I'll be going on a two week vacation starting tomorrow and don't know how often I'll have Internet access. Thank you for your patience. I'll try to be more regular when I get back.
So seeing the Wing Zero, I assume non UC mobile suits are acceptable? That being said, I'd like to ask if it would be okay to submit a Zeon character who pilots the following suit (my own creation!)
Because it is technically a Gundam, I suppose it would have to be stolen? Are the federation still experimenting on Newtypes? Because that might be a good origin for my character and how they acquired a funnel-heavy MS, and were liberated by Fukushu Zeon.
While Lans bowing was a bit of a cultural faux pas, the other orcs took it in stride, having received plenty of bows from non-orcs, and having given some in return so as not to offend.
"Lord Hannery? West of Men?" Councillor Graft asked, realizing a bit of Lans upbringing, "Councillor Bron Silversmith will be the best person to ask concerning the whereabouts of human noblemen. Other than that, if he lives, then seeking him out in Omega is as good a place to start as any. As for your next two requests, there isn't much time before you and the other accursed are expected to set out, and my men are busy protecting the surrounding lands. Any training you might receive in a few days from a pre-occupied mentor would probably do little to help. As for the rite..." Graft shudders a bit, remembering his own, "An adult undergoing the rite is rare, yes, it should be more painful that a child's rite, but care must be taken to not kill the rite-goer. There is no shaman in the City of Light who who could organize such a rite, even orc children born since the calamity have had their rites postponed. if you seek to undergo the rite, you would be better served to seek a shaman in Sarm's Tears. But perhaps, we can partially fulfill your third, as well as your fourth request. When you set out, a host of escorts will accompany you and the other accursed. A few from among my ranks have volunteered for the mission. Seek out their captain, Tandrik. She can train you along your journey, and teach you our ways."
When Lans dropped to his knees, the whole tent blustered, with a few guards reaching over to lift him back to his feet. Orcs bowed often enough out of formality to the other races, but kneeling was a different matter. Graft had a quaint, amused look on his face, betraying his childish sense of humor, but one of his advisors glared and the child regained his composure. Clearing his throat, Graft added, "An orc only kneels when dead. Stand tall and stand proud, Lans the Ghukzoul, and welcome back to the fold."
Councillor Gudrun scowled at Rehsif's final question, and leaned back in her seat. "I am a politician and a businesswoman. I leave pondering about faith and the gods to those more inclined to do so, so it strikes me as ironic that on this point I have more understanding than some of the other councillors. There is a certain degree of mystery and liberation, to leave decisions up to matters beyond your control. Like casting lots, or gambling, there is a randomness, or fate if you prefer, in the outcome. Some might try to influence your decision, but we councillors agreed to leave the decision up to the accursed themselves: you and the other three, something, that should be beyond our control. This was something the gods themselves decided. Ironic isn't it? The gods themselves leaving it up to fate? Don't tell the harpy councillor I said that, he'd hang me for a witch. So there you have it. If you're dead set on going to Thromburg first, you'll have to convince your fellows that that is the rational choice. Or perhaps, they will convince you of another route? Whatever you choose, your escort will follow."
He saw Victor and Michel parked at the same table, and decided to head over there. Then he noticed Michel was in a straitjacket. He knew the world was at stake, but the idea of child soldiers still rubbed him the wrong way. Still, it wasn't like complaining to the higher-ups would get him anywhere, and, well, Prometheon was already built. It wasn't like he could just undo that.
So he decided to stay friendly. "Hey guys," he said to the pair as he sat down across from Victor, with his plate piled high with food. He looked to Michel and asked, "Another test?" As was usual, he fidgeted from time to time over the course of the conversation. This time, his feet were shifting under the table, as if unsure where they should go.
"Yeah!" Michel replied, as if there was nothing wrong with a child attempting to have breakfast in a straight-jacket. A few moments further into breakfast, an alarm rang out, calling all members to their stations. Michel shot up out of his seat, only to lose balance and tip over, hitting the ground, hard. "Ow-uh!" he called out complaintively, as he commanded the drone to undo his restraints. Once freed, he ran over with Victor and Jack towards the hangar and headed into Sumarbrandr, firing up the helicopter. Openeing comms he announced, "I'll launch first and scout it out, maybe harass it a bit and keep it occupied." With that, Sumarbrandr lifted off and flew in the general direction to intercept the monster's path.
Din heard the Master's quip, but Michael handed her a weapon that looked like a crossbow, but without the bow part. As the approaching machines got caught in her ice trap, Din attempted to fire upon them with the weapon she had just received. The trigger was stuck. Puzzled, Din looked the weapon over in confusion, unsure why it wasn't working. Did it need a bolt? Where was the string? What Din didn't know was that guns had a 'safety', but in her moment of preoccupation in getting the thing to work, the team had lost their advantage, the machines moving out of the ice. Hearing the master call out for help, Din looked up, realizing that they were already best upon. One slicer knocked the currently useless uzi from her hands, but she used the momentum and her dancer's instincts to fall to the ground and roll to safety, nimbly picking up her two other weapons, the Rod of Ages and her keyblade, Charm Equinox. Righting herself she looked around. The Master of Masters seemed to be successfully defending himself from his attackers for the time being, whereas Agoston had been pounced on. Still, Michael seemed to be in the most compromising position, but then shots rang out from the direction of the larger group, hitting the slicer attacking Michael, and Din could see the man in the leather hat running their way. Din felt that helping Agoston seemed like the next best course of action, but leaving the two attacking her unoccupied might spell trouble, especially if they attacked Michael or ganged up on the master of masters. In the end, she decided to trust Agoston, who seemed to be a seasoned warrior, to handle his opponent. Turning to the two she had just rolled away from, she cast the spell of winter beneath their feet and made to strike them with the keyblade, attempting to rain blows down upon them with both rod and blade and dancing her way out of their strikes.
I'll get a response for Lans up soon. He is asking a lot, so they're going to try to assign a mentor to join him on the journey. I gave the party 'a few days roughly' ie. 1 or 2, to prepare, but when everyone's ready to move on, we will.
βOphelia Minovska, reporting for duty. I will do my utmost, despite my ineptitude. If you'll have me, please allow me to be your tactical coordinator.β
Personal Dossier
Name
Ophelia "Clumsy Oaf" Minovska
Age
20
Gender
Female
Origin
Volk Odin, Wolf 1061 System
Appearance
Ophelia has a great physique by conventional beauty standards, though she keeps it hidden with, muted, modest, or professional garments, such as combat fatigues. Prim and well-kept, some would describe her appearance as disciplined and meticulous, yet simple, efficient. She embodies her profession, that of a soldier, less so in a "The few, the proud, the Marines," sense and more so as a willing and ignorant grunt, a cog in the machine sense. Stoic, emotionless, compliant, and seemingly always standing at attention, Ophelia makes certain that others feel heard and understood.
Personality
Ophelia exudes a sense of professional service. Compliant and willing to help, she robotically performs tasks required of her, often going above and beyond, asking for very little in return. She seems dissociated and detached, as if her body were not her own, and tends to push herself beyond reasonable limits. Self-sacrificing to the point of being near-suicidal, she thinks only of accomplishing the mission. Emotionally clumsy, Ophelia is awkward and can only come up with material solutions to the emotional problems of others. While she has the intention to be nurturing, her execution is lacking, as is her empathy. Emotionally stunted and unable to convey empathy properly, she sees her only form of expressing compassion in the act of making herself useful and being of utility to others. Part of her problem is the belief that she can be 'the glove that can fit any hand', and her having never found a suitable partner flies in the face of that. But it manifests in her personality, her obsessive, desperate attempts to be as excessively accommodating and compliant as possible.
Background Information
Volk Odin, or Wolf Prime, is a planet with a cold, harsh climate, colonized by a desperate but industrious people. Clumsy and inept, Ophelia grew up in a family of iridium miners, one of the few, precious commodities of the planet. That, unfortunately, made it a prime target for Ascendancy forces. During a routine transaction of iridium with their most recent customer, PROJECT Valkyrie, the mine was attacked. While the Valkyries that deployed were able to stave off the attack, Ophelia's home was destroyed, her and her family buried beneath it. When they dug her out, it became apparent that she was the sole survivor of her family. Both of her hands had also been mangled by the rubble, and with subpar medical facilities on Volk Odin, she would be a hand-less cripple for the rest of her days. Taking pity on her, one of the medical staff from PROJECT Valkyrie took her on board and she became a ward of the PROJECT, and eventually provided her with prosthetic hands.
Admiring the Valkyries who had swept in and prevented the colony from utter destruction, Ophelia had, at some point voiced a desire to become a coordinator. There was a floating theory among project scientists that synchronization potential could be tested at a young age and grooming someone to be a Coordinator from their youth could produce better-skilled pilots. Deciding that it was worth a shot, they allowed Ophelia to participate, and it became readily apparent that she had a knack for being a technical coordinator, proving quite capable at initiating synchronization and interfacing with Valkyrie computers. Some say that because of her prosthetics, she was already used to the man-machine-interface, though this was just conjecture. With TC's being so much more rare that PC's, they immediately tried to pair her with potential PC trainees. Yet something wasn't quite right, and despite everything looking good on paper, despite Ophelia's willingness to accommodate her prospective partners, despite Ophelia's 'blank-slate' psychological proflie, despite everything going smoothly during simulations, Ophelia was never able to pass Synchro Training with any partner. One partner described it as, "You're supposed to feel like two minds, one body, or two bodies, one mind, but I just felt like...me". Another described it as, "...an overwhelming sense of loneliness, like she wasn't there at all".
Though the scientists never said it in so many words, Ophelia felt like a reject and could tell their disappointment. In the end, she became a test-bed for the continued development of Valkyrie computers and as something akin to a 'training dummy' to get PC's used to the feel of interfacing with their eventual TC partners. But recently, something was...different about one of the prospective PC's passing through her training simulation.
A liliraune is a large plant consisting almost entirely of roots and one massive, bulbous flower. Within the petals of the flower is a deep pool of liquid nectar. Standing submerged up to their knees in the nectar are two voluptuous, green-skinned female bodies with lilac hair, Vivian and Sylvia, whose feet are rooted to the base of the flower at the bottom of the pool. Leaves and vines awrap around them, scantily covering their naughty bits. Vivian has chosen to leave her hair long and has a generally peppy and mischievous expression, while Sylvia has her hair cut short and wears glasses, often with a critical, bookish expression.
Liliraunes are technically mutant alraunes, and produce the same nectar, which is sweet, has stamina-boosting effects, and is a powerful aphrodisiac.
Photosynthesis-
Liliraunes can choose to derive all their nutrition from the soil and the sun. A doemant period of photosynthesis can usually heal most I'll and injuries.
Plant Regeneration-
Through photosynthesis, and enclosing themselves within the petals, Vivian and Sylvia can engage their plant-like ability to regenerate, closing wounds and leaving no scars, and even recovering lost limbs.
Vine Control-
The roots and vines sprouting from the base of the flower can be used to attack and ensnare prey, and otherwise hold or manipulate objects.
Thick, Succulent...Petals-
The petals of the flower are surprisingly tough and can be used for protection, especially when it closes up and Vivian and Sylvia retreat inside.
Multitasking and Uncanny Coordination-
Two minds, one body, Vivian and Sylvia have lived their entire lives together and know each other's minds and bodies like their own. Though not exactly telepathic, they share a link of familiarity that allows for amazing feats of coordination.
Limited Mobility-
The plant is usually rooted into soil, but it can uproot itself and crawl along on tentacle-like roots, albeit quite slowly.
Pastry Chef-
Vivian is quite the accomplished cook, though her specialty lies in pastries that incorporate her nectar.
Knife Throwing-
A violent and territorial chef, Vivian has learned how to throw kitchen knives in order to keep others out of her kitchen.
Botanical Expertise-
Most plant-based monsters have an affinity for other plants. Sylvia takes it to another level and has studied human botany and gardening. She uses this knowledge, as well as her plant instincts, to grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs for use in both her and her sister's crafts.
Pharmaceutical Alchemy-
Sylvia's natural affinity for herbalism, and her study of alchemy have made her quite the proficient producer of medicine.
Personality:
Vivian-
Energetic, peppy, and mischievous, Vivian is the less responsible, but more openly friendly of the pair. Her lack of caution hides her intelligence and talent. Vivian is boastful, arrogant, and competitive, easily getting into arguments, especially with her sister. She takes pride in her work, and will love anyone who appreciates or praises her.
Sylvia-
Sylvia is quiet and bookish. Analytical and pensive, she can become overly critical and pedantic, especially of her sister. She appreciates intellectuals and loves discussing scholarly interests. Shy but caring, Sylvia is motherly and likes to run a tight ship, more concerned with providing material comfort, and somewhat clumsy when it comes to providing emotional comfort.
Background:
A liliraune who sprouted in the backyard garden of a house in a monster-friendly village, Vivian and Sylvia were raised by the farmer couple who owned the house. The couple we're surprisingly knowledgeable about alraune physiology and took steps to make sure no mishaps occurred concerning nectar and seduction. They instead found an alchemist who knew how to take alraune nectar and remove the seductive, aphrodisiac effects, allowing it to be used as a sweetener without the embarrassing side effects. this alchemist intrigued Sylvia, who desired to learn more about the properties of other plants, while also inculcating Vivian with a love of cooking. Over the years, Vivian and Sylvia opened up a side of the farm as a small store, selling baked goods and medicine, becoming popular and contributing members to their society. One day, Bart passed through, and Vivian and Sylvia's parents offered him room and board. Impressed by the skills and talents of the sisters, and marveling at the harmony in which they have integrated into human society, Bart mentioned a desire to have someone help with infrastructure and logistics of the guild he planned to start. After all, most who joined would be adventurers and fighters, but who would feed them and provide them with medicine? When he left, he gave the location of his guild, should Vivian and Sylvia choose to participate. Recognizing the good they could do, and longing to spread their proverbial legs and see more of the world, the transferred their flower into a wheeled clay pot, and set off. Unfortunately their incessant bickering, days of stopping to photosynthesize and taste the local soil, and Vivian's insistence on not asking for directions meant that their already slow pace of travel took significantly longer than expected.
