Appearance DetailsHer weight is approximately 80 pounds and height is just a bit shorter than average for her age at around 4 foot 9. Her complexion is light and prone to burning from long sun exposure, but her skin isn’t too oily or dry. Her face is free from acne, blemishes and she doesn’t have any tattoos or scars. Her medium-length hair is messy and often knotted. Despite semi-regular attempts to bathe, her hands and fingernails are usually dirty.
Her clothing is wrinkled from sleeping in them and stained from whatever she’d been previously doing or eating. She almost always is wearing her goggles and a large hat that gives her animal ears, being an important memento. Her body language shifts between two states; blissfully inquisitive and sheer boredom. If interested she’ll be leaning in, likely smiling with her eyes sparkling with passion while continuously maintaining eye contact. The latter leads to a slumped and lazy posture, her eyes glazed over and rarely purposely focused on the target of her disinterest.
Most of her visually noticeable behavior comes from the insurmountable task of getting her to stand still. Sitting down the moment she’s not physically active, otherwise fidgeting or pacing in circles to ‘keep her the cogs of her brain turning’. Playing with her hair when she’s nervous or deeply concentrating on a problem.
PersonalityIzabel is considered brilliant for her age and widespread intellectual curiosity has only fueled her toward educating herself further by reading and tinkering with objects. Her hyperactivity leads to constant motion and thought, enabled by a hardworking nature. She’s honest, patient and a bit overly self-critical. She’s generally skeptical and distrusting of strangers and what she doesn’t understand. Soft-spoken and prone to playfully teasing and showing off a boyish side to those she’s fond of.
Filled with stubborn ambition and ready for the thrill of adventure and isn’t afraid of the darkness, which can lead to reckless behavior. Her quirkiness gives her many odd habits. Her singularly focused passion can cause her ignore her surroundings, and unconsciously give people a cold shoulder. Occasionally childish and disobedient to authority figures and believing negative emotion is a weakness, she wouldn’t dare to express anger and sadness around others.
History SynopsisIzabel was born as an only child in a lower class household that had a stump for a family tree. Named after her mother's recently deceased best friend. Having no siblings or close relatives, just her loving parents that spent every penny and moment of their time assuring their daughter would live a more fulfilling life than they did. Both parents coming from neglectful backgrounds; combating this by making her the center of attention.
Being too smart for public schooling, she passed through grades and never really had friends her age. Mostly polite, but keeping to herself, causing her to rarely be sought after by the other children finding her a little too weird. Though even the biggest bullies left her alone. Especially since she tended to be the teacher's favorite student, as she always wanted to learn and stayed out of trouble. She often told her mother and father everything that upset her, and how she didn’t know how to really make any friends. Not including their kind elderly neighbors’ colorful pet parakeets that she’d do homework over there so they could keep her company.
The parents did everything for the daughter, to the point of being detrimental to their own happiness and relationship. Paying for private lessons and tutors that they couldn’t reasonably afford. As debt, bills and marital problems piled up high and became a never-ending burden upon their shoulders. It was ultimately worth it, if she could only live in opulence…but their wishes came true from a cruel and ironic life altering incident that she misremembers strongly. She was having one of the worst days of her life that winter nearing her 9th birthday.
Her favorite teacher retired without saying goodbye. She was beaten up by another student then punished harshly by the school for fighting back. Worst of all, her parents were yelling all day at her, and ignoring her and what she wanted. She couldn’t take it anymore! During rush hour traffic and bad snowy weather, she shouted angrily for attention and threw a tantrum in the back of the car while her parents we’re trying to focus on the road. She saw them both look back at her and try calming her down, when the car suddenly skidded forward and smashed into oncoming speeding car. When she was pried out the car, she wasn’t hurt. But her parents both died in the hospital that day, and it was all her fault...
But what had actually happened was they were already not paying attention and fighting each other all day long, and starting talking about getting a divorce. She cried out and told her parents to please stop fighting, causing them to stop and look back guiltily. Perhaps, on another day and a different timeline, her words would have brought peace...
She wasn’t an orphan for very long, getting adopted the very next day when she turned nine. By an upper-middle class family that had been looking into adoption and heard her story, believing that fate had answered their prayers. Her adopted families generational line was a melting pot. Her father was white, half-Russian and her mother was Japanese. She now had a younger brother named Koushiro.
While she got along, and bonded closely with her brother rather quickly, as they both shared an intense curiosity. She was taking quite a long time truly accepting her new parents. She wasn’t mean-spirited and tried her best, but she kept most of her negative emotions bottled inside. Her random bursts of disobedience were almost for the sake of it. Her new parents trying to be as accommodating as possible, allowing her to go into the father’s workshop in their garage, which she’d spend all her time tinkering with things inside, or going in her mother’s library and choose to read from a vast assortment of books.
As she slowly grew more comfortable and content in her life, the desire for more friends bubbled up in her conversations from time to time. Thinking it would do her some good, they convinced her to go summer camp to meet new people and be away from noisy city life. She was even given a laptop, so she'd always have something to keep her mind busy. Her younger brother was also going somewhere with more people in his age group. So this would be the first time she had time away from her new family...
And so, a new journey began...
