Fandoms You Like/Dislike

Fandoms I like:

• CLAMP. I have mixed feelings about their works - some of their manga are great, but some are just eh - but the people I met in this fandom are all really civil and respectful to each other.

Fandoms I dislike:

• Undertale. I get a dictatorship vibe from this fandom so strongly that only made me to avoid this fandom at all costs. I'm really pissed at how fans and players of this game are like (1) forcing people to play if they have yet to play the game, and (2) forcing you to play in a certain order or certain routes because "that's the only right way you can play this game". WTF?
• Fate/stay night. The game is cool, but the hardcore fans are surprisingly rather stuck up when someone accidentally triggers a debate about the Servants' level. Not helping if you make a comment about how convoluted the franchise has become now.
• Code Geass. It's a decent anime, but the Lelouch fans are savage.
• Vocaloid. While everyone around me worships Miku, Rin and Len with ear-bleeding screeches, I'm just in the corner with my three goddesses: Luka, Gumi and IA. Go figure.
• Percy Jackson. The book series is pretty oh-kay as entertainment and not to take too seriously, which is fine... When it comes to the fanfics and roleplays, I think I'd stick to the books and pretend the fandom didn't exist, at all. Because they are so horrible that stretches my suspension of disbelief beyond disbelief.
• Marvel/DC. Especially so in my region where they are pretty much animanga haters and call Japanese art bullshit. Excuse me, do you know that the dynamic paneling you see in recent Marvel/DC comics are based on Japanese manga style?
• Madoka Magica. You call getting her head bitten off 'dark and gritty'? How about me not seeing the logic of how a 12-year-old brat girl whining for 11 episodes straight then suddenly she gained some super-wisdom out of nowhere and becomes a goddess of the universe? Don't get me wrong - it is a decent anime on its own, but the fandom is a different story. Watching it objectively on my own it's cool, but when you get the fans who're trying to brainwash you into worshiping the anime, now that's not cool.

Fandoms I'm mixed about:

• Harry Potter. I loved the books, and I admit I'm a Potterhead myself; I've even met some nice fans and we become friends... but that doesn't mean I embrace everything about its fandom. One, I don't like the shippers who pretty much snap at everyone else who may not agree with their opinion; two, the fanfic writers and roleplayers who wasted such an expansive world and lore for their petty little angsty or smutty wet dreams.
• Pokemon. It's my childhood - like, I watched the anime and played the card games - but when Pokemon GO went viral it is really irritating to have people trying to catch a fucking Pidgey on my shoulder in the train. Get a life, seriously.
• Haikyuu. Don't get me wrong - I really love the animanga, and probably the only sports genre work that genuinely got me so hyped up - but the yaoi fangirls are scary. And I got judged for liking this animanga because I'm a dude reading/watching something that has a 99% male cast. So they think I'm gay. What kind of shitty logic is this???

Well it's a 1x1 so no issues with any other players really, and they seem okay tbh because we talked about the plot and everything beforehand, and they're posting for other characters in other places and kinda moving the plot forward there but for some reason they refuse to post for other characters so we can move THEM forward which is just really annoying and a bit...weird O.o

That's really odd... If you guys have discussed things beforehand, then why is that player not doing the things that have already been discussed? Or to put it bluntly: what the hell is that player's problem? XD

The society I live in doesn't tolerate clashing with people, so I don't have much of a choice... especially with how group-oriented most of my college projects are, so yeah.

Not directed at anyone on this site, rather someone I'm roleplaying with on another site. But...when you're trying to advance a plot or a certain group of characters forward in an RP and somebody just stops replying to it or removes their characters from the setting for no good reason and basically refuses to help the damn plot move forward >_<

I'm not sure if that player might have some issues with the RP or certain players that caused him/her to make such a move, so maybe talk to them and see what's the true problem behind that?

On the other hand, RPing with leeches who always take the back seat and not helping constructively to push the plot forward with the other players is really vexing. Like, if you'd rather be a spectator than a participant, then why are you joining the RP for?

Vice versa: when everyone has already advanced the plot forward, some guy suddenly came back from a long disappearance to force their character into the rising action in a cringe-worthy contrived way. Like, if they actually bothered to discuss with the GM and took the GM's advice to get their character back into the game in a logical, natural way, everyone would gladly welcome the player back... instead of doing the complete opposite, and made us wonder what the hell that BS post was about.

Another bitching but from a different RP site: not that I have an issue with melodramatic characters, but everyone is playing a brooding, angsty type that it's difficult to strike up any interesting conversation or character development with them, because all I keep feeling from their characters was to stay far far away from them and ignore their existence. Which I'd gladly do so since all their angsty shit is really making me bored with their childish depressing crap. Grow up already, dammit. (And it didn't help that I'm playing a child character due to the RP setup, and honestly no kid would want to deal with angsty teens and their petty emo nonsense.)

Really appreciate the understanding. I'm no good when people start rushing me for my work lol. For the game, it's less about people not following rules since I can understand that it's Spam Board so shitposting is pretty much "legalized" here, but more about how they just don't read properly. (Hey, it's not even in fine print, for goodness sake!) Also, I forgot to tell you that I have interest in the mystery roleplay you're setting up, and you already know that I am a sucker for this genre. :P Just asking if it's more towards casual or advanced? I'm more of an advanced RPer, and I prefer a weekly posting schedule - anything shorter will stress me out because I still have college and school projects. I absolutely love collabs over pbp (play-by-post).
