Canon-OC pairings in 1x1 which totally disrespect the source material! Namely the canon character's personality and the fact that he's not even interested in romance at all, much less with your Mary Sue.

I wish I could mention which character it is without throwing the guilty roleplayer under the bus (this apparently is the only person on the planet with too little self-respect to realize it's a bad idea), but trust me, this shit is fucking egregious to any self-respecting fan of the video game series in question. I wanted to laugh, or to cry out in indignation for the artists who crafted the games' story, but instead I had to just sit there and let this vaguely dreadful ennui flush over me with my hands at my cheeks, jaw gaping wide and tongue struck dumb, simply staring at the screen as if to wonder whether this person really had the shameless irreverence to post this back-alley Tijuana abortion on the internet for all to see.

I'll give you an example: if you introduce yourself to newcomers as "Mienk Kereskedő," they will look at you like you're crazy and either shorten it down to "Mink," or come up with something totally new.

And that's fine if your character really tries to introduce himself that way (hey, it's up to him), but it won't be terribly practical. ;)

@The Spectre All right, so here's what I've got right now.

The Good

• It hadn't occurred to me that there might be people trying to escape the Zone, but needing "professional" help to do it; since, after all, they will be treated by the cordons as contaminated, and criminal. This is very clever! He's like a reverse-smuggler and I like that aspect a lot.
• You've raised a lot of questions in a good way. I assume you're prepared to explain where he is gathering the supplies he gives out to the needy, especially in a manner which does not clash with his personality. (Since I assume he's not willing to steal to acquire these goods.) Saving that for the IC instead of laying it all out here is smart.
• Good choice in guns! It will not make sense for a significant percentage of weapons (or characters, for that matter) to be from the Americas, since shipping weapons across an ocean is difficult enough, not to mention the Zone's borders.
• Cool photos! One of my roleplaying pet peeves is when the entire cast of "ordinary" people is twenty supermodels and actresses from various The CW programs. He looks like a normal bloke and his "armor" makes sense; it even has an interesting ethnic flair about it!

Improvements Needed

• I didn't specify this so it's not your fault, but it hasn't been thirty years since the war ended. I'm thinking between 5 and 15 years. Being born in the Zone is impossible (at least at age 34).
• If English is not your first language then don't worry about this, but there are some minute grammatical errors sprinkled throughout the profile.
• Going back to the nickname stuff, English will be the common language spoken by Europeans, in addition to their native tongues. So if they name you after a Hungarian drink, expect it to be mispronounced, shortened, and otherwise totally butchered. My character is Scottish and his booze-related nickname, "Buckie" (Buckfast), is much easier to remember.

And everything I didn't mention is fine, so your profile definitely has more good than bad. There are very minor things to fix.

Just FYI, the three nickname categories I gave in the CS template were more suggestions than a necessary rule. He can be called whatever you want, with as many or few names as you want. Even none if that's your wish.

And yes, this is one setting where people can insist upon nicknames for themselves, since half the stalker population were criminals before they entered the Zone, and the other half became criminals when they entered it. Anonymity will be important to many people. So any variety of thieves'-cant that you can think of is totally encouraged here.

Also use whatever color you want, if #CC5252 is ugly in your opinion.

I'll give this a proper review tomorrow but just off a perfunctory glimpse, these are two things you can alter, just in case you thought I would be pedantic over the formatting here. :)

Some ideas and thoughts about RPG - as a community, as a writing forum, but mostly just in general

I joined the site in 2009-ish and I drifted away for a super-long hiatus around 2012. It existed then.

Might've been removed with "Guildfall," which I was not around to witness personally.
