Personal Style: Nali’s overall style can be summarised as “smart casual, and predominantly practical” in nature. He wears very little jewellery, only a locket containing a picture of himself and his sister when they were younger, as this is an important keepsake to him. Any other extras are a hazard to him while working as they could become caught up in instruments and equipment while working. For the same reason, his hair is kept quite short, just reaching his ears (this is pinned up out of the way when performing surgery or stitches etc.). Sterile gloves and a surgical mask are never far from his reach should he need them.

He is most often seen in his full medical scrubs/lab coat outfit, in case anyone comes into the medbay requiring treatment, or the group get into a scrape while working planetside. As underclothes however, he dresses casually but sensibly enough to make a good impression. A loose creamy white cotton shirt, tucked into well-tailored off-grey trousers and donning a grey jacket over the top to protect him from the elements. He will either travel barefoot (most often around the Raven when performing general daily tasks that don’t involve surgery or needing to remain totally sterile) or cover his feet with sensible ankle-height brown boots.

Personality:
Nali is an entirely capable fighter given his previous combat training, however since losing his sister he made the decision to actively avoid conflicts of any sort, leading to a pacifistic attitude. He would rather keep out of it than get involved in any punch ups; he will quite gladly patch someone up after a fight, but don’t expect him to step in unless he literally has to because his life depends on it. Instead, he has devoted his time to learning how to care for and help others. Thus he offers his aid to anyone who might need it, regardless of which side of the conflict they might happen to fall on. He is gentle and understanding even with the most frightened or irate of patients and very rarely loses his cool.

Nali was never particularly talkative, that was Rhine’s thing. Essentially speaks when spoken to out of his regular duties and reports, while he enjoys company and doesn’t like being alone he finds it hard to initiate conversations because he’s often not sure what to say. Prefers it if someone else approaches him and begins a topic first, which he can then draw upon and add to. While he doesn’t say an awful lot, Nali notices and picks up on a lot of things; he just doesn’t mention it unless he believes it is worth bringing to someone’s attention.

Nali enjoys figuring out problems and learning new techniques, skills and languages. If he’s not playing dejarik or at work in the medbay, then he’s in his quarters pouring over his latest set of books and scrolls. Quite sensitive, especially to being left on his own. He gets restless and edgy without company if alone for too long.

History

The Reason You Chose The Side You Did: “I still believe that the Empire was responsible, even if only indirectly, for what happened to my sister. And because of that I could never join them, so that left me with only one alternative: the Republic. Even if Rhine hadn’t died fighting the Empire, I don’t think I could support their ideologies. I’ve seen enough of their thirst for war and blood, and I have no wish to be a part of it. I will fight if I have to in order to support the Republic, but they seem to share the same overall end goal...to just have this conflict end and have relative peace return to the galaxy.”
History: Born on the Echani home planet of Eshan alongside his twin sister, Rhine; Denali was the ‘younger’ of the pair. Shared a particularly close bond with his sister and was never seen far from her side, the two grew up and trained together. As with all Echani, they were trained quite extensively in melee and hand-to-hand combat, though Denali also showed his own private interest in lore and languages, studying them whenever he got the chance to take a break from his other lessons; he studied holocrons, books and scrolls and the like whenever he could get hold of them, learning to speak a couple of the more common alien languages (Huttese, Durese and Twi’lek). While his sister found such persuits rather ‘boring’, she would humour him when she could bear it and in return he would accompany her on exploratory adventures in their spare time. Denali was always the more ‘sensible’ twin. He would be the one to pull his sister back and reign her in when she got over eager and rushed off into reckless situations, often saving her from many awkward or otherwise compromising situations.

When they came of age and they had completed their required levels of training (at around 14 years old), both siblings enlisted in the army but were placed in separate units/divisions due to their slightly differing skill sets. They served time in the military for several years, and joined in the war effort when the Empire’s quest for power finally reached their system, sometime shortly after the Clone Wars petered out. It was during one such battle that Rhine’s carelessness finally caught up with her. She was badly wounded in an ambush attack as were many other members of her unit, and although Denali managed to reach his twin, he was not adequately first aid trained to save her life.

Losing his sister made him rethink his outlook on life. Denali lost his motivation to fight, which his people would consider strange and abnormal. Regardless, he made the decision to leave his homeworld hoping that the solitude would help him to come to terms with his loss. Denali travelled to Dantooine where he worked as a mercenary for a while before making the decision to stop fighting battles for the most part, and seeking to re-train in the medical field. It took him a few years, but with careful practise and the determination to learn so that he would never lose someone close to him again, Denali managed to earn the title of a doctor. When the Raven came through the area recruiting for a medical personnel to serve on the ship during their travels, he applied and was taken onto the crew.

Uhmm, are we talking overall completely out of the whole saga? I’m probably gonna get shot for this but I actually liked Episode I (Darth Maul and Qui Gon, man ;w;) ...The Force Awakens was pretty epic too though, excited to see where Disney goes with the rest of the episodes!

Apologies, I am partway through completing my character sheet, but the computer that I've managed to borrow for the weekend keeps overheating and crashing (gosh I miss mine D:) so it's taking far longer to fill out than I thought it would.
