Hey everyone, I know I said I was gonna wait a few days before coming to a decision, but I figured it would be better to say something than keep everyone in the dark and draw out the wait for another day or two.

I have made a list of people who will be accepted, provided they make the changes I specified in my review post.

To those of you who weren't accepted, I'm sorry that you didn't make the cut on this one, if you want specific answers as to why I did not pick your character, shoot a PM my way and I will explain my reasoning.

On the whole I was happy with most people's characters, and should a slot open up as we go along you will be the first people I will contact to fill it. At the end of the day it came down to how many people I felt I could GM comfortably, not that I thought anyone wasn't up to the calibre of the RP.

I thought this would be the better way to do this rather than keep everyone in suspense when I had already made up my own mind. I realise it might seem a bit of shitty thing to do, saying one thing then doing the other. That was not my intention, but I still feel pretty bad about that.

I literally just responded to today's PM about my character and I see he's turned away without waiting on my explanation.

@Aristo Yeah I've sent you a PM back dude, but like I said, I had made up my mind. It would have been dishonest for me to pretend I had done otherwise. I couldve handled this better.

Then it would have been better have just said "no" at the outset rather than leading me on, asking me to elaborate on the (unfinished) character sheet (that was not going to be accepted anyway). I was more than willing to work on the background to fit the plausibility of the setting, but was not given a chance to do so, or even finish the sheet before judgment.

I'm up for brainstorming some ideas, it would make sense they are friends I think from reading the CS, they are a similar age and everything.

@Dziady It sounds like they have both been a member of the Fools for the same amount of time, and they're about the same age. I don't really want them to have known each other through childhood, but we may have both been in the same place and joined at the same time. I'm working on Cedric also being a rover of some sort, so I'm thinking he saw you with them and said to himself "I want to get in on that too."

@Mattchstick Sure any of those scenarios sound like they could work. Berislav would have joined up in Innsmouth upon returning to Westar from Ragmark at the behest of a BoF Sergeant he became friends with around the same time.

We can talk more when you have finished the CS and we know exactly where we stand.

@Trivval That sounds reasonable. We should start the RP already familiar with each other to some extent. Enough to understand who's in command and all, so we don't have to worry about "You can't tell me what to do!" situations early on.

@Kassarock Are you going to have a post limit in place, as in "wait until three/four/five people have posted before posting again?" I have a lot of free time and this is currently my only RP, courtesy of the fandom RPs drowning my other two into oblivion. So I'll be available more than most, but I don't want to put in three or four posts a week if others can only manage one.

Then again, it depends on what we're doing when we start. If I've been sent off to hunt for food or take watch, it wouldn't interfere with others elsewhere.

I have a lot of free time and this is currently my only RP, courtesy of the fandom RPs drowning my other two into oblivion. So I'll be available more than most, but I don't want to put in three or four posts a week if others can only manage one.

That would be appreciated. I work in a school at the moment and have four children I take care of. I usually only get to participate in this hobby on the weekends. After school my girls are either at dance or Karate. Monday - Friday are very busy days. But I only have two RPs at the moment. I usually limit myself to three. I will keep it at two for a while. See how the other RP goes. It is a Song of Ice and Fire RP. My other character is the heir to a house in Westeros and a Knight. He is only 20. Which is about as young as I will go. LOL

Relationships
I like to write a relationships section to help me direct any comments or perceptions my character may have towards the other PCs in this Role Play. They are merely Baldric Durant's perceptions. This is included with his character in the Characters Tab. I will add the other characters as they are posted.

Lemenuel 'Lem' Arronson: Baldy admires his Captain. Captain Arronson has been his mentor for about a decade. He has learned much from the older Company Commander. Baldy will do whatever Lem tells him to do. He would even fall on a sword for the man. He is the best Cap’n in the world!

Baldric worked in other companies before he came to the Band of Fortune. But he was with the Band five years ago working as a serjent when Lem fell with his horse. At the time, Baldy was wielding his great axe. The Young runt who ran the spear through Lem’s horse, caught the business end of Baldy’s axe. He cleaved the young man at the shoulder, wedging his blade through his torso where it ended at the belt line. The man split like a banana as he fell.

Baldy then called a few others to help get the dead carcass of a horse off Lem and pull the man out. He could not help his injury, but stood nearby to keep the most recent incarnate of the devil from getting close to his friend.

Il Sposoletto, who squires for Sir Ottavio Meduccoli is someone Bladric has grown to tolerate. Baldy admires his Knight, Sir Meduccoli; especially since he does not talk much. The man is a mute, Baldy knows it, but rarely acknowledges this condition. He simply likes him because he is quiet. He really doesn’t care why. But he also appreciates Sposoletto because he can communicate the knight’s ideas for him. He perceives Sposoletto has being a tenacious fighter; that quality he respects. What he doesn’t approve of is, his arrogant big mouth attitude. The Older Northman has has considered putting a mailed fist across the Taration squire more than a few times. His learned discipline has prevented him from acting on this impulse. He forces himself to tolerance.

Berislav Dąbrowski is someone Bladric has only met recently. He respects the young man’s reticence; pigeon holing him as someone who he might mentor if the opportunity arose. If not, it really didn’t matter to Baldy. If the son of a smithy ever wanted to ask Baldy a question, he would respond.

Sister Margaret is a bit of a curiosity to Baldric Durant; watching a nun making her way through the ranks of the Company. At first, he was opposed to her presence, but slowly learned to respect her work with healing wounds. Her quick temper to argue a point or to talk someone down has given him rise to merriment. He finds her somewhat humorous at times. He has never sought her out to converse. He keeps his ideas about the church to himself and feels no obligation to share them with her. She has asked him to attend a regular church service on occasion, but the quiet north man always declines her invitations. He has never needed her services and admits he finds her aesthetically pleasing to look at. He just does not have a need for her.

Sir Branimir Bradford is a respected Leftenant in the Company. Baldric has identified him as such and will obey his instructions. When Baldric first met Banimir Bradford, he questioned his intentions. He does not trust the highborn and was always suspicious of Bradford. Over the past seven years he has grown to respect the former knight. His charismatic quality does draw Baldric Durant towards him; making it easier to listen to his instructions as a superior. But the highborn birth thing does give Baldy some conflict.

@Kassarock I've added Cedric to the list. Out of all the changes, I'm most satisfied with his background now, which has nearly tripled in length. I'm pretty sure I addressed everything, but let me know if anything else needs to tinkered with.

Yeah I'll probably be enforcing some kind of posting order to make sure people don't left behind, but I think it would be unreasonable to make everyone wait for everyone else to post considering the size of the group. I'll probably be posting 1 or 2 times a week. We'll see how stuff unfolds then I might make something more formal.

Right then, still waiting on @Westwall for their edits, @Patryk PMed me and is good to move Gerald over, @Jbcool didn't have any edits to make and can move Bradach over.

In other business:

I still need to complete the Wider World tab, that will be happening tonight.

And we all have to make a decision about which faction we want to start with. The outcomes of the battles are already set in my mind, so who we choose will decide whether we end up on the winning or the losing side. After every major twist in the war/if our side gets the defeated, I'll give everyone the option to switch sides again.

However, bear in mind that if the winning side is well armed enough, they might not even want our services. And if we come crawling back to a faction that we have already broken contract with they will not be best pleased and may demand... retributions...

I'm going to write up some small introduction posts to each of the four factions, three of which the Band could potentially join (Blancia is unavailable as they will only enter the latter stages of the war). After that I'll put a poll in the thread and we'll all vote on who we will pledge our swords to.

What is wrong with both? Although, I have had mentors who were not friends, simply by position.
damn it! I though Lem was the Band of Fortune Commander.
