@ZapdosYour character could gain the fruit at later time, when Logia wouldn't be so untouchable. My character uses Fishman Karate so a fire logia wouldn't be an unbeatable opponent for her, but any other enemy we fought early on wouldn't have much of a defense against it.

That could work. I actually imagined him using the fruit because I thought it'd be an interesting way to supplement his doctor skills, not as a way to be overpowered.

I might have to see what portions of the CS from the other One Piece RP can be adapted to this one!

Interesting concept. Like @Sunbather from the interest check thread, I was going to join another One Piece roleplay, but it died and I'm not sure how good the replacement that is being thought of will be yet.

I'm interested in this, but my one character idea is a self-taught doctor with the Mera Mera no Mi, which would be against your rules and overpowered for someone just beginning anyway. Actually, I could remove the devil's fruit and have him acquire the fruit later, but really it would just depend on what the needs of the roleplay are.

Like Muffinator said, you don't need to read the series. But if you want to, I have a few suggestions:

Maybe read from the beginning up until the end of the Arlong arc to get introduced to a few characters and the general mood of the series, but that's 95 chapters, so only if you want to. Chapters 490 to 597 (the Summit War Saga, which is basically a huge prison escape and war) is probably my favorite part of the series, so I'd recommend that after the beginning (which I only recommend to get introduced to a lot of the characters).

Again, it's a lot of reading, so only do it if you want to. I just wanted to give my two cents.

I'm not Muffinator, but I'd imagine so. Maybe read parts of it so we don't spoil it all for you, but I can't imagine it'd be too hard to roleplay something in a setting like this even if you don't know everything about One Piece.

@RhodusYeah, I did some reading too and figured it would still work in a setting like this (with sky islands, fruits that give people powers and other fantasy elements) as long as I'm not being stupidly unrealistic and overpowered about it. Obviously it won't be a cure-all, I just thought it would be a fun idea for a character.

The idea wasn't to be OP, the idea was to have a doctor character who can cauterize wounds (basically, stopping bleeding with fire) with his powers :-P I just think it'd be a fun character to play as.

Glad the idea is approved though. I don't think I have time to make a CS tonight, but I look forward to making it when I do have more time.
