Tony could hear the reporters talking amongst themselves in the room just through the door. Pepper stood in the corner shooting daggers at him, he couldn't blame her. She had been against this idea from the outset, ever since he returned from captivity she had known that something was going on. If he had a dollar for every time she had almost caught him in the suit he would be an even richer man than he was now. She was against this conference, though that was largely as Tony hadn't told anyone what it was actually about. They all had their theories, Obadiah Stane stood in the other corner a smile in his eyes, albeit not on his face. Obadiah had his own suspicions about what this meeting was about, suspicions that would make him and the board very happy people. Tony sighed, tapping the miniature arc reactor that resided in his chest. A constant reminder of the world he had helped create. A world where his weapons weren't used to protect, but to destroy.

It seemed like the vicious cycle was doomed to continue. Five years ago the Iron Man had entered the scene. Tackling terrorist and criminal elements across the world that were misusing Stark Industries technology for their own gains, technology that Tony was still trying to trace to who had sold it. Shutting down the R&D and production of Weapons systems was supposed to cut these groups off at the source. Five years later he still seemed to be coming across weapons, and variants of weapons he had designed years ago. Prototypes that hadn't even made it into production. Now someone had made a cheap knockoff of the Iron Man suit. Not nearly as sophisticated as the real deal, but still powerful enough that it was tearing the country apart.

Tony walked over to the double door and sighed, placing one hand on either door he stood up straight and pushed his way through. Smiling as there was a flash of cameras, people went quiet as he walked in. Pepper on his left, the good angel. Obadiah on his right, the devil. Walking straight forward to the podium he flashed a smile as he tapped the microphone, feedback going through the room for a moment before he spoke. "Alright everyone. Please be seated." He cleared his throat as holographic images appeared behind him.

“It has come to my attention that there have been reports of Iron Men in Trasnia. In the previous weeks the extremist rebels have been using Stark Industries technology, and have now come out using a variant of the Iron Man suit. A suit that many have assumed is my technology.” He paused, clearing his throat. “I can now confirm-” Tony could feel the eyes of Obadiah and Pepper burning into his back. “-That the hero known as Iron Man is an employee of Stark Industries.” He was almost blinded as all the cameras in the room started to flash, reporters trying to shout over each other to try and gain his attention. He raised his hand to silence them, raising his voice slightly over the din. “You know if you guys won’t let me talk you may as well go home-”

Tony smirked as the reporters managed to compose themselves.. “-Thankyou, in order to preserve the peace, and ensure lasting security of our assets I have filed patents for the technologies that make up the Iron Man suit. I am also resuming development of Stark Weapons technologies, with an exclusive S.H.I.E.L.D contract with a focus on protecting people from advanced and enhanced individuals, because let's be honest not everyone checks the patent office before robbing a bank..”

There was a thunderous noise, and a clang as the Iron Man suit landed kneeling beside him. Coming through a hole in the roof. Standing up straight there was a round of applause as the suit stood there. The programming hadn’t been simple. Trying to get the suit to work while being run solely by Jarvis and without a pilot wasn’t as easy as he had hoped it would be, being that it was designed as a suit and not a drone so the parts didn’t work the same. “Finally as a warning to those who pervert my technology. I’m Tony freaking Stark, I’ve been near bankruptcy. Declared dead, captured and imprisoned. You don’t scare me, lay down my weapons. Lay down all your weapons, and if not-” he slapped his hand onto the shoulder of the Iron Man suit, clasping it. “-I’m sending my friend here for you.”

The suit turned around and started walking out. Tony pulled a pair of sunglasses from his pocket, placing the on his face. “No questions.” He then turned and followed the suit.

Wanted to go ahead and get this out. Will work on the Sample Post once I get back home. Also, @Sep as you are Iron Man wanted to ask your thoughts on something. Canonically, when Scott gets out of prison he gets a job at Stark Industries. I didn't wanna make that decision without consulting you so what are your thoughts?

In this story of Hawkeye and Ant-Man I will be starting at the very beginning of their heroic life. Clint Barton's early life will be exactly the same. He even still chooses to emulate Iron Man by dressing up and using his skills to fight crime. Unfortunately for him, the police mistook him for another weirdly dressed up thief. He tries to write this misconception but is found by Batroc who blackmails him using the information of Clint's time with Tiboldt's Circus. Batroc brings him and a few others together in order to steal the Seismo-Bomb.

Scott Lang's life up to this point is also very similar. About a month after being released from prison, Scott's daughter Cassie was diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition. Between the money that Scott and his ex-wife were making they couldn't muster up the cash to pay for medical bills. Desperate to help his daughter Scott turned back to crime. He lied saying that he simply received a pay raise and in the meantime, they have been able to pay for medical bills. But one night coming back from a haul Scott is confronted by Batroc who desires the use of Scott's skills. At first, Scott refuses but Batroc shows him pictures of Scott breaking into various places effectively blackmailing Scott into helping Batroc and a few others in stealing the Seismo-Bomb.

During the heist, both Clint and Scott realize the other doesn't want to go through with this, and over the course of events, the two stop the heists alerting those who had the bomb of the villain's presence. The police eventually show up but Batroc gets away while the rest of his crew get arrested including Scott. He tells them that Batroc was threatening him but as he is an ex-convict they don't believe him. Clint works to find proof but can't find any. Scott is eventually let out on bail which his ex-wife, Maggie, pays for and which was only posted as he did help get the others caught. Maggie doesn't know if she believes Scott and despite helping him out if threatening to fight for full custody of her.

The two both know that since Batroc escaped it was likely that he'd be coming for them. Scott also reinvigorates his desire to clean up his act. So, in the meantime, they decide to team up to watch each other's backs as well as using what they know to help people and maybe figure out who hired Batroc.

Both Clint and Scott are thieves with hearts of gold. They want to help people but because of their pasts, they keep getting dragged into various messes that alone neither would be able to get themselves out of. I've always thought that the small parallels between the two was quite interesting but never really thought much of it until now.

I have always thought a pairing of these two would be quite interesting as they are both loud-mouthed numbskulls with no powers yet do what they can despite themselves for the greater good. The first story arc they have will involve Batroc and they will be trying to figure out who hired him. Along the way, they will do battle with various low-tier villains slowly uncovering the over-arching story as they go along just like the CW. I have more 'season' ideas planned out but for now the plan of season one for "Hawkeye and the Ant" starts here.

Clint Barton

Hawkeye himself. As a child, Clint and his brother Barney had it rough. Their father was an alcoholic who'd occasionally get rough. Barney would teach Clint how to fight and helped him improve his aim. When they were young both of their parents died and the boys would go from foster home to foster home until they encountered and subsequently joined a circus. As a member of the circus, Clint would hone his skills as an archer and would eventually be brought in to the crime side of the circus joining them in various crimes. He eventually grew to hate being a criminal and then one day he saw a news report of the hero Iron Man. It struck some inspiration in him and that's his story.

Scott Lang

Scott Lang was born and raised in Coral Gables, Florida, the son of Bob Lang. He later became an electronic engineer and met and married Maggie Rae. Together they had a daughter Cassandra "Cassie" Lang. Although he was an electronics expert he could not support his family doing repair work, so he turned his talents to burglary. Apprehended, he served his prison sentence and was paroled for good behavior. During his time in prison, however, Maggie divorced him. Lang had furthered his studies of electronics while in prison and once he got out somehow found a job as an electrician_{Wanted to ask Sep about this as canonically the job Scott gets is for Stark Industries but I will leave that decision up to you Sep}. Soon after, his daughter fell ill will a terrible heart disease. After this is where the story will happen.

Maggie Rae

The ex-wife of Scott Lang and mother of Cassie Lang. Maggie and Scott met in college and they had a very stereotypical romance. After college, they got married and had Cassie. When Maggie discovered that Scott had resorted to stealing she tried to get him to stop. When he was arrested she was hurt that he didn't listen to her. She divorced him but wouldn't do anything to try and separate Scott and Cassie and once he got out she willingly let Cassie stay with him every other week. However, after this recent arrest, she says she is going to fight to take full custody if he doesn't stop committing crimes.

Cassie Lang

Cassie Lang is the daughter of Scott and Peggy. Despite what Scott does she still adores him. Largely in part to the fact that he's the quote-unquote, nice parent. She does genuinely get along with him better tending to have a lot of similar likes and personality traits. Recently she has been afflicted with a congenital heart condition and has to take medication in between waiting for her parents to be able to afford surgery. She often has to stay at the hospital in case her situation becomes worse.

I mean I see no real problem with it. Stark Industries is a massive organisation, ex cons aren't a problem for me. My question is about Hawkeye and Iron Man as his motivation. Iron Man has been active five years. A little longer than other heroes but he has exclusively been seen taking out arms dealers, if you're okay with that then sure.

“Sometimes you gotta run, before you can walk.”

Tony Stark is who he always was. A genius, and a bit of a playboy. Born into riches with the company his father, Howard Stark, founded. His father always recognised the natural ability that his son had for the sciences. Knew that he would surpass him one day. Tony attended all the best schools, narrowly avoiding being kicked out of several of them. Despite his genius level intellect he held a natural rebellious side against the authority figure, be it someone within the educational system or his own father. His vices changed as the times went by, when as a child he was rebellious in nature when it came to his work. Tony was said to possess a negative attitude, he would perform tasks without thinking about the consequences of his actions. A laid back attitude to his learning. Then the unthinkable happened.

Fifteen years old his father and mother left on a business trip, the plane crashed killing them both. Obidiah Stane, a longtime family friend and the second man in the company took on the role of being Tonys guardian and would run the company until Tony turned 21. At the age of twenty one the company would cede ownership to Tony who would then become CEO. As he continued through the ages his prowess with technology advanced, while not technically CEO of the company he worked in conjunction with the R&D department, focusing on electronics and computer systems he developed several key technologies that were later developed for use by S.H.I.E.L.D, the US Government, NATO and several other high end organisations. It was during this time that Tony created what would become one of his few true friends. J.A.R.V.I.S, also known as Just A Rather Very Intelligent System. J.A.R.V.I.S started simple, but over time he became more complex, being built into all of Tonys house, simpler versions of the system were trademarked and then released as a virtual assistant for business executives.

Age 21 Tony Stark became the CEO of Stark Industries. As he was destined to be. Working within the company Tony brought it forward into the next age, competing with the likes of Palmer Tech, LexCorp and Pym Industries. AS the new age of the Superhero dawned Tony moved forward with assisting the US Government and S.H.I.E.L.D develop properties to combat the rising Metahuman threat, while heroes are in existence Tony understands that precautions needed to take just incase that any of them decide to switch sides. Tony continued to increase his profits, focusing primarily on the weapons development side of Stark Industries. As time went on his fame grew, as well as his infamy at being a weapons dealer and profiting off it. It wasn’t until Tony performed a humanitarian mission in Qurac that his life changed. A terrorist group known as the Ten Rings was making a stand in the country. Unbeknownst to Tony, he had inadvertently assisted them recruit the local populace when mines he had supplied to a S.H.I.E.L.D humanitarian outpost exploded killing refugees, a flaw in the system that had been engineered by someone within Stark Industries. While in Qurac the S.H.I.E.L.D facility was attacked, Tony wounded by his own weapons and presumed dead.

For the next couple of months Tonys life was saved by a local doctor, though shrapnel in chest heart meant that a magnet needed placed in his chest in order to prevent it from entering his heart. Instead of building the weapon that he was being forced to build he instead ended up modifying various technologies of the weapons he had at hand into building what would become the MkI of the Iron Man Suit. Breaking free using the newly christened suit, he left the terrorists lair in flames before spending weeks on the run in Qurac until he eventually returned to the states.

Seeing the conflict, death and suffering he caused Tony shut down the Weapons R&D Department upon returning to his position as CEO. A vastly unpopular move, he had to fight tooth and nail with the board of directors to prove that it was a viable approach. All the while his weapons continued to show up on the black market. Iron Mans work was not done. Four years on Tony has continued to work as his alter ego Iron Man disrupting operations of the Ten Rings all over the world, however is still no closer to discovering the leak within Stark Industries or the elusive Mandarin who is said to lead the terrorist organisation.

Tony Stark isn’t quite the showboater that he is in the MCU. Iron Man is his alter ego, with Tony Stark being his secret identity. In his mind Iron Man is the true him, while Tony is the part he is playing. He performs many of the same things as perform, the parties and the drinking while his heart really isn’t in it anymore. He’s unsure of where to go, and in what direction. He’s going to be searching for the leak in the company and try to fathom what he is going to do next. There’s an adrenaline rush in being Iron Man, but once the Ten Rings is dealt with, does the world need an Iron Man?

Cold sweat dripped down Tonys forehead, skin pale and clammy. Sitting in the corner of his workshop he was staring at empty space before him. Rather the rational part of his brain realised it was an empty space, what he was seeing were bodies. Bodies of women and children, battered, bruised and torn apart by weapons he had designed. Weapons he had built to save people, to make the world a better place. Instead his grand designs had been perverted and twisted by the minds of madmen. There was a chirping, that slowly grew into a klaxon as the lights switched to red indicating an alert. Shaking himself awake he looked over to his workstation where a screen turned itself on. A map of the world opening, a red circle emanating from Central Russia. Standing up Tony could still feel the cold sweat dripping down his forehead, but he could already feel his heart rate increasing. Adrenaline flooding his system, the excitement of what he was about to do. The danger, the thrill.

“Jarvis, what am I looking at?”

The synthetic english accent came over speakers hidden among the workshops walls.

“You told me to alert you to any activity related to the Ten Rings sir. While I would remind you that you have an important meeting with Miss Potts and the board of directors in three hours.”

“I don’t pay you for your opinion Jarvis, what we got?”

“It appears that there is a rally going on to recruit people from outlying villages. I would also remind you that you don’t actually pay me Sir.” Tony walked to the table and read through the details on the map. Kazah. A relatively large city, semi-autonomous in the grand scheme of things. Apparently the Ten Rings felt like they could be a bit more vocal in Russia, not fearing involvement from the West or the mysterious ‘Iron Man’ that had been plaguing them for the last couple of years.

“Ready the suit Jarvis. I’m going on.” The back wall of the workshop spun around, revealing five columns. The first having what was left of his initial suit, each bay holding a slightly more updated and upgraded version. He walked to the one on the far right, the Mark five. He placed his hand on it, the metal cool to the touch. He could see himself reflected in the unpainted armour, the silver of the base material. Shaking his head he instead went for the red and yellow mark four. A smile crossing his face, a genuine smile. This is what he lived for, the rush.

“Jarvis, let Pepper know I’m probably going to be late.”
