4 months into this hole 'being a responsible adult thing' and I've come to a conclusion: It sucks and I want to go back to the days where I didn't have to plan out my game time.

Grimm continued to draw for a couple minutes before he responded, having some trouble with drawing the markings on her arms. He also was taking the time to observe and go over the information he was receiving as he stared, his gaze unwavering and intense. "Unease, pride, returning feelings of another emotion, too faint to tell, could be fear, but could also be annoyance." He muttered to himself again, his voice a whisper that could hardly be heard by the Dryad unless she strained her ears. Grimm leaned forward on the table, switching the apple in one hand for the pen in the other with a fluid and graceful toss, catching both of them easily and taking another bite out of the apple before he finally spoke.

"Well, besides the obvious ones, I'm not treating you any differently than I treat anyone else. If I see something I take interest, I draw it, and one of my favorite things to do is something that is only possible because I'm a Reaper. I stare into the souls of everyone I meet, and while all are interesting in their own way, some pull at my mind and set it ablaze with inspiration, like that of the Skylark over there." Grimm indicated to Carmen with the pencil in his hand, and using he break in the conversation to sneak in another bite of his apple. "But then their are ones like your's, where I feel something at the fringe of my thoughts, but mere observation isn't enough to gain a clear picture. I have to approach them, investigate them, see what I can gather that might set the gears in motion, what will fuel the fires of my creative process. And you have given me a bit to chew on, but I must ask you a question now. Why did you stay, as I can tell from your soul that you aren't interested in anything going on here, and even more so that you're scared by me, my presence instills you with unease. Does Death disturb you, Dryad, does the thought of dying alone, with no one to call your own frighten you? If so, then why do you continue push people away?"

Grimm's eyes had taken on an intense glow now, finding in her soul latent traces of loneliness, regret, sadness, and beyond that, eh notice a new detail of her soul that he had missed before. The ground which the bush was planted upon was vastly different from the ground outside of the wall of thorns, ground that would change as time past, over and over in a cycle but never matching what the roses stood on. Grimm had a lot of practice decoding the appearance of souls, which changed with person did and grew with every life-changing event in their life, so it only took a few moments for him to begin connecting the dots to from a picture of the person who stood before him. It was still rather vague, but it was something. "Something happened, something that forced you to leave your home, where ever that maybe. You miss it, want to go back, the thorns that keep others out because you want to forget the pain, but that same pain keeps you trapped because you hold on to the memory too tightly to ever let it go." Grim leaned his head back, going over everything he talked about, from the start of this conversation to the end of it before finally returning to the initial point of her question. "You ask how I am different, but I don't really believe I am, but are you any different yourself with the way you try to solve your problems, hoping that if you don't stop moving, the pain will go away. I may be young, but I know frm experience, both my own and that of souls I've gathered, that pain like yours doesn't just go away. It never just goes away."

((OOC:I'm not entirely sure how well I did this thing with the soul, and having Grimm piece the dots to form that vague background or whatever. I feel like I might've meta gamed a little, despite my efforts to avoid it. If you have a problem with it, I could change somethings, though I don't think it'll have the same effect.
holy shit those look great

NK is the Master when it comes to those kinds of things, hence why everybody tends t shoot him request, which he graciously accepts for no reward other than our gratitude. He is truly an awesome guy.

Edit: Almost done with my post, it should be up soon.
Akira

Akira was barely able to dodge the infernal stakes the vampire had summoned, canceling Red Devil as he did so as he stared at the his opponent. When Damian threw Sunye at him, Akira quickly sent out a few blood tendrils to catch her, than deposited her behind him as the vampire lord attacked, activating Red Devil again as he rushed forward to meet him. It only took a few seconds of engagement before Akira realized that he was completely outclassed by his enemy, especially with his main way of fighting effectively negated. Damien was just too fast for him, and while Red Devil kept him from being left in the dust, it didn't give him enough of a boost so that he could actually land a blow on the vampire; who in turn was able to rain down blow for blow upon Akira, whose only means of defense was to evade what ever was being sent his way.

This resulted in mostly glancing blows, but they still packed enough power to through Akira off balance, enabling the creature to score a few direct hits that would send him reeling, the only reason he was still standing was because he had his healing ability working over time on his insides, but that was also tiring him faster; this battle continuing to seem more and more hopless. After a certain point, Akira was running on sheer willpower, he couldn't just give up now. He had people counting on him right now, people who need him and Sunye to stop this asshole. Even now he could hear their struggle in the background, though he didn't dare take his eyes off his opponent to check on the rest of his team's condition, knowing if he did it'd be his end. If only I could get him to hold still. . . The thought brought up an idea, one that was risky and could also make his position even worse, but also might be able to let him score a shot on he bastard at least.

Akira waited for the exact right moment, when Damien came with a haymaker punch from the left to his head, obviously expecting him to try and evade the blow as he had been doing. However, Akira lifted up his arm, the red marks on it intensifying a split second before impact was made, a signal that he was hardening the veins in that arm. Even with that protection, the amount of pain that Akira was feeling from the limb told him that it was either fractured or broken, but that didn't matter for what he was going to do. Hopefully before Damien could reacted, Akira manipulated the blood in his arm so that it would grip Damian's arm in an iron grip, fingers digging into the flesh like claws. He would then focus all of his strength into his right arm and, accompanied by a roar of pain, anger, and frustration launch an all-out, Red Devil assisted punch straight towards Damian's face, hoping beyond hope that it would be able to do something against him.

After the attack, he would release Damian and attempt to back away from the vampire, his left arm hanging limply by his side and turning an unhealthy shade of purple. He had held the blood vessels for too long, and he could already feel his heartbeat accelerating to dangerous levels. He had maybe 5 more minutes of Red Devil bursts in him, if he was lucky, before it would end up sending him into cardiac arrest. "Do it now!!! Get him!!" He'd yelled to Sunye, regardless of if he escaped or not, cause he knew that this would be their best chance at stopping this creature.

Dylan

Dylan eyes turn to Justeaze, then back to the girl's corpse, his fist clenched so tight that his knuckles were white before he closed his eyes and began to slow his breathing. He didn't focus on his surroundings, but on himself, entering a form of meditation on his inner self. He could feel the anger leave his body with each breath, and before long, he had mostly calmed down, though his fist still remained clenched as he rose up from beside the girl's body.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll keep my cool Justy, but if I ever found out who did this, I'll be sure to break just about every bone he's got . . . or at the very least fracture them."

@Suku
While everyone else was engaged in intense combat, Ian had been watching with an equally intense craving for some popcorn. When Lorenzo shut everything down, Ian got up and opened the cockpit door manually, before walking over to where Sigma had placed Atty after she was declared to be disqualified. It was a bit of a hike, but he eventually made it over to the downed Framewerk. He couldn't help but feel a bit of pride in having been able to take at least one of them down, despite the overwhelming odd's against him. Thinking back, he probably should've cancelled the attack when his Kinetic thruster had gotten hit, but oh well, that's why you had these kinds of exercises. Better to make a mistake here and learn from it, then make a mistake on the field, and die.

Shaking such morbid thoughts from his head, he continued his leisurely pace until he made it over to where he thought the cockpit to be, raising his fist to knock on the outside of it.

"Oi Serah, looks like the test over and what not, so I was wondering if we could have a chat until they come to pick us up, get to know my comrade a little better. Let's start with something simple, what's your favorite color? Mines Black, because it goes with everything, without fail."

@Ammokkx
I am cool with the timeskip Idea
I was afraid that Ian would get a minus for how badly he got thrashed, glad that isn't the case.
@Letter Bee Unfortunately no, though I fail to see how I'd be any use in that. I don't have any politically-inclined or powerful characters
@Demon ShinobiXavier should be coming into the guild hall on Hana's Petal-stretcher, so that's a thing
@Tenish the MightyMy bad, though to be fair, he already was carrying kid n my last post. It was what came to mind at the time of the edit. YOu have my sincerest apologizes, oh mighty Tenish one, and I ask you to spare all of my descendent your terrible curse. That is, of course, assuming I have any . . . you know what, forget that last part, that curse isn't going to get as much mileage in the long run.
@IceHeartI like this idea of corruption, as for how to lessen it, acupuncture and medicine sounds good. The medicine should be more effective and, as a consequence, somewhat more difficult to come by, so maybe start off with all of the player having a set amount at the time this begins, and having to get more when they run low or such. There can also be magical spells and priest for such cleansing duties, and certain ingredients as well. As for making a character, that'd be good to, an NPC that can maybe help the more far-gone cases, where the other treatments would begin to become less effective.

Now then, how are Demon Blades distributed and their wielders treated by the people and used by the nobles and what not. If it's a heritage system, then could one house have multiple. Maybe they are given a symbols of status and what not. Also, what do these Demon blade wielders generally do, are they soldiers in war, valuable bodyguards, assassins, etc, etc.
