The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

Question 13:
What is an (Open) or (Closed) topic in Expanding Horizons?
Answer: The term "Open" in the description of a topic means that world can be accessed by anyone, provided they can get there. "Closed" however, means that only players allowed by the topic's creator, or the Staff, can gain access to it. If you want to go to a "Closed" section, ask permission from the owner in a Private Message or Out-of-Character request. In the scheme of things, "Closed" worlds are protected, secret or just unknown to everyone else and are a "safe haven" for players who do not want outside interference. "Open" worlds in comparison are well known or freely discoverable.

You have a second approval.

I see no reason not to approve this character unless I missed something. That said, you have one of your two required approvals by Staff.
@Kafka Komedy
At minimum because you have a Tier 4 ability for this character, this character needs to at very least be Tier 3. Quintessence, speaking of abilities, is too poorly defined; in what ways does it approve the ability to attack or defend? Why is it so potent as a Tier 4 ability, something that would be on the same grounds as a Teleport without Error spell or Power Word: Stun spell. No less, "luck" as a mechanic needs to be defined better - do they just seem to avoid danger more efficiently? Do they seem to find treasure often? Do they never seem to get sick or tired?

Aether itself needs added definition, in how does it work? Where does it come from? How does one harness it? Can it be bottled and used as a physical resource as it seems to imply, or it is more akin to something like qi or generalized magic?

Until these questions are elaborated on, I cannot approve this character.
@Gordian Nought
This character is missing an associated overall tier rating, of which should be approximately 4. ACASIAS is not well explained just what it does in terms of the character, rather the function of it is overly defined and its use is undefined. The laboratory's details are too vague and not expressed in terms of functions or limits, more or just stating "It can do these things." without explaining just how or why or what its limitations are.

Overall, there's too much focus and explanation in all areas without really saying just what is being done or how it affects anything. For example, the Nano-Module apparently can repair damage and seems to also be some form of attack while also creating pheromones? What does the phrase "fog of martial nanobots" even mean? What do they do? What does it affect? What is it affected by? And so forth.

I will issue a disapproval until all areas of the character's abilities are explained in a more traditional format of abilities, weaknesses, functions and flaws.
The sudden snap of the trap spurred the chalky air to shudder; its backdraft pulling in the dust from every direction.

"All things in nature grow with time; only man is arrogant enough to rush perfection."

A familiar vortex of whipping winds spawned from the pavement near the center of the intersection, its whirling feeding into ghostly limbs and body until they all settled. A silent image, one partially made up of something as real as it was unreal and the rest everything in between, found itself beside the bag that the deceiver so treasured - enough so as to go on this whole endeavor. With almost a smug motion, it set one huge paw upon it, shifting it back slightly with living force as it too became whole and complete again; not just a phantom of ages old.

"Perhaps it is my turn to see just how willing you are to pursue." The powerful voice threatened, it splayed digits atop the supposed quarry, "Or would my doing so force you to admit a truth?"

The great cat, as any would expect of eternal nature, enjoyed the concept of coercing someone called the "Lord of Lies" into telling the truth. Perhaps not verbally, but by action and deed. After all, he had perhaps ventured into an ante from which he might not escape from without a loss. There was no telling what became of the soldier Jane or the colorful, swirling, rogue mists. All the Harbinger could ensure was that it and this conflict it found itself in, worked itself out favorably. The rest could be dealt with later.

Clopping along like a rickety mess, a bolt of shimmering magic courtesy of Wick flying by it and off into the town, the first agent of the dark rounded the corner and near skidded across the cobblestone pavers as it tried to find its way into the fray. For some reason or another, at least one that couldn't be discerned at this very moment, it seemed to have realized to break off from its futile efforts with Katia and paired up with the other combatant challenging Thea. While the actual challenger jabbed wildly with its sword, really flailing its blade at her with reckless abandon and not an ounce of fatigue, it was the one behind her who succeeded by chance. As she went to dodge the strikes and turn others aside, she took a fair blow from behind as the lightless sword grazed her side.

Meanwhile, but a few feet away, the blade dueled with one of the shadowy infantrymen, they danced as they did for a moment until the man's sword glimmered to life and completely voided the foe's defense from an angle above. For a moment, Cesar's smugness was well earned, until of course the reactionless shadow blinked its purple eyes and proceeded to smack him with the flat of its blade to his cheek. Did... did it have a sense of insult from that? Or was it just the most "reasonable" thing it thought to do? That was assuming it thought at all, but it did manage to break the surprise. Or maybe that was the rogue crossbow bolt that flew between them all with deadly precision, albeit slightly misplaced.

What hurt more for the bard, his pride or being smacked with a sword? In either case, his offender exploded into a puff of plum colored smoke and evaporated into nothingness, a familiar fizzling of magic buzzing in the ears and bits of twinkling sparks hitting the ground.

"Pow! Ha ha! We showed him!" The gnome gleefully cheered, the rest of his barrage of magic striking the enemy between the graceful feline monk perched atop the building and the armored paladin.

Haemar? As for Haemar he found his two foes more confused as to what to do. In some ways they seemed wary of his newfound ward, almost as though they realized the danger, but the other aspect of them seemed to want them to attack regardless. After some shimmying left and right, back and forth, the three traded blows between one another in a series of dodges, parries, blocks and deflections. At the end, nothing seemed to have been accomplished. Not for the shadowy figures at least - the elven sword-bearing wizard found himself not so harassed as he had earlier now.

With regard to my comment, it is fair to say there is a significant disproportion in just how many "crazy men" go on stabbings, often accompanied by the cry of "Allahu Akbar". The way it was carried out, the reaction, and the evacuation conducted held added interest. Either way, a point of concern and the way it was preformed - prior to a security checkpoint - tells me what I needed to know.

Everything else was answered from the get and confirmed later rather than remaining suspicion.
I saw it labeled as Islamic terror, color this cat unsurprised there, but I was more curious if there was added information available yet. So far it seems to have been kept pretty quiet, yet another "surprise". I suppose in the morning I will have something else to read then; hopefully more is available at that time.
I believe you have more than earned your fair pass on that one, @mdk. Although, at the moment and on a different topic, does anyone have any better insight on the Michigan incident at the airport?
