Lusius Mathand

@13org@Bright_Ops

Lusius heard Draco scold him, informing him of how he was wrong but was he? "I don't claim that you are wrong or that you taught me different. But don't claim that this is only out of anger. Look what she did to my house. How many witches have we hunted for the same thing and we're just to forgive her because she didn't use magic to do it? It doesn't matter in my eyes and you need to know that anger is not controlling me." As Lusius finished he took a minute to pause not because he wanted Draco to think on his words but because he felt wrong saying them. As soon as he said that hate wasn't controlling him his insides turned. He knew that was a lie and only saying it out loud made him realize it. After all who was inside him but none other than the culmination of all the hate the world couldn't handle.

"Wait no... You're right. That wasn't me... I want her to pay, but not like this. She needs justice not a witch hunt. Just..." Lusius started as the Burning Man pulled away again and with that he knew what his mind actually wanted. He wanted Phoebe to pay, but not for the damage she tried to do but for the damage she intended to do. She would have destroyed his home and burned Shai alive for nothing but what she was not who she was. "She needs to be stopped, but just... Bring her to justice not to vengeance. Please." Lusius finally confessed in the stable sense of his own mind.

It was then that he turned away from Draco to look at his tools ready for use so that he could get started on fixing up his home. "And if you can. I could use some good treated lumber when you head back to town. I'll need to put in some good supports too for when I take out the bad ones." From there he picked up his ax and saw ready to start working into the night. At least for a little bit of it so that he could have a head start for the morning. And with Shai's promise of help they may actually be able to get a good bit cleared before it comes time for rest.

Nox at the Second Tavern (the one you go to when you get kicked out of the first one, are avoiding something or simply don't know better)

It wasn't as though he was avoiding The Witches Paradise, and if we was, it wasn't because she was there. No, it was because Wolves Bane simply didn't get enough love as the second tavern and a wonderful establishment. And because of stupid Phoebe.
Christ, of all the places that woman could have ended up, why why whyyy did it have to be Seren's Folly

It seemed as though only the hunters of Wolvesbane hadn't been invited to the gnome attack as many of them were to the point of being drunk stupid.

Well...Abby did have of way of making sure her clients got the best hunts. God love that woman.

He approached the counter where there already was a customer. The was an exchange of conversation that couldn't be entirely ignored The two parted as a note was semi-discreetly passed from the bartended to the hunter. A few moments later, the bar tended ask Nox for his drink order and he got it without much fuss.

After taking a few sips of liquid gold, he finally turned to the hunter he'd never seen before.

"I don't mean to listen in, but... well, to be fair you weren't exactly being discrete with your conversation," Nox made a point to not look at the note, although he was beyond curious. "But I heard you saying earlier that you might hesitate kill a witch if you thought she was good. But the way you said it, well... do you truly think that there is not such thing as a good witch?" Although he left the clearing, and Madeline or whatever her name was, in quite a hurry after seeing Phoebe, he couldn't help but noticed that there had been a bit of a ruckus over the stupid dragoned tailed witch from the clearing before.

From what he caught of the conversation, the witch had supposedly helped the hunters and defended the town from the gnomes. Or so she said, he was in too big of a hurry to really see how that story ended.

"I'm sorry, where are my manners, I'm Nox. Who might you be stranger, I don't think I've seen you around, but I also don't frequent this tavern,"

@Mystic Writer

"Why do I sense that we've just picked up another pathetic lifeform?"

Seriously, what is with the witches in this town? Though Al as he watched the boy who had just entered, what had once been a nice deserted alleyway, was reeking of magic, it dripped off of him like sweat. Honestly, it is almost as though that they are unaware how unwanted our kind is in this city. He did find it curious that hunters simply left the boy for dead, rather than killing him off properly, but he wasn't about to run up and ask them a question. He gave the blind witch another glance Perhaps they are operating under the illusion that the closer they are to danger, the further away they are from harm.

Al gave the boy another once over, it was as though he particularly disliked other male mages, there weren't enough of them around for him to form that sort of opinion. It was simply that he was...better than they were, male or not, dragon speaker or not, he was still of the Von'Strauss line and that meant something. There was a large part of him that simply wanted to leave the boy to die in his own blood. However, males witched were very valuable and he could always try to sell the boy for goods or something--the boy certainly wouldn't be strong enough to fight back at the moment and there were plenty of coven between here and Bloodrose. Making up his mind, he parted from the witch "Allow me M'lady," he said softly to the witch."It would seem your dinner will have to wait, but I beg you for just a few more minutes of patients. I'm going to check on the male witch who seems to be having a worse day than either of us,"

Not waiting for permission to go to the boy, he approached. "Evening little brother," he said, kneeling next to the male witch. "It would seem you've gotten yourself into a bit of trouble, do you require help?"

Kieran raised an eyebrow at the stranger and chuckled softly. Kieran had walked towards the two people earlier, but somehow he must have blacked out for a few moments because he blinked an they were gone. Kieran chalked it up to his mind playing tricks on him, probably from the blood loss. But they looked so real to him.

"No man I actually feel pretty refreshed, like I could run a million - Yes I need help. I have hooks in both shoulders and in my chest. I would remove them myself, they aren't too deep in, but ive lossed quite a bit of blood."

Kieran sighed.

"Sorry didnt mean to snap, kinda had a rough day. You know plus ive lossed a lot of blood. But you know what they say, nothing ventured nothing gained. So technically...wait shit that doesnt make sense. Long story short yes I would appreciate a little help."

~~~ At the tavern ~~~
Mainly interacting with @Dark Light
Jared leaned down forwards until his head was hover above the weapons quite closely. He pulled back the hood of his armor and let his view run along the entire length of the blade. Subsequently he lowered his head even further so the light reaching his eyes was the one which had been reflected from the surface in a very shallow angle. Then he let his fingers reach for the metal, but not before putting on his leather gloves again. It impaired the feeling, but prevented leaving dirt behind on the other hunter's possessions.
"Is it just me or do you actually want to impress me ?" he smirked towards Ky from his crouched position. "If that's the case, then I'm afraid I can't exactly compete. Or... can I ?" He reached for his back, pulling the two staffs out of their loops holding them there. He too put them on the table next to the swords. The sound they made when gently nudged against each other gave clear indication of them not consisting of metal, but wood. Dark, dense, almost black wood with some leather strapped around it at one end to serve as a handle and sone metal reinforcements at the other end to make the blows dealt more violent. They were very long, easily spanning across the table.
"These are Sun and Moon. Easy to distinguish as you can see here." He pointed towards their handles with the symbolic depictions of the two aforementioned celestial bodies sticking out of the ends. They appeared to be made out of or at least plated with gold or a substance that looked very similar. "So far these two have never let me down." Of course he knew that so far he hardly had gotten himself into situations where it had actually been possible for any weapon to let it's owner down - much unlike the man sitting in front of him, most likely.
Draco sighed a little as the course of action in front of him presented itself. "Alright, the sooner we clear up a place to set up some shelter, the sooner we can get some sleep and rebuild this place in the morning..." Rolling his shoulders a little, he looked around in order to see where would be a good place to start with the cleaning efforts.
"I think this will do it." Shai said to herself, after looking at herself on the mirror.
"It is a little big for me but its not uncomfortable."
Getting down the stairs, she saw Draco and Lusius, the later already with some tools, getting ready to work. It was already getting late, but they probably still had time to do some considerable work.
"Don't laugh!"
"I did what I could to not look like a silly clown." she said with a smile. "They are very comfortable though..."
"So, how can I help you? I can lift heavy things with my magic, cut or punch holes into things with my dices, I can create a time bubble to make the time flow faster or slower in a given area or given person, I can also heal, but I don't think you will need it, after all building isn't as dangerous as fighting a horde of evil gnomes!" she said, giggling.
"Alright, the sooner we clear up a place to set up some shelter, the sooner we can get some sleep and rebuild this place in the morning..."
"I can get back here to help you guys tomorrow after you wake up." she said
"I have already given you both too much work, I don't want to bother you by sleeping here."
Lusius Mathand
@13org@Bright_Ops
Lusius was quick to get working by instead of using his gathered tools to clear the burnt woods to instead clear out what loose scraps could be done by hand, such as the burned remains of his chairs and the small table that sat between them. Sadly there wasn't much left but some ashed wood. Regardless with that out of the way he set about cutting and pealing away the bad structure, taking out scorched or broken boards to make sure that his home didn't have any true weaknesses to come up later. Of course it would make building it back up both harder and more time consuming, but at least it would pay off in the long run.
Though before he and Draco could get far in the work Shai came down in her... his clothes. Much like she said, they were a little big for her but that didn't matter too much. Instead what was more distracting was the amount of hip and rump she was showing thanks to the fact that they were not made for somebody with a tail. But now was not the time to stare and instead he listened to her words. She really did have a cute giggle... Wait what? Uh... "Well, we need to get all the boards that are burned in the slightest out so we can replace them tomorrow. So let's just get to work on peeling those away first." Then he rejoined the work effort to clear away the damages. All the while thinking about where would be a good place to sleep through the night. Though with the bed intact he would be able to at least curl under the sheets for warmth against the cold night.
That was when Shai spoke up about sleeping elsewhere and that made him remember what she said previously, specifically about not really having a home to call her own. Pausing his work once more he thought about how he didn't want her to rest in some cold, dark cave or under a tree where the frigid winds could freeze her. But with her ideas of being a burden he figured something would have to be done to get that mindset out. "There's no need to go away. There may be a big hole in the wall but at least it should help a little to keep you warm through the night. We can just block the hole and cover the hall to keep warm. And besides I can't have you leaving because how am I to know you'd come back? What's stopping you from leaving me with load of work that you claim to have given us." His words cold but his tone warm and almost joking, trying to show that he'd rather her be close and taken care of rather than away and uncertain of her fate.
Cole Striker
Cole responded, "Who am I? Well, my name is Cole Striker. I come from a long line of witch hunters myself, they are nasty things that try to tease the hearts of men and seduce them with mystical charms. That is what I was raised to believe, and that is what I believe."
The male confidently brought his glass down onto the table, looking at the new visitor now with a questioning glance rather then a normal one. He seemed to be defending witches to an extent, and although part of him was suspicious he allowed his intuition to remain at ease for the moment. Cole's sense was definitely something that he relied on when he went out to hunt for witches, but part of him felt that this person was just simply unknowing. THAT could be understandable, because of the fact Cole was so firmly rooted with his family line he was never taught about the possibility of there being a 'good' witch, just that witches were a threat to humankind. He added in as a remark, "If every witch was indeed a good witch then you and I wouldn't have jobs, we'd be broke standing on the side of the road. You're welcome to join me, odd stranger."
Cole motioned to a stool next to him and then took a look at his cup, he had a pretty good tolerance for beer so it wasn't like he felt drunk. He just wondered if he should get another drink out of courtesy since he wasn't sure how much time he wanted to spend talking. The male still wanted to go hunt some more witches so that he could get a larger reward, the loot that came from a witch was usually a good sum when sold to the right people. Cole allowed his fingers to tap against the hard wood of the counter as he spoke, "You think that you ever came across a good witch? Hah, you amuse me. What in Seren's Folly could have happened to you?"
Cole mentioned, "Witches normally can't be trusted, how do you know if the witch hasn't taken a hold of your heart and twisted it already? Hmmm? Answer that for me. Tell me one good witch that would be better then any woman in town."
"Besides even if you left in the middle of the night, anyone stupid enough to come here after you won't know you're gone until after they've bothered us." Draco said matter of factually as he decided to make himself useful. Sure he might not have had the same strength he had over fifty years ago, but he was still more then able to assist Lusius with his efforts to move anything that was just a bit to much for a single man to carry without risking injury.
Much like his son, Draco had also noticed the manner in which Shai wore Lusius's clothing (and the amount of skin that it showed) but he didn't say anything about it. There were much worse sights in the world and besides, Lusius had seemed to take a liking to her. It actually reminded him of his own beloved witch girl quite a number of decades ago... and brought a small, wistful smile to his face that helped to lighten his spirits a little.
"I wouldn't recommend using time magic..." Draco suggested, clearly remembering the last time she had used magic on Lusius... but he nodded his head as he recommended "But I wouldn't turn away someone who can help with heavy loads either by helping to lift it or cutting it down into more manageable chunks."
Shai
Shai listened carefully to Lusius' instructions, nodding her head in agreement.
Taking those boards away would be very easy if she used her magic. But it was getting dark, and she didn't wanted to give them more work.
She couldn't take his clothes with her, it would be extremely rude, but at the same time, her robes got burned, so what would she wear?
"There's no need to go away. There may be a big hole in the wall but at least it should help a little to keep you warm through the night. We can just block the hole and cover the hall to keep warm. And besides I can't have you leaving because how am I to know you'd come back? What's stopping you from leaving me with load of work that you claim to have given us."
At first she got surprised by the cold words, but Lusius' warm tone was very comforting.
"Thanks a lot. And don't worry, I wont run away with your clothes and break my promise of helping you." She replied with a gentle smile.
"I promise I will repay you somehow. For everything you both are doing for me. Offering me clothes, protecting me..." she said looking to both Lusius and Draco.
Shai was surprised that they were being so kind with her. Not even once they treated her like a creature, an aberration. She wasn't exactly used to being treated that way... Even other witches treated her bad, for her being an "artificial" witch, or "fake" witch as some said.
She would love to stay here for a little longer. She finally felt that someone really cared about her.
"I wouldn't recommend using time magic..." Draco's words interrupted her thoughts.
She remembered of what happened with Lusius after she used magic on him. The thing that she felt inside him was terrifying.
"Yes... I remember what happened before..." she said looking down, feeling guilty for making Lusius suffer.
"But it wasn't on purpose! I swear I didn't knew that it would happen... i'm sorry for making you suffer Lusius." she said.
After a few moments of silence, she talked again.
"We can use the burnt boards as firewood... Its better than throwing them away, isn't it?" she asked, sending one of her dices (which was flying around her orb until now, together with the cards) in the direction of a board.
The piece of wood she chose was one near the hole in the wall, it was a very big board and it was in terrible state.
The dice stopped just near the board, started to spin and moving slowly towards it. She wanted to be careful to only cut the part that was burned, the rest could still be used in the building.
After a few moments cutting, the board tilted forward and started to fall, but before hitting the ground it started to float.
Shai was pointing at the board with her finger, slowly and carefully moving it outside.
"I'll let it near the door, it can still be used for making fire, isn't that right?"
As she kept helping them, she started to think about Draco and Lusius.
Draco was like a father, always taking care of her and Lusius. She suspected that Lusius and Draco knew each other for a very, very long time by the way they talked and acted.
Lusius on the other hand, although he was a little closed and reserved, he was cute. She wondered what she could do for him to open his heart to her.
Lusius Mathand
@13org@Bright_Ops
Lusius continued to work and toil away fixing the mess Phoebe had made with his friends and with a bit of work they made a serious dent in what needed to be done. Shai's dice and magic cutting and moving away the damaged wood which of course Lusius had to clarify on, "Don't cut the boards so shallowly. It's better to just replace them entirely once we get new boards and beams. If you can send those dice inside and pull them out using that magic of your's."
From there he kept hauling boards, rubble, and ruined momentos from his past life outside to take care of later. "We can't keep the wood. It's been made ash, it just hasn't fallen apart yet. Sure it will burn but it will be a pain to light in the first place. He once again told Shai, not wanting her work to go to waste, but still... sometimes reality wasn't so nice.
Regardless, they all worked deep into the night before some rest started to sound like a better and better idea and before long Lusius was slowly down, "I think it's time we call it guys. We've gotten the bad stuff out anyway and without new wood from town we can't do much more. Draco? Would you head back to town and get us some supplies settled? And don't forget to get some sleep while you are there. I know your mind is fading old man, but that's an important part of this plan. In the meantime Shai and I can set up a warm corner to sleep in as well. Then I can come with the sun to buy them and get them back here."
At that stage Lusius' work switched from deconstruction to construction, heading into the back storage room to fish out some blankets. With his arms full he went about hanging them up around the house to cover up some holes. It wasn't like a solid structure for keeping the cold out, but with a few candles and sconces lit it would keep the two warm for the night.
With that bit done he faced Shai, "So uh... there is only one bed. You must be tired so you can have it. I'll make a spot over on the floor, but I do hope that doesn't bother you that I'll be in the same room as you." He confessed before setting himself to making his little corner cozy before curling up to wait for sleep to over take him. To be fair though the hard floor wasn't like his bed and it wasn't the easiest thing to sleep on but he was tired enough that he was quickly asleep waiting for the sun to wake him up.
Well this was unexpected. The magic in the alleyway burgeoned with the arrival of a rather noisy stranger; so much so that Allaria was surprised every hunter in the town wasn't already feeling it. Eyesight wasn't need to realise the new one was in a bad shape. The dragging of his feet and the quiet gasps of pain were betrayed by the quiet of their alley. Her new friend could deal with him anyways - that's what he was there for.
Softly gripping the seared skin of her neck, she carefully pressed the magic of the stranger, trying to discern who exactly he was and how he had found them. His magic was almost painfully easy to read. She knew an illusionist when she felt one and he didn't take any steps to hide it.
By that point, her new guardian had already begun talking to the new one. She decided to listen in and after a few seconds, she had to add her opinion to the mess. "What even was it? Was it a hunter? I think you should start offering some answers first then we'll consider mending your wounds. Assuming they are wounds, Illusionist." Allaria wasn't fond of her branch of magic - nearly every illusionist she ever met would sell you out within a moments notice.
Not to mention the fact that she was very hungry and this little sewer rat and put a wrench in her plans for getting a nice dinner and making her guardian pay for it. If they had to pull him along as well, it was going to made very clear that the one who was nearly burnt alive would be getting more priority when it came to food. She by her tongue for the moment, however.
Kyzler the cursed hunter
(@Fetzen@ the Tavern )
Kyzler whistled with amusement as he checked out the weapons laid out before him. He got low and close inquisitively eyeing the fashioned golden ornaments.
He took a keen interest in the type of wood used.
Once satisfied he stood back up. Running his fingers through his coarse beard he wipes away his enthused smile and gives a fake teasing 'meh' shrug as he carefully rolls up his swords.
"Where are these bloody drinks at?" he gruffly asks once his items and trinkets were all packed away and safe.
Despite the mask that Draco wore, the deadpan expression on his face spoke volumes. "You raise a kid for most of their live and the first chance he gets, he boots you out of his home so he can spend the night with a pretty girl..." He grumbled loudly enough to be heard as he made his way towards the hole in the wall that was currently serving as a door. Despite the grumbles, he didn't actually seem that put out by being made to fend for himself. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do kids..."
Without another word, he departed to head back to Seren's Folly.
Shai
Shai was doing the best she could to help Lusius, doing exactly as he told. She was the one helping him to rebuild his house, so following his directions would be the best thing she could do.
Although she had said she could keep going, she was in fact rather tired, and was glad when he said that they should call it a day. It would be useless to keep going right now, they needed the wood Draco would get on the city after all...
Shai was in fact feeling a little guilty for basically being the reason for Draco to have to spend the night on Seren's Folly, especially after Draco's grumbles, which made her blush noticeably.
"Don't do anything I wouldn't do kids..." She heard him saying before walking away.
She thought in apologizing to Draco, but when she perceived, he was already gone.
It was already dark, and they were both tired. Shai followed Lusius and kept watching as he covered the holes with some blankets and lit some candles, making the room rather cozy and warm. For someone who was used to sleep in cold ruins, it was a big change.
"So uh... there is only one bed. You must be tired so you can have it. I'll make a spot over on the floor, but I do hope that doesn't bother you that I'll be in the same room as you." Lusius turned to her, before laying down on the corner he prepared for himself.
"O-of course not! But you should really sleep on your bed! I am used-" Shai stopped talking when she realized he was already sleeping.
Getting some sheets from the bed, he covered him. It was the least she could do to him. He was being so attentive and nice to her...
"You are a really sweet guy, aren't you?" she said to herself. "Despite everything that happened to you..."
"Thank you." she said, kneeling down and giving him a kiss on the cheek, before going to the bed and laying down to sleep.
Shai wasn't used to that, the warm an soft bed made her sleep very fast, it was the best night she had in years. The warm and cozy room, the soft bed, the feeling of safety...
The night passed quickly. The next day, Shai woke up with the first rays of sun. She would have done something for them to eat, but she didn't knew where Lusius kept the food. Instead, she sat down in front of the bed and started to meditate, the tarot cards facing down, floating in a circle around her as they randomly revealed themselves from time to time.
Mirai & Silvienne Star
Despite the expansive lore surrounding the mountain, not to mention several exploration expeditions every year, there were still vast amounts of the land undiscovered and undocumented. There were plenty of corners to search for the rogue witch, plenty of cracks to hide in.... And Mirai had until sunrise. Normally, the ambitious witch was all for a challenge, but the time constraints were never her preferred kind. Growling to herself, Mirai kept her eyes peeled for any signs of movement or life in the dark forests below. Her best bet was to search some of the caves nearby, as that was the most logical place to set up camp in a place such as this.
Leaning forward, Sunni responded to Mirai's shift in weight by tilting their flight path downward while still remaining above the treeline. It wouldn't do getting caught by some of the tree climbing creatures, there just wasn't the time to play. The witch sniffed at the night air, keeping tabs on the subtle shifts of color in the sky above her. Time was beginning to run short and Mirai was beginning to lose her patience. "That which goes bump in the night is finding itself grow stronger and stronger. How many do you think are still willing to wander about in the darkness?" She asked to noone in particular, scanning the mountainside for any ridge that might support life.
She and Sunni had veered close enough to check out a few spots, but thus far nothing had panned out. Her frustration was evident in the flames spewing from her mouth as she exited a cave she had explored on foot, dropping down from the ledge to the forest floor below. Somewhere up above, Sunni kept pace, but it was clear even she was beginning to wear out. Not surprising considering she had been in charge of babysitting long before their mission began, and that mixed with caring for Rose on her short expedition out, must have left the poor girl completely wiped. Mirai sighed, finding a safe clearing before calling the bat down to rest.
"I'm sorry, I should have let you rest earlier." She apologized, petting the nose of her beastly companion affectionately. The bat squeaked merrily in response, nudging her master playfully as if to reassure that all was fine. Cracking a smile, Mirai chuckled before turning her attention outward toward the forest. She couldn't be sure, but it almost felt as if someone were watching the pair of them. Sunni wasn't reacting at all, so whatever it was had to have been keeping still so as to not make any noise. "Wait here." She directed the bat, stepping away to investigate the perimeter.
~~~

Green eyes peered out of the darkness, curiously surveying the scene before them. This far off the trail it was rather uncommon to come across a traveler, let alone one that communed with such creatures as bats. Witch. The masked figure thought silently to herself, careful to breathe slowly so the bone would absorb all of the sound. She only dared to move when the wind blew and she held her knucklebone necklace against her skin to silence its rattling, maintaining her focus on the woman rather than the beast. Even from behind the mask, the scent of ash surrounded the dark haired woman, a force the green orbed girl preferred to avoid.

As the stranger approached the tree line, the masked figure shifted from her place in the overlying tree branches, matching step for step as she inched away. After putting some distance between her and the stranger, the young woman made to hide deeper in the forest, but something kept pulling her back. Of all the creatures she had discovered during her time living among them, never had she seen a creature quite so big; at least not for a bat. It was a magnificent sight, and the masked girl found herself being drawn back out of curiosity.
Sure to approach carefully, the masked figure inched slowly out into the clearing, keeping a wary eye out for the dark haired witch. Sunni immediately noted the differences in presence, ready to alert her mistress of the stranger until her voice distracted her.

"Be still mighty hunter, I mean no disrespect and certainly no harm." The voice was light, calm, and quiet so as not to draw attention outside of what was necessary. She had little doubt in her mind that the bat would hear, but as the companion of a witch, she could only hope it would listen. Sunni hesitated, moving to call her mistress once more before her attention was stolen once again. "Please, forgive my boldness... But I was hoping I could ask your name." The girl circled round so that she was standing directly in front of the massive bat, her head slightly bowed out of respect.

"Foolish child. What good does asking my name do?" Sunni smirked to herself, chuckling at a high, nearly inaudible frequency. "Well, for starters, it makes conversations a lot easier." The masked girl responded, instantly capturing Sunni's undivided attention. "You speak as if you understand... Mysterious little critter." Sunni responded, sniffing in the girl's direction. "My darling Mirai believes it impolite to ask a name without first supplying one of your own." It wasn't everyday Sunni got to engage with another sentient being, so she figured Mirai wouldn't be too cross if she didn't send for her right away.

"Of course." The girl stated, reaching up to pull her mask off. Beneath it, her features were defined by white, chalky paint and piercings. "My name is Silvienne, but most of the creatures here call me Silv. It's an honor to meet you." Silvienne swept her upper body into a much deeper bow, her necklace clanking as she did so.

Sunni nodded in satisfaction, relaxing her posture some as the girl made herself visible. "The mistress calls me Sunni, among other flattering things. Tell me, little critter... you are a witch like my Mirai, are you not?" Sunni inquired, still perplexed by a humanoid being able to understand her clearly. Silvienne nodded hesitantly, as if unsure of herself. "I suppose so... To be honest, I have no training in the magical arts but I'm sure you've noticed that I am no normal human either." "Exactly what we're looking for." Silv nearly jumped sky high as the voice spoke up from behind her, having noticed no signs of approach from the ashen witch. She kicked herself internally for having gotten so distracted, now faced with a dilema not easily dealt with. "My Mirai, look at what I've found for you. Rose will be pleased, yes?" The bat clicked much louder this time, a sound she often made when she was in a good mood or seeking praise.

"Y-y-you must b-be the Mirai S-Sunni here was t-t-talking about. A p-pleasure." Silve squeaked, attempting to back off a few steps though not travelling far before she found herself blocked by the very bat she had been pulled in by. The woman standing before her seemed none too kind, her smile cruel and her eyes burning with a fire hotter than she had ever seen.

"Well done Sunni, what a good girl. We'll be taking this one with us." She remarked, stroking Sunni's snout gently whilst ignoring the trembling girl beside her. Whipping around, Silvienne made a run for it, dashing toward the tree line for cover. She wasn't able to make it very far, however, as her body lurched forward and slammed to the ground. Posture still poised from the kick, Mirai lowered her leg slowly as she summoned a ball of flame in her right fist. "I really don't have time for games tonight. I have a deadline to meet, and I really don't feel like getting my ear talked off by Rose. So I'll make you a deal. You come quietly, and I don't torch you alive. How does that sound?" Silvienne rolled over to stare at the woman, eyes filled with fear induced tears. This witch was absolutely crazy, but more importantly, she was holding fire in her hand. There was no way she could compete with something like that, which meant there was no way she could refuse.

Silv nodded quickly, her entire body shaking as Mirai seemed almost disappointed that she had given up so quickly... Should she not have? Fear petrified the inexperienced witch as Mirai turned and remounted Sunni and directed the bat in SIlv direction. Scrambling to get out of the way, Silv suddenly found herself in the careful grasp of the bat.

"Worry not, strange little witch. I never drop anything by accident." Sunni chirped, sounding rather proud of herself despite the less than reassuring words. Like master like companion she supposed, settling in for what would be the longest ride of her life.

~~~
Just as the sun was beginning to poke over the far horizon, Sunni landed back in the main hall of the castle that Silv had only ever seen glimpses of from afar. The place was chilling and far from pleasant, and she feared any people would be worse, then again she was unsure if anything could get worse than a witch who toyed with fire. Gripped tightly by the arm, Silvienne had little choice but to follow Mirai down the halls until she was presented before a regal feeling woman who, like her usual self, donned a mask. "You didn't start without me, I hope?" Mirai yawned, dropping her death grip on the strange girl's arm as she relaxed her stance.
Draco Russ
Currently: Outside Seren's Folly - Witches Paradise
Interacting:@Ellion @Whomever is in Witch's Paradise.
The door of Witches Paradise was pushed open as Draco stepped into it once again; Smelling slightly more of smoke then he did the first time he had walked into the place earlier that evening, before the town had found itself invaded by gnomes. Largely ignoring the collection of hunters that were still in the traven part of the building, Draco instead walked over to the bar and offered Abigail a respectful bow of his head. "It seems that I've been put out for the night my lovely Abigail; Young Lusius finally met a girl and I'm not about to ruin his night by hanging around. Would I be able to spend the night here instead?" He asked respectfully.
Nymphadora
Between Nymphadora's fireworks and Celia's uniquely irritating stings, the creature ceased its advance toward Arden to target one of the more pressing matters. Unfortunately for Arden, that also meant a change in pattern to the creature's strikes. Instead of stabbing at him, the spyder just swung its legs about as it swung to face its attackers. The silver haired witch winced as the sound of shattering glass reached her ears, leading her to wonder if the boy had consumed the elixir as instructed. His loss. She thought to herself silently, dodging around another swinging leg.
The woman turned her eyes downward to the paper in her hand, carefully scribbling lines and runes across the parchment while avoiding being hit by the upset creature. A task much easier said than done as noted by the unfortunate misstep that caused her to trip, one of the spyder's legs whipping around to catch her mid-fall and send her rocketing backward into the wall. The air was forced from her lungs all at once as her back slammed into the solid surface, body falling limply to the ground as the world lurched around her. The spyder barely noticed the slight interruption, continuing to spin around until it had faced Celia's direction. Large globules of acidic drool oozed to the ground as it opened its mouth, a hideous cry bellowing from the creature which echoed painfully throughout the space.
Nymphadora groaned, head buzzing from both the impact and the noise. Blood from a wound that had opened on her forehead dripped down and landed on the parchment she had been drawing on causing the runes to begin glowing, reacting to the life force "sacrificed" for the spell. Pushing herself up, Nymphadora staggered to her feet and gritted her teeth.
"Ut me mutuo fortitudo vestra testor numen et protector vitae. Ut virtus atque auertere malis ligare."
As she spoke, the runes began to glow brighter in response to the short incantation, the ground beginning to rumble beneath them. Cracks opened up in the ground beneath the creature, large thorned vines busting upward to entangle themselves around the legs and body of the monster. It struggled against its bindings, screeching its displeasure. The more the creature struggled, the tighter the vines held on digging deeper and deeper into the creatures' flesh. A putrid smell filled the cavern as its blood mixed with the acidic saliva and began burning off some of the thorns near the front.
"Damnit... Arden! Any day now for your brilliant plan." She called out, beginning to wonder how long they had been down here. Without any window to the outside world, time was an arbitrary thing and difficult to keep track of. Shaking her head, Nymphadora's head was still buzzing from the impact, using her sleeve to swipe some of the blood away from her eyes.
Avalon
It didn't take long for Emmerich to devolve back into a rambling state, notably as nervous as she. But it gave her comfort, knowing that he was uneasy... His words rang true, full of sincerity and that was all she could ask. Avalon smiled but stayed silent as he continued on, bouncing from apology to conversation and back again.
"At ease Emmerich, there's nothing you need apologize for. So many others hide their true intentions, they are secretive and devious. Your words, while surprising, are no less than honest from what I can sense." The woman spoke as she walked, casting the occasional glance sideways to look at the man. She paused for a moment, almost reluctant to share anything about her past, however if there was anything she hated... It was a hypocrite, and she wasn't about to allow someone to spill their guts out the way he had without offering the same in return. Clearing her throat, Ava slowed for a moment, pausing to look up at the stars.
"My brother Kyrso and I belong to the House Shire. I suppose we aren't all that well known outside of our home town, but recognition wasn't really what we were after anyway. Going back generations as far as the records can show, and most likely before even that, our family has been apart of the hunting life. Not every woman born to our surname has chosen the path of the blade, but nearly all members have been involved with the hunt one way or another." Ava began, bringing her eyes back down to earth as she began walking again.
"Growing up, my father was still quite active but he tended to take jobs closer to home and would alternate hunts with my uncle so that he could be home more to train us. At first, at least for me, it was more about being able to defend myself against bandits and the like. But growing up watching both my father and uncle go out on these hunts, listening to their stories about hunts dating back as far as our family... I found myself drawn to the same life."
"When we were still young an illness struck the town and claimed a good many, including the life of Mother. Father was absolutely heartbroken over it, we all were... But I think it hit him the hardest. My uncle took over our training full time so that father could continue earning a living for us, but eventually he was met with the hunter's fate like many before him. It wasn't until later that I found out the one responsible wasn't any witch or howling beast, but a fellow hunter unwilling to give up the bounty." She allowed a moment for her words to sink in as they walked, attempting to push down her burning hatred for the unknown hunter responsible for her father's death.
Finally she shook her head and returned a smile to her face. "Anyways, long story short... I've trained my whole life to be in good, fighting condition. Glad to hear it's paid off." She winked mischeviously, before glancing at him curiously. "Masquerade balls and libraries, sounds like an interesting place. That's the building with all the books, right?" She joked, laughing while she tried to picture it. For the most part, the only books she ever picked up had something to do with creatures she was hunting... Additionally, they were usually handwritten hunter notes, shared amongst the community by information brokers. Very rarely did one of her kind have reason to visit an actual library.
"I wouldn't mind seeing one of those someday either. Sounds like an interesting place." She noted out loud, not entirely aware that she had done so. Noting the open door, Ava nodded her thanks and slipped inside the inn pausing only a moment to wait for Emmerich to enter after her before searching out a seat. Even for the late hour, the place was still quite busy.
Kyrso
Kyrso had been, or at least attempting to, minding his own business. He didn't say anything other than to order more drink or food, and he didn't particularly tune in to any of the other conversations going on around him. To be honest, he was feeling rather tired and wanted nothing more than to head up stairs and fall asleep... But for the moment that wasn't much of an option for him. As much faith as he put in his sister and her abilities, he still wasn't about to leave her completely alone with some strange man, especially one that fights with so much ferocity and cruelty.
Being her twin brother and all, Kyrso sensed Avalon's arrival before they even opened the door, turning to check in on her subtly from the bar. She looked content enough, no signs of distress and the creepy guys seemed a lot less... creepy for now. Their eyes met for a brief moment, making sure that she was alright before he stood up, paid his tab and asked to be shown to a room.
~~~

"To be perfectly honest, I don't think I've ever given wine a second thought. Raised on ales and whiskey, so I'll have to defer to your good judgement on something like that." She added, glancing around the room before taking a seat. There were plenty of interesting characters about, but none of them seemed too problematic yet. Still, one could never be too careful around creatures like them, especially when alcohol was involved. Her eyes trailed after her brother as he retreated for the night, noting the number of fingers he held up to her before heading up the stairs.

Arden

(@ the Fortress )

Kill the Spyder
Concerning:@WeepingLiberty@Rune_Alchemist@Dark Light

Arden found himself safe from the horrendous creatures movements when it suddenly let out a horrifying, ear shattering scream. A thing of nightmares. It echoed so loud and caught him by such surprise that it sent him staggering towards the floor. No sooner had the nauseating dizziness stopped, then the ground began to violently tremble. A confused panic struck Arden as he quickly looked around just in time to see large thorny vines sprout up from newly opened cracks and viciously entangle the giant monster.
For a short moment he was simply awestruck by the sheer power of such a binding.
Just a moment earlier before the thundering scream he had heard a sickening thud that left him assuming the worst, now he was relieved and found a slimmer of hope and confidence in the presence of such great magic.

It took Arden a moment to get the torch down from its holder as he rushed at the task. With it in hand he looked back at the eye-less beast and the chaos ensuing.
Eye-less. He suddenly felt very stupid as in his initial panic he had gotten ahead of himself. He couldn't blind something with no eyes...
Yet this was the only place so far with magical torches and if they weren't meant for the creature to see intruders then it was meant for the intruders to see the creature.
Did the monster sense movement or fear, maybe it was neither and just smell. Arden didn't really have the luxury of time to ponder such things, he needed to act.

With a bit of magic and a bit of force he sucked on his own tongue until a familiar taste abruptly swept his tastebuds, blood filled his mouth. He was no fire Mage like his master, who would have easily cooked this beast by now, but that didn't mean he hadn't learnt a few pyrokinetic tricks.
Raising the flame of the torch to his lips, a huge fearsome fireball suddenly erupted from the other side. The dazzling bright flames radiated with a burning heat as they toiled and rolled over itself, rising up into the air but never extinguishing. There was no longer any fire on the torch as he had consumed it all for this large floating fiery orb. Within its core something darkened and took shape, some sort of blood-bird, as large as an eagle. The fiery creature was silent except for the rush of its flames.

Within seconds the fire-ball bird began viscously swooping the spider monsters, leaving sizzling splashes of flame behind with every attack. Also with every attack the conjured creature slightly shrunk and the flames dulled as it left behind a part of itself.
With the spider hindered by the binding Arden freely directed his pet to the most vulnerable spots he could find. Leg joints, open segments, it's underbelly. But it all seemed futile. The spider cared not of the little burns, but Arden's plan was not yet over.

With a splinter from the torch he took the ash and marked his magic parchment, by now his fiery bird was but a dull glow. Arden's artwork finished just as the creature tore free one of its giant claws. He couldn't see what it was striking at but his work was complete. The bird, now no bigger than a bat, flew in front of an oncoming attack. Arden spat the last dribble of blood from his mouth onto the altered protection charm.
Then something truly magical happened....

It would take a moment of aftermath to realise what Arden had done. The creature roared in true pain as the pieces fell together. What was once a defensive spell used to divert energy and force away from a blood source for protection now instead pinpointed that same force and energy at the very source it once protected.
So as the monster struck Arden's blood familiar, the same blood on the parchment, the full force of that attack was spread out across every burning mark it had strategically placed on the creature.
In one foul and viscous swoop it had attacked itself ten-fold.

However...

Arden could not rejoice in this wounding blow. He had done his best to differentiate the blood from his mouth with his own but the magic saw through it and some of the residual energy triggered within him. Suddenly shock and horror took his face as he was hit with the realisation of his failings. The whites of his eyes instantly splattered with red as the blood vessels there burst. The Crimson liquid trickled freely from his nose. His flesh went pale and clammy as one hand clutched at his chest and the other at the wall, failing to slow his stumbling fall.

Lusius Mathand

@13org

Lusius was asleep rather quickly, but perhaps not as totally asleep as Shai may have thought when she came to give him another blanket. Though one couldn't say he was fully conscious, he still felt the additional warmth and he subconsciously heard her words, bringign them to his dreams. Yet what had the most impact was the kiss. He couldn't feel it, or even knew that it happened, but deep inside and in the confines of his dreams he felt... well just warm. That night he had very pleasant and joyous dreams which was a very welcome change of pace.

Though as the night went on his happy place was soon over shadowed by the hate and rage within him and before long he was twitching and clenching his eyes in his sleep, every so often making very gentle pained sounds. Deep in his mind he was once again pained by reliving that fateful day that he lost everything and became this... monster, but like always... He wasn't running from the monster, he was the monster slaughtering all his friends and family only to be impaled by a young Lusius that made him start awake.

With a sharp intake of breath he jolted awake, eyes wide and looking around the room to gather his bearings. He got better very quickly almost as if this was something he did on a regular basis and when he was better he looked to see Shai meditating and flourishing her dice and cards around on his bed. It was sure a weird sight to be honest especially that jus tthe other day he'd kill somebody for doign something like that. But now... all he could think about was how cute she still looked in his clothes that were clearly too big for her.

Taking a moment to stretch he stood up and started to move around the room to move out his tired and relaxed muscles as well as his aches. He didn't want to make things awkward by stripping in from of Shai so he was a bit sore from sleeping in his clothes, pants, as well as even parts of his armored clothing. "Good morning. Sleep well?" He asked of Shai seeing that she was a tad alert and apparently had been for a bit. Not only to try and be a little kind to her, but also in an effort to sort of guide the conversation in the event she had seem his startled awakening. "If you give me a bit I should be able to make us something for breakfast. The storeroom and kitchen were thankfully unscorched, but we won't be able to boil anything as I had to smash the water reserve to help fight the fires. He offered as a sort of way to get the say started, but really reminding himself of the massive damage to his home wasn't something that made him happy. Regardless, at least things were moving towards a better future and even better solution.
