I haven't yet, but I guess I will at some point today.
There's a difference between mandating that a woman must direct a woman-centric movie, and when a woman happens to be chosen to direct a woman-centric movie because of their merits and is subsequently celebrated for it. You are arguing against the former, Andy, and you are right - affirmative action just for the sake of diversity instead of selecting and awarding those best suited for the role, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, etc, is a bad idea. But I believe Henry is discussing the latter. I don't see him reducing the discussion down to collectives, I see you two debating two entirely different aspects of the industry.
This ain't an argument I'm gonna touch with a ten foot super pole.

Speaking of ten foot super poles...
I don't know where I was going with that.
Skin tone is definitely not the defining feature or trait of Manchester Black. So long as the actor fits the role and character, and it's done well, there's nothing wrong with not looking 100% like the original comic art. I think everyone will live.

I'd love to reboot the nerves in my neck. Sadly, that is not a thing and you made a dumb joke.

Technically, Neural Reset Therapy is a thing.
Also, I'm tempted to give Sep's post a like out of spite. But I won't, because I'm lazy.

Okay so the depraved ones want to see.

You're too innocent for them, anyway.
because BvS might be the worst thing I've ever seen

I have a few films that might change your mind...

There's a film you need to see, or probably see again, that might help reignite your heart. It recently celebrated its ten year anniversary and I remember seeing it back in 2008 and being blown away by how masterfully it had been made. It was snubbed when it wasn't nominated for Best Picture that year, but it deserved it every single way. A testament to the craft of film making. I, of course, am talking about Mamma Mia!

I've never actually seen the 'new' Mamma Mia!. One day.
Fuck it. This isn't going anywhere, and is putting me in a shitty mood, so I'm bowing out of this argument.

I genuinely didn't realize we were having an argument. I thought this was a civil discussion, and I never dismissed your viewpoints.
I'm sorry it put you in a poor mood, though.

It's okay. One day you'll learn to love again.

If you only knew, my friend.
