Crisis: Mars! - A super power RP

"Welcome to Mars! We do hope you enjoy your stay with us here-"

Mars, the year 2200. First we went to Mars, colonized the moon and then we went even further and colonized Mars. Terraformed it ot the best of our ability so that at the very least a mask wouldn't be necessary when venturing outside. Though watch your step, gravity isn't as strong as it is on Earth and there is a constant stream of immigrants not everyones body is adjusted, only those whose families have lived for several generations upon Mars have adjusted making everyone super strong by comparison and giving them the ability to leap tremendous distances.

Though this is all normal and the problems faced with setting up a colony on another world. What isn't normal is what in the future will be called the Mars Incident. The cause hasn't been discovered if their is a cause but people throughout Mars seemingly at random have been gaining extra-ordinary powers beyond that of normal humans. Mutating into so much more, some of these side effects are visably obvious in terms of physical changes however some adjust only the inner workings of a person. Telekinesis, telepathy, the ability to create fire all these abilities have been documented and so much more and it has become a threat. While at first this was seen as spectacle someone loosing control, or going mad, with power changed everything. Now powered people are hunted, imprisoned and the entire planet is under quarantine. Though there are mysteirous goings on behind the scene, as the investigation continues....

So basically I wanted to take a spin on the typical Super-Hero RP. Set on a mars colony, depicted above and yet to be named we will be playing either individuals who have been imprisoned due to having powers, people just discovering their powers or even non-powered people either helping those with powers or leading the investigation. Both those with powers and the Government authority want to know what is going on and why this is happening. Whether they want to stop it, cure it or replicate it is yet to be seen. More importantly, will freedom be earned? If so, how will life be changed?

Tadia chimed in. "I'm going down to the planet. We need medical supplies and Slooga is terrible for picking out actual medical supplies that can do some good and spends most of the money on drugs instead." She shrugged waiting for the obvious You're not going on this mission thing. "Truth be told you will also need a medic for if things go awry, or should I say when things go awry. You can send a MD droid or another one of the medics but I have the most skill, I can save lives faster in tougher spots and even care for a Hutt if need be."

She took out her datapad and began working on her shopping list. "Anything else?"

know what, when we were conceiving of the mission in the first place, we were thinking about smuggling in some medical supplies. Maybe that's Slooga's business? Or else trading some weapons to get supplies, and you could be there to confirm the quality? Either way that wouldn't be something Byron would brief up (or even necessarily like, but he'd have to go along with it).

My background is Air Force, so it's easy for me to overlook field medics. Don't let me slip up like that again, lol.

Well I was looking at joining the military for a while, now I'm not. But field medic was one of the things I was looking at.

I'd bring it up with Serossa IC. Byron isn't really going to know where to put you anyway, he (and I, ahem) are used to working where the medics work in the sick bay. But you can pretty much write your own ticket.... Slicing detail is probably riskier, and theoretically they want a smaller detail so they can stay under the radar, but they're also (in theory at least) more likely to run into a firefight, so maybe it makes sense to head that way. The bulk of the forces (possibly meaning all the un-played nameless Liberator drone people, if everyone decides they'd rather slice) are going to be with Slooga. Essentially wherever you want to go is fine (that goes for everybody, really)

Well most military units do have combat medics, Tadia has essentially become that. I mean she's important for having Doctor training to the Liberators but at the same time she usually ends up in the field as they need a medic :P

I could end up writing a ticket with Slooga with everyone else making up needing to go finding supplies.

Tadia laughed again. "Alcohol on an Ex-Pirate ship? Well. That's just a recipe for disaster. Alcohol only on shore leave, except the stuff I have in here for cleaning wounds." She pointed to a locked cabinet. "And even then I need to keep an eye on it that it doesn't go missing." She sighed as the droid went around the room, banging into things as he did so, after a couple of attempts at circumventing a bed he rocketed up into the air hitting the ceiling before falling back down, flat on his back. "I did tell you he couldn't see, right?" She winced as he sparked slightly, he was pretty much toast.

"I think Iggy might be a longer term project than you had hoped he would be and what I would hope he would be." She eyed around the room, as if saying something that was secret and she shouldn't say. "Between you and me, I think he's the only other doctor other than me." Then she stopped. "Well, that's actually true. Well, he's not a Doctor but he has the same training. I mean there are plenty of medics around." She grabbed her jacket in a show of pride. "But I'm a doctor, got my diploma somewhere... though I can't remember where I put it. The Hutt probably sold it for alcohol or something, I don't know." Her chrono beeped. "Though the mystery of the missing Doctorate will have to wait for another time, briefing time."
