Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

Ah...wait...

Did....

Did the quadruped not understand her?

Gasp

"Oh woeful day! I have met a new species for studying and yet knowledge is not to be had!" In a rather overly dramatic fashion, Shael brushed the back of her hand against her forehead. "Oh sweet twilight, thou art cruel! Keeping the delicious bosom of understanding from me!" More importantly, though, that robot said something quite rude in their native tongue. It was obviously a mispronunciation since it didn't seem to be completely understanding what they were saying.

However - she did recognize its language! Why, it was english! Was this a human robot?

"Ah, robot! Do you kiss your creator with that foul mouth of yours or-" She giggled in near-perfect english, but before she could finish her joke, the ground shook beneath them, causing her to stumble lightly. Shael's eyes immediately flicked from the two others and then towards the door of the castle as Zecora had done. Well that wasn't right at all, was it? That didn't feel like a natural phenomena. Natural earthquakes were far more chaotic feeling than that - that one felt calculated. Or rather, artificial. Was something large trashing around somewhere?

well, no matter.

"Hmm, has our Quadruped friend here not had sustenance in awhile?"

~~The Wreck of the Eventide~~

Not far away back at the wreck, Jessiel was busy taking inventory of how much supplies they had left. Five of the 13 Ebon remaining were on guard duty, leaving just eight left for physical labor, inventory, and doing what repairs they could. Honestly? It wasn't looking good. They didn't have the parts or resources able to repair the Eventide. Sure, they had a replicator, but it was for smaller scale things. Ammo, clothing, weapons...not an industrial sized one.

"Lord Jessiel." A voice interrupted him from his calculations, a quiet hum in his head from the guards telepathic abilities.

"Likely native organic spotted. Approaching the ship."

"I'll handle it. Observe and remain on standby in case hostilities ensue." With that, Jessiel turned his head in the direction of Astral Gleam. The crew hadn't made any effort to hide themselves, after all, they had little reason too for the moment. They were working under the assumption there weren't to be any hostile parties involved, after all. Slowly Jessiel turned to face the native Pony who was approaching their ship.

Upon seeing Astral Gleam, Jessiel observed quietly for a few moments. Quadrupedal. Intelligent seeming...mastery of magic? That horn looked like a conduit, much like their own bodies were used to channel less physical energies.

"...friend or foe?" Jessiel asked bluntly. "The Ebon have no desire for conflict. Merely study."

Of course, All Astral Gleam would hear was several low hums and chimes, as if the creature was singing something. Astral Gleam would quite quickly realize that the wreck still had a fair number of Ebon scavenging supplies from the ship. For the most part though, none of them seemed hostile.

He might recognize something moving at the edges of his vision just out of sight beyond the dense trees of the Everfree - the five Ebon working on guard duty were already moving into position if this creature was hostile in any way.

@Ryofu

Ah, she was bored.

Wasn't there anyone fun around here to mess with? Rile up? Annoy until their head exploded? Ah, so far everyone seemed so utterly mundane. No fun at all to be had. Sure, she had a...business meeting to attend to, but that could wait for a bit until she had a bit of fun. She even closed up shop early just to have a bit of extra fun.

"BOOM"

Flinching slightly at the sudden explosion from a nearby house, Mie turned her head to the source of it. Eeeh? What had happened? The smell of an explosion - or fire in general was extremely unpleasant to her. Perhaps someone exploded themselves? The fox waited a few minutes nearby, seeing if anyone came out. Perhaps they'd be fun to mess with? Soon enough, emerging from a building was a woman, a wizard, from the looks of her if her so blatantly obvious garb was anything to judge by.

Out of the building emerged what was very obviously a wizard or mage, if their blatantly obvious clothing was anything to go by. Hmm...maybe, perhaps...

"Hmm...well, might as well try my luck." Mie chuckled as she walked after Calliope. "Hey, explodey mage!" She waved her hand, trying to get the older woman's attention as she gave her a bright, though obviously impish grin. "Did you intend to blow yourself up, or are you terrible at your job?" She asked in her usual smug tone.

~The cavern~

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Danny, Reoth." Ash replied to the wisps introduction, after swallowing down some more goblin. "While I thank you for the offer, I don't think we need more Mana crystals right at the moment." She turned back to the other lizard, thinking for a few moments. They were getting to be a rather large party, weren't they? Two pixies, a wisp, three lizards...hmm, at least they seemed more manageable than the previous little group she had formed. Well, it couldn't hurt to have more hands and all to help...and more people around to work so she didn't have too. "Feel free, I can't eat these two by myself." Ash finally responded in a practical sounding manner after a few seconds. "Always good to have a few more hands around to help."

Turning her attention back to Naji...well quite honestly, Ash had no idea what he was going on about. Tavern? Narrative contrivance? Insight check? None of that made any sense at all to her. The lizard would have frowned, had her mouth been capable of making such an expression. Instead she settled for tilting her head and giving Naji an odd look. Scott seemed to have some idea what he was going on about, but she hadn't a clue.

"I...don't know exactly what you're talking about Naji." He seemed fine though, so she wouldn't press the issue. Scott seemed a little better after they reassured him nothing was wrong, though he still seemed cautious and a little upset. "But Scott...just make sure to try and do better next time? That's all any of us can do in such a scenario." Not that she was used to having to really try. When it came to her academic subjects she never had a tough time of it. "But anyways, we should get moving. I don't like being out in the open like - Ardur?"

Before she could finish that sentence, a familiar voice made itself known.

"I told you before, I am not your steed, pixie." She irritably replied, but otherwise kept quiet as the other pixie spoke. Skirmish? Bonfire? Oh good lord no! No no no! That put a major halt on her own plans! Why for all things logical and sane would they attack the goblins!? Two group of reborn people, too? Were all of them just brain dead and pathetic wastes of air? As Ardur kept speaking, Ash's own mood continued to sour. What of the goblin she had befriended? It was a high chance she was the same as them, given the circumstances. She hoped that goblin was all right, at least.

She held a claw over her nose. Ah, why did she reincarnate? The sweet release of death would be better than putting up with this.

"...and this is why I hate humans." Ash replied in a cold grumble to Ardur. "Wasteful, selfish, and pathetic. Out of all the routes you could have approached the goblins, why choose violence!? Oh don't get me wrong I'm prepared to fight for my life and freedom. I will never let anyone other than myself dictate my life ever again, but this is just absolutely pathetic." She hissed again. "I even befriended one of them! I could have convinced them we could work together, even if for a little while. Share resources! Learn magic from that Crispy! But no, no, you short-sighted fools chose slaughter over potential co-operation! Violence should be a last resort, not the first!"

Panting lightly, Ash realized she was suddenly quite tired and that her little rant was being wasted in the pixie. From having to take these two goblins down, using the overwork skill and this bit of bad news...bah, she was tired. She wanted to quite honestly, blast Ardur in the face with a ball of venom.

"...I'm wasting my breath, like always aren't I? What a disappointment." She grumbled, calming herself and turning away from Ardur. "I don't know why I was expecting anything different from people. Go help your allies, then, Ardur. I could care less what happens. I'll live regardless. I don't plan to die a pathetic death in this life." She cast a glance at the others gathered to see their reactions before turning her head back down the path to her little camp. It didn't matter, in the end, did it? "My camp isn't far from here, for those interested. Out of sight of the goblins so we should be safe there, at least until those fools finish their fighting." She began walking and would return regardless of what anyone else did, though she made sure to hiss loudly at Colchain and give him a threatening 'follow' order'

"...flowers?" Erka mused beneath his helmet. "I'm not a yellow stinger wasp, elf." He replied, though didn't seem too upset with the gesture. Ah, such naive things elves were. They didn't know they were basically the butt of every Myrkith joke back home these days with how they've shown themselves. Honestly? Erka had a soft spot for them, but he wasn't going to say anything about that. "But thanks...though I don't have anywhere to put them on the ship. Perhaps I'll plant them in the garden later." About that time, Harisa and Malia arrived. The moth seemed content to stay near the door, keeping a good distance between him and the other humans in the room. He gave a friendly wave to Erka, but for the most part seemed to keep to himself - until Jess and the Captain entered.

"Ah...human..." For a few seconds, he stared back at Jess as she gave him a harsh look. Oh no. Ohhhh no."Gah! No you-stop!" For the third time that day, he found himself being harassed. "W-what is with you humans!?" He shouted, struggling a bit against Jess' hug, making more angry moth noises in the process. "Lemme go you brute!"

Erka simply smirked under his helmet, sitting the flowers on the table near them. He sure wasn't going to hold onto them. Kiri simply watched impassively, walking around to the back of the room while they greeted each other briefly for the first time. She'd let them get a little...acquainted before she got down to business. Soon, Harisa came to Malia's rescue, and Jess finally released him.

"Gah! You humans! Keep your filthy hands off my fluff you brutes!" He shouted, pointing angrily at Jess and Harisa, before quickly flitting over to the captains side.

"Well, if you're quite done." Kiri said, taking a seat at the end of the table in what was obviously the 'captains chair'. "Then we can get to business. First of all, I am Scarath Kirimik Drakat. Captain Drakat, Scarath, or simply 'Kiri' will do just fine. Since while this is a military vessel, we do have a few people with more civilian backgrounds here...so I'm not going to be too strict with the standard rank and file." It'd be far too annoying to have the elves attempt that and mess up anyways. "With that said...lets get started."

"I assume you all have a basic understanding of why we're here." Kiri continued, opening a few folders on the desk. Mission statements, documents, and other things she'd already memorized. "Explore the galaxy, and find new life. I'm sure that's what they told you." Malia took a seat on the other side of the captain, eager to finally be out of the clutches of those humans.

"Simple enough mission statement, not so much in execution. Finding life - and making contact is going to be quite the difficult challenge. If the Myrkith's own history is anything to go by, it will likely never be an entirely simple thing to solve." Her eyes glanced over to each of the gathered individuals, folding her hands in front of her and resting her elbows on the desk. "Which is why I've asked each of you to come. I consider most of you," Her eyes lingered slightly longer on the elves. "To be some of the best in your fields, so with a little luck we can avoid starting a war or otherwise bad relations with another race should we find one." She paused a moment, but not long enough for an interruption.

"However - we are also out here to discover colonizable planets for the confederacy. As well as any planet that looks like it might have some history or ruins of some ancient civilization on it for study and documentation." she paused, giving them a moment to ask questions or interrupt should they wish.

As her spears clinked off the knights armor seeming to little effect, Sel inwardly grimaced. Those should have been able to at least cause most people to pause, or give reason to hesitate. She'd need to step things up a bit then. That was fine too. She could handle this big guy easily enough, couldn't she? Of course she could.

"Charging in like a brute..." Sel mused to herself as the knight began to slowly jog towards her. "I'll give you credit, knight. You certainly have a few tricks up your sleeve, but you're not winning this." She confidently retorted, and in one swift motion, waved her spear over her head. For an instant, her body became wreathed in a shadowy veil, obscuring her appearance from any looking. In the next instant, what looked to be several copies of Sel emerged from the cloak.

Each of her clones had a different 'effect' woven into its magic. They couldn't cast spells, of course, and they couldn't really interact with anything, but if the Lot knight attacked the wrong one, he'd get a face full of a dark spell.
~~Ebon Shael~~

Ah, this forest was so...green! Not like the frozen ones on the dark side of Sal'Xantis, or the scraggly blasted ones on its sunlit side. Or even the dark, peaceful Gloam wood present in the Twilight Band of her homeworld. The humans mentioned this was how trees were on their homeworld. She had never seen them before but ah, it was so beautiful! Ah, ah, a thought for later. She couldn't let herself get off track, no no. Much to study and do! She'd need to document, log, and thoroughly examine everything about the life on this planet! Oh, she hoped Jessiel had the science equipment working by the time she got -

"Ah, that's a cliff." She audibly commented, almost stumbling over the edge of a chasm as she hadn't entirely been looking where she was going. Before she could take in the castle and its entirety, however, a loud boom was heard overhead. Casting her head to the sky, she frowned slightly under her mask. "...and that's a sonic boom. Breaking the sound barrier? Curious. So this place does have life...hmhm...Ooooh, I want to meet them!~" She giggled brightly. "We could share technology! Magic! Theories! Discover the mysteries of the universe, Tee-hee!" Ah, if only there was some way to get the attention of their aircraft that wouldn't make her seem hostile.

Flinging magic spears at people were not a good way to make first impressions, ehe! She learned that when she met the humans.

"Oh well, oh well! If they're here that means they're aware of us." Ever positive, Shael turned her attention back to the castle. "We're bound to run into each other very soon. Veeery veeery soon, eheh!" Leaping over to one of the rickety bridges, Shael took in the old, but very familiar structure.

It looked very similar to the structures they lived in back on Sal'Xantis. Far more ancient and with less advanced amenities...but there was definitely old magic here of some sort. Very old. Extremely old. The place just oozed with discoveries waiting to be made! She'd just need to find a way to navigate those amazing hallways. Tee-hee!

Countless stones were missing. Walls crumbled. Statues and bookcases rotten and in shambles...and yet, Shale couldn't help but to feel as though it was recently lived in. A breath of life was in the place, so to speak. Newer doors seemed to have been installed in the front of the castles main arch, and through another a freshly restored tapestry could be seen, depicting some sort of winged quadruped in colorful colors.

"Ahhh, such magnificent restoration!" She brightly replied before quickly silencing herself as her ears picked up something. Audible. Speaking? She couldn't make out the words, she was too far away! Oh, was there someone else here? She should go greet them, indeed! An Ebon must be an hospitable host, after all! Quickly sprinting in the direction of the voice, she quickly found its source. A...some sort of small quadruped! Richly decorated and wearing an assortment of golden rings, with bags full of plants and other important looking alchemical ingredients. Oh, and next to her was an adorable little droid of some sort! Ooh! Like that AI the humans had with them when they visiting! She was no good with technology herself, but how fascinating! Curious! So grandly curiously fascinating!

She just had to go say hi!

"Hellloooo!~" Shael arrived on the scene - quite likely in a very sudden and startling manner as they likely weren't to have seen her while the 13th art was activated. Before they could say much, she was already in front of the Zebra, giggling lightly and holding the side of her face. "Ah, such a pretty thing! So curious! Small but intelligent? And such a foreign biology! Ah ah, I almost want to dissect you!~" She giggled in a mildly morbid seeming matter before settling down slightly, turning to the robot, dancing around Sparky in a slow circl, observing him excitedly. "Ooh, and such a pretty robot! How do you work, I wonder? Are you intelligent? An AI?" Before she could answer though, she finished with a final question, directed back towards "Tell me little quadruped, I overherd you saying something about the nearest city? Am I better hoofing it there, or getting Jessiel to carry me?"

There

Puns always made a good first impression.

She stopped walking, completely unaware they didn't speak the same language. Or rather, she had completely overlooked that probability. Instead, all Zecora and Sparky would likely hear, were several melodic hums, chimes, and giggles.
I'll be getting a post up after class tonight

EDIT:

Sorry for the delay! Got home later than I thought I would. A bit sloppy post, but I needed to get one out.

"Hmm~" Mie hummed, holding a hand to her chin as she observed the peasant man in front of her closely. Looked at least more well off than certain others she had seen. He was wanting to buy something for his home. Something about a present for his wife or something to put in their home. Good, she could probably get a bit more money out of him if that was the case. She just had to decide what exactly she was going to attempt selling him. He seemed to be the traditionally masculine sort.

"Ah...I do have something I think you'll love." She smiled, replying in the most honeyed voice she could. "Tell this little fox...have you ever been to Gusteko?"

"No...?" The man replied, questioning slightly where this was going.

"Hmhm," She nodded, walking over over to a rack where several rugs were hanging. The large, obviously mildly ostentatious things were colored in various shades of blue and whites, and clearly of foreign design. "I have the pleasure to have just returned from there after a bit of a trip. Cold place, but friendly people." She pulled one of the rugs from the rack slightly, running her hand over the dense, warm fabric. "Now normally something like this would cost you a pretty fine sum if you were to buy it from anyone else." She continued, letting the man feel the rugs himself. "But since I'm a nice little fox, I'll let give you a deal on it."

"Hmm...I dunno, it's still pretty expensive." The man replied, not quite buying it yet. "It's almost an entire weeks pay..." Just a little more nudging in the right direction, then.

"Expensive?" Mie sighed, wrapping an arm around the mans shoulder and pulling the taller human down to her level. "Hmm, you're right. It's an expensive rug. I could probably sell it to a noble for double the price." She mused. "But y'see, friend, I'm offering to sell it to you for a pittance compared to that. Just a handful of coins for a rug that will make both your wife happy, and make you the envy of everyone on your street." She released the man, shaking her head and sighing, whacking him in the face with her tail and causing him to recoil slightly. "But of course, I understand if not...perhaps a vase? Some exotic artwork from Kararagi? I also have fresh vegetables from a few nearby farms." She walked back to a small table where she conducted most of her business from.

"Now hold on, I didn't say I couldn't afford it." The man continued in a mildly irritated manner, taking out a coin purse, seeming to weigh his options a bit more. "She would like it...How much is it?"

A few words helping the man roll up the rug to carry home, she had made a hefty profit off that since she had gotten the rug for practically nothing. The fox yawned, stretching tiredly. She hadn't sold as many things as she'd have liked, but she was intending on staying in Priestella for awhile. After traveling for so long, it was nice to be back. Maybe she'd visit her sister sometime, too. She needed to restock on some of her weapons anyways. She was probably worried about her, too. She hadn't been here in quite some time. Half a year, almost since her last trip here. Business had saw fit to take her elsewhere, and even a bit of travel into Gusteko! That was a fun trip. Cold, but interesting. Such a shame about what happened to her guide, though. Ran afoul of some demon beasts on the road...ah, at least she'd be relatively safe here and wouldn't need to put up with losing anything valuable.

"Hup, well, that should do it." She mused to herself, locking the box she kept her money in while traveling, and storing the rest of her wares in her wagon. Should be safe enough in the Cham quarter...heh, no one stole from her and got away with it even if they tried. There was pretty good security at the Inn she was staying at anyways, and he was more than happy to let her conduct her business out of there. She just had to pull the wagon and everything back into the stables and it'd be safe enough.

Well, time to go find something interesting to do in her free time until she had other business to take care of.
Allllright, one more post from me.

Was getting rather long so I decided to end it there.

Feel free to have anyone run into Shael, if you're in the vicinity of the old ruin. Decided to take ya up on that suggestion, @Shoryu
~~The Eventide Wreckage~~

The ship slammed into the forest, clipping the spire of a tall, ancient castle on the way down, piercing through the exhausted shields but leaving the rest of the ship intact - only for it to quickly slam into the ground not seconds after. The ship hit the ground at an awkward angle right on its nose, sending everyone inside of it flying into the nearest wall and sending the ship flipping over, rending and tearing the soft metal of the ship nearly in half.

Soon however, the chaos came to an end. The ship lodged itself against a large tree, debris scattered in a wide area, the purple metal easily picked out among the foliage, along with a few unfortunates that didn't make it.

"Jester!"

A faint voice called out to her, cutting the fogginess of her mind like a knife. Familiar...president? No, she was back on the homeworld...Her head was swimming, a pulsing headache felt like it was threatening to tear her entire skull in half. Difficult to think...maybe if she just rested a little more...

"Sheistal! Don't you die on me you fool!"

The pain was replaced by a cold, pleasant sensation, clearing the fogginess in her head. Urf, her head injury seemed to have been healed, but the rest of her body hurt all over. Did she break something? No good, no good. She couldn't entertain or advise if she was injured.

"Hmm...ah, that's the voice of the ever so-serious research department head! Ah, saving me of all Ebon? And here I was worried you'd leave little ol' me to rot- gah." She laughed loudly, finally opening her eyes as her face was met with a firm smack from her subordinate. The other Ebon was dressed in a simple black and blue robe, long white hair tied in various ornamental fashions as per usual. He was applying pressure to a wound on her side, a small pool of water over his hand healing whatever wound she had to the best of his ability.

"Shuddap, you. You're not in good shape." He grunted, moving one of his hands over the rest of her body, the water following his touch. Shael groaned, the cool feeling spreading through the rest of her body as the comforting twilight filled her being, mending her wounds. She placed a hand over her stomach. Ah, she really wasn't in good shape, wasn't she?

"Ah, ah, but with you taking care of me I have naught to worry, hee hee - ack - oh that hurts...laughing hurts..." Her laugh faded off into a series of pained wheezes. "At least your gentle touch is comforting, hee!"

"You're lucky you didn't get anything vital hit." He continued in a much more serious tone, pulling his hands away from her body. "Can you stand, Jester?" Pulling her hand from her stomach, Shael slowly pulled her legs towards her and putting some weight on them. One of the downsides of being an Ebon was a constantly weak physical constitution. It was no secret that their bodies were weak - the weakest of the races on their homeworld even. Even a simple injury might be fatal should they be careless.

"Ah, I can stand. Legs are more wobbly than the presidents when people flirt with her, though, hehe!" She giggled before devolving into a series of coughs again. "Ah, it still hurts..." Shaking some dizziness out of her head, Shael moved her body in an odd fashion. Arms, extended upwards before twisting them around and putting them behind her. Legs lifted behind her head one at a time, before extending one fully outwards, twirling slowly and curving it until bringing it to a rest. And of course, lastly, turning her head completely around and turning it a full ninety degrees. Nothing seemed broken or wrong. "Hmhm, Many thanks, Jessiel!" She began walking, the science wing of the ship seemed relatively intact, and a few other Ebon were already salvaging things from the wreckage. A few of the deceased had been collected and laid in neat rows outside.

"Ah, so morbid." She mused, standing on a single foot as she observed the wreckage. "How many are left?"

"Out of the twenty five assigned to the Eventide, thirteen of us remain." Jessiel replied. "Of those that remain, we have made efforts to heal to the best of our ability. Some will need some bed rest, however."

"Well better for them to return to the Twilight than be trapped here." She mused brightly. Must remain positive! Positivity always made things go so much better. "The Eventide? Does it return to the Twilight, or will a new dawn rise?"

"The ship...does not look good." He replied, motioning for Shael to follow. "You somehow managed to save most of the science bay, though we lost the cryo chamber. We still have the fabricator and much of the science equipment. The engines are completely trashed, though the wormhole drive is still intact. We could likely have what techs remain fix it fairly soon, should we find some materials. We have enough food stuffs and ammo to last a few months, so that shall likely not be an issue." He glanced up towards the night sky of the planet. "Assuming this planet seems to have a breathable atmosphere, we could stay here for some time before needing to leave I imagine - and some of the men mentioned ruins or something not far from here." Ooh, what was that? Ruins? Breathable atmosphere - could it be? Another inhabited planet like their own? Oh glorious day, fabulous day! Perhaps this bad luck was turning into a fortuitous event indeed!

"Ah, ah, what wonders! Ruins you say? Perhaps this planet is inhabited!" Shael quickly walked away from the ships wreckage, not taking her injuries into account when she twirled around, addressing the crew at large. "Hey-o! Ebon, this is the so great and attractive jester speaking!" She waited for the assembled Ebon to quiet down. "Everyone that's able, set up a perimeter. Can't have anything unfriendly spooking us, no! Grab those rifles, but only use them if fired upon first! Jessiel, I'm leaving you in charge."

"W-wait your injuries!"

And with that, Shael sprinted away from the ship. She'd do some scouting herself - she was the one best suited for it, after all. None of the others had training in the magical arts. Well, they did...and they were likely better than she was. But she couldn't let them upstage her show, no! Ars IV and Ars XII were perfect for this situation. She could see as if the sun was setting, and she wasn't likely to be noticed except by those with significant arcane or scientific prowess. Where was she heading? That ruin Jessiel mentioned. Perhaps she could learn something from all of this! A cursory examination was needed, after all!

"...and she's gone." Jesseil sighed, rubbing the side of his head. "Didn't even get to tell her about the other probable crashed ships...Alright you all." Jesseil addressed the rest of the Ebon. "You heard Jester Sallatha. Form a defensive perimeter, but don't show any hostilities. I want nothing getting near us without us noticing!"
