Or is this one of those things were a character hears a noise behind them or feels someone tap them on the back then leaves it to another character to fill in the blank they've left. Cause if it is it's going to be really awkward if no one fills the spot.

Observation comes under the 'until' part. Because, unless Gren has some spare eyes I didn't see in his CS, he can't observe someone behind him until he turns around. Therefore, 'until he turns around' is a valid statement.

There was no argumentative quality to what I said whatsoever. It was a statement, and a perfectly factual one about what you said. I'm not exactly sure how you interpreted it or what exactly you're defending but it is of no consequence to me.

Enough with the sophistry. If you can't handle a bit of vagueness, the person Gren is suppose to be seeing is Claire. I'm simply waiting to see if Pannet is willing to participate in the meeting. If not then I can just pretend it's someone else who Gren is physically attracted towards.
