Demons, humanity's ancient and persistent foe. One hellbent on controlling and dominating humanity. For centuries it was up to various groups and holy orders to defend humanity from this threat over the centuries. A war that has seen both success and failure. The greatest of these victories was the death of the Demon king Thozath and most of his legions. Though the demons still remained, they were no longer as numerous as they were before, and the war with demonkind went underground. With demons beginning to operate in the shadows and strike unsuspecting humans. Which the strongest of the human orders. The Wardens of Light have taken up the task of hunting down these demons wherever they could be found.
But, what of the failures, you might ask. However, there have been setbacks over the centuries in this war. The two worse of all were the enslavement of the Sagian and the deaths of the Clan Voi. The Sagian a race that once lived and coexisted with humanity in the past. But, sometime after the death of Thozath, one of his lieutenants, Urkenith devised a plan to strengthen the demon horde by enslaving the Sagian. Who were both stronger and more durable than humans. By tricks and lies, Urkenith manipulated the Sagion leaders and used the last traces of Thozath's blood in a ritual that bounded the Sagians to the demon horde. No one, not even the mighty Wardens, could save the Sagions from their cruel fate. For only Clan Voi were the only ones that could reverse such a ritual, for they were the descendants of the ancient god Voi. His blood flows in their veins and granted them unique magics that would be the only thing that could free the Sagions. But, they were heavily weakened after Thozath's death as many of their numbers died during the battle and Urkenith directed what demons remained to hunt them down. No one was spared, and soon the once great clan was wiped out with their own hope of being free gone. Most Sagion turned to despair and were now forced to serve the demons that they once fought against.
But, unknown to all, Clan Voi did not die out as most thought. For a single baby had survived the extermination and would be found by a kind couple. Unaware of his heritage and powers, this baby would grow up and later foster children. Continuing the bloodline and the hidden hope that the Sagion could be free once again.
Fast-forward to the present of 2024. Demons, magic, the Wardens, and most of the past have been faded into legend and myth. The war continuing albeit from behind the scenes. For the most part, people of today have to worry about mundane problems. But, for a group of college students in Philadelphia, they will see a glimpse of not only this war but of the power that lies in their veins. The power of Voi which will make them both the most coveted for the Wardens and the most wanted by the demons. Whenever they realize their power and undo the ritual that binds the Sagion or fall to the demons is up to the actions of these students.

Overview:
Hello and welcome to this rp. So in this rp we will be playing as college students that are descendants of the ancient god Voi who will find themselves caught up in the conflict between humanity and demons. Where their unique powers will manifest and they will have the chance to save the Sagian from their enslavement by demons. While also being highly wanted by said demons that want to stop that from happening.
The rp will start in Philadelphia where the players will be enrolled at the prestigious Benjamin Franklin University. Where from here, they will begin their journey of learning how to use their soul based powers and free the Sagion from demon control. Along with learning more about their forebears and Voi himself. Which will take them across the world and to hidden places. As long as they can survive being hunted by the demon horde.
Powers:
While everyone will generally have the same powers, being soul based as Clan Voi members have the ability to use magic by drawing power from their souls. Granting them unique powers but, at cost of their health. For using their powers causes them to grow tired and if used too much. Then they can cause harm to themselves and even death in some cases.
As for what powers a Clan Voi member has, the more generic powers such as launching a soul energy bolt at a target or deploying a shield made from soul energy. So you can be creative with this as along it is not overpowered or strays away from being soul-based. Even mold your char to be a certain role, like tank, dps, or healer/support.
As for the unique powers a Clan Voi member has, here are three powers that all Clan Voi members have:
Soul Sight: When used it grants its user to see people's souls and to see through walls. Along with being able to see if a person is being possessed by a demon or otherwise. Or even track down a person's soul if skilled enough. The only downside is that when in use and regardless of the user's eye color. Their eyes will glow a bright blue for as long as they are using soul sight.
Exorcism: Though there are other ways to exorcise an entity from its host. members of Clan Voi magic tend to be more powerful and more efficient than most. Which in conjunction with soul sight. A user can exorcise an entity such as a demon from its host, sometimes by literally reaching into the host and ripping out the entity by force.
Soul Awareness: A more passive ability, this power lets someone detect the presence of lost souls in a short area. Such as ghosts or phantoms. Being able to communicate with them and help them along to the afterlife. Either peacefully or by force.
That is it and if you have any questions or need some help. Just ask and here is the character sheet.
Name: Gender: Age:(18 or higher) Appearance: Nationality: Personality: Soul Powers:(Three or four) Skills:(What are they skilled at?) Personal Belongings:(What they normally kept on their person?) Background: Relationships:(Family and close friends)
I'm down to be a super powered college student who fights demons. But I have no real knowledge about Philadelphia, as I'm Canadian and have never been there.
That is fine, it is only the starting location and the university where everyone is enrolled is a made-up one. So you do not need to look it up.
Also, when one more person shows interest or after Christmas. I will get a ooc and cs sheet together.

Biography Tahen was born like most Drell on the Hanar homeworld of Kahje. The eldest of three and living in one of the several climate-controlled dome cities. Growing up, Tahen was raised mainly by his father as his mother was still serving the Compact. A drive to honor the Hanar that saved their people was something that his father would remind him often. Though Tahen wished that he could see his mother more often and not on missions. Regardless, Tahen and his siblings often played with each other in the meantime and were raised in traditional Drell ways. Something that left a strong impression on him.
When Tahen was ten was when the horrible news came to light, for his mother had developed Kepral's Syndrome. A well-known Drell and an incurable illness that left the family devastated. Which despite the news and protests from Tahen and his siblings, Tahen's mother still chose to honor the Compact and would go on more missions until she was too ill to continue. She would die soon after, and Tahen would never understand why her mother chose to do this. To serve and honor the Compact instead of being with her family during her final days, starting to view the Compact and honoring it as unfavorable.
Years later, when he was sixteen did tragedy strike his family again when his father developed Kepral's Syndrome. On his father's deathbed, did he wish for Tahen to take up the Compact like his mother before him. Tahen had reservations about it but ultimately decided on honoring his father's last wish. It helped that Tahen knew that his siblings would be well cared for without him, and he quickly took up the Compact.
Being trained as an assassin, Tahen spent six years serving the Hanar. Hunting and killing those the Hanar deemed to be killed. It was during this time that he started to question the Compact. Sure helping the Hanar with tasks that were difficult for them was one thing. But being used as a weapon for them, to do their dirty work. It did not feel right to Tahen felt more like this was a mistake. Which finally, Tahen convinced the Hanar to release him from the Compact. Now free from his binds, Tahen started to think about what to do with his newfound freedom. Only soon after being released did an ancient foe, the Reapers, return to the galaxy.
The ensuring Reaper War, Tahen joined the war effort and fought the best he could. But being essentially a free merc and not connected to any military. This meant that Tahen was bounced around during the war. One deployment of note was fighting alongside the Nos Astra Freedom Battalion near Illium. At the end of the war, Tahen took part in the Battle for Earth. Being apart of the initial fighting before getting knocked out by an explosion. When he woke up, Tahen found himself in a makeshift Alliance hospital and was told the news. They had won, Commander Shepard was successful, and Reaper forces across the galaxy were dead. This brought him immense relief that the galaxy was saved but, he was back to an old question that he had before the Reaper War. What to do now.
Tahen, at first, had no clue of what to do. Thinking about as he recovered and the mass relays became operational again. He considered becoming a merc since he has few skills outside of killing. But, after hearing of the Citadel Security Fleet and thinking about it. Tahen knew what he wanted to do and before enlisting. He made a trip to visit his siblings first and after some time with them. Tahen enlisted and served for four years before eventually being assigned to the SSV-Intervention. Where to his surprise, he will meet some familiar faces.
