@Grueslayer Haha you're welcome! Yeah I think that's the trick to remember, that a lot of people have their own worries and such but they don't always show it outwardly :O

I dislike it when I'm in an RP where you are supposed to be in a well rounded team but somehow everyone ends up being the badass stealth assasin.

More a minor frustration than anything, but it feels like there's no RPs around right now that are clicking for me. Well, maybe a couple, but they're long underway and after a certain point I just can't play catch-up. I know I could make some but I'd rather not run more than one game at a time.

Since I haven't been outstandingly irked in a little while, some roleplaying pet-peeves AKA How to make me hate you.

■ People who have a problem with the RP, but act passive aggressive about it because "they don't want to cause conflict" or some other stupid shit. Fuck off with that shit.

■ On the other hand, people who take criticism as a personal attack, or try to deflect it for some stupid reason. Fuck off with that shit.

■ People who awkwardly insert their characters in things they clearly don't belong in when there's more organic things going on.

When you read an interest check for an RP that sounds so awesome you want to join it, but you know you're already in so many awesome ones you don't want to abandon that you wouldn't cope with adding another to your schedule *sobs*

When you've had a world that you built, by 'hand', with help from others that spans over many, many millenia that goes from Science Fantasy to Medieval Fantasy and back. Culture, language(really just borrowed because lazy at the time),military organization, map building, pantheon building, history building....All of it. and now I look at it, and I see many inconsistencies...and I want to right that wrong. but since I started so late in it looks very hard to actually start and I don't want to give up on this setting. It tears at me! It's been annoying me the last few days that I can't figure out where to start!

When a topic you spent weeks if not months writing and developing goes up in smoke because of inactivity, lack of interest, writers block, drama in the ooc, or people posting typo filled one liners in response to detailed, thought out, well written posts.

When someone doesn't show enough interest in an interest check to be considered for a role compared to everyone else who voiced far more enthusiasm and intrigue for it, then throws a couple pity party posts in the thread to warrant sympathy that no one asked for. Then it works; someone gives up their spot, a spot they asked for, after showing far more interest and desire to help develop the rp, because they feel bad for that other person.

I hate seeing people comment in interest checks saying "I'm interested, PM me."

Like fuck! You're interested, you probably have something to say, you PM them and tell them you're interested so you can get a dialogue started instead of weakly waving a hand and waiting for someone else to make the effort. Honestly, when I see someone tell me to PM me, I wonder why they didn't use that time and effort to PM me instead. That's like someone calling me to tell me they want to talk, then hang up so I have to call them back.

Let's meet each other halfway folks...

When people don't pay attention to what other characters are doing so their actions completely clash nonsensically with something that has already been posted.

I mean, we make 1x1 interest checks to avoid having to PM others (in part) so this is double stupid, innit. And people try to be nice about it by saying 'oh, I don't read my 1x1 interest check! PM me!' but really that just translates to 'fuck you if you tell me to PM you, PM me instead.'

I have like, this problem in my wiring where. I get distracted by the darkness in my dome dormitory alot. And it dips some of my nuggets in the salt pot because I end up motherfucking. forgetting ever to reply to people even when I am like, spreading the jam and coming up with plots we like.

So, like. I reply with all the apologizes and side orders and try to move forward but I end up going more silent than a traumatized 1930's mime with a big career in the early visual media biss. They end up thinking I ain't into them but in truth I dip in and out of reality so much that I might as well be a narnia delivery man.

I do it to people I talk OOCly. It's like my brain is on an egg timer, if conversations don't move roughly fast it just starts forgetting who I'm writing too and I won't remember for like, 4 days. Then it's like...shit...what's the point pulling the noose when they probably already felt they got the verdict. So let 'em go. Better for them.

@falka I keep forgetting to reply to my sister even when like to jam like a rapper with a sandwich obsession.

@LadyGodiva is one I recall doing this too. I think. fuck I got so many PMs that I feel like the king of england of with all the major ministries. but just to be sure, sorry sister.

There's probably a few others that even if I like and think are all steel and steroid in the spectrum department that I won't recall for another 5 hours.

It sometimes frustrates me when there's an interest check, and people respond to it in PM without leaving any trace in the thread, thus making it impossible to estimate how much interest the poster already has. In some twisted way, they might be trying to avoid that sort of confusion.

Or they might just have their head up their ass, I dunno.

@Lalliman I deliberately asked people to PM me in my interest thread purely to help keep the amount of interest I get a mystery. Only like one out of every ten people who respond to my interest check end up being someone whose preferences and style is generally a good match. I don't want people assuming that my dance card is full just because my thread is full of responses because in all honesty most of those don't pan out.

I really don't think it's too much to ask for people to edit and format their contributions to collabs instead of relying on someone else to do it for them.

Also, if you're in a collab, you should probably check up on it daily so it doesn't get posted weeks after it started because you forgot about it or got lazy. It's kind of shitty to propose a collab or agree to take part in one and then keep your partners hanging for enough time for someone to go clean shaven to Karl Marx level beard.

This. So much this. Especially the last part. Had too many partners do this to me on other sites. And it's one thing to keep them updated by dropping a message every now and then to say "hey life is being a bitch sorry I don't have time to reply right now" etc etc. (Everybody who does this, I have much love and understanding for!)

But if you're going to ask to collab and then just ghost on someone for months without bothering to say anything well...special place in hell imo

I think I've been there.
-Except a dystopic corprate-run backwater in a technology-driven future (moon bases 'n stuff)

I generally just roll with it and hope that the soft-retcon of a forum-crash and/or admin/mod-war or three buries most inconsistances as "ancient lore only still taught by the old supersticious few". The perform a rewrite so dredging that lore up is completely optional.

-edit to remove nonsensical string of cryptic metaphors-

I also seem to be adding quite a bit of... tension into my posts lately. Of all varieties. And then refusing to resolve it.
