Dice would be fantastic in the Arena, unfortunately I don't gave the Lancrist system saved in which we used Dice before.

Although not essential would it be possible to get a sort of Player centric interest check? Where GMs who need extra players can go to actively recruit people if they need more players/have a recruit only RP?

I feel like you should be able to use the RP tag system for this.

I have a small group, Advanced, fandom, sci-fi RP...and it's recruited okay, I just need a few more people. It'd be very nice to go to a Members page, select relevant tags, and get a list of RPers that have set those tags (among others) as what they're looking for. Who knows, maybe even sort it by last Active, # of RP section posts in the last month, etc.

- Add notification support to subscription system.
- Add email notification opt-in.
- Add album/image management system. I really want people to be able to upload their images to the Guild instead of depending on 3rd party hotlinking. It sucks to visit old threads to find out all of the hotlinked images are lost. Ideally every image on the Guild will be served by the Guild's servers.
- Implement visitor messages
- Implement a basic chat system. This would be a fun feature for me for when I need a break from hard problems, and it's a precursor to the Etherpad system since it gives me more experience with websocket tech. It's also just a good way to build friendships, meet people, and I've never tried catering to any chat-based roleplaying subcommunities before.
- Unread post tracker. Lots of stuff can be built on top of such a system. Even small conveniences like "Go to last unread post".
- Better pagination. Better navigation tools in general.
- Finish mobile/tablet support. It hurts me that portable-device users have to zoom scroll zoom scroll, but man this is a hard feature. I chip away at it a lil more every week.
- Build the search+filter system for roleplays and checks including the ability to sort by any parameter (like show the newest roleplays first).
- Mature/adult opt-in system that helps these players find each other.
- Post/PM autosave/draft system. The UX right now when you get a validation error upon post/topic creation is absolutely horrendous.
- Allow people to delete/leave/archive private convos.
- Dice system.

Damn, I'm just going to stop there.

Most of my time actually goes into the small tweaks/improvements. They just take up a lot more time than I ever expect. Little things always need to be fixed, like how this doesn't dismiss when you click outside of it:

The PM bit would be nice. As would search+filter, but not nearly as high demand as the PM system upgrades I'd imagine.

Pagination, however, is the only other one that screams "USEFUL FOR RP!" to me.

Absent from the Dance, none but the Redwynes of the Arbor can say for certain which path they would have chosen had they bestirred themselves from the golden island. In the twilight of the conflict came the news to the rest of Westeros that Myles Redwyne, Lord of the Arbor, had passed from natural causes. More shocking news followed that Lord Myles' heir, Ser Reynard, had passed the Lordship to his uncle, the well known sailor and trader and explorer, Joss of the Jade Sea.

There is talk of the Redwyne Fleet preparing to set sail from Ryamsport, though where the two hundred-plus fleet intends to sail is an unknown: many claim that Joss intends to return to Sothoryos and map it's never-ending shores, others that Joss intends to smash the remnants of pirate lords in the Stepstones, others still that King's Landing is the only possible destination.

No matter the rumors, soon the new Lord of the Arbor will make his destination known.

Lord Joss Redwyne, Lord of the Arbor | One and Forty years of age

Personality

Joss Redwyne is a loyal brother, a loving uncle, and a learned man. He is also a sailor, smuggler, and pirate. In the deep blue waters of the seas beyond Westeros, a ship and it's crew must become what it has to to survive so that it may one day return home. These are lessons Joss Redwyne has taken to heart; though he believes himself a good man with a good heart, there is simply nothing he will not do in order to ensure his survival and the survival of his family.

In his youth, Joss was something of a tastemaker; his flashy style, his preference for certain vintages and subtle flavors, even his tastes in mummer's shows from Braavos and the complex Harp and High Harp arrangements found in Mantarys. The older he has grown, and the farther he has travelled, the more simplistic his tastes tend to be. So while few rival him in picking up the subtle flavors of wines, fewer still will even know it a skill he retains. Just the same with his harp playing and singing, as well with his style: as these days he can usually be seen in the simple leather garb of a sea captain, and very rarely anything more luxurious.

Joss has a growing fear of dying childless since becoming Lord of the Arbor, and so is actively searching for a wife.

Biography

The current Lord of the Arbor is the third son of Lord Perceon of House Redwyne and Lady Zelda of House Florent. As the third, and by far youngest, of Lord Perceon's three sons Joss was able to decide his own fate for much of his life in ways his siblings simply could not. Though he was fond of learning, Joss was fonder still of House Redwyne's martial heritage. While a highly skilled swordsman, Joss Redwyne is no Knight: that skill set belonged to the eldest Myles. But where Myles outshined them all on land, at sea was where Joss Redwyne stood out. And it was there, in the Redwyne Fleets, that Joss would spend the vast majority of his younger years.

Upon his six and ten nameday, Joss informed Lord Perceon he wished to become an Acolyte of the Citadel at Oldtown to learn of all the places a ship might take him, and what he might see. Though Joss had proven a promising young sailor, Lord Perceon permitted it. When he left the Citadel and returned home just years later without a chain, his Lord father welcomed him and put him to work as a ship's captain and steward of Starfish Harbor. Shortly after, Myles welcomed two twin boys into Creation.

Whereas Myles was the heir, and Roland full of Faith and charitable works, Joss toiled to bring prosperity back to Starfish Harbor; piracy and the mechanisms of the Three Daughters threatened to minimize the trading footholds the Redwynes had made in the past century, while the small Noble house overlords of Starfish Harbor had bled the town's wealth in pursuit of the favor of some upjumped Myrish whore before taking flight across the Narrow Sea to avoid the punishment of Lord Perceon. While part of the problem at Starfish Harbor was quickly fixed, the piracy and the Three Daughters was not so quickly fixed. At a war council held in Ryamsport, it is decided that Joss is to treat with the Princes of the Summer Isles, and Keyholders of Braavos, to discuss possible solutions to the problem.

The result is a secretive alliance with the Princes of the Summer Isles, and Joss' first trip to a Summer Islander's Temple of Love. Patroling the waters between them in coordination presents the corsair Kings of the Stepstones with a combined force that is much harder to wear down with constant raiding. This, in combination with the fall of the Three Daughters' Kingdom, finally solves Starfish Harbor of it's other problem. But while Joss has brought the harbor town back to prosperity, he had discovered a deep love of traveling so far, and soon after returning to the Arbor requests a fleet of thirty-five ships with the intent to reach Qarth upon the Jade Sea.

Though it would take far longer than expected, Joss Redwyne would return to the Arbor--even if he would return with only twelve ships out of the thirty-five originally embarked with. But the ships that did return, returned with their holds filled with exotic treasures that would fetch more than fair prices in Westerosi markets. But the Arbor he had returned to was much different than the one Joss Redwyne had left: Lord Perceon was dead, as was Joss' Lady mother. Myles had brought two more children into being; while one of his twins died after a tragic fire at their small stone house on the western edge of the Arbor. Roland Redwyne was now, simply, Septon Roland and living in Oldtown.

Shortly before the Dance began in earnest, Myles and Joss had discussed their intention to declare for the Blacks. Both knew it would be dangerous siding against the Hightowers, and it may even put Lady Leonette in an uncomfortable position, but both felt it important to check the "mad ambitions" of House Hightower. Plans that would be swept away when an illness put Lord Myles is grave harm. Though he would escape death, Myles would become a faint ghost of his former glory. Joss would send for an old friend, an Archmaester from the Citadel specializing in the Silver link, but all the friend could do was give Joss bad news. Instead of leave for war, Joss Redwyne stays home to care for his eldest brother, and his brother's family--and to ensure the safety of the Arbor.

It would cost House Redwyne in honor and pride, but Joss takes comfort in knowing he was there for Myles' passing, unlike the passing of Lord Perceon. The Lordship of the Arbor falls to the surviving twin, but the young man, Ser Reynard Redwyne, shocks the Arbor by declining his birthright. Some say the man is ill, others that he is a drunk. Whatever the reason, Reynard Redwyne let pass the lordship of the Arbor to his uncle, and Lord Perceon's youngest, Joss.

So the unlikely heir, the youngest son, takes command of the Arbor and it's power...looking to finally take part in the affairs of the Realm that he could not while Myles lay dying.

If it wouldn't potentially cause a lot of mayhem, I would be cool to use trophies at the end of RPs. Some like, MVP, Most Awesome Moment, Best Character. Things like that. Up to the GM of course.

Or if we had yearly Guild Awards.
