Current I just can't. This is too much. Berserk was so influential on so many things that I love. Goodbye, Miura. You'll be missed by many.

Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

Yeeah...sorry fam, not all that interested in what I'm seeing here.

Apologies, but I think I'll be stepping out. I'll keep an eye on it, but from that intro alone I'm not too keen on this.

Especially the being forced into some sort of guild/affiliation at the start. Never was fond of being in one of those in MMOs.
@Thecrash20

Sorry, sorry xD
Just had to say that. I've been holding it in since the previous discussion.

To be perfectly honest, I like your idea of perhaps already being a fairly high level and then just get sucked into a game world similar to Overlord, try to find out what is going on and maybe world domination or two.

There would be plenty of room for character development (even more so, in my opinion) than starting out as noobs that get sucked in. For one, you might be an OP Badass. Now what are you going to do with all that power in this game world?

just an example, of course.
@McHaggis

Generally speaking, in an RP such as this, I believe Death is pointless and adds nothing to the story long-term.

All it adds is just short term drama that is easily resolved given time. There is only so many ways someone can react to death before it just starts getting repetitive from a literary standpoint. As someone who has taken a few psychology and similar classes in college, one would become desensitized/adjusted to such things faster than one might think, especially if its a constant thing. Unless that person who died is like, your best friend or something, most probably wouldn't even bat much of an eye to death.

The first time it's a tragedy. The second time its just unfortunate. The third time, it just happens and people have to accept that and move on.

Perhaps I am again, just being a cynical bastard with a slightly pessimistic view of the world, but I'd vote for another system entirely with more of a psychological effect.

But well, this is a discussion for another time I suppose. Don't want to start this whole discussion again.
Gotta be 100% honest here, and I don't mean any disrespect or offense to @Gowi, but I'd probably not participate in an RP that he GMs, simply due to creative differences we seem to have about what would be fun in a VRMMO RP (Permadeath, stats of any kind, classes, etc). It'd be the exact opposite of what I'd want in an RP, or even in an MMO itself.

So yeah, if you guys want to have fun with that, I'm not sure I'd be all that interested though unless we could make a compromise of some sort.
@NarcissisticPotato

Pff, Democracy. Please. The only thing I'ma be running is a dictatorship with me as your God King.

*ahem*

Anyways.

Personally, what drew me to this was the setting and lack of stats/HP/MP stuff at the beginning. Or at least, the lack of information on them at the time. I would greatly like to get rid of all of those things myself, since any attempt to try and put that into an RP would only make things needlessly complicated and only eventually make everyone salty in some manner in my opinion.

I would also personally get rid of classes in favor of a more 'skill based' system where it depends wholly on the players skill at something, and not on numbers and would allow for more fluid 'class' advancement between 'classes', but eh, that's not exactly something everyone might be comfortable with/like.

So a bit like what jabbers was doing here, perhaps, but with a little more fluidity in eventually classing up I think.

Also, I would greatly enjoy there being more than human races in this.
@NarcissisticPotato

I agree. I was honestly looking forward to this, somewhat. That said, I have no idea how I would go about making an RP about this...I do have some ideas about how I would run the 'classes', skills and stuff, but I'm not certain I'd be a good GM for this sort of thing.

At least, not without some help from some people so we could work out how we'd run things.
So, if someone wants a visit from a flying sword, feel free to put that in your next post.

Or I'll choose someone at random for giggles.
~Tania and Lena~

The next two dummies were easy enough to deal with. The second fell to Tania's blade form. The sharp, almost weightless silver blade made quick work of slicing into the dummies head with surprising ease. Thankfully, there wasn't much room for error and she didn't trip over her own feet. The third was a simple recorder dummy, and she barely had to do anything for that. Just borrow some of Tania's power for herself, and use a simple thrust. The only difference was, she started out five yards away and managed to close the distance in only a second.

Currently, the elf was staring down the final Training dummy. She felt a bit winded, heh, but it was nothing her long hours of physical training couldn't help with.

"Alright, I can do this..." She mumbled to herself. She just had to focus. This 'skill' if you will, was something Lena and Tania had been working on for awhile now. With the User form, Lena's body and equipment become as if it were the wind. Incredibly light to the point of almost weighing nothing, but still retaining the other qualities of it. It was quite useful in a number of situations, and since it barely took any sort of effort to maintain at all it was fairly useful.

The only thing she wished was easier, was actually controlling the wind. Every time she tried to do it so far, she failed horribly. She had been getting better, if a little, but...well, maybe she'd get it right this time. The elf held her sword at her side, both hands gripping the hilt of the blade. If done correctly, aside from being hit with the blade, a powerful gust of wind would send whatever was hit to the ground.

The elf swung the sword downwards. Unfortunately, in fear of using too little power, she seemed to have used too much, and instead of directing it towards the dummy, she directed it towards the ground. A powerful gust of wind sent her flying backwards a few yards, barely having time to utter a small squeal as she was launched backwards. The good news, was she hit her target. Bad news was, she was laying on the ground a bit dizzy. Worse news, the gust of wind sent her sword flying off to who knows where. Oh, and her body suddenly felt like it weighed a ton.

"Uh...well, good news is you hit the dummy..sorta. If you count barely grazing its arm as hitting it..." Tania's voice didn't sound too reassuring. "Bad news is, uh, well, your sword decided to take flying lessons from a bird that can't fly itself."

Lena simply covered her face with her hands, trying to hide her embarrassment at screwing up. It didn't even do what it was supposed too. Sure, the power was there this time but without any sort of control, she'd just end up hurting more than helping....like always.

"Haaa..." Lena sighed, shaking her head after a few seconds. Well, she couldn't lay here and criticize her own failures. She'd just have to do better next time she tried it. "We should, uhm, probably try and go find my sword." The elf shook her head. It'd be bad if it hurt someone in the process of getting a crash landing.

"Right behind ya."
workin' on a post right now, myself.
