Somewhere in the Amazon

It has been five days since the group left the city of Manaus, a Brazilian city located in the heart of the Amazon. It was where Coswall and his expedition started from based on the notes that Lucas had acquired from accessing Coswall's house. Following the route seemed easy, but when dealing with the Amazon, a realm that none of the group had been in before. It was more challenging than thought. More so since they had to go on foot after leaving Manaus. Leaving the comfort of civilization behind, and into the green jungle that is the Amazon.

The sun was just at the highest point in the sky as its rays beat down on the group. Making the already moist and hot jungle even hotter. But with the salvation that was a cool breeze and tree cover. The group was protected from the sun. The Amazon was alive and well at this hour, birds and other life were adding to the sounds of the jungle. Along with the annoying bugs that live here.

The group has not encountered any trouble yet, except for a rainstorm on the third day of the expedition, which made everyone miserable. But still they soldiered on, led by Lucas. Mainly since it was his idea for this whole thing, and he was the one with Coswall's notes and learned the route he took. Even though he is the youngest person on the expedition. It was a burden that Lucas was not used to, but given the goal of the expedition. He was willing to bear it for now. Anything to find out what happened to his mother.

As the group got closer to the temple that Coswall claimed held the pathway to the Lost World. Lucas was half looking ahead, half looking at Coswall's notes in his journal. This had to be the way, Lucas thought hopefully. It has to, he had used enough money on this, and this is the only clue he found that can lead them to Coswall's lost expedition. This has to be the way.

But as he was half paying attention, Lucas missed a tree root and fell to the ground on some more roots. Still clinging to the open journal as he lay there on his stomach. "Urgh," Lucas let out as he checked the journal, and it was still okay. Making an impromptu stopping point, Lucas tried to get up with one hand on the journal. Making some progress.
I do not know, maybe she lost interest? The same with Flarbinia. But either way, I will start working on the IC and get it up today. So for anyone who is working on a CS. I know one person maybe working to join. You have time since the rp starts in South America before the group goes to the Lost World.

I will eventually! I've been a bit delayed on posting. I'm typing this from New Orleans, cause I'm competing in the Pokemon North American Championship this weekend, but I'm going to try and finish the OP today before diving back into prep for that.

Okay, just let me know once you are ready and I can help, and good luck with the championship.
Just saying, I am going to slow down for a bit now I got writing out of my system with posting now with my last post. And now open if anyone wants to collab with me.

"What the fuck do you want, girly?" Yulian could hear Arthur's voice as he entered the locker room, and he could see that Arthur was at his locker at the far end, and Connor was close by. Yulian could not see, but Connor's face was one of intense anger, like someone who was close to their breaking point and barely holding on. But had yet to say anything.

"Are you just looking to stare at me with that face, or what are you going to do, girly?" Arthur's preferred nickname for Connor, while Connor was just standing there fuming. Arthur had by now noticed Yulian and spoke in his usual demanding tone. "Hey, get this prick away from me, and I will even tip. I have done nothing this time." Arthur's gaze shifted back to Connor. "Hear that girly, and if you are going to do something, I dare you since I doubt you can hurt me with those weak arms of ours, and I doubt you're a Gray. So are you either going to stare at me with that pitiful gaze, or you are going to leave with that man down the way." The demeaning tone was strong in his voice.

Arthur took a step forward and stared the still unmoving Connor in the eyes. "So what will it be, girly?"

As Yulian was walking toward Connor to get him away from Arthur, he was about to call Connor's name. Connor's body started glowing bright yellowish white, and then Connor spoke with a hateful voice to Arthur. "You deserved this!" Then he quickly unleashed a sizable concussion shockwave that knocked both Arthur and Yulian back. Arthur hit the lockers hard, while Yulian was knocked back and landed in a heap and did not move.

Yulian does not know how long he was knocked out on the ground. It figured it was short since when he came to. It was just him, and as his vision adjusted and the ringing in his ears started to fade. Most of the locker room was a mess, it looked like a bomb had gone off. The ceiling had holes, and some parts were on the ground. A ceiling light was hanging, somehow still on, while others were knocked out or on the ground. The lockers were either bent or broken, and Connor... Yulian could not see Connor, but he could see Arthur. On the ground in front of his locker. He was either dead or needed to go to the hospital, given how close he was to Connor when he went off.

Before Yulian could try to get up, he could hear Dameins's voice. "Yulian, what the hell happened, and where is Connor?"

Yulian coughed a bit before speaking as he got halfway up, "gone, he is gone, someplace not here."

Damein looked at the scene as he knelt down to check on Yulian and had a horrified expression when he saw Arthur. Running over to him and went down to check his pulse. "Oh, thank god, he is alive... I need to call an ambulance." He looked over at Yulian, "Did Connor do this?"

Yulian took a moment as he stared at Damien and hesitantly nodded.

"Shit, I did not know he was a Gray and now...." He shook his head, "I am going to call 911, and stay there, Yulian. I do not want you to hurt yourself."

"I am fine, you should worry about Arthur. He was right next to Connor when he went off." Yulian said as he slowly got up. He was in pain, maybe enough to warrant a trip to the hospital, but he is standing. Though he has felt worse before, he can survive this.

Connor being a Gary, that is new. Yulian did not take him for one, and he was not registered at the gym for being one. Maybe he wanted to hide being a Gray, and today, he could not take Arthur's bullying anymore. Poor kid, causing damage to a building is one thing, but nearly killing someone like Arthur. His family will want Connor's head.

While Yulian had sympathy for Connor, and less for Arthur. This whole thing, this should not have happened and could have been prevented. If only..., as Yulian much as he wanted to remind Damein about the Arthur problem. Now was not the time, and he would rather save that for another day. When his ribs were not hurting, the chance that Arthur could die while on the way to the hospital was gone.

But either way, Connor probably ruined his life for doing this, and now... Before Yulian could think of another word. He could see out of the corner of his eye a group of people forming in the entrance to the locker room. Turning to face them, as he could hear Damein's voice talking to the dispatcher. Yulian spoke to the crowd as he walked with pained breath towards them.

"I know you all have questions, but things are under control." At least he thinks things cannot get worse.

"Okay, but what about my stuff?" One of them asked.

Yulian looked back at the mess of the locker room for a moment, and he turned back to the crowd." I suggest getting your stuff now, just be careful and do not get in the way of my boss, okay?"

The crowd seemed okay with this answer and moved past him to retrieve, maybe, damaged belongings. Actually, it would be amazing if they were not wrecked and if they could get to them, that is. He thought as he watched the crowd and then back to the rest of the intact gym. Most were in the locker room getting their stuff, and the place looked empty. Though he could see at least one person still boxing on a training dummy and a pair still playing racquetball. Apparently unfazed or just not caring about what happened.

Still, this day went from good to worse in a heartbeat, and now he may have to take a trip to the hospital if Damien forces him to go. Though it pales in comparison to what Connor has to deal with now. Yulian shook his head in silence and went to the offices to inform the rest of the team of what had happened. They are bound to be concerned after that shockwave, and so Yulian went. Hoping that his day does not get worse.
You guys are so quick with it

*nervous sweating*

I am just eager to write is all.
So after one more person joins, or enough time has passed. I will start working on the IC and getting this rp going.

Sometime past noon

Herculean Effort Gym, one of the few gyms in the city that caters to both normal humans and Grays. A medium-sized gym with what you could want at a gym for both groups, plenty of workout machines, live TVs, music, and more like a boxing ring, training dummies, and even a place to play racquetball. A place that Yulian likes working at. Not because he believed in the goal of the gym to promote cooperation between normal humans and Grays and be a space where both can be safe. But the pay was good, and he liked his boss. Damien Mores, the second Mores to run the gym after his mother, the founder of the gym, died some years ago. Though a normal human and not a Gray, Damien still believes in his mother's goal and has plans that go beyond the gym someday. For now, he is committed to the gym, and Yulian is lucky to have a good boss like him.

As Yulian made his rounds around the gym, walking around and seeing if anyone needed help. Seeing both regulars and some newcomers. Some normals and some Grays pumping away at the iron. Just a normal day at the gym, and he would nod at some of the passing regulars who spotted him, and they nodded in return. People know him here, in a good way, and he kinda likes it. While Yulian would normally want to be just a face in the crowd, a face that people forget about as they pass by without a second thought. People here actually like him, more so since he does help around the gym and is more than just Damien's assistant.

Though that was Damien's fault and not his. Since the man wanted Yulian to be more hands-on than hands-off. More so after Damien hired a new assistant who is in charge of the few people who handle the paperwork and finances of the gym. A talkative, normal man named Ross Quinn with short red hair, blue eyes, and a modest goatee. Nice guy, but he talks a bit too much for Yulian's taste. Still, he is a natural with racquetball and is surprisingly muscular despite being essentially an accountant. Even normals are surprises sometimes.

Then Yulian's pager went off, and he knew what that meant. So he walked to the back area of the gym and headed straight to Damien's office. Passing by Ross's and his own office, and knowing that Damien was expecting him. He simply opened the door and got halfway inside. "You wanted to see me, boss?" Saying it in a neutral tone.

Damien has medium-length brown hair and a clean-shaven face. He is middle-aged but still sports a young look. He was sitting at his desk, looking at some files, and put the paper down once he heard Yulian's voice. "Yeah, Yulian, but do not take a seat, this is going to be brief."

"Okay," again in a neutral tone, though wondering what this was about as he moved closer inside and closed the door.

"Yulian, I know you have been working hard at the gym, and you have been following my advice on being hands-on, which I appreciate."

Yulian is getting a bit worried.

"I have just wanted to say that because of your efforts, I'm going to give you a raise as a reward for your work here."

Yulian had a glad expression on his face. "Thank you boss, and I will not let you down." Gratitude was clear in his voice.

"Yulian, you have been working here long enough that you can call me by my name and I know you will."

"Okay... Damien," It is going to take time for Yulian to get used to that.

Then Damien got up from his seat, "Yulian, walk with me."

Yulian got out of Damien's way and followed him as they left the office and walked back to the main exercise area.

"The gym has been doing well over the past few years, and I just wanted you to know that we are hiring more people. Mainly personal trainers, and if things continue to do well enough. Then maybe that expansion I have talked about can happen."

"Okay, good to know, and if there's anything you need on my own."

"Just the normal I ask of you, and if that expansion happens, the gym will be closed for a time. But after talking with Ross, we should have enough money to cover everyone until we reopen."

"Okay, nice, and is there anything else you want to talk to me?

"Just one more thing, I..." Damien's words stopped as he started to look at the front door, and Yulian turned to see what Damien was looking at. The unfortunately familiar face of one, Arthur Monts, a son of the well-connected Monts family, was entering the gym. A tall, blonde-haired man with grey eyes, good-looking, and with a semi-muscular body. A person known for being a bully at the gym and causing problems, and one that Damien has so far refused to ban from the gym despite Yulian's suggestions.

"Boss." The words hissed out of him.

"I know Yulian, but you know how his family is connected, and I do not want for the gym to get hurt."

That is the one thing Yulian does not like about his boss. Letting pricks get away with causing problems because of their status. If he had a bit more spine, then Arthur and others like him would not cause a problem here. Then again, with the money that the Monts have, Yulian does not get why Arthur has to come here to work out. He can just have a personal gym back home, and yet he comes here.

Then another person entered the gym after Arthur, and it was one of Arthur's targets. An eighteen-year-old named Conner Matthews, with brown hair and green eyes. Who Yulian knows Arthur targets for being a feminine man trying to gain muscle. Several times, Yulian had to intervene to stop the bullying and keep the peace. Which is why Yulian suggests banning Arthur from the gym but never does.

This time, Conner is heading to the locker room, where Arthur is heading, and he looks different. Something is off about him, but the thing that gets Yulian is his face. A look that Yulian knows well enough, a look he had shown under his father's thumb. A look of anger that is waiting to explode on someone.

Before Yulian could speak, Damien seemed to recognize the same thing and spoke first. "Yulian, can you go..."

"On it, boss." Neither man said another word as Yulian followed the two into the locker room. Not knowing what would happen next.

Accepted.
