Slowly -- but surely -- coming back from a long hiatus.
Better known by the name of Tsu. An "advanced" roleplayer with at least five years of experience on/off. In real life, he is a college student studying in Asia, majoring in design-related fields. Outside of this site, he's also a hopeless poet and an indie writer currently working on his first book (as and when he has the time and inspirations to write something). He is also active in the Harry Potter fandom through participating in fanfic competitions/challenges and building connections with gift fics.

I admit that I can come off as a really intense person - because I'm a hopeless perfectionist. Sometimes I may be unconsciously rude, so if I am too harsh on you, I apologize in advance.

Hmm...like you English isn't my native tongue. For me besides the dictionary (mostly I use it to check spelling and the meaning of words to make sure I don't use them wrongly), you can try reading books. Not just a few personal favorite books, but from as many different genres as you can. Study and take down notes on how the different writers write their stories and learn from there. Of course, keep practicing. :)

Nobody taught me how to write a damn poem. The standard of English taught at my school was laughable. I actually learned the language on my own armed with a frigging dictionary when I was in primary (or elementary for Americans) school.
Back in secondary (middle in US) and high school I was so tempted to "insult" my teacher by trying to write a "poem" using Math formula.
Suffice to say, of course that didn't work, because it's a stupid idea. XD

On the topic of posting length, nothing amuses me more to see someone who implements such a rule:
And then I start seeing people stringing all the characters' dialogues together into one huge wall of text dump in order to meet that requirement.
I don't have a prob with borderline Mary Sues/Gary Stus - as long as they will be subjected to deconstruction (and a dose of mind rape) to beat some sense into them that no one is perfect.
However, if anyone tries to present a flawless God Sue into my roleplay, you're asking me to educate you why God Sues shouldn't exist.
(Note the sarcasm, peeps.)
...at least 4-5 paragraphs, each paragraph containing at least 10 sentences.

Man, am I sick of Gary Stus and Mary Sues. So many edgy teenagers who also happen to be "master archers" or "master swordsmen" or "master martial artists" and they're all "wise beyond their years" and they're good at everything and everything goes right for them and there are no consequences for their actions and they have no flaws or if they do they really don't matter anyway. Clusters of cliche and self-insert fantasies.
I miss originality.
