Interacting with: @Mara’s Ghost

Marissa smiled cheerfully at having her company be accepted, and eagerly took a seat next to her classmate. This particular bench wasn’t very spacious, so Rissy ended up sitting closer to Alexander than she thought. It didn’t bother her, though, and she hoped it didn’t make him uncomfortable. In all honesty, the short distance between her and this very attractive young man made her feel a little bit nervous. Back home, all of her interactions with the opposite sex had not only been limited (as seen in her attendance to the all-girls boarding school back in Spain), but the few ones that happened were heavily supervised by the watchful eye of her family members. As a member of the royal families of both Belgium and Monaco, expectations of behavior were very strict. For Rissy, there had been no dates, no first kiss, no talking to your crush between classes or lunchtime or after school... In fact, in her eighteen years in this world, this was the first time Marissa was interacting with a boy unsupervised.

It felt pretty good.

Apparently Alexander had noticed the Sprinkles cup in her hand, because he asked about the contents of her drink. At her nod confirming the cup’s contents were indeed hot chocolate, he mentioned how adding mint -or orange of all things- syrup could make the drink’s flavor take a new dimension. This earned the boy a raised, curious eyebrow. Marissa had forgotten he was a barista at Sprinkles, so it shouldn’t have surprised her that he would know all about the possible ways you could spice up your preferred drink. But, of course, this detail had slipped her mind.

“Orange?” she repeated doubtfully. “The mint syrup I can understand, because the pairing of mint and chocolate is a rather delicious combination I enjoy occasionally. But as to orange… I am not sure that would be a flavor combination I would enjoy too much.” she giggled, taking a sip of her hot chocolate.“But actually, this is not just your average hot chocolate. I happened to request a pump of hazelnut syrup to give it a Nutella-like taste. Have you tried that combination?”

She turned to him with the smile still in place, but upon seeing his dazed expression, Marissa’s smile fell a little. Was she talking too much? Was his interest dwindling because he found her annoying? Her paranoid mind began to race with all the possibilities, but they were quickly put to rest. Thankfully, Alexander seemed to notice the awkward silence that had started to set, because he quickly clarified his actions were due to lack of sleep.

“Oh, that’s quite alright.” Marissa replied, letting out a little sigh of relief. “I thought I might have been boring you.” she admitted, the slightest bit of color rising to her cheeks. Rissy quickly looked away, trying to hide her face before Alexander could catch a glimpse. “But yes, I can relate. My past night’s sleep was not the best either.”
@Taytay @Ejected both accepted, and love the concepts! Will be good additions to spice up this RP. 💖

The naturally indifferent Soleil Jameson was having a hard time keeping her composure as her Moon slowly made his way to where she stood next to Owen. There he was, walking over to her in the usual confident swagger that made her swoon. That lean 6’0” frame that slightly towered over her when they embraced. The curly dark brown hair she loved to run her fingers through. The jawline so sharp it could cut through one’s very soul. The dark skin she’d been running her hands around for the past year and a half. The full lips that set her body ablaze wherever they came in contact.

But the moment he locked those stunning brown eyes on hers and smiled, Shady used up all of her self control to not start bawling and jump straight into his strong arms.

She was smitten, all right, with the one and only Kayleb Carson: the young man who’d managed to tear down every single one of the walls she’d built to keep herself safe with a single look.

Finally, here was her Moon.

However, before he could approach her, someone else entered the fray. It was an old face, but someone Shady was very much familiar with. Back in her freshman year, she had fallen into the trap of an upperclassmen, resulting in the loss of her virginity and trust for anyone in the romance department. Things hadn't lasted for more than a week, but the lesson had been enough to make Sol swear off relationships and focus her energies on the gym instead.

Then came Kay... But that was a different story.

The older teen was making her way towards the entrance when she gave Sol a knowing smile. Flashbacks of the few times they were together flooded Sol’s mind, but they were instantly pushed away. Shauna Flynn, although the first one to introduce her to the pleasures of life, had been nothing more than a beginners mistake.

Never again.

"Soleil. Always good to see a familiar face."

“Oh, I'm sure.” she replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes and shaking her head before turning back to the parking lot while Shauna walked away.

She hoped to God Kay hadn't seen this, prayed the crowd coming through the door had blocked his view. On the times they had gone out on dates (very far from the Hills, to avoid being spotted), the young man had proven to be quite the protective jealous type. Soleil very much knew Hell would freeze over if her moon had witnessed the exchange.

As Kay readied his approach to the sun, a shadow cast over his vision and blocked the rays of light. It was Shauna… Fucking Shauna Flynn: the one who stole what was Kay’s. She’d taken the cookie, robbed the bank, shook the fucking cradle, and took something that rightfully belonged to him. To say he disliked her was an understatement. She could go die, for all he cared, and Kay meant that. It took a lot to get under Kay’s skin, but that woman seemed to do it. And Sol knew that.

It was too late. Kay had seen the moment shared by the two of them. He did not care if it was just in passing or something small. The moon’s surface had already begun to heat, and he was only getting hotter by the second. Fuck discretion, fuck the lie: Sol was his and she had somehow forgotten that in his absence.

There are many different reasons as to why Kay took the next few actions. He missed sol, he was slightly aroused, his manhood felt challenged, and he did not like Shauna Flynn. So with his mind and face set in steel, Kay walked over to Sol and stood a few feet from her and Owen.

“... Sol, come here.” His voice was even and calm, his face set in stone... But his eyes were pools of light chocolate anger. He was pissed and it was evident. Kay did not care if Sol wanted to say hidden. He did not care what anyone else said. Soleil was his, and Paris made him realize how much he needed her, what he was willing to give to make that happen.

A sinking feeling washed up inside Sol as she saw Kay walking up to her while giving her the look. She'd heard the stories about his anger from him and his brother from two other mothers Henry, but had thankfully never witnessed it first-hand, much less be the target of it. To her horror, it seemed that tonight her luck had run out, and she knew there would be no way to get out of it.

“What do you want, Carson?” she asked, deciding to play dumb to see if he would drop it. She crossed her arms in front of her chest, giving him a scowl.

“Well Jameson, why the hell were you talking to Shauna? Did you forget about something important, or should I remind you?” Kay’s voice and face stayed the same, but eyes only got worse. One would think the anger would pool over and pour down his face like tears.

Shooting back with the last name and everything? That was a new one...Soleil raised an eyebrow at him, letting out a disbelieving laugh. She wasn't going to let him get to her. She had done nothing wrong. Jameson doesn't owe you any fucking explanations, Carson. Who do you think you are, asking for them, anyway?”

“Oh… Who am I?” Kay said with a sick smile. The smile seemed to only stress his anger and not cover it, but then he dropped it. “Maybe you forgot about the dude dicking you down every other day of the week. You know, the guy who FUCKING LOVES YOU!! But whatever, though. Who the fuck am I, right? Kay said with a raise of his voice. He was done playing games with the woman who owned his heart. She need to “man-up” and claim her prize before it left. He loved Sol like nobody's business, and it was that lack of a concrete foundation that made him insecure and vulnerable.

Noticing that keeping up the act had done nothing but light up the flame, Sol decided to drop it and get on the defensive. It didn't even register with her that he had just outed them in front of everyone. It was the fact that he was making a scene for no goddamned reason that was getting to her, blocking her from seeing reason.

“It is NOT like that, Kay, and you fucking know it. I didn't do anything wrong, you fucking psychopath. I didn't even smile at her!” she spat, very much angry herself now: the excessive use of the word ‘fuck’ and the constant use of hand gestures like pointing attested to this. At the moment, anyone who knew Sol’s mother Sierra could see the similarities between mother and daughter. Her green eyes were ablaze, her usually light-skinned face tinged with red. “Do you really think I would go back to that when you've got me wrapped around your fucking finger for the last one and a half fucking years?! Wake the fuck up, Kay. I'm not going anywhere.”

“Great! Fucking awesome. It's too late for you to run, anyways: everyone knows now. Your ass is mine, Soleil Jameson.” Kay said with a bold smile, before he grabbed her by the waist and kissed her hard on the lips. Call it a impulse or him just marking what's his, but he did it. Kay wanted to convey the burning passion he had for Sol through that kiss- and every single one after, for that matter. Fuck the school and her reputation. After tonight, Sol was his, and he wanted everyone and their mothers to know it.

To say she was expecting what happened next was a lie. But to say she hadn’t secretly wanted this all along was also a lie. The moment Kay grabbed her by the waist and kissed her, Sol forgot everything else. She kissed the caramel skinned boy back with no abandon, running her fingers through his curly dark hair and closing the distance between them as much as she could with her other one. She had fucking missed him. Sixteen days without him had been enough for her to realize that, frankly, she couldn't live without this man. Kayleb Carson was everything she'd always wanted and more, and she would be damned if she lost him.

She didn't know how long they stood there, arms around each other, but it was only when their lips were sore that the two lovers finally let go. Shady was still very much in cloud nine when she found her voice and was finally able to speak up.

“I love you, you selfish prick.” she said to him, giving him another kiss. It was the first time she’d ever said those words aloud to him, and she figured it was as good as any moment to do so. “Don't you ever fucking do this to me again.”

"I love you too, you masculine bitch. This is a relief. Now I can hold your big, manly hands in public, it’s gonna be great."

The moon was on its way tonight.

And Soleil knew it was bound to be as stunning as always. It had been a while since she’d last seen it, and every time they were apart for an extended period of time, it always seemed to shine extra brightly upon its return. After they’d helped Ariana organize the snacks for the party, the members of The Elite had been given the green light to be free to do as they pleased. Shady had chosen to silently ‘stand guard’ next to Owen, using the excuse of keeping him company for her own hidden reasons. The truth was, she wanted to have a clear view of the parking lot to make sure she was present to see when the moon made its much awaited arrival.

The first time Shady saw the moon, back in her sophomore year, the connection had been instant. The raven-haired teen had been smoking a blunt by the side of beach, taking a breather from the raging back to school party happening at Henry Green’s place at a few minutes distance. It was then when the moon had approached her, riled in by the scent of cannabis. The two had shared the blunt and dysfunctional family stories, a strong bond slowly being built. With every second that passed by, the tension that had pulled them together grew, up until the point it could no longer be contained or denied. By the end of the night, all hesitation had been abandoned, and they’d ended up in each other’s arms.

And from that night on, Soleil and the moon became lovers.

Their liaison was kept in secrecy, as to not disrupt the order of their universe. But every few days, unbeknownst to the world, they met, and loved each other until their spirits gave way. They were addicted- not just to each other, but to the way they felt whenever they were together. Yet every night, after all was said and done, Soleil lied awake, trying to put a name to just what these exact feelings were. There was no use in denying that they were nonexistent. With the moon, Shady felt she could show a side of her no one else had even seen. She felt her personality soften, becoming fragile, vulnerable, and hopelessly enamoured all at the same time. In all honesty, she enjoyed the warmth the moon brought to her abrasive nature. It was a much needed breath of fresh air.

Yet there was always the nagging worry of opening up too much. If anything else, Soleil was deadly afraid of confronting her feelings and exposing herself to possible heartbreak. She’d seen how in love Owen had been with Beatrix, and how that love had meant nothing but pain for him in the end. She’d seen how her mother’s love for her father had caused her so much suffering, and how broken she’d felt after the two had decided it was too toxic to go on. But then she remembered of how her mother had decided to give herself a chance with Jason, and how much happiness they’d brought each other ever since. In the end, the conflicting perspectives had caused Soleil to turn a blind eye to her feelings towards the moon, and to simply avoid to put a name to was going on between them. It had been that way for a year and a half.

What was a little more time being safe just the way they were?

In the present day, a familiar vehicle was pulling into an empty spot of Henry’s parking lot. Shady’s mouth instantly curled up in a smile, and she unconsciously caressed the small space behind her right ear, where a recently inked black moon tattoo could be seen. The waiting was over. The long-awaited moment would to a close.

The moon had finally arrived.
