Bio

Hello! Welcome to my little bio.

Not much to say, really. Just a horror game protag that likes writing and playing vidya games when I'm not being chased by the cosmic forces of darkness. (I'm a security guard that works night shifts usually).

Have some dancing medjed.

It's fine now, of course otherwise I would have already said something. But Iva can't have her continuously popping in and out of existence like that. Eventually the Library is going to gain some defenses against that sort of thing and she won't be able too. That's all I'm saying.
Right and a post. Suppose maybe I should make a small CS for Lazhria at some point since she'll be a fairly important little demigod mortal quite soon.

@Dealdric
Hope you weren't expecting to always be poof into locations in the library like that, heh.

@jetipster
Just to make sure I understand, but from your posts it looks like you're currently heading to the Library?

~~The Illuminator~~

Location:
Cy'Lathak

@Dealdric@Duoya

The human sized creature, incapable of emotion as it was as Iva had removed such things might have seemed grateful, but in reality it was simply a facade. A fake. A sham to seem as such to complete its task faster. As such any emotional response seen by Dirka was nothing more than manipulation. Perching on her shoulder however, was difficult. It was the size of a human, after all - but perhaps Dirka wasn't human sized in this case? Either way, they all ended up back in Iva's library in a swift manner.

Right in front of a very surprised Lahzria.

"...ah?" The human had seemed to have found its way to the main chamber, where Iva's throne was. She stared at Drika and Hayim for a few seconds before grinning excitedly. "Dirka, right! And Hayim! I recognize you from the books!" Several scrolls and books were splayed out on the table, open on various different topics starting with the other gods and Iva's current knowledge on them. "Oh wow, I didn't think I'd meet both of you today either!" She giggled, still wearing her bloodied furs, obviously not having bothered to clean up. Before Hayim could reply however, the black winged creature picked Hayim up in its claws, and headed for the exit, leading the plant god up the stairs and towards the top floor where Iva was. If Dirka tried to follow, she'd find the wall above the doorway slamming shut, preventing her from following directly.

It seemed like the Library didn't want her to follow, and it'd probably disallow her free access and teleportation within if she tried meaning she'd need far more energy than normally to do so, if she was capable of doing it at all.

"Hey hey, Lady Dirka!" Lahzria energetically walked over to the goddess. A few books had decided that since they were done with, to flutter off and find their proper resting places within the library. "You can teach me magic right?" She didn't bother explaining who she was, why she was here, or anything else. "Or something. Lord Iva probably wouldn't mind."

Meanwhile the Aho'Nohg carried Hayim all the way up to the top of the tower, where the balcony and the field of small grass was situated. The view was likely considered breathtaking by most, but for Iva it seemed nothing more than an average occurrence. Hayim would find the Illuminator shooing away another messenger, just having delivered Nerplagius' response.

"Ah! Brother Hayim!" The black skinned creature let Hayim down, placing him upon the edge of the coarse, tough grass before flying off. "Such a pleasure to see you! If you couldn't tell from my message my heart, it aches!" With a dramatic flourish, placing the back of his hand upon his head he twirled in a mildly comical manner. "My soul it cries! My body shrieks with sadness! Such a tiring, bland realm this is! Oh every day all I see is nothing but endless cold and empty minds." Twirling back over to Hayim, Iva held out a hand, the white flower Drika gifted him earlier held out in his hand.

"Hayim, you are the only one who can cure the sadness. Make me a wonderful forest here. A place where I can frolic through fields of these flowers, admire nature in all of its beauty!"

@jetipster
The messenger showed no response to Svieands mutterings or words, merely moving mechanically along. It seemed unfazed by the coat, though it realized like this it could complete its task without freezing. It had delivered the letter, now it just needed a response. It merely traveled silently, watching the events happening with impatience. It needed a reply and it needed to return swiftly to inform his lord. It flew silently along, above them, occasionally letting out a low shriek but for the most part watching and waiting.

~Chieko Okawa~

Hero's District, Priestella
death count 1

After waiting for what seemed like agonizingly long moments, Chieko was finally escorted out of the interrogation room and was reunited with the others. It seemed like all of their meetings had gone well too. Good, that was good, wasn't it? Aside from Yuuki's it seemed. Unknowingly under the effect of some cultist magic? Seemed a little odd, but wasn't any of her business right now. She walked over, picking up her visitors pass and carefully inspecting it as Yuuki said something about working for the guard.

That was a good idea, wasn't it? She could do it, too! In fact, that'd probably be a good way to get on the fast track to fame and heroism, hah! A good occupation for herself. Better than cleaning houses or working in a medical facility, that was certain. Taking the pass and putting it inside of her coat, Chieko turned to face Mono, prepared to ask the same exact question - that is until Flame said something to her.

"...what...?" For the briefest of instant, Chieko's face turned into one of surprise and uncertainty. Mean looks? Was she giving them mean looks? She had been giving them disapproving looks because she felt like they were giving too much information, or were being too candid but she hadn't been doing it with ill intent. An uncomfortable feeling welled up in the pit of her stomach. She didn't do anything bad, did she? She was just...Chieko pulled her scarf over her mouth, hiding her wavering expression. Shoving some unpleasant memories out of her head, she quickly turned her head, closing one of her eyes.

"Mean?" Having regained control a bit, she let the scarf fall, her mouth curling upwards into a smile as she continued in an almost overbearingly painful haughty manner. "The mean one is you, making me endure that face of yours. If you two sickening lovebirds think that was mean, you're nothing but children." She turned her gaze over to Aki, needlessly brushing a strand of hair out of her face. "Have fun doing the grunt work for the guard, you fools. Everyone knows the guards are always the bad guys. Meanwhile, I'll be busy making myself into something worthwhile." Quickly moving from Ashton and Flame, Chieko practically ran over to Aki.

"Aki-chan~" Before Aki had a chance to respond, Chieko grabbed her and pulled her into a rather aggressive hug. It also just so happened Aki's head happened to be perfectly chest level with Chieko. "Aki, you want to show big sis Chieko around the city now?"

Mie Yukima

Golden Quarter

"Oh? What is Fritzi getting up to today, hm? I should visit and we could plan a party together, heh." Mie impishly chuckled. She was vaguely aware of the other merchant, though they didn't interact on a regular basis. Mie was far too busy. Plus with the current social and political climate she was working far harder. Chances were, the humans weren't buying from her simply because she was a demi-human. And the Demi-humans were few and far between. All this violence was bad for business. For normal merchants, at least. Profiting off of it was just a simple game of knowing the right people.

Bandits needed weapons just as much as the local guard.

"Concerned for little 'ole me, though?" The fox gave Donovan a grin. "No need. This little tail of mine knows how to handle itself." She could use a drink too though, come to think of it. She'd have chastised him further, were it not for a small girl holding a picture of Lady Vertti up and asking if they had seen her. Curious. Was this the adventurer hired to find her? Well, Grisaia would be happy she was doing her job.

"Ah...Lady Vertti." She smiled, one of her ears twitching curiously. "A regular client of mine, though I haven't been in town until recently. The rabbit is quite concerned for his beloved mistress." A giggle. "I have to say, I'm a little concerned as well...if only for my business, of course." Mie made sure to get that point across. "She's an excellent client. Likes throwing money and silly foreign baubles and luxuries. If by chance you find her, mind informing me? I can usually be found in the Cham somewhere among the rabble." Glancing over to Mirt and Anyon, Mie quickly concluded they were dangerous individuals. The kind of people that would be exceedingly fun to play with.

"Ara? Friends of yours, Donovan? Should I go say hello?" But before Donovan could even reply or stop her, Mie was already running over to the pair. Mie ran in a circle around them, quickly eyeing them and deciding on a course of action. Doing her best impression of a little kid, the fox continued. "Hey hey, old married couple!" She smiled, stopping in front of them. "You guys wanna see a magic trick?"
Annnd introduction for Elizabeth.

Lets see how well Gordon handles her.
~Elizabeth~

Squelch

"Ugh, filthy..."

Pulling her boot out of the muddy puddle, Elizabeth gave a small grimace. The dreary day outside was no consequence. The city of Ravenport was always like this. The coast it was built on seemed to always have near constant rain. There was an odd calmness to it, really, and if she was doing anything other than walking through it, she was quite sure she'd be relaxing to the sound of rain on the window with some tea. What was of consequence however, was that she was walking. Walking. With just an admittedly well made cloak to protect her from the rain. Pathetic that's what that was. If anyone from her old life saw her, she'd be a laughing stock.

"Working at some shady detective agency no less..." The noblewoman muttered quietly. Had she a choice, she'd be doing anything but this. She wasn't someone who should have too. Chase down criminals, crawl through mud and muck to reach a goal. No, that was what her maids, attendants, and subordinates were for. Or at least, they would have, had she any left. At least what she was being told to do was somewhat easy and up her alley. She was nothing, if not studious about her objectives and goals. She read the files backwards, forwards, and asked Rolfe about the temperaments of each people involved to get a general idea of their attitudes.

She did not have confidence this could be resolved quickly and cleanly after what she had been told, that much was certain.

By now, Elizabeth had reached the waterfront, stopping for a moment on the docks to look out over the sea. Smelled like fish, and would otherwise be fairly picturesque in the melancholic gloomy way. Hm, perhaps when she had her titles and fortunes returned she'd commission a painting? Idle thought. Back on the task at hand. Making her way along the dock, eyeing one of her destinations in the distance. A ship by the name of the Bloated Barge. A rather detestable looking den of degenerates and lowlifes, also known as a tavern. An establishment she'd normally not be caught dead in. She'd head there after the Crabbyshack pub and getting the details from Merkle. As long as she kept a level head this should be easy enough to deal with some unruly plebs.

"Nothing you can't handle Eliza..." Finally reaching her destination, Elizabeth looked up at the sign hanging above the door. One of her 'colleagues' should be here soon, but she'd only wait for a few moments before heading inside and taking care of this herself.
In that case, for the sake of not having everyone go to the same place who's going where? I'll probably Eliza check out those dead shrimp.
Oh wew

This is actually starting.

Color me impressed. Nice intro, too.

So how we starting, exactly?
@Dealdric

Feel free to drag both the messenger and Hayim through then, if that's fine with Duoya. A bit busy on my end, so I'll probably have a post up either tomorrow night or the tuesday so might be a bit faster if you do it.

@Lucius Cypher

A she got up to leave, her eyes locked with that girl once more. Livia couldn't help but to frown deeply at the girl. Now that the suddenness of the entire situation wore off, she was considerably less frightened. In fact, she was rather curious about potentially speaking with the girl in question - but the time for that passed. Livia followed after the group, staying near Darc. It was annoying she couldn't see in Underhaven, so she'd at least have to trust them to lead her out of this place without getting herself lost.

"Well, Darc," Livia replied. "While the resin is used for recreation, it does have the potential to be used as a focus for certain spells. In this case, I assume she intends to use it to help with the attunement of a familiar." A logical conclusion, considering this entire business with the ruins as well as the needing to acquire a soul for her the dagger. It would be best not to mention the other items she had been gathering for the spider, either. No need to go around spreading rumors without reason. "So while those Orcs may use it for recreation, they are certainly not using it to its full potential." Though she couldn't say she didn't understand the need for such things to relax. Not that she'd do it herself - but her father was a connoisseur of such things, as he put it.

As the conversation died down, Livia turned her head towards the sound of Katherine and Selena. It was easy to find them, even in the darkness. Selena's eyes shone like beautiful sapphires in the darkness. Livia might have even said so, had the obvious inhuman woman not been so quick to utterly ignore her. Eavesdropping was usually considered impolite, but she couldn't trust Katherine not to do something incredibly stupid, and it was always good to at least on some level have a general idea of events. Besides, Selena wasn't exactly being very subtle or quiet.

"To put it simple, I’m gathering a team. I don’t expect all of them to come fully equipped or talented with any particular skills. I’m not so greedy and spoilt to expect so much out of nothing. But what I do want is potential. And I can see potential in you, Katherine, even if you don’t. Especially since you don’t realize what you could do, with guidance and practice. And I’ll be more than happy to teach you… Should you choose to believe in me, who believes in you.”

If it was possible to hear the sound of someones mental faculties snapping, they'd have completely drowned out the pairs conversation.

As Livia walked, her mouth curled slightly downwards into a frown. What...what was this dullard saying? Katherine? Potential? A team of some sort? Certainly, Livia would agree that Katherine certainly had some talent. Livia wouldn't have bothered even trying to teach her step sister if she wasn't. Hells, even if she wasn't she'd probably have done it. That was undeniable - but compared to herself? To her hard work, studies, and countless hours reading and studying! Even going so far as to attempt trying something most more advanced spell casters would even have trouble with! The idea in and of itself was absurd. It was laughable, even! If it wasn't so infuriating she'd have laughed!

And yet here she was, completely ignored. Ignored and obviously considered nothing more than useless or a burden? Something to be swept quietly away, locked in her room until dear old mother just decided to get rid of her!? Just because she wasn't special? Didn't carry the magic of her family, and wasn't 'pretty' enough to warrant parading around like a doll?! Her eyes, fixated on Selena for just a moment. If she had been younger, she'd probably have done something, but growing up under her mothers thumb quickly made her learn one thing - such acts of emotion got a person nowhere.

Livia folded her hands behind her as she walked, gripping them together tightly.

She was getting worked up over nothing. Nothing. She couldn't let herself be so agitated. It was quite likely Selena was just trying to butter up Katherine. She'd do the same. And probably say the same, too if she were in Selena's place. Still, the whole part about her being completely ignored this entire time by the woman and so obviously brushed aside...infuriating, even if she was completely used to it. If Selena was blind to real talent, hard work, and prestige instead of a coddled fool who's only talent was getting into trouble chasing after the nearest cute girl...fine. So be it. It didn't concern her, nor did she care.

"Anyways...Darc," Livia said after a minute or so of walking. Her voice betrayed no hint of her irritable or otherwise angry thoughts, continuing in a friendly tone. "Should I find you back in that tavern or will you be delivering it to me?" She needed to know so she could at least make plans. If he got it to her first thing tomorrow, then she could continue with the soul gem and the bull.
