Real Name: Ziska Sieghild
(That means Battle Victory, to you filthy uncultured swine.)
Superhero Alias: N/A
Gender:Female
Age: 17
Appearance: Ziska stands at approximately 168.5cm (that is 5'6", you insufferable American louts.) She has long, raven black hair with extremely pale skin, and her visible eye is a red color. Most would find her to be quite attractive.
On her right eye, is an eye patch. She tells most people she lost the eye in an accident. Not a total, lie, but not the whole truth either. If she were to remove the eyepatch, they would find that she still has a quite functional eye...except, the sclera is pitch black in color and the Iris is a frosty blue that glows slightly in the dark. This eye, is the source of her abilities.
She normally wears a black tight-fitting military uniform with black tights and combat boots. She wears white gloves, as she obviously can't dirty her own hands, can she? She doesn't hide the fact she has a rather large distaste for non-supers or those that rely on trinkets and other objects for their abilities.
Some might find her fashion sense a little...eccentric, but coming from a military family with a long history of service, its standard attire for her. The cap, is purely ceremonial and she only wears it for appearances.
Power Set:Ziskas abilities, at first would seem to be a form of a highly trained
Attack Prediction. She can, in fact, sense any sort of danger in the immediate area to herself, and if physically possible for her, she can flawlessly counter any physical attack, or dodge any non-physical attack as long as there is a slimmest chance for her to.
This power is not absolute, however. The power can only work on attacks she can actually see, or physically stop or dodge. If she is physically unable to dodge/counter/attack, then the power can only minimize the damage at best, or at worse not work at all. Attacks from behind, are also effective since she has no defensive powers that could activate automatically. Surprise attacks are also effective.
In reality, this is just a constant side effect of her actual ability...which she tries, for the most part not to let the rest of the student body know about. She never uses her actual ability in public unless absolutely necessary.
Fear ManipulationNow, whether this is the actual eye of the ancient Greek God of Terror/Battle is a mystery shrouded in an enigma and wrapped in a paradox. There is nothing in the old texts about Deimos being able to control fear, however the eye lets her do just that. All that is really known about this powerful artifact, is that once the user acquires it, it is forever bound to them and grants them the ability of the ancient god.
The eye gives her two abilities. The passive ability she calls her 'Battle Sense', which is explained above and the ability to control and sense fear on some level.
The former ability, she has mastered just about as well as she can in her current state. The latter...well, she doesn't like using it for multiple reasons that will be listed in the weaknesses section below.
Simply put, the eye allows her to control the emotion of fear. She could kill a weak minded person simply from giving them a fear induced heart attack. For her foes, she could scare them into a catatonic state, if they are weak of mind. For her allies, she could absorb their fears, and turn them into berserker soldiers that fear neither death, injury, or anything else while making her own self stronger. Or, she could achieve the same effect by making them more afraid of her than death or injury. Increasing someones strength and abilities through sheer fear - which would also increase her strength as she fed off of the fear.
Currently, the most devastating thing she can do with her power, is send someone into a never ending nightmare of their own worst fears. She has no control over what someone sees, she can only start the events in motion. If they fall for the trick, they are rendered catatonic until they manage to break free from the fear. During this state, the victim becomes a battery to fuel her own powers.
This, is the worst case scenario for someone fighting her. The more fear there is for her to feed on, the more powerful she herself becomes.
she can sense fear, as well. Useful...for keeping track of people near her.
Other Skills: Aside from her abilities, she has been trained in swordplay. Her Battle Sense abilities make her quite good at it as well. She wields a simple, yet elegant sword. They actually came in a pair, but for now she only uses one. One is silver/black, the other is gold/black. A gift from her father before she was sent to the school to study.
was also trained in physical defense, and has a basic understanding of martial arts and use of rifles/guns.
Weaknesses: The powers most obvious flaw, is that it will not work on people without fear. Of course, all people have fears, correct? So then theoretically this weakness shouldn't exist...
Aside from that, her powers need fear to fuel them. Either fear from the surrounding area and others, or fuel from herself.
Emotionally, despite her ice-queen exterior, she's quite a bit on the troubled side. If only from her constant fear of not being good enough, failing, and need to be perfect. It is more than enough to fuel the eyes basic abilities.
The eye also causes the user to suffer from chronic nightmares themselves, as such, she has conditioned herself to sleep very little unless she absolutely needs it.
...needless to say, the Eye, is not a toy just anyone should mess with.
Personality: Ziska is a seemingly harsh girl with an even harsher outlook on life. She has a strong belief in order, following the rules and making sure others do so as well. After all, without rules there would simply be chaos, and chaos is...undesirable. She regularly makes sure that students aren't breaking the rules, and if someone is caught cheating on a test or something, she will make sure they know that such a thing is...unwelcome.
She is a no-nonsense woman with a bit of a superiority complex and who does not put up with a lot of shenanigans. If you have time to be slacking off, you have time to be bettering yourself. At least, that is what she believes. She practices this herself, as she can often be found studying, training her swordsmanship, or trying to develop her other powers further. Though the latter can be a bit difficult...to find a willing subject for.
Needless to say, she's not going to be winning any popularity contests. While she follows all the rules, doesn't break any, and for her record is clean for the most part, the way she treats the other students keeps her from being anywhere on the popularity scale.
If someone actually took the painstaking time to get to know her on some level, or actually simply just started a small conversation with her, they'd find that she's actually quite amicable and friendly - as long as they behaved themselves in her presence. And by that, I mean show her what some might call an unreasonable amount of respect.
Under her ice-queen exterior though, is a very troubled girl who is constantly obsessed with being the best at almost everything. The fear of not living up to her fathers expectations is what drives her, and is the main source of fuel for her abilities.
However, she does have an intense...dislike, for non-supers. A belief that has been driven into her by both her father and mother, and is quite vocal about her opinions on them, and people who rely on silly, easily broken trinkets for their abilities.
Backstory:Ziska Sieghild was born on a cold winter day in January. Born to a rather well off old German family in Brandenburg with ties to old Nazi Germany in WW2. She was the fourth, and last child of the Sieghilds'. Both of her parents were supers, and her three siblings also had abilities as well. Little Ziska though...did not, much to her parents dismay as they both...thought very little of those without abilities.
Still, they thought of her as their own daughter...and if she wasn't going to have abilities, then she would simply have to use her natural talents in other ways. From the day she could walk, her parents made her undergo strict training and studies so that she, as a normal person without abilities would be able to stand even the slimmest chance against those with abilities.
She eagerly applied herself, wanting little more than to please her parents. It didn't leave her much time for a social life, or for really playing or getting along with her other siblings, aside from her oldest brother who often got the both of them into quite a bit of trouble.
As she got older, her parents trained her in sword play, marksmanship with various guns, and other martial pursuits. She was a quick study, and easily picked up on things. However, no matter how hard she applied herself, she was never...good enough for either of her parents or even came close to comparing herself to her siblings.
This...eventually led her to search for a way to get better...to acquire powers of her own. Not exactly an easy test, or a sure-fire process. Genetic enhancements, cybernetics...radiation. She all looked at with scrutiny. However, none were an exact process, and most could lead to...disastrous results.
At the age of 13, she was sent to study abroad at a relatives house in Greece.
The relative seeing that she was obsessed with gaining powers, suggested that perhaps she would find what she is looking for there. After a series of backroom deals and dealing with rather...questionable merchants and sources of information, she finally found something that suited her needs.
Magic.
Or at least...a form, of it. She had never held much stock in gods and such, but when presented with what could be a potentially life changing experience, and grant her abilities on par with those of her siblings...she eagerly leaped at the chance. Through a bit of information gathering, she found a person, secluded in an ancient part of Greece...someone who called herself an Oracle, who might possibly be able to help her.
The oracle explained there was one way she could gain...superhuman abilities. Drinking the 'blood of a god' could possibly yield the results she was looking for. After spending a few days weighing the pros and cons, she took the oracles offer.
It was easy enough, drinking the concoction the oracle presented her with, but that was the easy part. To this day, she won't exactly say what happened since she swore an oath to not tell anyone about what transpired, but she came out a changed girl, with the 'Eye of Deimos', and the ability to manipulate a persons fear.
After returning home, two years later and spending most of the rest of her years honing her abilities, she presented herself and her new abilities to her father, who was quite surprised at this development. When asked...she told the only lie she ever told her father.
She was born with the abilities, but they were not able to manifest in such a controlled environment. Both of her parents, were thrilled - for once...she finally felt like she was part of the family.
However, with that, also comes with the responsibilities. When she was 16, she enrolled to her first year of Herculean Academy. She was sent mainly to learn, and as a boarding school just like all of her siblings. However, her father also asked her to...tell her of the superhero school. She simply assumed he wanted to know more about it.
This is her second year here, and she is looking forward to it.
