Slowly -- but surely -- coming back from a long hiatus.
Better known by the name of Tsu. An "advanced" roleplayer with at least five years of experience on/off. In real life, he is a college student studying in Asia, majoring in design-related fields. Outside of this site, he's also a hopeless poet and an indie writer currently working on his first book (as and when he has the time and inspirations to write something). He is also active in the Harry Potter fandom through participating in fanfic competitions/challenges and building connections with gift fics.
INTP; a Pottermore-certified Slytherin but identifies himself as a Slytherclaw who is both witty and ambitious. Considers himself a Denpa Otaku -- a fan of animanga, visual novels and JRPGs, and he's as opinionated about what he likes and dislikes as every other fan out there.

Can I just say that I absolutely love Robin's - or rather, Nightwing's - sense of humor? (Probably rubbed off from BB haha)
I do have something else in plan for Rune's use of the time machine - for now it hasn't happen yet, but the side effects will surface much much later... I mean, so far it looks too convenient for her, but I'm not the type who would make life that easy for my own characters, muwahahaha.
Personally I don't find NYC or LA that appealing at all, but with the marketing propaganda thanks to Hollywood or the entertainment industry in general, they seem to be the most convenient locations to set any (modern) fictional story in.
I mean, anyone here interested to do RP set in...say, Hong Kong? /shrugs
By the time the cab finally slowed down and pulled up before her new home, Rune Langley was already very exhausted from the long ride. She stepped out of the car wobbling slightly, her legs numb from being cramped in the seat for hours. After she picked up her duffel bag from the trunk and sent the driver off with a tired wave, she glanced down at the crumpled paper in her right hand: a printed map of Jump City, and a scrawny note from Beast Boy.
She smiled to herself, recalling her first encounter with the strange hero.

The siren blared furiously throughout the underground lab, hammering against Rune's ear with waves after waves of deafening wail. She swore under her breath. Talk about bad timing. Her fingers picked up speed as they danced across the holographic keyboard; with each tap the neon light was changing from red to green. Almost there.The last bolt retrenched with a low rumble and the reinforced metallic door hissed, slowly sliding open to reveal the very thing that she had been searching for.
It was quite a sight for the teenage girl: in the middle laid a huge, transparent cylindrical tube filled with water-like liquid; thick, heavy pipes sprouted out from both ends of it, connecting to a monstrous machine behind, which seemed to be built into the wall. She couldn't help shivering at the cold air blasting at her slim frame from within the room.
It wasn't the kind of time machine that she had expected, but she didn't have much time left to ponder about such trivial matters. She slammed her fist against the emergency lockdown button and the sliding doors closed in, waving smugly at the angry soldiers thundering towards her from far ahead. Once she was safely cut off from the chaos outside, she turned her attention to the complicated panels on the enormous device.
Awesome, she thought sarcastically. Her contact only divulged the existence and location of this thing, but didn't mention anything on how to operate it. The muffled ruckus from beyond the door made her breath quicken - she had made it this far after losing almost everything, and she's definitely not going back to square one. Without a second thought she flicked on the switches to maximum output and the whole room rumbled, the machine humming to life. The liquid in the tube began to bubble, and for a split second Rune thought she saw flashes of images of a warless past swirling in the murky-white mixture.
As she was about to insert herself into the tube, the door suddenly groaned and caved inwards. The soldiers seemed to be setting off explosives to blow the door apart, to get in here. In that moment of distraction she lost her footing, falling head-first into the liquid. She struggled blindly for a short while before she realized she could actually breathe in this strange water. Once she calmed down, she felt the liquid swallowing her whole, a torrent of blurred colors and intelligible whispers bombarded against her head, the molecules of her body screaming to break apart...
She was vaguely aware of the door being blasted apart and the soldiers charging into the room, before she disappeared in a flash of blinding light.

Rune couldn't remember what happened after the soldiers barged into the lab. Her head felt heavy like lead, her body felt sore and numb - she shuddered at the sudden thought that she was being torn apart by the liquid in the time machine. She took in a deep breath and opened her eyes.
The smell that filled her nose was different from the stench of blood mixed with gunpowder and rust she grew up in; the things that filled her vision seemed ancient, almost foreign to her. She sat up, amused that she was lying on a wooden makeshift table, and a quick glance around her told her that she was probably in some sort of abandoned building, noting the odd screws and broken glass shards littered on the concrete floor. Her eyes zoomed in onto something ahead that was fluttering in the light breeze.
Isn't that...a newspaper?
She slid off the table and walked towards the yellowed paper, picking it up gingerly. Her mouth curled into a grin at the date.
"Feeling better?"
Startled by a voice behind her, she spun around, the barrel of a submachine gun ejected from her prosthetic arm pointing at the green figure before her.
"Whoa, whoa," the figure raised up his gloved hands. "That's really some nasty thing you've got there." His wide, dark eyes fixed on the gun.
She narrowed her eyes at him.
"Uh, yeah, introductions." His lips twitched into a lopsided smile, accented by the little jut-out lower tooth. "I'm Beast Boy. I happened to pass by when you suddenly fell down from the sky and landed in front of me. I tried to wake you up, but you just kept thrashing around mumbling about things I couldn't understand. So I carried you here."
The girl lowered her arm, the barrel sliding back beneath the pale, porcelain skin. "Runé," she said, unconsciously emphasizing the last syllabus. She then let out a loud sigh. "Jeez, please don't scare me like this. There are a lot of things I want to ask you..."
Bad news: I was planning on setting this up today, but looks like I won't get a chance till tomorrow :(

I'm curious as to what kind of ideas you two have in store from your brainstorm discussion. ;) Well, actually I think I need you two to brief me first so that I know exactly what to expect for this RP, haha.
I'm more inclined to do HP roleplays set post-Hogwarts War or the Next Gen. Not so fond of doing Harry's timeline or the Marauders Era because I prefer to avoid close ties with canon so I can have some room to explore Rowling's world beyond what's established in her books.
Haha the Phoenix I was referring to in my previous post was the comic version; I actually preferred the movie's take on the Phoenix power, which is just a split personality of herself due to the psychic blocks Prof X placed in her rather than some cosmic creature who came to possess Jean. Unfortunately the movie didn't develop that well, which is really disappointing.
Noted. Hmm I guess for consistency sake I'll just use real images like you for this RP, or some realistic game characters if the suitable real pic is hard to find.
I love consoles - sadly my parents are pretty strict so I don't own home consoles, only portables. If I want to play on home consoles I'd have to go over to my buddies' house.
I hope you don't mind me going slow on this - I like to solidify the RP plan before we begin proper, not jump start on a shaky foundation and then things get to nowhere later because of that. I've had impatient rpers walking out on me when I refused to start without reaffirming the finer details first.
Totally agreeing with you on "no Professor X" - and especially no Phoenix. If Meyer's sparkly vamps made me flip, then I'd say the same for the whole Phoenix thingy in X-Men universe. Cosmic or not that is pure OP shit imo. I liked X-Men because the lines between hero and villain are blurred compared to the other superhero titles, but when they throw in the Phoenix bit... Wtf?
Was thinking of having two of my characters being "fraternal twins" of some sort (not biologically speaking, just that they have this gift which allows them to share empathy links with each other or something)... For my lineup it's 1 female and 3 males, with the lady being the mother hen of the coven. Do you prefer using pictures or describe your character's appearance using words? If pics, real or animanga? Personally I don't have any restrictions as to what medium my partners wish to use to depict their characters, but I find a lot of rpers here are not fond of animanga unless the RP is anime-based. Also, do you have a CS template you would like me to follow, or I'm free to make my CS in my own style?
I actually ditched the book at the sparkling part, but I'm the type who would try to finish the book series no matter how shitty it is, so in the end I read them all... It wasn't even a great time-killer, honestly. Oh well. I'm not much of a fan when it comes to high European fantasy - I grew up with Asian fantasy. I tried reading LOTR long ago and remembered complaining to my friends how boring that book was lol. I felt better off watching the movie than to plow through the long-winded books ^^;
I'm not sure - I am a gamer, but I don't like to play games on PC (as an art student my comp is already cluttered with heavy designer softwares - the last thing I need is to throw in a game and then my computer crashes). I prefer to game on consoles, or mobiles since in recent years there are more good games being developed for smartphones.
Yeah, I mean this is not DC or Marvel, so no need to go that far imo. ^^;
Rare gifts that are not common in books or films huh - I was only thinking of going with psychological abilities that are not explored in the canon series, but to really come up with something unique...I have some research to do. XD

I think I did - after googling it was released before I was born haha, so I'm too young to appreciate that game. (Ok not that young either - I'm already past 20.) We can go with a system similar to World of Darkness, but more simplified to fit the context of this RP better.
