Naaah, but there will be like, 70 or so Beowolves. A very target rich environment. Maybe a couple of Boarbatusk's too, though most have stayed back at the fort cause they're lazy.

Hey @Forsythe Random question: What happens in Stargate if you take an active gate away from its Point of Origin? Would the connection get cut or would it simply stay active till the 38 minute limit expired?

The connection would probably be cut. Later seasons have the gate system act like a telephone network so I dont think that you would have any problems relating to galactic coordinates. However I doubt that the wormhole would react well to the move through hyperspace needed to get the gate out of the system within the thirty eight minute time limit.

Okay now Trek is not that bad. Of course given the scope of the series it had its ups and downs but overall Star Trek is a good franchise. Voyager and DS9 were the most stable and Enterprise and the reboot movies suck but otherwise not bad.

Stargate Universe is what happened when the writers looked at that joke episode and went "yeah, that looks like a good idea to make into another series."

Is it any wonder the thing died as fast as it did?

There was nothing particularly wrong with Stargate Universe as a premise. The idea of an ancient ship lost light years away from Earth with a human crew was actually fairly valid. The reason the series died was because essentially all of the characters were either unlikable, unrelatable or just downright stupid. There was no emotional connection for the audience cause the writers more or less failed to make us like anyone on Destiny enough to give a crap about whether they lived or died.

The other Stargate series had a good balance between, action, humor, and a human element. Universe was pretty much all action all the time. Universe is essentially what SG-1 would have become had Michael Shanks not quite and forced the writers to take a hard look at what they were doing to the series.
