Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Konpaku Youmu

The sudden burst of force was unexpected, to say the last, sending Youmu careening through the air and rather surprised. However, if she couldn't handle this she wasn't much of a member of the Konpaku family, was she? Her boots hit the side of the building, and in the few moments that she was there she made a quick decision. Hakuroken had no effect. This demonic being had no soul. She swiftly sheathed the smaller blade and placed her now-free hand on Roukanken's hilt, eyes narrowing. She'd never participated in a lethal fight before, but she had trained for the event of one. Much of her melee danmaku training could be applied to a fight like this, and the small half-phantom girl had trained for both lethal and nonlethal combat regardless.

Her target was dead ahead.

Youmu pushed off the building. There was a sound like a thunderclap, and an enormous backdraft from the speed she instantly gained on leaping from the wall. It would be impossible to make out anything but a white-and-green blur, perhaps with a greyish one behind it, for an instant before there was a silvery flash as she reached the red demon man. Then she hit the cobblestone street and immediately rotated in place, holding Roukanken at the ready as she slowed to a halt. The bushes and trees planted nearby rustled from the backdraft of her leap.

Her attack had been a simple one, aimed at the demon man's gut in a bid to completely bisect him at the middle. If it hadn't worked, then she could quickly follow up from her position, possibly by using her phantom half to attack as well this time.

Some people are still working on getting stuff out.
@Wraithblade6: She's wielding both, Roukanken in her right hand and Hakuroken in her left.

Hakuroken ignores armor and directly attacks the spirit but does no physical damage and can't kill unless you're nothing but a spirit. Roukanken is just... absurdly supernaturally capable of cutting things.
Youmu's not buying any of this, and D.Va is confident as ever.
Konpaku Youmu

This demon-like creature was indeed powerful. But he was, insofar as the half-phantom could tell, boasting of raw power. No specific abilities, except perhaps some kind of psychic power judging by that display. While he was intimidating, he wasn't a ghost, and that gave Youmu further confidence. She could fight power. She could beat power. She didn't really understand some of the things he was saying, about some corpse emperor or whatever(it sounded like some sort of villain from those manga Yuyuko-sama liked to read), but she was fairly certain there wasn't much to understand. Most of it sounded made up from whole cloth, lies in order to try and get out of the fight he'd been clearly intending on starting, with a prisoner no less.

She didn't really have time to answer the rubberman. No, the previously injured newcomer was already being taken away. In Youmu's mind that meant she had to act as quickly as possible. And acting quickly was something she was, really quite accomplished at. Her phantom half wavered behind her as she squared up her feet.

"There is no Corpse Emperor, and there are no armies. The only enemy here is you!" the small white-haired girl declared, dust cast up from her feet. "Turning Angle Cut!"

A brilliant light shot out from the edge of Roukanken as she swung it, seemingly harmlessly blazing into the air before suddenly, sharply turning inwards and shooting directly towards the demon man. But that was only half of Youmu's attack. Her phantom half streaming behind her, she exploded forward with a burst of speed, appearing at the opposite side of the red man's body and swinging her katana towards him. First Hakuroken, with its nonlethal but painful direct attack on the target's metaphysical presences, and then Roukanken, with its supernatural cutting ability. Even if none of the blows hit, it was surely a distraction, and Youmu's agility could allow her to follow up just as swiftly if she had to.

There was some kind of bad guy coming along? Well, whoever it was, D.Va had nothing but confidence in her ability to defeat them. That was only logical. She had such a high combat rating back home for a reason after all! And teaming up with an original member of Overwatch? That was going to kick some serious butt! D.Va grinned proudly in her MEKA. "It's just like s boss, right? We'll take him on before he can hurt anybody!"

D.Va gave herself a firm nod. She was sure she'd be MVP, no question. They just had to meet him wherever he was and stop him before he got to any civilians, right? That's what her and the other pilots did back home, and that's what they would do now. Even if one guy was really tough, they were a party, and a party with her in it, no less. D.Va was certain they would beat him back!

I am bad at remembering to tag. D:
Tachibana Hibiki

"Ah? Chris-chan..."

Hibiki frowned as her hug attempt was dodged and countered with Chris grabbing her arms instead. However, it was only a few more moments that the situation got serious. Well... even more serious, it was already kind of serious. Hibiki wasn't exactly good at recognizing weaponry, but she believed Chris when she said that those soldiers were carrying flamethrowers. And she did know that flamethrowers weren't legal weaponry to just be carrying around as a soldier. Which meant that these people must have been up to something bad... but why? Why would they do that sort of thing? She'd have to try and understand them, even if that meant beating them up first to make them stop.

Hibiki nodded, but her attention was briefly stolen away by someone else. A girl with some kind of sword? She didn't look like she was from around here either... wherever here was. All Hibiki knew is that there were a lot of people who needed help around here, and they definitely didn't need soldiers carrying illegal weaponry...

"Ah? Hi! Eh-heh, er, Chris-chan and I are going though..."

She wasn't exactly sure what to say as the slightly smaller girl made to start dragging her off, but they had to catch up to those soldiers, didn't they?

Nishimura Yuki

Yuki couldn't stop her jaw from dropping, her eyes shining at the sight of Shining Hero Celestial's dramatic, heroic posing. She was a real Kamen Rider-style hero! Prior to becoming a magical girl, that was what she'd wanted to be. Sure, she learned just how awesome being a magical girl was, but that didn't mean she'd forgotten how awesome something like that was as well. And now she was in the presence of a real hero like that! Yuki took a step forward, eyes practically blowing with her excitement as she did. Ah, so cool so cool so cool! For a few moments, the pink-haired girl was completely removed from her situation, quivering lightly at the sight of such an awesome person.

Ruru, on the other hand, continued to kick her feet as she spun about on top of the little robot.

"Mei-san tried harder then then Yuki-chan did to say my name too!" she declared, proudly, finally snapping Yuki out of her hero-induced trance.

"Eh...? I told you it's not my fault your name is ridiculous!" Yuki protested, folding her arms beneath her chest with a frown.

"And Snowball-san can say my name perfectly!" Ruru added cheerfully, "So there's no reason you should have so much trouble!"

"Snowball-san..." Yuki trailed off for a moment. "The robot?! He talks in beeps, how can you tell?!"

Ruru let out a huff. "That's what you think!"

Yuki shook her head and sighed. Maybe being pulled out of her awe at meeting Celestial was a good thing, but Ruru was such a ridiculous individual... "... It's... it's really awesome to meet you, Celstial-san."

That was very true, at least.

"Vivi-kun, can you lead us to that castle?"

@Rin @RolePlayerRoxas @Tachi
I am really not sure honestly.
Konpaku Youmu

There had first been some terrible sounds below, then the sight of a dead body and an injured man. Some sort of fight... a deadly one by the looks of it. It wasn't something Youmu was used to but it was also something she wasn't unprepared for. There was always that chance someone would come with killer intent rather then anything else, and it wasn't as if Youmu have trained in techniques that could not be lethal if they were not held back by danmaku rules. Still, the sight of blood made her wince reflexively. It wasn't a sight she was used to seeing, to say the least. And yet that was only the tip of the ice berg. Moments later, another figure appeared, one that immediately set off alarm bells in her mind.

He was a hulking, red figure, who appeared to have the traits of a stereotypical demon. With all these powerless people in the area, there was no question of her next answer.

Youmu left Luffy's side in the blink of an eye, careening through the air and landing in the midst of those below. In transit she had swiftly drawn both Roukanken and Hakuroken, the huge nodachi and the smaller katana gleaming in the sunlight as her feet hit the cobblestone.

Her first act, if this was a fight without danmaku rules, had to be clearing out those who could be caught in the crossfire.

"EVERYONE!" the diminutive white-haired girl cried, "RUN! Do not stop! Do not look back!"

This was enough for most of the powerless people crowded around to run, but a few had been frozen up in fear. Youmu felt the need to reiterate, as a result.

"I said RUN!"

That got them moving.

With that, Youmu's attention turned firmly to the red demon man.

"I don't know what has you so angry," she began. It wasn't exactly hard to tell he was mad. "But whatever the case, this isn't a good place for a fight. If you don't back down, I will do everything in my power to stop you."

Her katana gleamed as she readied herself.

"On the honor of the Konpaku family."
