trainer battling Tauros behind, and kept on moving. A few Rapidash dashed by on a distance, and the two could realize they had riders. Evidently, the service before wasn’t one-way.
As they made their way past a couple Miltanks avoiding a Bouffalant, there was a Dodrio standing with three bored-looking heads in the distance. Wasn’t much to it from that, they could just readjust their heading to go in-between the Bouffalant and the Dodrio, avoiding both, hopefully. Or maybe they took the long way around, it doesn’t entirely matter for this scenario. One of the Dodrio heads looked in their direction when they appeared on a distance, but that was it. So, they moved on, and the Dodrio moved, running down a hill out of sight.
… Then it appeared in front of them. There was a line of fire that they had to avoid to the left, and there stood Dodrio again. They had to move around, following the advice the woman had given, but then the Dodrio ran and placed himself next to a Bouffalant, making the obstacle the one Bouffalant would have been twice as big at it otherwise would have been, making the detours the two had to take that much bigger. If they then walked around that, he’d run and place himself inconspicuously in the middle of nowhere… but upon getting closer it became immediately clear he was blocking a free path to get through a couple of patches of Fletchling territories.
It was like he knew he had a supposed “don’t go closer than this long to him” area, and he was relocating just to make life a pain for them. The Pokédex had given a note that they were somewhat smart, albeit only when all three heads were cooperating. Though two heads seemed to very much intentionally avoid looking at them, like playing it off as a coincidence, at least one of the heads sneered in amusement at them numerous times.
The area around them were still full of Pokémon. Miltanks were eating and didn’t care particularly. Two Pyroars were sitting on a hill a distance back-left, and was looking on, but they didn’t look terribly interested. They had a couple Litleos with them, but they were playing with each other and was not as attentive as the parents. Patches of Fletchlings around, a Bouffalant that was glaring at the Dodrio that had walked fairly close to his territory but ultimately not into it. Doduos and Ponytas were a bit of everywhere, as were flocks of flying noisy Starlys.
Anise probably got her own umbrella, because it’d be silly to go onto routes it always rains on without one. Still, the rain of course reminded her of her worries, so she was frowning most of the way, but that was fine… until Ralia started using the umbrella to splash water on her.
‘Hey!’ Anise made an objection while shielding herself with her own umbrella, before folding the umbrella… only to rapidly pop it open and splash the water on it back at Ralia, and by extension Claire. ‘There you go,’ Anise nodded with determination, the expression of someone who won’t take something without giving the same back. … Aaaand if Claire or Ralia gave any indication of immediate retaliation she’d take off fleeing for Route 4, where it’d stop raining. Anise is pretty physically fit, who of them might be the faster?
Anyways, after that.
Heading up the forest hill towards Mt. Strength. The mountain-range rises above, but after a small cliff the entrance can be found fairly close to the base. The arc of rock is carved-out, someone has put effort stylizing the entrance, which is wide enough that a truck could potentially drive through. With the stories of the wild caves of Mt. Strength going around, one could probably expect to be delving into caverns of absolute chaos and roughness. Yet as one descends into the cave and it opens up in its whole honesty, the ground beneath becomes… cobblestone.
Mt. Strength
The caverns of Mt. Strength open up into multiple corridors, dark depths branching in multiple directions. However, those expecting a typical rocky cave will be surprised. Something is immediately evident as one treads into Mt. Strength and that is that someone once lived here, long-term, and had buildings constructed out of the stones of the cavern. Remnants of whoever lived here is clear as day, as one walks on cobblestone and stairs, see remnant unlit lanterns and banners, old rock buildings standing around in the depths of the mountain. Arcs of stone remain, and here and there bridges remain, although one can question if you should trust them. An abandoned settlement in the mountain, left behind for unknown reasons… except, is it truly abandoned? There are signs of recent if unskilled renovation. Who’s maintaining them?
Why, the Pokémon, of course. There are Pokémon hard at work maintaining, reconstructing and living inside these supposed ruins. At some point humans no longer needed the fortifications of the cave, went outside, and the Pokémon took it over. They live here, creating their own society of strong Fighting-types with their own hierarchy with the strongest at the top, you’ve wandered into a whole different world, here, a world of brawling fighters, of dojos and rock-breaking competitions, of king-of-the-hill matches, thrones held my mountains of muscle, of Pokémon reconstructing the old buildings here before they inevitably are torn down again in another destructive scuttle. Here the Fighting-Pokémon are king, and humans are the guests. Will you earn their respect, or face their might?
So, with the exception of the building straight ahead, there were multiple tunnels around, going in different directions. One could move in the rough directions of down-left, straight forward and up-right. Forward would lead through the settlement, in which… there’s already a bit of a brawl going on. A Timburr and a Mienfoo was squaring of in the square, while there others of their kinds as well as Machops and Meditites watching. Based on the amount of damaged Pokémon were lying about, clearly they had some form of arrangement where two who wanted to fight stepped forth and then they had a match. It would be simple to join in.
There was actually two humans sitting on a long rock watching, a youngster and a hiker.
Other Pokémon were simply training themselves by lifting or breaking rocks or arms-wrestling or similar. Others, primarily Meditites, were meditating or resting.
Pokédex Entry #66 – Machop, the Superpower Pokémon. A Machop is built up by a special muscle, which despite its size makes it stronger than 100 humans and will never tire no matter how much it strains itself. This combined with their general availability makes them a common choice for helping humans with manual labours.
Pokédex Entry #307 – Meditite, the Meditate Pokémon. It is found deep in mountains, meditating for hours on end and surviving on a berry a day. It trains its spirit, and by heightening its inner strength it somehow achieved levitation. It also enjoys daily yoga workouts.
Pokédex Entry #532 – Timburr, the Muscular Pokémon. They make habits of training themselves by carrying square logs and wielding them as weapons. They’re know to appear at construction sites and helping with the carrying. They pick bigger logs as they get stronger, and when they can handle any log without problem, they’re close to evolving.
Pokédex Entry #619 – Mienfoo, the Martial Arts Pokémon. While not very strong, it’s very fast and has mastered the art of elegant combos using claws to increase damage. As it concentrates, it grows in speed and efficiency. They have a tendency to start acting like their trainer’s personal bodyguards.
A Machoke stood, arms crossed, like overlooking the conflict, though he looked kinda bored.
Pokédex Entry #67 – Machoke, the Superpower Pokémon. It is known to help people with extremely tough labour in order to toughen up. It’s muscles is as hard as steel, yet it still needs to wear a belt which holds back its energy in order to not tear itself apart with its own strength. It can pick up a truck with one hand, and will never get tired.
‘I have something to admit. This is my first time here without being guided slash guarded myself. I got Mienfoo and Meditite from in here,’ Anise said. ‘Going upwards leads to places where the average level skyrockets. The strongest of Mt. Strength seek upwards, meaning the runts are left down here, but they’re always plotting their ascent.’ She nodded towards the fighting going on among the buildings in the cave.
‘Fighting-rings like that one over there exists all over Mt. Strength. But, well. I had a specific place in mind I wanted to show you, and it’s further down. Don’t worry, I’m not leading you to the baby-area or something like that, but, well, c’mon.’ So Anise said, pointing right and wanting to guide Claire down a couple of stairs descending into a deeper area of the caverns.
But Claire could totally ignore Anise if she wanted to.

Uncommon: #67 Machoke (more common the higher you go)
Rare:
Claire followed Anise, who was heading down some stairs into a darker tunnel. The tunnel split numerous times, sometimes flat and sometimes stairs. There were holes in the walls, leading into rooms and remnants of doors and other things implied that once upon a time. Occasionally, one or several of the earlier mentioned four most common Pokémon of Mt. Strength came running past or simply hanging out in the rooms. It really appeared to have their own little society in here.
Eventually, after a number of turns Claire wouldn’t have been able to guess they’d be making, they arrived where Anise intended on bringing them.
Mountain Castle
A castle, designed underground to be potentially utterly impossible to penetrate at an age where protection was more important to humans than anything else. Now abandoned, it was left for Pokémon to inhabit. And… so they do, and they maintain it, too! Unlike in the image, The castle and buildings inside the walls show weight of years pressing down on it, yet it seems that Fighting-type Pokémon have worked hard to keep it structurally intact, primarily those of the Timburr evolution line who excel in building. Because, what announces “I am the strongest Pokémon in Mt. Strength!” more than owning a literal castle!?
Going down the stairs they arrived at the bridge leading over to the underground castle.
‘Pretty impressive, right? In the upper levels lives a more varied bunch of Fighting-Pokémon who might be eager to-’
Anise abruptly stopped talking, blinking forward. So, there were Pokémon standing guard, mimicking the human civilization that had lived here in the past… except they were all fainted and burned like a fire-storm had blown past. All around the entrance inside, by buildings and street-corners, lay fainted Fighting Pokémon, scorched with burn-marks. Further inside, still on the first level, a flash of fire suddenly shone from between the streets, accompanied by hot wind.
‘... What the…’ Anise frowned, and dashed forward through the entrance, running past numerous fainted Pokémon. Assuming Claire followed, they eventually found themselves behind two trainers who were commanding a side on a battlefield in the corridors of the mountain palace.
‘FIRE! FIRE! GET ALL THE EXPERIENCE!’ So called a girl with long brown hair with two braids, a red-green dress, hands in the air and a shovel held up pointing forward like a militant commander. Her expression and tone of voice was both of young, joyful bliss.
‘…’ Beside her stood a long-haired girl in rather casual clothes, her displeased expression looking like she was contemplating either her current actions or her entire existence.
Claire might recognize these two. They’re Maple and Ellyn, two of Jacques’ hopefuls that showed up at Kalmia’s lab.
‘Growly, keep Roaring! Maggy, Flary, Teppy, KEEP FIRING!’ Maple called out, looking like the happiest girl alive. As commanded, her Pokémon went forth and Embered at her command, except for a Growlithe that sat behind the rest and continuously Roared.
Pokédex Entry #240 – Magby, the Live Coal Pokémon. Its known to inhabit volcanic craters, and its body-temperature is around 600 degrees celsius. When it breaths, hot embers dribble out its mouth and nostrils. Its health can be distinguished by how yellow its flames are, the more the better.
Pokédex Entry #136 – Flareon, the Flame Pokémon. An Eevee evolved by a Fire Stone. A flame sac evolved into its body. Its average body-temperature is around 1400 degrees Fahrenheit, but when it blows out fire it can reach 3000. Constantly heating its surroundings, it has been used for warming houses during winter. Rare to see in nature.
Pokédex Entry #58 – Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Known to be brave and loyal to it’s trainer, but will bark threateningly at anyone entering its territory. It has superb sense of smell and will never forget a smell once it has picked up on it. Through smell, it can sense the emotions of others.
Pokédex Entry #498 – Tepig, the Fire Pig Pokémon. A surprisingly nimble Pokémon, it dodges attacks and shoot fireballs back at the same time. It loves to eat roasted berries, but sometimes gets too excited and burns them to a crisp. It has a pretty good nose that it seeks out berries with, but also breaths fire through said nose.
‘Ueh… Bird, shade. Sheep, shock. Tree, rock. Thing, fire.’ Ellyn commanded in a restrained tone, and the Pokémon in front of her acted out against their opponents with Night Shade, Thundershock, Rock Throw and Ember.
Pokédex Entry #177 – Natu, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. While its wings cannot yet fly, it is very good at jumping up trees or from branch to branch with small flaps to help out. It usually forages for food on the ground. Its eyes are usually staring at something, and if that something moves, Natu flees.
Pokédex Entry #179 – Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. It rubs together its coat of wool to generate static electricity that is stored in its fleece, which can more than double in size with enough electricity. This is how it keeps warm, so it discharges the electricity come summer when it’s not needed. The bulb on its tail grows more brightly the more electricity is stored.
Pokédex Entry #438 – Bonsly, the Bonsai Pokémon. It prefers arid environments. If it gets excess water, it leaks out the water through its eyes, making it look like it’s constantly crying, which also serves to make enemies less willing to attack it. It is a fairly good mimic and are often mistaken for real bonsai trees. Somehow.
Pokédex Entry #155 – Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokémon. A naturally timid Pokémon, it is commonly seen crawled up into a ball. Should it be startled or surprised, flames sprout out of its back for defense. Famously, the flames are the most fierce when it is angry. While rare, it can be found living in grasslands.
They were fighting against a collected army of Machop, Meditite, Timburr and Mienfoo, with the occasional Tyrogue and Riolu in their midst. Now, the eight Pokémon of the trainers would have been overwhelmed by the sheer number of Fighting-types… but as soon as the Fighting-types got anywhere close to close-combat Growly the Growlithe used Roar, sending them scampering, while all other Pokémon continued their mostly-fire projectiles, fainting panicking Fighting-types left and right without even needing to get into combat while a new batch of Fighting-types tried to close the distance to fight. Every so often a Meditite was trying to get off a Confusion, but the Flareon seemed to be on Meditite-duty and specifically blew fireballs at the Meditites attempting just that.
‘Keep gaining those levels, Fire-Pokémon! After this, we’re taking on the Grass-type Gym! Hahahahahaha…!’ Maple looked genuinely happy as they were continuing to burn out an innumerable amount of the castle inhabitants with this potentially unfair tactics.
Ellyn, more attentive than her laughing ally, turned her head as Anise came close enough to see, giving her (and Claire if she was also there) a displeasured stare that stopped Anise short, eyes not leaving them. Now, it should be noted, Pokémon Trainers train against wild Pokémon all the time, this isn’t necessarily anything notable… That said, Claire may interpret it however she wish.
Anise frowned, seeing them conduct this form of attack on this castle. She went quiet, seemingly considering something while eyeing the Pokémon of the two, and glancing up the castle occasionally. If Claire was really attentive, she could see several larger shapes standing as tiny specks on the walls of a higher level, gazing down at the battle from far away. Does Claire do anything?
‘I-inkay-!’ The flying squid got a faceful of Ember as Chic shot at it, the revolving Pokémon spinning around a couple of times from the impact, but didn’t fall. However, in response, Inkay turned and stared directly at Chic, before vanishing.
A short moment later, a dark projectile flew through the air and impacted Chic, and she could feel that somehow her own strength was being used to strike at her, as Foul Play does. Her attack’s higher than her own defense, plus the dark projectile hit REALLY hard, around two-thirds of her health was taken from that attack alone. However, after that hit, Inkay floated right in front of Chic blinking a little in surprise. Like Inkay itself was confused that after it had used itself as a projectile it was now this close to its opponent. Chic Scratched.
‘Kaaaaay-!’ Inkay shouted out again, spinning laterally from the scratch, and was now considerably damaged. It was roughly the same level as Chic, so now they both were around two-thirds damaged. Foul Play just did way more damage than Ember or Scratch separately. Though, with this, Inkay looked like it was preparing for another Foul Play…
Erika throws a Pokéball! Inkay blinks as it's hit by the ball, vanishing into it and the ball drops down onto the frozen floor.
It shakes once. It shakes twice...
CRASH!
‘KAY!’ Inkay shouts escaping the Pokéball, spinning around a couple of times and setting up Reflect. Not that Reflect would help against another Pokéball, but it does it anyway.
