Max sat behind the conjured sheild, taking a brief respite in the small reguge he had created for him and Sunshine. His breathing had slowed down as he could feel the aches catching up to him. He looked at Sunshine for a moment before his attention was pulled by the sound of crackling electricity. He couldn't fully see her but he knew Callie must've been nearby and attempting to fight off the Purifiers that lay before them. He was so worried about how badly he could mess up a shot, how much damage he could cause with a misplaced bit of magic, that he hadn't worried about fighting. He only wanted to make sure his team was alive and that they could leave to see another day. Not to mention that he didn't need anymore reason for Casper to turn his gaze from him. He knew it wasn't Caspers fault that he could see the ghosts of those that were killed, but it still felt cold everytime he avoided making eye contact.

Max let out a soft Tch as he heard Jacka two cents. "I wont lie to you. If I had killed her I'd probably of just killed myself after. I'm not in the habit of taking lives." He leaned his head back, trying to garner as much rest as he could before his next move. Hearing Jack complain about firing off a gun he began to wonder how thr detective ever managed. "Spread your legs into a triangle. We use that to stabilize ourself in photography when we dont have a tri-pod. Take aim but don't close your eye or it'll shift your target. Then pull the trigger and remember there's recoil. Really shooting a gun and shoot a photograph have a lot of similarities." I think. He wasnt actually sure if any of the information he gave out was sound advice, but it sure enough was true for photography and they seemed to be relatively similar principles.

Sunshine finally began to speak, saying Magik was her hero and he began to feel extremely awkward. So long as she didn't fully come to them he could let her believe that he wasn't the one to rescue her. Before he could do anything however there was a large crash. Max peered to thr side to see a car now in the building as Dr. Chan yelled at everyone to get out. It seemed the healing coupled with the loud crash was enough to bring Sunshine to as he told Max to let her die. "Sorry kid. Not gonna happen." It was now or never. Max began to heal her some more, doing much better than before and making her healthy enough to be able to move without worry. He was about to lift her out when he realized she'd probably kill him before he had the chance. "You should be good to move now, I seemed to be able to heal you most of the way through so you're not as critical. I think that car took care of the purifiers so how about we get out of here and to James and the car huh?"

Max slolwy stood up, his fatigue catching up to him once more as his legs began to feel like spaghetti and his head continued to pound. He took a deep breath before placing one foot in front of the other and making his way out. Now that the purifiers were dealt with he felt confident enough to speak out. "Sunshine is fine! She should be good to move! How's the getaway coming?"

Echo could feel the tension in the air as Waverly joined the fight. The Valkyrie seemed to be more oblivious than he was as to who these wannabes were and actually extended what seemed a friendly chat to them. Granted Waverly and Veil made sure to let her know otherwise. Echo wasn't fully involved in the lives of everyone at the Mutant Underground, but it appeared as though Havok had some major history with Polaris. He felt for the guy, really, but now wasn't the time for idle chatter when one of them was clearly a pyromaniac. Waverly seemed to change the tune of the radio, playing 'Uptown Girl' (One of Echos all time favorites) and then using its soundwaves to blast two out of thr three opponents. His eyes glimmers with excitement as he thought about the prospect of a new band mate or the very least teaching someone who had a similar skill set than he did. "Nice choice. I'd of gone with Elton John's 'Saturday Nights Alright (For Fighting)' but I will never turn down a good Billy Joel."

His face grew flush as Pyro began to flirt with him incessantly. It'd only been two months since the loss of his love and he hadn't really considered the prospect of another person let alone idle flirting. He was hot sure enough, and who didn't love a bad boy? But he didn't think he was ready to move on just yet. Echo did however speak flirtation as a second language so it would only be natural to flirt back and possibly garner an new ally. "You might be hot stuff there but are you sure you can handle all of me?" He motioned towards all his clones, giving Pyro a very suggestive wink to help drive the point home.

An extremely powerful blast came out of nowhere and little miss coven had managed to not only block it but deflect it and create a crater in the road. She was clearly a major threat and to be dealt with first. "Before we go and do all that however, hows about a little dance?" He caught onto the chorus of the song and condensed the waves into beams of UV Energy to be shot as Ana. Jerry and Harry seemed to miss their marks while Terry landed a blow but Barry really took it home. His pitch was just right as the beam bore through Ana's eye and killed her as it fried her brain. There was a mix of feelings bubbling inside of Echo now. He was glad to of taken down an opponent but upset that it was in death. Still...Billy Joel was playing and he was in his skates so... The man began to dance in place, singing along perfectly as he matched the pitch and carried on. "And when she's walking
She's looking so fine
And when she's talking
She'll say that she's mine

Man i love this song"

Matthew nodded towards Layla when offering to teach him how to throw knives or some other skill sets that she has. He tried not waver in his resolve before Maleficent of all people, if you could even call her that. Colby was right, any sign of weakness and they could eat him alive. So he had to stand there, in his ground, and be strong. If not for himself then at the very least for Colby. Suddenly a magicked barrier began to shower over them. Erecting in the space between the group and Pandoraand Maleficent. It seemed Merlin could clearly see the lines dividing them and knew she had chosen her side. It was a shame to see her go down that route, he may not of known her but Colby seemed to and if she hurt him down the line... It wasn't the time for thoughts like that though. They were protected by what has always been proclaimed to be the strongest wizard, sorcerer, mage, in existence. That meant they were as safe as one could be going up against her.

Maleficent looked straight at Matthew and his heart froze. It felt like an eternity had passed before it finally began beating again. His breath holding still and muscles tensing at that single glare. When she finally moved on and the green flames encircled them, his breath slowly released in a shaky manner as if he was in extreme cold temperatures. The flames danced in his eyes at they licked the barrier, his attention turning towards Maleficent when she began to speak. He wanted to ask Layla for a knife to throw, he was a good marksman and had quite the eye for targets, but something told him that provoking Maleficent and throwing the first blow would be a bad idea. But he only wished to disarm her from that crazy dagger in her hand. Colby stepped forward between he and the villain, making Matthew want to reach out and touch him. To tell him that he shouldn't and to get back. But the words fell silent in his throat and his hand didn't have the strength to reach forward, having only a single finger twitch.

Max watched on as his vision slowly began to sync back up. No longer giving him double vision as the varicose veins began to subside and his short shallow breaths grew longer and deeper as he regained control. His head began to pound as all the pain from before made its way out leaving only this phantom pain that resounded in his head. He almost didn't believe it when he watched Jack strutting into the room and disarming Magik. His eyes grew wide as he noticed the gun, worried of what might've happened had he not taken it sooner. There was a relaxed breath for a moment before he heard the metal tang of an item clink to the ground. All he could see in that moment was Sunshine kick away a small orb and then a bright explosion. Her body flew against a wall and she appeared to be injured from the hit. Before he was able to move to her there was the loud sounds of gunshots that tinged the air that was now ringing from the loud bang of the grenade.

His eyes blink a few times in an attempt to focus when he felt two hard hits against him. The pain was similar to a large punch hitting his shoulder and forearm. His left shoulder shook and bashed against the wall he was laying on, his right forearm following to do the same. It took him a moment to realise what had happened. He had been shot. Max took shallow breaths through clenched teeth as he looked at the wounds and then tilted his head back against the wall. Now wasn't the time for fighting. There were injured teammates within the firing zone and he needed tk help them out before anything. No sense in taking out purifiers if it meant losing teammates. He decided to try something new, after all what was healing but a form of Conjuration? Through gritted teeth he placed his left hand over the wound and began to use his powers to slowly stitch himself closed. It was no Cure Major but it proved to him it was possible.

Max turned his attention over towards Sunshine, making his way over towards her as he used any furnishing he could find to hide behind and sheilf himself on the way there. "Hey. Hey. Hold still ok, you seem to have a bad head injury but I'm sure James will be on his way, until then." He took a deep breath and placed his hand near her head as he attempted to heal her. The pain must've been excruciating because she seemed to be in distress as he saw the wound get worse. Max began to panic, not wanting another life of someone in his hands, and he tried once more. "C'mon c'mon please work please." There were tears in his eyes as his voice began to waver with fear and trepidation. The wound began to close up, shrinking down to its original size and then healing just a bit more past that. How did James do this? Everytime someone needed him he managed to help them and not endager them more. He would have to remember to give the man a hug for all his hard work.

Max leaned against the same wall as where Sunshine was thrown, slowly lifting up his right hand, shaking, as a he began to conjure up a sheild for the pair to use. "stay behind this sheild. Assholes have guns and i don't want to see you die ok? So just sit still and try not to exacerbate your injury." Max tried to think outwards, incase Glimpse was listening to any mind out there in an attempt to fight the Purifiers. [i]"If anyone can hear me, Purifiers have guns and sunshine is heavily injured. We need James, i don't know how long i can defend here."[/color] The illness and his powers had drained a lot from him, making him tired and a bit lethargic.

Barry simply took a few steps back away from Sapphire, not wanting to stay near her as he understood both what she might be feeling as well as how she may not want to be comforted by him right now. Echo hadnt gottent too close to many students while at Xaviers. He knew that she and Veil were close though and he only wished that he could help his little sisters friend in need. His heart broke for Cayden and for Sapphire, letting her leave to go and do what she felt was right. When Waverly approached Barry he felt even more uncomfortable holding Cayden. Between Sapphire and now Waverly he was afraid he couldn't take his body towards the Van as needed. He could see the denial in her eyes and Barry looked away as if to not show her his face full of grief so that she could cling to her fantasy for a moment more. The girl had already lost her mother, she didnt need to lose a friend too.

As that was going on Echo was dealing with a much different problem. The little green haired girl continued to show how edgy she could be as she spat out some other language and murdered the final purifier before him while looking at Echo dead in the eyes. His jaw wanted to drop, wondering where this child thought she was and who exactly she is. She had skills sure, but much like him when he was younger, she needed to learn control. Flames suddenly began to lick their faces as some Hellfire Club wannabees came strolling out of a car. They opened with a cheesy line and even cheesier display of power. "Careful now, I'd hate for you to singe my hair." He gave them a stern look as his fingers fiddled with his phone without even having to look. Echo had ordered from the Starbucks app more times that he could count and he knew exactly where it was on his phone and where the mobile order section is. His eyes glanced down as he quickly changed his first name to "Please get Dr" and his last name to "Watts out back". He ordered an iced venti 8 pump light ice chai and gave a generous tip of 50 dollars as he sent the order to the Starbucks before him. Hopefully they'd get the message and send them off to safety.

Echo cooked his hip to the side as he put his phone away. "Im sorry I don't mean to be rude but when you strolled up here demanding things of me I just had to check Google and Google maps to see if I can find where you got the audacity. As it turns out thats no where to be found so if you and your little motley crew would get out of our way we can all have a peaceful time hn?" He gave them all a terribly fake smile, the kind a Karen gives to an employee after berating them to get a manager. As he did his two of his remaining duplicates came out to join the fray in a hopefully intimidating fashion. Dammit Larry why don't you ever show up for band practice!?

Demetri lumbered over toward towards the Upper deck when they were summoned. He hadn't really cared much for all the chores that they had the demi-gods do. He hadn't agreed to go on what appeared to be a not so perilous journey (compared to what Zeke and the others were doing) just so that they could put him to work. Although he understood that they couldn't exactly move any faster, he felt that every day wasted aboard the ship was simply a day closer to the days that Thanatos had spoken of. Luckily for him, having gotten sick earlier had alloted him more time to shove off responsibility and just relax in his room alone. Those four hours were a bit of bliss, knowing full well no one outside that door had probably missed him else they would've invited him over for a spot of fun.

When he had finally made his way topside, it appeared that everyone else was already there. Alannah began to explain to them how the ship was fueled, Rebecca using her smarts to explain further what exactly it was that they were looking for. Demetri had to admit, this sounded like it could be quite a bit of fun and whats more he could hopefully pair off with Rebecca and watch her use her magic. However before he was able to grab her as a pair, it appeared thst everyone else had already started to team up. For a moment he was taken back to school, the days in gym when no one would want to pick him for any teams, leaving him the last to be forced into place. His eyes dropped low and he rubbed his elbow slightly as he awaited the inevitable awkwardness that followed being last. What he hadnt expected was for Jason to come up to him and ask to partner up.

Jocks didn't usually speak to, let alone want to join, those who were deemed nerds or lovers. Something he had been branded long ago. Jason however seemed to feel bad about their previous encounter, genuinely sorry for his behavior and Demetri had to remember that no matter what they were their godly parents. Jason didn't have to be a jerk and hot headed, he could actually be sweet. Demetri made his way over to Jason, giving him a gentle punch against his bicep. "Oye that sounds like it could be a spot of fun. Sure we can go all Ghostbusters together, just try not to cross the streams." He punctuated his joke with a little chuckle, really hoping that Jason understood the reference. "Anyroads, We can attempt to take some from the high ground if you'd like. I can try and turn into a Gryphon and fly us up so we arent all competing for the spirits lingering along the ground."

The trees lurched forward once more, the sign of their challenge drawing closer to failure once more. Thr mage seemed to be focusing on their spell, possibly the one drawing the scenery closer and the one needed to be struck down for a success or stay of time. Salem kept a calm and stoic face as he focused more on his magic, smiling once his glaive made contact with the vampires sword. He pressed forward with his weapon, feeling the emptiness of the vampire as he let go of his sword and unbalanced Salem. The sudden shift through his off guard as the vampire flew over Salems head and landed with a devastating blow to his center back. Salem could feel his bones pop, the cracking sound of his spine as he lunged forwaed from the hit.

He gripped his glaive with pained hands, a surge of needles shooting through his torso and down his arms and legs. Salem dug the pommel into the earth and used his weapon to help keep him upright. He turned to face the pair ensuring his back wasn't to wither of them. His breathe had quickened, trying to grasp at air that was knocked out from the blow. All he could do was maintain his hold on his magic and grow the blade a bit more as his breath grew raspy. "If ever there was a moment of time for you to join me, it'd be now Victor."

Interacting with:@ReusableSword

Salem watched the two masked beings closely, feeling the earth beneath his feet rumble as he could see trees both in his peripheral as well as behind the pair, shifting and moving closer to them. This was a challenge like any other, and if the previous one was anything to go by then the trees were the hard timer for them to either win or lose. The magic was enough of a distraction that when he had returned his attention, he noticed the vampire was now lunging towards him. His arm was grotesque in the way it was shaped, holding the sword at an odd angle and making for an unconventional form of attack. Salem held up his glaive, pointing it towards the swordsman at an angle in an attempt to either catch the blade within the glaives mouth, or to use the length of the shaft to block the sword and quickly disarm his opponent with a twist of the glaive.

Victor on the other hand didn’t seem too concerned with the fight that was currently raging on. He hadn’t joined in yet, only grabbing the obsidian axe as he made his way towards the cottage that was behind Salem. Salem had no idea what it was that his partner was doing, whether he was simply going up to the other Astorio to confront him, or perhaps he found another way to complete this task. Whatever his plan was he needed to do it fast before time ran out. As Salem prepared for the onslaught from the Vampire, He slowly allowed some of his magic to connect with the ground, growing up a long blade of grass slowly behind the mage’s leg in an attempt to help remove their mask without their partners notice.

Max wasn't sure what hurt more, the coursing pain of the M-pox he was infected with, or the fact thar Jack basically told him he had no friends. Yes, he was aware he had none and that James was more acquaintance than a real friend. But that didn’t mean it didn't still hurt him. He watched as Dr. Chan took Jack away from him, freeing Max up to be able to help the others. Glimpse managed to grab Callie, and Max was beginning to make his way towards Casper when James suddenly swooped in and took him to safety. Max looked about the room noticing there was no one left to help. There was a strong wind flowing from Callie and it lifted the fog of tear gas that littered the clinic. Max made his way over towards the doors, clutching his stomach as he looked for any Purifiers in the next room.

Having seen none, Max pressed forward calling back to James "I'm going to try and get Sunshine and Magik. She's in no condition to fight." He immediately thought to himself how he wasnt in any better condition to fight than she was, but that didnt meant he couldn't try to help her. He looked about the room, propping himself against a wall as his vision blurred and furniture doubled. There was no sign of Sunshine or Magik, and he didn't know why but there was a hint of sadness to that fact. He allowed his body to slowly slump downwards as he called out weakly to James. "I...I can't find them. They're not in sight." He blinked a few times trying to adjust his vision, full glad that the milk had stopped the stinging.

Echo continued to bob and weave on his skates as he attempted to avoid being hit. The small green haired child had joined the fight and lobbed off the purifiers arm. He wasn’t sure if he should be impressed or horrified at the situation that had just unfolded before him. Especially with their lack of concern and what appeared to be morbid curiosity towards the scene. The man himself, who was proclaimed as Sam, didn't even seem bothered by his wound. If anything Echo could swear he was back at Xaviers mansion in a simulator gone wrong. His sister had pulled up and knocked the guys lights out, asking if they were OK. "I'm fine Veil really." he answered reassuring until it dawned on him that she was speaking to the two others with them. "Oh. Right. You two should really find somewhere safer before those bruises become something much worse." Sure they showed potential, but unlike others he wasnt about to have children on the Frontline. Not when mutant hate was ramping up to the point that children weren't even viewed as such.

As if to punctuate his thought, Barry looked up towards Echo and spoke in a mournful tone. "Hey Hare, its Moonwalker." He didn't have to say anything more for him to understand what he meant. Cayden was dead, and they were able to help him fast enough. He was sure Sapphire had done all she could at the time, sure that there wasn't much else to do than to wrap this up and hope they got the help needed for the cure. Otherwise it was all in vain. Barry placed his hand on Sapphires shoulder, looking at her to let her know it wasn't her fault. "We have to go Sapphire. We can't stay here much longer." Barry lifted up Caydens body, holding him close so that he could have a proper burial later. "Havoc help those who need it to evacuate. You kids should really consider getting a move on two, and Veil help cover their escapes if you can. I'll hold down the line here until you can manage to get far enough away."

The curly haired girl had seemingly ignored him, which was fine. Matthew was used to being ignored or spoken over, if ever he did speak. She pulled out a frying pan from the chest and he couldnt help but wonder how unconventional of a weapon that was. Sure during a rain storm she could turn that frying pan into a drying pan, but aside from that it seemed...odd. He shrugged at the display as he began to fasten the sword to his belt, feeling the weight of it slowly lowering his pants as he tightend and adjusted the belt. Matthew lightly jogged towards Layla, sword swaying with each step, as he finally caught up to her. "I could certainly use some training if you two don't mind. I...uh...h-haven't wielded a weapon before." Matthew nodded towards Colby as he was handed a knife. He agreed that everyone should have something in the event of capture or incase they were split up. Its why he'd chosen to grab a weapon in the first place.

Merlin had finished the spell and a portal opened up before them. It was like what Tinker had done but on a massive scale. Maddies mouth formed the word 'Woah' as he silently admired the magic before him. It was as if he was staring at a screen displaying another site, except when Matthew went to touch it his hand went through. He wriggled his fingers and pulled his hand back, staring at it in amazement. Finally he took a deep breathe and stepped through the portal, eyes closed, and opened them when he noticed the air around him had shifted. It was as stagnat or dull as the warehouse. It was as if he was outside, eyes opening to reveal Maleficent and another that Colby seemed to know. Matthew was torn between hiding behind another or standing before Colby to protect him.

As Colby stepped forward, Matthews heart sank and he could scarcely recall what happened next. Before he had any time to think, his feet began to move without his saying and he stood adjacent to Colby, sword drawn sideways so that the back of the blade was before Colby, stopping him from advancing forward, and cutting anyone that dared near him. "S-stay where you are witch! Y-you won't harm a hair on his head!" His eyes darted about watching for any others around them. She seemed to be outnumbered, well that is unless she goes full dragon on them.

Demetri looked over at Alannah and Marygold after having finished emptying what little food remained in his stomach. He continued to dry heave for a few moments, his stomach convulsing as it attempted to free more debris. When he finally stopped he simply turned to the pair and waved weakly at them. Demetri viewed them with a thousand yard stare as his mind continued to think on the bigger questions of life. "Think I'll take you up on that..." There was no sarcasm, no hint of disdain, or mockery. No witty comment, or brash insult. It was very uncharacteristically not Demetri. He turned his gaze towards the stairs that would lead him into the rooms, knowing no amount of time in the sickbay could fix this issue.

As he made his way down the stairs he saw a whole gaggle of Demi-gods. Andy, Arthur, Rebecca, and even Jason, all standing about talking and he could catch the ending sound of laughter. He was glad to see his sister enjoying herself, his thoughts preoccupied with conflict to notice how Des was missing, rationalizing that she was likely in her room. He gave a weak smile and wave towards the group, largely looking at Rebecca and Andy and fully ignoring Jason's presence. Demetri didnt say anything as he passed them, remaining silent as he made his way into his room to sit down and attempt to relax his mind.
