Mike was shocked to see Violet's Eeevee caught in the very grasp that his poor Venonat had been in only minutes earlier. Mike made a quick decision and hoped that he had a good grasp on what Claws was capable of.

"Claws! Quick! Scratch at the Pinser's eyes! Get it's attention off of Eevee!" Mike called out as Claws dashed forward, eyes locked fearlessly with that of the Pinser's, hoping to Arcues that he would be able to get out of there before the Pinser could get a grasp on him instead.

Mike was saddened as Venonat was defeated so easily but in retrospect, maybe Mike should have trained a little more before trying to take on the mighty Pokemon Pinser. As the bug Pokemon charged at him Mike began running in the other direction though never taking his eyes off of the Pokemon. As the Pinser turned its attention to Violet and her Eevee Mike's heart sank. If he, a legendary Pokemon soon-to-be champion couldn't take on the Pinser then what chance did Violet have? Mike's eyes narrowed in determination as he sent out Claws and crouched down beside home to whisper.

"While he's distracted, try to sneak up on him and get between him and the river. Use taunt and see if you can get him to charge into the river!" Mike whispered to his Meowth as it nodded, eyes full of determination.
