I just can't. This is too much. Berserk was so influential on so many things that I love. Goodbye, Miura. You'll be missed by many.

Bio
Hello! Welcome to my little bio.
Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).
I was probably gonna make my 'Zerker character an adventurer. An Irish/Celtic themed battle loving wanderer probably wouldn't fit in well with a group of holy knights.
but if it makes things easier, It'd be easy enough to work 'em into more knightly, heh.
"Well," Ash mused. "We can see about getting you shoes once we're out of here..." Ash chuckled lightly, doing her best to potentially spot anything wrong with Orchid's small wounds. Didn't seem to be anything serious for now. Thankfully the Wisp seemed to be agreeable, and Reoth was doing his job. As the wisp approached, a small rock...egg? whatever it was she was carrying seemed to jump form her grasp before nearly falling to the ground and...hatching a pixie? It definitely looked like a pixie. He was certainly quite attractive, had Ash a moment to spare on the thought. For now though, as intriguing as it was she couldn't linger on the subject. Orchid began speaking in quite the...well, funny sassy manner. Orchid spoke up upon noticing the Wisp - and Ash couldn't say she disagreed with her ally right now either. It was highly probably this wisp certainly was involved with the other group that so brazenly attacked the goblins, making a mess of everything. The thought did make her more than a little irritable, but she wasn't one to act on such base impulses.
Even so, further behavior like this was not helpful to the current situation. Thankfully the Wisp didn't seem to take it too bad.
The wisp, apparently named Mourningstar went on to explain what happened. Some sort of slime had commanded all of this? Potentially the one Ash had met earlier? Maybe. Too little information to make an accurate guess on. No matter. Either way, she would be cautious of this slime from now on. The wisp went on to explain more about them having an ally or two that were seemingly left behind and seemed particularly insistent that they find them. Ash breathed in, then exhaled.
"We can figure out this mess later when we're safe. For now we need to watch each other." Ash spoke up loudly, hopefully her Charisma would keep everyone mostly calm. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Ash, Reoth, and Orchid. It seems we are mostly in agreement about needing to leave this cave." She spoke in a friendly, but hurried manner as she indicated to the three of them with her tail as she named themselves. "...I would...usually not mind helping you find your friends, but as it stands I'm exhausted and won't be much use. I haven't slept in over twenty four hours thanks to this mess." Ash shook her head, obviously exhausted. "And I have no intention of throwing myself in the middle of whatever is happening here. We're heading for the exit - and both of you are more than free to come with." Turning her head back to Orchid, Ash attempted to catch up with the goblin and position herself in the front, still walking, albeit a little wobbly.
"Let me lead." She said, keeping herself Alert. "I can see the pitfalls well enough and potentially anything else ambushing us." Turning her head back to the rest of the gathered people, Ash shouted back so they could hear her. "Reoth, you bring up the rear and keep your eyes and ears open. Orchid, stay near me please. Mourningstar, Oberon, if you're coming, if you could stay above and see if you can spot anything from the air! You might find your friends, too." That was the best Ash could do for now. She couldn't stay behind and help Mourningstar and Oberon help find their friends. Not in her current state.
Mono was just a ball of fun, wasn't he? Chieko waited as Aer discussed things with the apparent police officer? Guardsmen? Probably a better word. Couldn't he choose a better choice of words? Chieko cringed lightly at the display. Well, whatever. Wasn't like she was going to say anything just yet. She might have been a hero, but she was also currently a tiny little bitty hero with no magical ability or training. And then He had to abduct the small adorable cat.
Ah! No! Why was he hurting the adorable smol kitty? No no, kitties were for petting not for punishing! She took a step forward, intent on saying something.
"You can't hurt and take her! You're a meanie!"
Chieko's head turned towards the sound of the voice. Aki you sweet adorable baby why would you do this.
"Stay behind me y-you, I'll make sure he doesn't hurt you again!"
Aki used charm! It was super effective! Perhaps not the intended target of the small girls cuteness, Chieko involuntarily held a hand to her heart, wincing in a mildly comical fashion as she tried her best to get Mono to release the small cat person. Ah, this world was great. She could die happy now. For the rest of the walk to Hero's District, Chieko was smiling in a happy manner.
Heroes District - Interrogation Deaths: 1
”Let’s get started, number three.” She pulled out a chair and sat in it, folding one leg over the other. ”I'm Captain Crunch. I oversee a fair portion of the king's naval fleet and am currently stationed here to make sure the waters remain bandit free.” She folded her arms. ”Tell me the events, as you remember them.”
Chieko sat in the office, mostly keeping to herself. If only Aki was here. She could use a little sister to head pat right about now. After her heroic display in front of Mono, she had almost died then and there from cuteness overload. Thankfully, actually having a little sister gave her some resistance to cute-type attacks.
She kept quiet as Crunch walked in, merely watching her silently. What should she say here? She had no clue, really. She had already pretty much said all she could to Mono and the others. Might as well tell the truth as much as she could. No reason to lie, anyways.
"...I was out shopping. Talking with my little sister..." Chieko's gaze turned to the floor, frowning lightly. What was she doing right now, she wondered? "I look up and suddenly I'm standing in a dark void with some weird old man in front of me. Asks me about love. No idea really, but he was creepy. After that..." Chieko frowned, fidgeting lightly with the ends of her jacket sleeves. She was nervous. "I'm suddenly standing in the middle of the slums." She didn't mention Hiro or Aerith. She didn't want to get them in trouble if she could help it since they had been nice to her.
”The slums?” Crunch leaned closer. ”That's a dangerous place right now, how did you get to the golden quarter?”
"Uhm," Chieko paused for a moment. Oh, maybe she shouldn't have mentioned that. Well, too late now. "A knight by the name of Vasilis and a nice lady by the name of Irene was in the area and helped me." She explained. "Hehe, there were a few bandits in the area but they drove them off. It was really cool! I've never erm, seem magic before." She blushed a bit, trying not to let the previous excitement of Vasilis' magic get to her and quickly moved on. "Then they decided it'd be best if we got some new clothes. Which is where I ran into Miss Aer and the others. Aer offered to help us get some help and get us where we needed to be."
Crunch sat up straight. ”Ahh, Irene. I've heard of her. A shame I couldn't see her today.” The captain stroked her chin. ”So it seems one way or another you all wound up in the golden quarter, and that was when the others spotted you. ” Crunch stood up and scuffed towards Chieko. She stopped suddenly when she was standing just a few feet away from her. ”Um.” She raised an eyebrow. ”You didn't go by the old guild hall by any chance, did you?”
"...um." Why was Crunch coming over here? This close to her? She felt very self conscious all of a sudden and fumbled her words for a few seconds when she was asked the next question. "...Uhm...G-Guild hall?" Chieko gave Crunch a confused look, frowning and shaking her head. "...We didn't stop anywhere, but we might have passed it." Ah, she honestly wanted to be out of here. She needed to find Aki and get a hug.
Crunch placed a hand on her own chin. ”Well, no more questions for now.” she headed for the door. ”Just one more and then I'll have a verdict.”
Mie Yukima
Golden Quarter
"Hmm...?" Donovan's voice bought Mie out of her thoughts. The old doctor was someone she did business with on occasion. Mostly disinfectants, among other medical supplies. "Ah, Donovan." She smiled in her usual cheeky, smug manner as she greeted the human. "Ahh, I wish that's all I was doing. Business was slow today. With all the troubles about it seems no one has coin to spare on a little fox such as myself, so I decided to take a break and play with a funny rabbit." She sighed, shaking her head. "But the rabbit got boring, so I'm just trying to find something to do to pass the time. Hardly anything fun happening today." She walked over, looking up at the taller human and noticing the towel.
"What about you though, hm? Anything interesting going on with you? Bandits got you working hard?" She smiled. "In need of anything to help? I do have some rare herbs from Kararagi used in medicine that help heal people. Some of the usual stuff too, if you need it." More than anything though, she was bored out of her skull. Sure she had that...meeting tonight she needed to go to and take care of, but until then she had absolutely nothing to do. Perhaps she should go back and open up shop. After all, time spent lazing around meant time she certainly wasn't going to get paid.
It seemed so far nothing was bothering them. Good. Hopefully things would stay that way. She didn't want to try fighting in her current state with how exhausted she was. At least Orchid and Reoth could help while she did what she could to support them. Carefully moving forward, Ash kept her Alert skill active as best she could, making sure to at least try and make sure she could hear her surroundings before anything jumped out at them. Unfortunately it didn't seem to be enough to keep Orchid entirely safe. The ground under the goblin shifted, Ash barely able to notice as far ahead as the Goblin had gotten.
"Orchid!" Ash immediately picked up the pace, though her tired and new body protested immensely as she tried to carefully navigate, trying to avoid any more of these traps herself. Urgh, she really wasn't doing well, was she? That didn't seem to be the end of it, either. Someone was shouting - quite loudly about bad guys and being chased. Ash turned her head towards the sound of the shouting, quickly weighing her options. If it was another human like them - they would be useful to have along. Even more so if it wasn't one of the ones who started this entire ridiculous assault on the Goblins in the first place.
"Wisp! Over here!" Quickly making a decision, Ash shouted back to the other lizard. "Reoth help that wisp if you can!" She then turned back to Orchid, approaching carefully as she could - hopefully her Alert skill would prevent her from falling for the same trap. "Are you alright, Orchid?" Ash's voice was tinged with concern as tired as it also sounded. "Do you see these goblins of yours? If you think it better to just flee, we can."
"...Reoth?" Ash blinked in surprise. "Oh thank heavens. I thought you'd...well, it doesn't matter." Ash shook her head. She'd have been smiling, had her lizard face been capable of it. "Be safe, Orchid." Ash said to her friend as she left, turning swiftly to Reoth. "There's not a lot of time to explain. Something bad is happening in this cave, and as you can see I've gotten a bit of an upgrade." She began walking, motioning with her tail for Reoth to follow as the torch was held over her head.
"I was able to finally get this magic thing under some sort of control, and I'd teach you but we're short on time...and quite frankly I'm exhausted." Ash sighed, shaking her head. "So I'll need you to keep close. I'm unsure how well I'll be able to fight at the moment if we're ambushed." Ash moved slowly, keeping her new Alert skill active. It'd help a lot, hopefully, in not getting ambushed like the skill said. "I'm going to meet up with Orchid and see if we can't get a few goblins on our side before leaving. No telling what else is going to be crawling around in this cave now."
Anyways, a letter to Apolios and Nerplagius has finally been given and for now, Lazhira's story shall take a little intermission for a few posts until Dirka gets to teach her magic.
Lazhira stood before the library, staring up at its relatively massive structure, the cold wind biting into her flesh going completely ignored. How was she to get in? The voice had gone silent, but she felt like she was being watched. As though a massive, studious eye was observing her somewhere close by. A mildly unsettling feeling when she thought about it, but she didn't. Instead she simply walked up to what looked like the front door. A massive set of blue decorative double doors lightly covered in snow and frost.
"Hm." No handles or something to pull on. It was just...like a wall. A smooth blue wall with no way in. Yet it seemed to be the way in. So how would one open a door with no lock? Demolishing it was an apt answer, but she doubted she could do that. Scale the tower? There were a few black flying creatures around that seemed to be watching her, too. Perhaps she could somehow get one of them to fly her up?
"Heeeey!" She shouted up. "Black bat-flying thing! What ya doing up there?" At first they didn't seem to acknowledge her, simply perch themselves on the stonework of the library. However, something heavy landed behind her, flinging a bit of snow into the air and causing her to swiftly turn around and nearly fall over. "...well you're big-" Before she could get another word in, the creature grabbed her by her wrist, lifting her off the ground. It studied her curiously in a mildly unsettling fashion. Any other human probably would have been screaming by now, but Lazhira simply felt mild amusement. "Heeey there. You think you could maybe fly me up to that balcony up there?"
The creature tilted its head curiously. It hadn't seen this human before. It didn't have to take an order from it, did it? Yet it oddly felt compelled too. In fact, this human felt kind of familiar to it. It didn't know why, and it certainly didn't care to question it. So instead it grabbed her by her other wrist, lifting her up to its shoulders to let her sit on it. With a powerful flap of its wings, it rocketed off, covering the distance to the fifth floor in a matter of seconds.
"Gah! For the love of knowledge!" Lazhira was then roughly tossed off the things shoulders, nearly face planting the tough, course grass on the balcony. The black winged creature didn't stick around, choosing to immediately fly off again and let the human figure out what she was going to do from here herself. "Urgh, well thanks anyways!"
"...Ah. Little La-Zha?" An amused voice caught her attention as she dusted off some snow from her furs. "Hee! You're earlier than expected! Joyous! Wonderful! Ah and here I was thinking you were Hayim or Dirka, but a pleasant surprise visit indeed! Normally I hate those..." Standing before her, was Iva. The god of Knowledge in all of their radiant glory. No glamours or masks to hide them this time.
"Lord...Iva?"
"Who else! Tee-hee! Come come, you must be freezing! Lets get you into the library proper and get your tiny mortal self some food! You must be tired...ah, Bryyre isn't with you?"
"Ah," La-Zha giggled. "He was a great help, but he wasn't cut out for it. It was great for study though! I never knew a human body had so many bones or organs! I should find some more for dissection."
"...heh!" Iva patted the human girl on the head, leading her towards the door to the Library. "Good, good! We are pleased! You'll find your way easily enough! The Library will help you with that." Turning around and leaving her at the door, the god returned to his previous position in the middle of the balcony. "Now I must wait! How boring! Droll! Annoying! Dirka and Hayim could really stand to not keep a god waiting!"
The creature seemed entirely unfazed by Apolios' radiance. After all, it would have considered its own creator far more so if it had the capability to consider such things. But alas, the Aho'Nohg lacked such capabilities. It was designed to be a messenger, nothing more and nothing less. It could only complete the tasks it was given. Even so, the creature was not without wariness or caution. It knew dealing with the gods of Light and Order may not be entirely healthy for it.
A sharp, brief chirp was heard coming from the creatures faceless visage in response to the gods irritable seeming nature. Producing a scroll from its claw, it handed it over to Apolios.
"Hyperion! Apolios! Whichever one of you finds this, I do hope you are doing well! You hardly ever come for a visit! Hee, I should feel offended if I weren't so preoccupied! We could dance, sing, have a rousing round of 'See who can make Hayim cry first!'...ah wait, no. That's what I play with Anu. Ahem, anyways! Brothers! My radiant kin! Grossly incandescent ball of light! I've written today for a little proposition from me and little brother Gammy. You see, he wishes to make an assembly of sorts! I have decided to throw my lot in with you beings of order - funny, I know! The unexpected of still is causing me to laugh like the mad god I am! He wanted me to pass along a message to the both of you! So whoever one of you gets this, do inform the other and any other gods that may wish to participate! Ta-ta for now lovelies! Do stop by for a tea party at some point! It shall be wondrously enlightening!"
With the letter handed over, the black creature waited for Apolios' reply.
Circling above the mountains, the spire loomed. It seemed as though things were dying down, or at least coming to their culmination. Likely by now some of the other gods had noticed the few black winged creatures silently observing from a distance. They're connection to a god wouldn't immediately be obvious, though they could easily make a few guesses. There were only so many gods that would have likely made something so grotesquely mutated from its original form.
It had been tasked with delivering a letter to Nerpalgius, though finding the God of Diseases was easier said than done - but after receiving a communication from one of its kin that something was happening and he could likely find the god here, it swiftly made its way over, and it seemed as though he was in luck. It didn't take long before the faceless creature found the god. It landed heavily behind Nerplagius before he left, a loud screech announcing its presence.
quickly, it produced a letter and handed it to the God.
"Brother Nerplagius! How fare thee this fine day, hm? Made any new diseases lately? Hee, we should get together and put our respective heads together at some point! We could create quite the nasty thing together, with my mind and your sciences, hee! But alas, I'm writing today for some rather un-fun news regarding brother Gammy. You see, he's making quite the annoying little assembly of gods. How droll. Boring. Detestable. Ah if I wasn't so drawn by the potential things I could learn being part of such a thing I'd invite him to see the experiment halls! Hehe! We both know how'd that go for him! Anyways, do reply whether you'd want to be a part of it. I will not try overly hard to convince you. Ta-ta for now!
