Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

@A Lowly Wretch: Sorry that part is short, there wasn't much else I could do yet. ^^;
Hikari's eyes widened as she saw the impact her hammer blow had, sufficient to crater the earth beneath Eve's feet and seemingly shake the entire warehouse. Was that the kind of magical girl she was, then!? All in on the hard-hitting melee blows?! If that was what she was meant to do, how she was meant to defend others and defeat evil, then she was fine with it! ... Unless it was supposed to be some joke about her temper! There was no way she'd accept something like that!

But the middle of a fight, even if it wasn't serious, was no time to be getting caught up in her thoughts! Hikari saw the blow coming, and managed to focus her mind on the idea of projecting a barrier, a shield just as she had made before. Indeed, almost opening like the blossom of a flower, her barrier appeared once more! This time, however, it was far weaker, just strong enough to prevent a direct blow. The moment that Eve's fist struck it, it shattered like glass and the force imparted to Hikari's body sent the small girl rocketing through the air! While she didn't actually feel the blow, she certainly felt her impact against the wall. She slammed into the steel just below the roof with a yelp, the wall denting from the impact of her body.

And yet, she didn't feel much in the way of pain. Not at all. Instead, she felt a dull, brief stab. Her transformation must have greatly increased her resistance to injury and pain! It only made sense, after all, that magical girls would be so much durable, and hadn't she seen it before?!

Of course, that had to be the case! But now...!

Tokiko was taking aim.

She had to act quickly. The other two times she had used her hammer, she'd been propelled through the air by the fireworks. So if that let her move fast then...!

Hikari raised her hammer.

How could she activate it without swinging, though? If it was fireworks, only one thing came to mind!

"TAMAYA!"

There was a resounding crack, a whiff of gunpowder, and an explosion as Hikari rocketed away from the wall! She hit the ground moments later, platform geta sliding along the floor with a shower of sparks as she raised her hammer once more. It had worked!

"..."

Chise's shoulders slumped slightly. It appeared like she hadn't been expecting this at all. Out of every potential outcome, one where the response to the revelation of her opponents was to tell them to go home. She couldn't justify attacking the older girl now, not when she wouldn't transform. That just wasn't what a magical girl should do. Seriously hurting someone who wasn't defending herself was just plain wrong!

But both of the little girls wanted to make progress in the Hex Night, and that meant that they had to fight all the other girls in the city. So there had to be some way to get Hanako to fight, right?

Hina chimed in now, gesturing wildly with her hands.

"But don't you want to win!? We all need to fight to win!" she declared, waving her arms wildly as she spoke.

@Raineh Daze

"Haah, that's true, isn't it?"

The other girl sighed after a moment, arms folded across her chest as she sank deep back into her thoughts. There was no denying that something like that could be risky, after all... but at the same time...

"All of us magical girls are going to be enemies, right?" she asked, "At least most of us, since everyone I know's going to join in on the Hex Night too."

She paused for a moment, as if thinking over what she would say next.

"But we're still magical girls. It's not like the fact that we need to fight is going to change that. So if something bad is happening, we should forget about that and handle it first, right?"

Shining Fist grinned, nodding to herself.

"If somebody notices, I'll tell them that! ... And if it doesn't work..."

She raised her arm. Her gauntlet gleamed.

"This isn't just for show."

@LuckyBlackCat

Any attempt to relocate the girl was indeed met with failure. But it wasn't obvious if the blonde little girl actually had noticed she was being watched, either. Indeed, as of now, it appeared to be some kind of mystery. There was simply no sign of her, anywhere...

And yet...

There was a distinct sensation of being watched.

That same cold sensation felt from the observation of the Rabbit Masked stranger.

@A Lowly Wretch
I'll be getting a response up today or tomorrow!
Mihama Nanako

When Nanako moved, to get her glass of water, her motions were stiff. There was nothing she could say. Nothing she could do. She'd really blown it, hadn't she? She'd wanted to try and explain herself and apologize. But she'd said it in the worst possible way, hadn't she? When she sat, she simply clutched quietly at the hem of her skirt, after placing her glass of water on the table. There were no excuses that she could make. She din't want to make excuses in the first place. She wanted to simply try and explain herself. She didn't expect a simple explanation to make things right, but she hoped it would help with her apology.

It hadn't.

All Nanako had wanted to do was try and foster a good relationship with her Servant, to try and be her friend. That's what she had wanted from the start. But this entire day she'd just kept making mistakes, hadn't she? There was little she could have done that would have been worse. All she did when Meltryllis walked past her was slowly nod.

How could she try and salvage this? As bad as she felt now, she wasn't going to give up. She couldn't. She'd finally summoned a Servant, no matter how strange the situation was she had to make her happy. Even if the circumstances were bizarre, Meltryllis had allowed herself to be summoned, hadn't she? So she had to repay her by making things right.

Nanako simply didn't know how.

Slowly, she picked up her glass of water.

Yes, no matter what, she had to make up for it!

Nanako took a sip.

What happened next, she couldn't understand. It was difficult for her to even grasp what was happening to her. Everything went black for a moment, and then she was on the floor, fallen beside her table. But that wasn't all. The sensation racing through her nervous system, it was like every part of her body, her skin, muscles, bones, it was as if absolutely every part of her was being torn apart and rebuilt with every instant. She let out a strangled cry.

What was happening? Why? Her body felt like it was on fire, she couldn't hold back tears. The absolute agony rushing through her was unlike anything she had ever felt before, and everything went black again moments later.

This pattern was to continue for the entire night.

Saber

"Er, yes..." the girl samurai couldn't help but feel embarrassed that she hadn't even contemplated the possibility of having to purchase training swords. But maybe there was some way to obtain them otherwise? The pale Servant was hopeful that would be the case, at least. She didn't know much at all about the United States, though the Holy Grail had gifted her the capability to converse with those who lived there without issue. After a moment's pause, Saber realized that another individual had appeared as well. An older man, well-dressed, asking about their situation in English... to which her Master responded in Japanese.

There was really only one thing that the girl samurai could do, given the situation.

"Er, what Honda-san is trying to do is ask who you are, any why you're here?" she asked. It seemed everyone was answering everyone else with questions. Hopefully he'd change that tactic and actually explain himself. Saber didn't suspect him of being anyone dangerous as of now, but at the same time it was a little weird that he showed up so suddenly, so asking who he was seemed like the best idea.

@PKMNB0Y@Raineh Daze
Estelle Varianbec, Master of Berserker

"Mmmnn..."

Estelle slowly stirred. Last night... her plan had fallen apart, hadn't it? Memories of the summoning slowly filled her mind as she blinked blearily. Her Berserker... that incredibly pretty lady, Minamoto no Raikou, had... well, she'd immediately dumped a whole load of concerns onto her. But not her plan, not at all, it was about her well-being. It wasn't as if Estelle didn't appreciate a Servant who felt she was so important and precious(of course she was, after all), but at the same time her entire plan for the night had been completely derailed. Ambushing a Master and Servant with one of the most powerful Samurai of Japanese history had seemed to be an excellent plan... but instead, every other Master had long since finished their business, and Estelle had begun to find it difficult to keep her eyes open. It wasn't as if her plan didn't have another chance(especially given the power of her Servant) but this...

Gaah, she didn't need to be treated that way!

... Even if it wasn't bad, it was still... still... whatever!

Rubbing her eyes again, Estelle clambered out of bed and yawned once more. Well... before anything else, she'd have to plan for the day before getting another chance to spring a trap on an enemy Servant... it was probably for the best to acclimate Berserker to the town, as well, to let her see what battlefield she'd be fighting in.

Even after he strange start, the little girl was filled with nothing but boundless confidence. She was undeniably the strongest Master in the war, with one of the most powerful Servants. But for now...

She headed downstairs, still in her pajamas. Her mansion was huge, likely one of the largest private residences in Redrock that still existed. And yet now there was only Estelle, Berserker, and her maids living within it...

"... Berserker," she called, "I have an idea. We can take this chance to go out for breakfast and I can show you your battlefield!"

She was already being followed by a gaggle of maids, some of whom were eyeing Berserker with jealousy. Did they think that she was trying to take their job? Some had already offered to help her bathe, but Estelle was on a mission she wanted to complete before anything else!

@Anza
"..."

Shining Fist paused for a moment. Then, with a look of deep concentration, she folded her arms across her chest. For a few moments, she remained like this, as if deep in thought.

Then...

"... I have no idea!"

The girl scratched the back of her head with an awkward chuckle as she turned to face Fuyuko. For all that buildup, her actual thought processes seemed to have resulted in nothing.

"Hmmm... you said they were in the forest, right? Or they ran off there or something," she said, after a moment, "So... Maybe staring there would be good?! I dunno how to find them but some creep in a suit with a bunny mask has gotta stand out, right?"

Even if it was one of the most basic plans possible, there was at least some kind of logic. Suits and bunny masks weren't exactly some sort of high-level camouflage. But that was only the case if the strange figure was, for some reason, still lingering in the forest. It wasn't impossible, of course, but it also wasn't as if the masked figure was guaranteed to be there.

@LuckyBlackCat

For a few moments, both girls were silent. Then...

"Eeeeehhh?!"

Hina stepped forward immediately.

"But... but it's the first night of the Hex Night!" she cried, waving her arms frantically in the air as she did, "Magical girls are supposed to fight during the Hex Night! That's how it works! Isn't it?"

As opposed to Hina's outburst, Chise had transitioned to giving Hanako a rather notable pout. It almost seemed as if she had thought the sudden reveal of her and Hina's nature as magical girls had been cool, and that this had ruined it.

"That's not the kind of response I wanted, onee-san," she said, her pout deepening as she spoke, "Hina-chan is right... the fairy said it was how the Hex Night worked. You get a wish and everything."

@Raineh Daze

The ravens could observe a variety of things in the night. Of course, the chief ones among them were magical girls.

The first night of the Hex Night wasn't devoid of combat, but many magical girls were being more cautious and scouting out potential opponents. This was the case with many of the girls that the Ravens were able to spot.

A notable example included a magical girl with an unusual outfit, one that seemed to be split between a leotard and a frilled dress, a tophat on her head. Her hair was bright red, her outfit red and gold, and she had a heart marking on her left cheek. It seemed as if she had sparkling lights following her wherever she went, and her pace was rather leisurely as she made her way across the rooftops.

Another was a somewhat tan-skinned(likely due to spending a lot of time outdoors) girl with bright green hair, and a navy-colored outfit seeming to draw inspiration from the military, complete with gold epaulets. She seemed to be cheerfully making her way across the top of a short wall, though her eyes were always on her surroundings.

And then-a little blonde girl...?

But if the last one was investigated closer, the blonde girl would already be gone.

@A Lowly Wretch
I'll get a post done here tonight or tomorrow.
Saber

"I still need to see where you're at, when it comes to skill. To get a better sense of where to start, and refreshing a student on the basics with the start of a new class always makes sense," Saber responded with a pleasant smile. Fond memories of teaching flooded her mind. Aside from her time spent with her friends in the Shinsengumi, teaching others the way of the sword was one of the things she looked back upon most warmly.

Indeed, she was so wrapped up in fond memories that the samurai Servant failed to recall one of the most important factors in instructing swordplay, at least until her Master mentioned the fact to her.

"... Oh. Training swords. Er... eh-heheheh..."

Embarrassed at overlooking something so important, Saber averted her eyes slightly, scratching at the back of her head.

Mihama Nanako

So much had happened in just a short period of time. Nanako would be learning from Atlas? She'd met Sherlock Holmes? Of course, in a city like Fusang, meeting any extraordinary figures from history was always possible. It was likely that any given day simply walking through Fusang would lead to multiple encounters with famous figures right out of the history books. But it was a bit different speaking directly to one in that fashion. Certainly, she'd talked to Servants before, but... this was... different.

She winced when she saw the new sent of dents that Meltryllis left in the floor, but... there was something more important then that.

Nanako's Servant was angry. The Alter Ego was clearly fuming, and it had already been obvious even before they arrived back at home.

"... Ah... you noticed..."

For a moment Nanako simply wasn't sure what to say. It was clear that Meltryllis had been angry at being pitied. Nanako hadn't wanted to make her angry, not after forcing her Servant through far more important things that had irritated the purple-haired Alter Ego. But it was difficult. Learning that her hands were almost useless, seeing her struggle with the spoon at the restaurant, it had been hard not to show at least a little pity for her...

"... I'm sorry, I know there's no way it wouldn't make you mad," responded Nanako, finally. "I've only just met you today and it was still pretty obvious you'd hate having anyone pity you."

Nanako felt like she was already making mistakes. In trying to start a good relationship with her Servant, it seemed that she was largely struggling and not doing a particularly good job. But it wasn't like she could just ignore Meltryllis's words. She had to try and say something. Not doing so would only make things worse.

"It's... it's not like I think you're weak or anything," Nanako added, "... I guess it's just hard not to feel that way, knowing stuff like that."

The brunette had a feeling absolutely no part of that had made anything better.
