Wildest thing I learned was that the Mistborn series is loosely tied with the Stormlight Archive in this incredible novel universe Sanderson is making.

I think The Long Night was amazing. The Battle of Helm's Deep for GoT, and it pulled it off wonderfully.

This is a bit late, but 2019 has officially been blessed by Tom Brady. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Bio
Yo! I'm Torack, you can call me Jay!
I've been RPing for a long, long time. I blame it on my overactive imagination, but it's a wonderful medium to put all these creative ideas into some sorta use. My favourite genre is fantasy. Straight up fantasy. It can be high fantasy, low fantasy, dark, modern. I love fantasy, grew up with it. I also like sci-fi, dystopian settings, etc.. Characterization and character driven stories are my favourite type of RPs, I like seeing them grow and change and the way characters react to completely shit and horrible situations. It's always a fun time.
Personally, my hobbies include reading, although recently the only types of reading I've been doing is from text books ffs. I like sports, any type of sport really, except soccer. My legs are way too clumsy for that sport. Music is something I love, R&B mostly, although I'll listen to mostly anything.
I also love pie. Pie is life, especially pecan pie. It's damn near traumatizing knowing that I haven't eaten any in like five years. Sad times.
Massively interested in this. Quick question, though! Seems like there's an overarching plot to the RP, but is this going to be more sand-boxy or railroady?
Dropping my application for this because I'm interested!
Character you have created: Dr. Damian Connors
Alias: Hood
Speech Color: Silver
Character Alignment: Walking the Line
Identity: Unknown
Character Personality: Damian is a very thoughtful individual. The type of person to think his way through things and carefully weigh his options before committing or jumping into anything serious. He is sometimes seen as hesitant by some because of this or even cynical considering he doesn't always make a choice just because it's the right one, but based on how it'll affect things down the line or if it'll have severe repercussions later on.
He's the type of individual to constantly look at the bigger picture, and because of this he can seem a bit calloused as well. Having a career as a forensic pathologist has certainly added layers of thick skin and has numbed away most of his compassion, something he believes he had to sacrifice and cut away in order to continue and advance his career. Although a very nice individual, he does see others as little more than walking constructs made from organic flesh.
Due to his time and career spent with the dead, he is somewhat awkward around others. But he does have a level of charm about him that he's retained before entering his pathology residency. However subtle, it does pop out from time to time and often reminds him of what he could've been, or how he could've been as a person had he chosen a different profession.
Uniform/costume: A black hood trimmed in gold that covers his face in unnatural shadows and continues down as a cloak with the same colour palate. Underneath the cloak he wears a black and gold bodysuit, with golden hieroglyphs running down along the lateral side of arms and legs. On his waist is a silken, gold-dyed cloth wrapped around with a loose end hanging down like a loin-cloth. And on the centre of his chest is the symbol of Anubis
Origin Info/Details: Damian was born into a family of doctors, his parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunts all physicians with a few outliers here and there. As such, he was expected from a young age to follow in his family's footsteps. Schooling however didn't come easy for him despite his parents constant demand that he get better grades. What he was good at however was sports. Specifically basketball. He would find himself playing ball outside constantly whenever he was done with his homework, or sometimes even sneaking out before getting it done to play with his friends.
Eventually he made it into his varsity high school team and in his senior year his dreams of becoming part of the NBA, a dream he'd had since middle school, were shattered when he completely tore his ACL and partially tore his LCL in his right leg. After the surgeries, he graduated highschool and eventually got into medical school. It was there that his fascination with the dead began, and the physiology behind death; and although his first forensics lab and dissecting a recently deceased body shook him, he slowly grew numb to it as he did more and more forensic labs.
After medical school and getting placed into pathology, he chose a forensic subspecialty in order to focus more on the aspects and causes of death.
Years later, during a week long medical conference in Cairo, Egypt he decided to go touring and visit the pyramids. During the tour, he and his friend, Chris, paid the guide to take them into the Grand Pyramid. While they were inside, Damian heard a whisper coming from the walls of the pyramid and at first ignored it, thinking it was nothing more than shifting sands. When he heard it again louder, his curiosity got the better of him and he decided to investigate, following the whispers through narrow corridors until he came upon a chamber with a black and gold sarcophagus.
The whispers grew louder and louder as he drew near. It was then that the guide came into the chamber in a panicked state telling Damian to pull back. But instead, he touched the sarcophagus and instantly collapsed.
He found himself in a strange room surrounded in golden braziers, and in the centre was the massive form of Anubis. After a short conversation, Anubis told Damian of the troubled and imbalanced world above, and that he was chosen to correct and sustain that delicate balance. Damian was instead confused, saying that he didn't have the capabilities to protect anyone, and thus Anubis spent centuries with Damian teaching him the theories of ancient magic and how to cast various spells.
Centuries worth of forgotten knowledge and experience was learned, he met the ancient Egyptian gods, befriending some, making a few enemies, and living several lifetimes in the underworld.
When his learning was done, Damian came through in a hospital with his friend and girlfriend both present. Confusion written all over his face, Chris told him that a week had passed since he'd touched the sarcophagus. He was discharged later that day and booked a flight back to Portland where he told Jessica, his then girlfriend now wife, of what happened while he was in a coma. AFter not believing him, he showed her his powers and told her to keep it only between them, that no one, not even his parents could know of what he now was.
Hero Type: Mystic
Power Level: Cosmic
Powers: Damian's powers come from the multitude of spells that he knows and has learned from his time with Anubis. They come in the form of:
Magic Projections - Damian can create and release magical projections as a form of long-range attack. He can minimally change the shape of the projections but not the property.
Force-field Generation- As a defence, Damian can create magical force-fields around himself to deflect magical, physical, and energy type attacks for a short time.
Magic Reflection - Damian can reflect and deflect simple spells and projections cast against him. Or even dispel the magic entirely in some minor cases.
Magic Detection - Hood as an acute sense for magic and can detect subtle magical energies being around or in a planet if he focuses. The stronger the magic-user or spell, the easier it is for him to detect.
Magic Portal Creation - One of Damian's favourite spells is portal creation in order to teleport to wherever he needs to get to immediately.
Magical Telekenesis - Another versatile spell that Damian has in his arsenal as more of an ease-of-life type of thing. The versatility of the spell allows him to use it in many situations both in and out of combat.
Magical Flight - He can use his magic to fly, and often uses this with a small force-field to go into incredible speeds without damaging himself.
Attributes (Select one at each category):
Height: 6'2" Weight: 190 lbs Strength Level: Average Speed/Reaction Timing Level: Average Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: 4 hours Agility: Average Intelligence: Genius Fighting Skill: Trained Resources: Large
Weaknesses: Physical attacks are his main weakness. Even with his magical defences, he's incredibly susceptible to physical damage and a punch that would normally kill an ordinary human would also naturally kill him.
Since all of his powers come solely from magic, any sort of anti-magic artifact or spell would render him as an average human.
Supporting Characters:
Jessica Connors - Wife
Tyrone Connors - Father
Mona Connors - Mother
Chris Dalesworth - Close friend
Henry Fisher - Close friend
Sophia Connors - Sister
Damian walked into the living room and sat down, a troubled look on his face. He'd received his orders a day prior and he still hadn't left the city. It seemed almost... wrong. This was the first time he had to do something like this, and yet he knew that this day would eventually come. For the past several months he'd been off saving civilizations from planet busting tyrants and mad men bent towards the destruction of sentient life.
He felt as if he was making a change, he could see the immediate effects of his actions of the relief and gratitude he received on his various missions and he could predict the long-term outcomes. The eventual growth in population and restabilization of order. And even with his latest order he knew he'd be doing a greater good. Or at least that's what he predicted.
Feeling a hand on his shoulder he looked up to see Jessica sitting next to him, a concerned look on her face. "You okay?" She asked him.
"Not really," he said with a shake of his head. "There's a ruler in a distant planet I have to kill.
Jessica frowned. "Not very different from what you usually do. He's a tyrant isn't he?"
"No. He's probably the best thing to happen to that planet. Everyone's full, happy, prosperous."
"Wait... then-then why do you have to kill him?"
Damian stood up, his normal shirt and pants changing into his black and gold cloak. "His continued rule will lead to overpopulation, which will, according to Anubis, slowly destabilize the economy of the local star system. He's death will prevent an eventual disaster."
Jessica stood and walked in front of him, he watched her lift the hood from his face. "Are you sure? Are you certain this information is true? Aren't you the one who said destiny and fate are constantly fluctuating?"
Damian nodded. "They are, but what am I to do, Jessica? Let it happen on the off-chance that it won't?"
"You're not an assassin, Damian. There has to be some other way."
He looked away. "One life to save billions. If I don't kill him, I let countless lives fall to ruin and suffering. I can prevent that. With one death."
"And how do you know if you do kill him that outcome will just happen anyway? How do you know it won't get worse?"
Damian was silent for a moment, then put on the hood and floated back from his wife. "I'm sorry," he said as a black portal ripped open behind him. "I can't sit around and do nothing. But if there's another way, I'll look for it." Then he was gone.
Lucivar's eyes widened for a moment when he felt Fatima's arms wrap around him. He wanted to say something to console her, but before he could, he saw Gen summon his blade and Faeril enter the room. His lips pressed together as he looked around, but this was a damn right mess, and the appearance of Faeril brought back the Dea Al Mon's mention of a Black Widow and turned his head toward the proprietress. He didn't know if the Dea Al Mon was talking about Faeril and it would be foolish to jump to that conclusion. But a simple witch bringing them all together as she had with, as of yet, an unknown purpose did seem rather odd.
It brought some comfort knowing that Andress was going to look into her. Lucivar patted his Queen on the arm while his eyes were still trained on Faeril. "And what exactly did you expect bringing strangers in your home with no explanation, Faeril?" He asked, "Unless you explain exactly what we're all doing here, bloodshed will be inevitable. I'll give the benefit of doubt to my new court, but unless you start explaining, Witch, I'll have no choice but to assume everyone in here is an agent of Dorothea and act accordingly."
He stiffened the moment he felt power bloom from Fatima's direction, instincts driving him to throw up his shields and turn to the source. He watched Fatima approach and sit on Dea Al-Mon's lap, his lips thinning as she spoke. He didn't expect his Queen to get involved in this. Lucivar was trying to diffuse the situation, albeit not as effectively as he would have liked, before the need for her intervention. He realized now he should've stayed quiet as that would probably have done more to lower the tensions in the room. He let the stress of the last couple days get to him and thus forgot himself. Still, something about all of that rubbed him the wrong way: how easy would it be to take them all down now? Three people who knew of already that were affected by Dorothea's madness were there with him, and if he were any madder he would say they were trying to form some sort of rebellion. Alas, he could only trust a few in the room.
The only ones were Fatima, simply because fate had bound him to her and it felt wrong going against that. Her and Vaclav and his escort if only partially because of what happened to their home. Everyone else were potential threats to his safety. Even this Faeril.
But, he took it no further and instead bowed to Fatima when she approached him. "My Queen," he said and stood, "None shall leave this place so long as you wish it." He hated saying it, but what else could he do? The need to protect his new Queen of his from the fate of the last was strong, and he needed to gain this one's trust, to be at her side at all times to prevent another tragedy. He couldn't do that by disobeying the first order she gave him.
The room grew hostile quickly after he'd arrived and he looked around frowning at the one named Gen. Ever since he arrived the day before these men that belonged to the proprietress were doing nothing more than antagonizing him, and now they were prisoners? Held because of some lofty ideals their Lady had claim to? It was a new day, he was trying to let go of yesterday's aggression, these were friends after all. He couldn't speak for the Dea Al Mon, but Vaclav and the woman with him must've gone through enough.
Lucivar felt a sort of responsibility for them. He couldn't foresee the destruction the Hyallian's caused, presumably destroying their homes, but he could try and help them here. "They're under my protection," he said, "if they wish to leave, they can. You can try to stop them, though I highly suggest don't.".
He turned his attention back to Vaclav and the Dea Al Mon, "What about your friend? I don't think I've ever seen your kind around these parts. What brings you to this residence?
Andressa
Andressa let herself be dragged by Fatima, giving a worried glance between Lucivar and this man Gen. He was a damned prickly man, Lucivar and she sometimes wished she could knock him over the head. Subtlety she always tried telling him, but the man was Eyrien and she supposed that his blood always drew him towards aggression. At the very least he was defending someone, but she turned her attention away from them and to Andressa and the other woman, offering a smile.
"Andressa," she offered the other woman as she sat in greeting, then turning to Fatima, "I've never made a potion. Truthfully, I've never had the need to. I mostly deal with State affairs and... well I'm particularly good and finding information if you need it."
Walking towards the kitchen, a step behind Andressa, the smells of the herbs being crushed and the lingering scent of burnt pancake mixed with coffee hit his nose. He could hear the small buzz of conversation as he drew closer, but even that didn’t prepare him for the amount of new people he saw. Two new men he’d never seen before, both of them with white hair, and one of them curiously a Dea Al Mon. Darkness, but Faeril really was planning something with all these people here. What that was he had yet to find out, but he was slightly put off by the appearance. There was another as well on a mat with Fatima, giggling, also with white hair. And the fact that his new Queen was so calm around these people helped put him at ease. Somewhat. She was still incredibly childish and pure, and there was a part of him that wanted to interrogate these new people, figure out who they were and what their business here was.
Lucivar could imagine Fatima’s displeasure at that. And why he suddenly cared about what she thought was a little off-putting, but to be fair, their entire first meeting was off-putting. Within moments of meeting her he was already bound to her by powers beyond his control and as her First Escort, he had a responsibility to protect her and her new fledgling Court. And playing dirty could compromise its integrity. He’d have to reign himself in, for the moment at least.
The mention of Queen Karlianne drew his attention to the man talking with the Dea Al Mon and he approached, seeing Andressa walk over to Fatima with the corner of his eyes. “So you heard about that, did you?” he asked with a polite, conversational smile, “Unless you were there when the attack happened, of course. Assassinated, unfortunately, right before my eyes. A bloody fucking mess, Darkness fend.” He held out a hand, “Lucivar DeLuxor, I was the Queen’s consort.”
The expedition was dreadful and cold. Their legs had been chained together and he was forced to bear the cold, frigid air of the north the entire trip, his cloak the only thing keeping him warm. Never during his travels had he been to a place so fucking cold, and trying to get used to it on the sea as they were was futile. The water would often crash into them, making whatever efforts they’d managed in keeping warm all that much more useless. It was only small comfort that he had a gambeson underneath his armour to keep him somewhat protected from the cold, not nearly enough however.
Still, he was brought up onto the deck as they arrived in the north. A dreary place, harsh and unkind to its people. Almost the exact opposite of where he grew up. Oh, this was just going to be fun wasn’t it? The smell of spices that constantly filled the air back home was gone, replaced with the brine of the sea and the scent of cold, hard stone spent too long in ice. The place looked, and even smelled cold. Everywhere was white, the few places that weren’t was where the mud had turned it brown and into some sort of slosh.
And everywhere Itkovian looked, people were looking back at them, huddled underneath layers of clothing and fur, their eyes cold and hard. Mistrusting.
Where the hell had they brought him? They told him he was to be seeking redemption and a part of him thought since he was given his weapons and armour that he was going to be fighting in some protracted war where the Order were desperate for recruits. Alas, that wasn’t the case. This was a freezing landscape and he had no idea what he was meant to do.
They were ushered out of the ship, Itkovian’s helm under an arm as they walked through the city. He heard the curses flung at him and tried to mostly ignored them, his mind wondering how he’d manage to turn this to his favour. It was certainly a dreary place, but something could be made of it, he just had to look for opportunities. At least for the moment they were going to be staying in a town, which was honestly better than what he’d initially imagined.
It seemed he spoke too soon however. The town wasn’t meant for them, but rather the city of tents was… and although it looked back, truth be told it wasn’t that bad. He’d lived in tents before while out with his mercenary band, but the cold was something he was going to have to get used to by himself. Which was going to take a while, and he was loathe to strip down to his small clothes for sleep during the night. How the hell were they going to manage that. Fuck.
They were ushered to meet the Captain, young looking fellow, and not nearly as charismatic as Brush Tath, but who would be under these circumstances. He listened to the Captain speak and his words were reasonable. Beyond reasonable actually, he’d never thought he’d come here and be told he was free, to do as he wished and only answer to one man. It seemed too good to be true. But he thought about it for a moment. The people here looked like they hated them, so what good that would bring he had no idea, and if he was in any way dishonourable, he’d try to escape. Which, undoubtedly, would lead to a slow death in the wilds.
He was in truth a prisoner here. He’d just have to find a way to make the best of it. “Aye, I agree to your terms, Captain,” he said, “seems reasonable enough.”
Things happen. Only way to survive is turning those things to your advantage.
Age: 24 Race: Human Origin: Keirous Appearance: Itkovian is a person of dark skin with a strange set of amber eyes that runs through his family, many of them saying it comes from their elvish ancestry. He stands at around six feet and three inches with broad shoulders, a wide back, and a dense physique that has some small amount of fat which serves to make him look bigger although he tries to hide the small but somewhat visible pot-belly he's earned. His hair comes in the form of dreads that fall just beyond his shoulders and a thick, but cropped and well-kept beard frames his face.
Personality: Many would say that Itkovian is a resourceful individual, and they would be right. His resourcefulness comes in the form of trying to turn everything that happens to him in his favour, whether that be immediately or slowly over time. He has an understanding, instilled in him from a young age by his parents, that life will serve him if he but only learns to grasp it by the reins and pull it along. He's stubborn by nature, and when his mind is set upon something it's almost impossible to sway him otherwise; which comes in handy when he tries to turn all the shit that happens to him in his favour. Naturally, he also has a good outlook on life. Where others may believe that life has dealt them a bad hand, he sees it as an opportunity to not only grow, but to show that he can get ahead with less.
Itkovian is also an ambitious individual. Highly ambitious with dreams of not only becoming powerful, but rich and highly respected. He's kind, but gruff and will do just about anything if the pay is right. He believes that morality is something that people restrict themselves by in order to conform with societal standards, and instead shapes the world in his own personal view of what he believes are worthy standards. That being of loyalty and trust. Those two, once earned from him are never given up, despite how much coin may be presented to him, and he is willing to go to the ends of the earth with those that have earned his loyalty and his trust. However, once they are broken they are broken forever, and if he has anything to say about it, they also end in the death of whoever betrayed his trust.
History: Itkovian was born to a powerful and prominent merchanting family in Keirous with ties extending the Kingdom of Iora and even having ties with The Order. His early childhood was spent in training as was a custom in their family, where he learned how to handle a sword, spear, and a glaive. The sword however being his best weapon, but because fighting wasn't a specialty of theirs, his skill was only passing and enough to defend himself with. Along with that, he learned commerce, business, and was put to studying the various trade routes and relationships that his family had. As he grew older, his father put him at the head of a caravan travelling to Iora.
It was during this trip, at the age of seventeen, that he met the mercenary band that he would eventually join. He talked the leader, paid him a few pretty coins and the caravan was thus guarded. During the trip, Itkovian would talk to the mercenary leader, Brush Tath, a large muscle-bound tiefling and slowly during the trip, Itkovian grew to like the mercenary lifestyle more and more. Once the caravan reached its destination, he sold their goods to several prominent merchant families within the Kingdom and more covertly, sold weapons and armour to the Order.
Once he returned home, he told his family of his desire to leave the family business and join a mercenary band. His mother tried talking out of it, but his father was all for it, saying that the harsh life would teach him to become a man. He left with a few coins and subsequently joined the mercenaries, where he expanded on his skills as a swordsman and even managed to learn some small amount of magic from one of the wizards in the band. Several years later he learned his sister was married off to a particularly powerful human legislator. He attended the wedding and wished his sister many sons and daughters before going off once more with the mercenaries; however he returned with a blazing sword several years later when he learned that his sister was being regularly beaten by her husband. He stormed their palace and hung the man at the front of his house with his bowels hanging dangling beneath his feet.
Itkovian confessed to the crime and was set for execution when he learned that his father made a bargain with The Order to keep him alive. He was let go but exiled to the north.

That's actually the main reason I went with minimum requirement for background. It doesnt take much digging at all to know where Georgia is from, but I would love to have some IC conversations.
I dunno. I actually like making my characters beforehand so that I know what they're like and can easily slip into their shoes at the start of the RP. Helps me realize who they are at the beginning, and from there start slowly building up their changes and developments as conflicts arise.
